Description
Just as raucous, ravishing and brimming with camp as the drag stars who inspired them, these 50 cocktails are destined for the spotlight.
With a foreword by drag legend and Drag Race superstar Raja Gemini, Dragtails will add a spring to your step, a bounce to your weave and a shimmer to your lip gloss.
Each Dragtail is brought to life with an inventive illustration that echoes the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the particular queen that inspired it. Along with ingredients and methods, an ode to the artist explains the inspiration for the drink.

LOTS of great cocktails in here from your favourite queen .. or one you have never heard of before…their names alone are making the spellchecker lose its mind. Beautiful drinks, beautiful queens and a great way to jazz up a party and your life. Just don’t serve them at story time as the bigots will shut you down!

YASSSSSS WORKKKKKKK.
I am living for the fact that a cookbook like this exists. I am DEFINITELY SPRINTING TO MY BAR CART to whip up some of this decadent looking sips and cocktails. I am so thankful to the publisher and contributors of this book and look forward to September 12, 2023 for publication day.
Dragtails is perfectly over the top! The photos are gorgeous and the tie between drag queens and cocktails is awesome. Starting with 'The Showgirl', inspired by Danny La Rue through dozens of great drag queens and drinks. Loved the Grand Maha-Raja, inspired by Raja Gemini! And all the cocktail have cool suggestions for presentation. This book is wonderful addition for anyone who likes to entertain!
I love a good cocktail book with truly unique recipes that I have never had before. The book definitely fit the bill. There are so many drinks that look amazing and I am so excited to try them all.
I adore the consistency of the title and theme with information about the person who inspired the cocktail included with every recipe. I spent as much time reading the stories as I did reading the recipes.
The artwork is phenomenal. So much of it looks like something I would want to frame and hang in my home bar. The only downside to the art is it makes me want to try all of the drinks immediately, which is probably not the best idea I have ever had.
Overall, one of the best cocktail books I have seen in a long time.
Super fun.
I liked how each dragtail was easy to make and came with a little info about the Drag Queen it's named after.
The pictures were colorful and vibrant and useful to see how your attempt should look.
I received a copy via Net Galley and all opinions are my own.
I had such a fabulous time reading this! This book, a collection of dragtails described by a host of our favourite drag stars, with a foreword written by Raja Gemini, meshes the fierceness of drag with the jollity of cocktail concoction. I loved the descriptions provided by each star on their own background and inspiration for their drink. Many of these sound so easy to make but I know it will definitely be easier said than done (they make it sound easy)! I loved the illustrations but did wish there were other illustrations as well (maybe some of the stars holding their drinks?). All in all, such an enjoyable experience reading this book and I would love to gift this to friends.
Dragtails is a collection of cocktail recipes inspired by drag queens (and kings). The drinks look FABULOUS. I love that each recipe is inspired by different royalty, and they each get a little paragraph of introduction and inspiration. The variety of drinks is impressive.
I totally love that they use images that aren't real pictures. Normally, photographs are one of the highlights in a recipe collection (for me), so I was a little surprised by this choice. And honestly, it's unconventional, but the pictures are so well done, it is really the perfect choice for a a collection of cocktails celebrating the unconventional! I absolutely love this! ❤️
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this eARC in exchange for my honest review on the book!
This is such a fun creative book. For any fan of drag or like entertaining with inventive cocktails this book is an excellent addition
This book, brimming with recipes inspired by drag queens, had the potential to be even more captivating by featuring the outfits they wore alongside the cocktails. I appreciated the inclusion of up-and-coming drag queens in the book. Though it might be a personal quirk, the image of dragon tails lingered in my mind as I read through the content.
This was such a unique cocktail recipe book. I'm a big fan of fun cocktails and drag shows, and this is great combo of the two. I would recommend this to a friend.
So so SO fun! I loved reading about the Queens as much as I enjoyed the cocktails! I wish their picture was included but I would google them to get the full experience while reading about them. I loved that the drinks were illustrated instead of pictured. It gave a fun, campy, artsy feel to it. And I’m a fall girl so Very Delta was my very favorite.
Dragtails is my new favorite cocktail recipe book and I can't wait to gift my sister a copy after it publishes! I can't wait to try so many of the recipes. I love how each cocktail has an inspiration and explanation. The illustrations were so beautiful, colorful, and matched perfectly with each drink. This would be a beautiful addition to any coffee table or bar cart.
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion, White Lion Publishing for allowing me to be an early reader. All opinions are my own.
No tea, "Dragtails" walked in purse-first to boot the house down. This book slays with its gorgeous artwork that brings each cocktail to life so fiercely it's sickening.
The recipes? They're to die for, hunty! From classic concoctions with a twist to inventive creations that'll leave you gagging, every drink is crafted to perfection. Whether you're serving up a cocktail for yourself or hosting an eleganza extravaganza, "Dragtails" has got you covered with recipes that are as bold and unapologetic as the queens who inspire them.
Oh, y'all wanted a twist? There's no photos in this book, only illustrations. Each one is a work of art that celebrate the beauty and creativity of drag culture. Each illustration captures the essence of drag royalty. Some people may not like it but *tongue pop* the shade of it all.
"Dragtails" is serving major cocktail realness. It's a must-have for anyone who loves mixing drinks with a side of glam and a splash of attitude. Get ready to sip, sashay, and slay with "Dragtails" in hand - the library is open.
