I love a good cocktail book with truly unique recipes that I have never had before. The book definitely fit the bill. There are so many drinks that look amazing and I am so excited to try them all.

I adore the consistency of the title and theme with information about the person who inspired the cocktail included with every recipe. I spent as much time reading the stories as I did reading the recipes.

The artwork is phenomenal. So much of it looks like something I would want to frame and hang in my home bar. The only downside to the art is it makes me want to try all of the drinks immediately, which is probably not the best idea I have ever had.

Overall, one of the best cocktail books I have seen in a long time.

The recipes are clear and easy to follow. I like that an outline of the type of glass needed is include at the bottom of the recipe. I LOVE the blurbs about each member of drag royalty. They’re funny and informative. The drawings of the drinks are beautifully done and I love the imagery, but I do wish there were actual pictures of the drinks since I’m more of a visual person. But that’s me. These drinks still sound fabulous and delicious!

This recipe book is great for people who are fans of drag and fancy cocktails. If you’ve ever attended or wanted to attend a drag brunch, this recipe book is for you. LGBTQIA+

Super fun.
I liked how each dragtail was easy to make and came with a little info about the Drag Queen it's named after.
The pictures were colorful and vibrant and useful to see how your attempt should look.
I received a copy via Net Galley and all opinions are my own.

I had such a fabulous time reading this! This book, a collection of dragtails described by a host of our favourite drag stars, with a foreword written by Raja Gemini, meshes the fierceness of drag with the jollity of cocktail concoction. I loved the descriptions provided by each star on their own background and inspiration for their drink. Many of these sound so easy to make but I know it will definitely be easier said than done (they make it sound easy)! I loved the illustrations but did wish there were other illustrations as well (maybe some of the stars holding their drinks?). All in all, such an enjoyable experience reading this book and I would love to gift this to friends.

Synopsis (from Netgalley, the provider of the book for me to review.)

Each Dragtail is brought to life with an inventive illustration that echoes the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the particular queen that inspired it. Along with ingredients and methods, an ode to the artist explains the inspiration for the drink.

LOTS of great cocktails in here from your favourite queen .. or one you have never heard of before…their names alone are making the spellchecker lose its mind. Beautiful drinks, beautiful queens and a great way to jazz up a party and your life. Just don’t serve them at story time as the bigots will shut you down!

This was lots of fun - featuring cocktail recipes inspired by different drag queens. Each recipe includes the directions, a fun blurb about the queen who inspired it, and an over-the-top illustrated image of the cocktail. Some also included mocktail adaptations. Filled with queens you know and some you might not, I thought this was tons of fun! I would have loved some content on fun cocktail styling along with the recipes.

I am living for the fact that a cookbook like this exists. I am DEFINITELY SPRINTING TO MY BAR CART to whip up some of this decadent looking sips and cocktails. I am so thankful to the publisher and contributors of this book and look forward to September 12, 2023 for publication day.

A fun cocktail book that features cocktails inspired by drag queens! Each cocktail gives you a little history about the queen and some insight into the inspiration of the cocktail. I really liked that this featured queens from all over the world! I do wish the illustrations had been either more realistic or more illustrative- they gave me very CGI vibes. Overall though, a great mixology book!
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.
