Dragtails by Greg Bailey and Alice Wood is fabulous. From the moment I immersed myself in the book, I wanted to gather friends and have a party. This collection offers a beautiful array of drinks for cocktail enthusiasts.
What truly sets this book apart is how beautifully the drinks are presented. I can't wait to try The Tension Tamer, among many others. My drinking experience just got fancy.
The book's layout is both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly, allowing for easy navigation and seamless execution of the drink recipes. Whether you're a seasoned bartender or a novice, the instructions are clear and concise, making drink mixing a delightful and enjoyable experience.
I am excited to share these Dragtails with my friends and am confident that this recipe book will become a cherished addition to my bar's library.
Thank you to NetGalley and White Lion Publishing for generously providing me with an e-book copy of Dragtails in exchange for an honest review.
Dragtails is filled with a variety of cocktails inspired by the history of drag and famous drag performers. The book included illustrations of the drinks that were amazing and gave a Breakfast At Tiffany’s meets Pin-Up vibe. Each drink included a brief explanation of the inspiration for the cocktail, the recipes were easy to follow and I loved that each one included the glassware that the drink should be served in! I especially loved the dragtail playlist that was included at the end of the book!
No tea, "Dragtails" walked in purse-first to boot the house down. This book slays with its gorgeous artwork that brings each cocktail to life so fiercely it's sickening.
The recipes? They're to die for, hunty! From classic concoctions with a twist to inventive creations that'll leave you gagging, every drink is crafted to perfection. Whether you're serving up a cocktail for yourself or hosting an eleganza extravaganza, "Dragtails" has got you covered with recipes that are as bold and unapologetic as the queens who inspire them.
Oh, y'all wanted a twist? There's no photos in this book, only illustrations. Each one is a work of art that celebrate the beauty and creativity of drag culture. Each illustration captures the essence of drag royalty. Some people may not like it but *tongue pop* the shade of it all.
"Dragtails" is serving major cocktail realness. It's a must-have for anyone who loves mixing drinks with a side of glam and a splash of attitude. Get ready to sip, sashay, and slay with "Dragtails" in hand - the library is open.
Who could possibly pass up DRAGTAILS, with its 50 fab campy cocktails and spectacular illustrations? Not I. Such fun!
This was such a unique cocktail recipe book. I'm a big fan of fun cocktails and drag shows, and this is great combo of the two. I would recommend this to a friend.
Tastes great. Didn’t get to the end the first few times. Lighthearted and delicious. Give them a try.
A fun and creative read. This craft cocktail compendium will keep you and your friends entertained for hours!
So so SO fun! I loved reading about the Queens as much as I enjoyed the cocktails! I wish their picture was included but I would google them to get the full experience while reading about them. I loved that the drinks were illustrated instead of pictured. It gave a fun, campy, artsy feel to it. And I’m a fall girl so Very Delta was my very favorite.
Good Day everyone! What a beautiful day to do a review on a very colorful book filled with Alcohol beverages that are guaranteed to tingle the taste buds! I wanted to share at least one drink that I LOVED , I tried a few but this was by far my favorite, Cream-A-Ballerina because it was so delicious , creamy and festive. I love the beautiful images that go along with all the recipes for these drinks . Do you like mixed drinks? Do you like to be more than ordinary ? If so these drinks are for you! I would purchase this beautiful book and take it to the club, bar, wherever your going and have them make these drinks for you!
I decided to go out of my comfort zone reviewing Cocktail books ( reviewing 2) I am glad I did it because I now have some drinks I want to try with a few friends. Some of the drinks I tried :
Very delta = Very festive and delicious
Pinarita= DELICOUS smooth and I love both pina colada and margarita so a hit for me lol
Neon angel = A beautiful tasting lemonade mixer , I liked it but not my favorite lol
and last but not least ( other than the Cream a ballerina )
The tension tamer = I love citrus so I really liked this one smooth and oh so citrus
I do highly recommend this book especially if you like to throw parties . I hope you enjoyed my short but sweet review , I really am excited to try a few other drinks soon, need to make a run to a bigger Liquor store to get a few things I couldn’t find near me.
