Once again this is another wonderful Christmas story from Karen Schaler. Every Day is Christmas is a modern version of my favorite Christmas story, A Christmas Carol. In this version Scrooge is a female financial genius who thinks of nothing but work since she lost her parents in an accident 20 years ago. Knowing the original story upon which it’s based only enhances this book as I read it. Don’t compare them, just enjoy! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this early copy in exchange for my honest review.

A modern take on A Christmas Carol, this book was written as a novelization of the movie version of this story that came out in 2018. I didn’t catch the movie so I still got to read the book first.
Christmas is not Alexis’s favourite holiday, in fact she hates it. She typically works, at her very successful financial company, on Christmas Day. But this year she has been extra grinchy. On Christmas Eve she is visited by the ghosts of the people who she misses most in an attempt to save her from herself.
The great thing about reading books based on classics is I typically know what direction it’s taking so I don’t need to worry about things turning out alright and can just enjoy the journey. If you are a fan of the Hallmark/Lifetime/Netflix feel good rom com movie genre this book is definitely for you.
Thank you to @netgalley @traveltherapy and @hawktalespublishingllc for letting me enjoy my Christmas season a little early.

In this charming retelling of "A Christmas Carol", Alexis Taylor hasn't celebrated Christmas since her parents passed away on Christmas Eve 20 years ago. She didn't want to risk losing anyone again so she became obsessed with work and making money. Because of that her company, Taylor Investments, is a leading financial firm in Atlanta.

But Alexis took things too far with her employees on Christmas Eve after they did not make their numbers and insisted everyone had to work on Christmas Day. When she got home, Alexis kept wondering why they weren't willing to make sacrifices to make their numbers and couldn't understand why work wasn't more important to them. She fell asleep then woke to see a familiar face who came to help her see what's truly important.

Will her journey into the past, present and future be eye-opening for Alexis? Will her heart swell with Christmas spirit after all these years? Let "Every Day Is Christmas" be your first holiday read to make your heart swell as we enter the holiday season.

Thank you NetGalley and HawkTale Publishing for this early Christmas present. I loved it and highly recommend it!

Every Day Is Christmas is a Heartwarming, Feel Good Christmas Romance novel by Karen Schaler it was exactly what I was looking for to pass a few hours this Labour Day Monday. Schaler’s novels are uplifting romantic stories. You may be familiar with her work from Netflix’s movies: A Christmas Prince or Christmas Camp. This book did not disappoint, it is a story filled with heart and hope. It is about redemption and second chances. We see the main character on a journey of self-discovery, transformation, and empowerment.
Don’t forget to look at the end of the book for the Christmas recipes and activities that Schaler has started to include in all her books since Christmas Camp, this is a fun tradition for her readers to enjoy.

Thank you #netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Karen Schaler's newest heart felt holiday themed book is inspired by Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol. The characters are charming I love the twist that the ghosts that visit her are the ghosts of her parents that she lost 20 years ago in a tragic car accident. This was a sweet book and it would make a perfect holiday read.

A unique twist to a time old Christmas story, but this time Scrooge is a highly successful financial guru. Alexis has never celebrated Christmas since her parents were killed in an accident on Christmas Eve twenty years ago.. This year is no different, until Alexis is visited by two very special people. A must read because as the author believes in this fun book, everyday can be like Christmas if you have love. Thank you Netgalley and Hawktale Publishing for an advanced copy. My honest opinion is expressed in this review.

Enjoyed the book tremendously. Alexis reminds me of someone in our family; a classic workaholic.

The meetings of past, present, and future is something I wish we all could do. The world would be a happier place. She needed a boot in the pants and the ghosts provided that.

Christmas is a time for family and Alexis with help from Dickens has one now.

I’m glad I started my Christmas reading with this.

A modern Christmas carol.
Alexis is scrooge and all she thinks about is making money, making her employers work on Christmas day and not giving them Christmas bonuses an having her chauffer drive her around without having time off.
Until she is shown what is important in life by her parents who had died 20yr ago.
A great Christmas read

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC and I give my honest review.

This book is based off of a movie staring Toni Braxton, written by Karen Schaler. In the tradition of great Christmas reads, the story reimagines Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol'. After all, Karen is named the Queen of Christmas for a reason.

An easy read, the book flows and you can picture the movie easily. The book contains recipes and a link to Christmas camp which references earlier books of Schaler's. I have read everything she's written and I order them for the library as it is a good book to chillax with.

I receive complimentary books for various sources including, Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.

Karen Schaler gives us another excellent Christmas novel. I have read a few of her others, and one is one of the best ones I have read.

Money, love, family along with loss of money, love and family are all themes running through this book.

We meet high powered finance person Alexis Taylor, also known among her employees as Scrooge at Christmas, as she wants nothing to do with Christmas and expects her employees to work through the holiday.

Alexis received an unexpected Christmas eve that is life changing.

Based on A Christmas Carol, Alexis must see her past, present, and future, to see the person she has become and then has to make a decision if she wants to change her life.

I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it be put on anyone’s Christmas reading list.

Thanks to HawkTale Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

A Christmas Carol is my favourite story so I was interested to read this modern telling of the story by Karen Schaler.
Scrooge in this book is tough business woman, Alexis.
Alexis has no time or interest in anything but her business, and certainly no time for Christmas.
Cue the ghosts of Alexis' late parents to take her on a journey of self-discovery.
This is a very easy read and full of Christmas cheer. I've taken a star off as the story's so predictable if you know the original Charles Dickens classic.

