Unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish reading it before the rental days expired. I’ll give it a 4 because it had some useful information. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

As I approach 40 and get deeper into midlife, I've become more and more interested in learning about the changes that happen to women's bodies. What once felt like a somewhat taboo subject, it's incredibly refreshing to see menopause finally getting a spotlight shone on it. Research into women's health issues is still vastly underfunded and understudied, but I'm hoping this is the beginning of a shift in that. Bhatia's book is a great primer on this topic and made me eager to read more. I took plenty of notes and made a list of actions I want to take to start to get a better handle on this transition.

This is a great well laid out book. Easy to understand and for someone that reads a lot of these books this had new info.that I didn’t know.
I was trying to wait to write a review until I followed the protocol at the end but haven’t done it yet.
I look forward to having this book on my digital bookshelf so that I can go back to it time and again,

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book early.

I enjoyed the book but felt that the organization was a bit disjointed. It was hard to get to the crux of the matter as there was a lot of rehashing/repetition. I found myself flipping to the relevant (to me) sections and glossing over other parts.

This book has lots of good information on the hormones and how to best work with what's happening in your body. The recommended course of action was quite extensive and I doubt I'll be following it. Most of the new information I found in this book was useful and built upon what I already knew.

I love the whole body approach Dr. Taz Bhatia takes in her new book, The Hormone Shift. She guides the reader through a thorough understanding of hormones and the changes or "shifts," women experience over time. She then provides targeted strategies to address hormonal imbalances, drawing from both Eastern and Western medicine. She provides not only diet changes that may improve hormone balance, but also sleep, mindset, and lifestyle.

Her book ends with a 30 day hormone reset that is broken down into four phases. Each phase focuses on specific and actionable steps. The mind-body toolbox in phase 4 was my favorite, and one I see myself revisiting often to address the stressors of daily life. I will continue to implement her recommendations, and work toward a more balanced life.
