It is a nice book to read to start the school year, but anytime really. It helps youth celebrate who they are. It focuses on diversity, life experiences, and different abilities. Anything that makes you who you are makes you beautiful and special. It is a lovely and compassionate message. It is a message we all need to hear from time to time. It is a well-designed book for parents, educators, and caregivers to read to children. If you have a little one this is a great book to read to them or with them. Educators this is a wonderful story to read throughout the year to help provide an uplifting message to students. We learn about being you and sharing joy with others can help create kindness throughout every place we go.
I received an electronic ARC from I received an electronic ARC from Jenny Miller through NetGalley.
The simple artwork emphasizes childhood in this affirming poem. Yamasaki takes readers on a journey through strengths and empowerment. Each page spread offers a different love gift celebrating the child. Joy echoes through the book along with the messages of love and power. Beautiful gift book for young families. Also one to have in school resource areas. The informative text included at the end offers adults opportunities to implement affirming games and actions with their own children.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC!
This title shares with children how their joy impacts others. I will recommend this book to parents and will adopt this title to my therapeutic practice.
A beautifully illustrated, and simply written book of affirmations to give to children. Would make a great gift for a child or for a social worker/children's counselor to have on hand.
Teaching your kids that they are enough just as they are is one of the best things you can do. Children are filled with so much wonder and joy and it's so important to keep that magic alive in them and remind them how much you love them every day.
Instead of sharing a story, this book is more like a form of affirmation. I believe it is helpful in reminding younger children how they are enough for what they are. It could serve as an early educating material which nurture healthy mindset among those children. Overall, I think it's okay and contain good values regarding mindset. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy and above are my opinion on it.
Your Joy is Beautiful is a lovely little book written by a mother who is herself a trauma survivor and yoga teacher, for her little boy, with the aim of teaching him early in life to love himself and those around him.
The illustrations are nicely done and the messages in the rhyming text are delivered in a way that a young child can easily grasp. There is so much appreciation expressed for the child's qualities that one can only wish that all parents would speak to their children like this.
I especially liked the yoga postures, the affirmations and the empowerment exercises laid out at the end of the book. This is a terrific resource for parents of young kids.
This book is a must-read for anyone hoping to teach children about positive affirmations and instil in children that they are enough. It is beautifully illustrated and written. Additionally, it offers great educational resources at the end. I’ll definitely be purchasing this to add to my shelf!
This was a book full of affirmations for young children written by a trauma educator that was simply amazing. The illustrations were diverse, and there was a heartfelt introduction from the author, as well as exercises to empower children in the back of the book.
What a gorgeous book!!! Beautiful full color illustrations and a sweet message. A precious reminder that you are indeed – enough!! Thank you to NetGalley and Zahabiyah Yamasaki for a digital copy of the Your Joy is Beautiful in exchange for an honest review.
Cute children’s book illustrating the diversity that comes with people. It shows many different people doing different things and no matter who you are or what you do everyone is different and perfect in their own way.
This is a really great & colorful book of affirmations for children.
I really like anything that makes kids feel confident & empowered and this book does just that.
I also like that there are activities at the end to help reinforce calmness & self-love.
I loved this! What a gorgeous, empowering book for grownups to share with their children. It instills such a lovely, and important message. The illustrations are beautiful throughout- really vibrant, and colourful, and the way the story is told in rhyming couplets, is really engaging. The book is inclusive, and really champions all the positive traits and skills that make children thrive. Developing a positive mindset early on, will really help them through to adulthood. There’s an activity section at the back to help build these important life skills. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you to Jenny Miller, and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.
I loved this book and I look forward to sharing it with my class! The illustrations were beautiful! I love how the words rhymed, as younger students need something to sing along with!
I really appreciated how this book was told in a way to affirm good qualities, but also ended with recommendations for affirmations, yoga poses and more. I loved that the illustrations showed people with different abilities and from different cultures.
This is a beautiful story book that encourages children to find and spread joy through compassion, empathy, and self-empowerment. It’s absolutely lovely, as are the colorful illustrations by Eve Andry. Great for children, and an important reminder to adults as well.
Thank you Zabie Yamasaki, Jenny Miller, and NetGalley and publisher for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.
I just absolutely adore the message this book presents. It's a hard world out there these days and our children need to learn the language of compassion, kindness and empathy because there isn't enough of that in today's society. Also making sure that our children know that they are worthy and deserving of love just the way they are is such an important message for a child to learn early on before going through the teenage years which can be so difficult for many.
The illustrations are beautiful and will keep a child's attention. The messages are important, but put in a way that I child will enjoy reading the book.
This was such a beautiful book about the wonder of children's joy and how to affirm their self worth starting from a young age. It's incredibly touching and has such valuable lessons for both children and parrents!
Thank you to NetGalley, along with the publisher for the eARC. I loved the illustrations throughout the book- very colorful and eye catching! This book is very diverse and would make a great addition to a classroom library!
A short book about all the different ways a child can find joy.
The art in my opinion was a bit lacking but very colorful.
The story itself was a poem. This book didn't overly catch my attention but it wasn't awful by any means.