What a great reminder that money isn’t everything. After her parents’ death Alexis shut down all love except for her love of money. Twenty years later she has a Scrooge type night, but is it enough to get her to choose people over money?

I would like to thank Netgalley, Hawktale Publishing and Karen Schaler for the E ARC of this book.
This is a well written modern day retelling of A Christmas Carol. We meet Alexis who no longer loves all things Christmas, all she thinks about it work. She even doesn’t allow her employees have a Christmas party or Secret Santa. Things come to a head when on Christmas Eve she decides that they are not getting their Christmas bonus’s and they have to work Christmas Day.
That night Alexis get a visit from her Mum’s ghost. Alexis thinks she is having a hallucination but her Mum assures her she is not. She then takes Alexis back to the fateful Christmas Eve when her parents were killed. She shows her that even though it was a horrible time that love was still there for her.
She is then taken to the home of her COO and learns more about him and his family and what not getting the Christmas bonus means not just for him but his family as a whole.
She also learns about the man she was dating and what he hoped would happen this Christmas between them.
Lastly her Dad’s ghost comes to her, both he and her Mum show her what her future Christmas will look like.
Alexis is shocked by all the visits but will it be enough for her to change her ways?
This was a well written and in many ways fun retelling as we see Alexis grow and in many ways develop. Also her seeing that there were people there for her no matter what.
Another great Christmas book by Karen Schaler.

Alexis Taylor who loved her work all the time, owner of Taylor Investments, the top financial firm in the country had everything but is lonely and certainly stressed around the Christmas holidays. She had given up falling in love a long time ago, all her boyfriends she dated had a relationship with her as more of a business partnership. She always put work first. When it's Christmas Eve, it's only Alexis who is working. She had employees working which made her proud. Instead of bringing excitement and the holiday feel to her office as a boss, she was grieving her parents and totally disconnected from the lights and decorations that brought magical moments. As she started to hallucinate, she had to be in charge of her emotions. Because of her work, she never celebrated Christmas.

That's when Justin drives her around as her employee wants to reveal his feelings for her. Her driver, Justin admired Alexis's strength, dedication, and fearlessness. You can give your whole life to your career and sacrifice on a daily basis therefore it was a price that Alexi paid that this story brings to a reader's attention. Instead of accepting the present moment everything she talked about brought stress in her.

Everything Alexi did was connected to her career. In the end, Justin turns out to be a trustworthy person she can confide about her frustrations with work and relationships even though losing her parents brings pain and memories. The last thing she wanted was to love someone truly again and risk losing them like she had lost her parents. Was Alexi better off lonely? Can the wonderful festive season spark her to return to the Christmas spirit that she kindled 20 years ago during her childhood with her mom and dad whom she missed dearly?

With touches of humor and emotions, the author has brought the Christmas spirit in me. Highly recommend reading at this season of Christmas. Thanks to NetGalley and Hawktale Publishing for a digital complimentary copy for my honest review.

Author Karen Schaler has once again penned a Christmas book that I could not put down. This one is a modern-day retelling of Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, only this time Scrooge is Alexis, a high-powered businesswoman. That’s right, her only nodding recognition of the holiday is to decorate the public spaces of her Atlanta office building and keep a “must-see” Douglas Fir tree that brings both city residents and tourists inside her tower.

Major characters in the story are very real. You get to know them and their problems. You also learn the sad reason that turned Alexis away from celebrating the holiday.

As a reader I could not dislike Alexis. Instead, I felt sorry for both Alexis and her employees. She has no room in her life for friends or romance as her life is devoted to work. What can her ghosts show her that will help her change?

An old Christmas photo mysteriously appears in her office...and it is the trigger for her ghost visits to begin. Her ghosts are her deceased parents, and as in the Dicken’s story, they take her to the past, present, and future.

If you have ever read the Dicken’s book or watched the story on television, then you know how things work out. If not, then I will let you read the book to learn the ending on your own.

I anxiously await Ms. Schaler’s Christmas books each year and am thrilled to say that this one does not disappoint.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advance copy of this wonderful story.

Every Day Is Christmas by Karen Schaler is a captivating tale that explores the themes of love, forgiveness, second chances, and the profound significance of Christmas. This heartwarming narrative serves as a poignant reminder to nurture the spirit of Christmas within our hearts, ensuring it remains vibrant and alive.

Such a fun and unique way to retell the Christmas Carol. Alexis loves money. It can never leave her, who needs love or friends when you know you are safe and secure in your future. Christmas is horrid. Why anyone would waste time with friends or family is beyond Alexis’s comprehension. More money should be made so that goals can be reached. This Christmas though a photo of her and her family at Christmas time magically shows up at her office. Then later in the day when she sees her mother at the Angel house, Alexis is thrown into a journey, where she learns that money will not be there for you when something goes wrong. Opening your heart up to love, and allowing others to love you can change the world.
This is just a lovely story. Yes, it has all of the same concepts as the original Christmas Carol, yet it allows Alexis to have more of a story arch after the ghosts have delivered their message. I also really love Justin. He adds a lovely layer to the story and is his own strong standalone character.
Thank you so much to HawkTale Publishing and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book.