This book is so fun!
I love cocktails. I love drag queens. And really tying them together only makes sense.
Each recipe comes with a brief blurb about the queen that inspired it.
I made a handful of the drinks (for research obviously) and the recipes were simple and easy to follow.
Definitely pick this up for a cocktail fan or drag queen fan in your life.

This book is a fun idea with a bunch of cocktails inspired by famous drag queens and instructions on how to make them. My biggest complaint about this book is there are no photos of the cocktails just illustrations and while the drawings are beautiful I was hoping to see what the drinks look like in real life! There's some standard cocktails as well as some more unique mixes.
Dragtails is my new favorite cocktail recipe book and I can't wait to gift my sister a copy after it publishes! I can't wait to try so many of the recipes. I love how each cocktail has an inspiration and explanation. The illustrations were so beautiful, colorful, and matched perfectly with each drink. This would be a beautiful addition to any coffee table or bar cart.
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion, White Lion Publishing for allowing me to be an early reader. All opinions are my own.
This is such a fun creative book. For any fan of drag or like entertaining with inventive cocktails this book is an excellent addition
This book, brimming with recipes inspired by drag queens, had the potential to be even more captivating by featuring the outfits they wore alongside the cocktails. I appreciated the inclusion of up-and-coming drag queens in the book. Though it might be a personal quirk, the image of dragon tails lingered in my mind as I read through the content.
If you love Drag culture or love making cocktails at home, this book is perfect. The photos are beautiful and spot light many well known drag queens plus some that were new to me, but I could see and feel their larger than life personalities in this book. If you love making cocktails and have solid skills, these drinks are beautiful and many are very unique. The down side of that is that some are pretty complex to make, have ingredients that you may not have on hand at your home bar, and may stretch your skills as a bartender. If your up for the challenge or just want a very pretty book for your bar collection, pick this one up!
What a fun book. This is a fun recipe book of cocktails, and each drink is inspired by a famous drag queen. The recipes are easy to follow, and each drink is matched with a beautiful illustration.

Dragtails is a creative cocktail book inspired by famous drag queens. The recipes are a creative spin to traditional cocktails and include a synopsis of the queen they were named after. The instructions are easy to follow but they do lack the type of glass that should be used. I was disappointed that there were not real photos of the drinks, while the illustrations are nicely done it would have been better to see the actual concoction. The cocktails were overly sweet for my taste so they did not appeal to me as much as I was hoping they would. Overall this is a great addition for a fun party or the next screening of Drag Race.
Dragtails is a collection of cocktail recipes inspired by drag queens (and kings). The drinks look FABULOUS. I love that each recipe is inspired by different royalty, and they each get a little paragraph of introduction and inspiration. The variety of drinks is impressive.
I totally love that they use images that aren't real pictures. Normally, photographs are one of the highlights in a recipe collection (for me), so I was a little surprised by this choice. And honestly, it's unconventional, but the pictures are so well done, it is really the perfect choice for a a collection of cocktails celebrating the unconventional! I absolutely love this! ❤️
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this eARC in exchange for my honest review on the book!
So much fun. Love how it tells us about the artist and how the drink relates. Also it’s so respectful and considerate to include mocktails for the sober artists and the enjoyment of the sober reader!
My only criticism is that I’d have loved to see real photos of the dragtails. As gorgeous as the illustrations are, and they are gorgeous, real life is always gonna look different!
Dragtails is perfectly over the top! The photos are gorgeous and the tie between drag queens and cocktails is awesome. Starting with 'The Showgirl', inspired by Danny La Rue through dozens of great drag queens and drinks. Loved the Grand Maha-Raja, inspired by Raja Gemini! And all the cocktail have cool suggestions for presentation. This book is wonderful addition for anyone who likes to entertain!
