I loved this cookbook! I love making and eating tacos and I also enjoy how easy tacos are to make and how customizable they are. I liked that the ingredients for the various recipes in this cookbook were healthy and easy to purchase. A lot of recipes can be complicated to make and feature ingredients that are hard to find so I appreciate the fact that the author of this cookbook made the recipes very accessible to everyone who is interested in making tacos at home. It was cool to see recipes for the tortillas used in taco recipes, including whole wheat tortillas and gluten free ones. The sauces and fillings featured in the cookbook also all sound very delicious. This cookbook makes me excited to try out the recipes featured in it!
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!
What a delightful book. The tortilla recipes are great. I love the basic recipe but the variations are so different and I am excited to try them. The tomatillo sauce is very flavorful, serrano is too hot for me. Next time I will make it with jalapeno instead. Roasting the vegetables gave a great taste to the sauce. There is enough variety to make this book interesting and I can see reaching for it again and again.

Scrumptious, flavourful, delicious and any other word you can think of for what is a great book for tavo lovers. I was inspired by all the delicious flavours and felt inspired to get into the kitchen to create something new for dinner.
I loved the freshness of the dishes, easy-to-follow instructions and beautiful photography throughout. I have been drooling over the Gorditas for breakfast for some time now and must give them a try.
I recommend this book to all who love Mexican flavours and straightforward recipes that tantalise the tastebuds.
I really love cooking Mexican food and wraps feature heavily in my recipes. This book was informative and interesting and it has inspired me to be more adventurous rather than stick with my usual chilli beef filling.
This book is a good addition to my Recipe book collection and one that o will definitely use a lot.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my copy.
The book starts with a detailed primer on making both flour and corn tortillas, with reviews of the tortilla presses available on the market. Plenty of recipes are provided for the tortillas that you'll make. Enchilladas, Nachos, Gorditas and Quesadillas .
While there isn't a lot of ground-breaking material here, its a good solid cookbook for starters.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Super Easy Tortilla and Taco Cookbook has a lot of positives and few negatives. On the negative side, there are not enough photographs in the beginning of the finished dishes. The typeface on the cover art gives the cookbook more of a pamphlet feel, not one of a bona fide cookbook. On the positive side, the author gives a good history lesson, information about tortilla presses, and how to make everything from your own tortillas to flour tortilla pizza. The photographs show off the finished dishes in their best light, inspiring readers to try their hand at making their own tortilla and taco meals from scratch. Part 1 includes all of the history and information, while Part 2 has all of the dishes including foundational recipes.
Foundations: Ground Beef Filling; Fajita Beef or Chicken; Basic From Scratch Pinto Beans; Refried Pinto or Black Beans; Sauces: Mole, Queso, Salsa Crema

The photographs in the latter part of the cookbook definitely show the vibrancy of this type of cooking. Overall, the recipes are well organized and give the reader all of the basics that they need to make delicious meals.
Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy by NetGalley and the publisher. The decision to read and review this cookbook was entirely my own.
A great book showing her to make tortillas and tacos from scratch, from shells to fillings. A great instruction book.
Not bad...
I love tacos and most everything tortilla and tortilla chip related and so when I saw this book, I was excited to get into it. Thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing for the gifted copy of this cookbook.
If you're looking to learn more about the history and origin of tacos and tortillas, this is a nice introduction and resource to start with. I appreciated the sections on how to make tortilla chips and tortillas themselves from scratch. It is also well structured and easy to navigate but beyond that it was just an average cookbook for me. I wish that the recipes were expanded upon more to include caloric and nutritional info. Likewise, the recipes selected to highlight were pretty basic for me. Think more Tex Mex and southwest style cuisine. I would have liked to see more authentic, flavorful profiles and options.

A delightful collection of recipes for anyone looking to add variety to their Taco Tuesday (or any other menu). We love it!
I never thought about making my own tortillas. And I definitely never thought about anything other than plain (delicious) flour tortillas. This book has opened my eyes to so much! How to make everything from scratch (or with a shortcut or 2)!
Super Easy Tortilla and Taco Cookbook was just that, super easy! The recipes are well explained, with clear directions. There’s nothing quite like a fresh tortilla to show how much someone cares. The ways to use a tortilla seemed limitless before I read this book, but now I’m convinced it’s the most versatile wrap to come around
The various taco recipes look amazing. I can’t wait to get started on them all. All the breakfast items look easy and quick, all the better to get out the door quickly. And the desserts will be in rotation for a long time to come!
I would recommend this to anyone looking for an easy way to make quick and mostly healthy meals. They’re as healthy as the items you put in as filling! Give this book a chance!!
This book includes stunning photography alongside the recipes! I really enjoyed looking through this book and feel inspired to try many of its unique dishes. The layout and font styles really complement the recipes, and I’m loving the variety throughout. The recipes feel manageable and not overwhelming.
This is a wonderful cookbook to add to your collection and bring some spice to your kitchen!
This is a lovely guide to the diverse uses of tortillas and the different ways of making tacos. It is a creative and authentic guide. From breakfast to snacks to meals and even dessert, this provides a guide to making recipes with tortillas. It's great and creative.
Tacos are quite literally my favorite food. An entire book of taco recipes? Yes, please! I was so excited to look through and try every recipe I possibly could by Dotty Griffith.
This book had all the steps to make the perfect taco dinner. It not only gave recipes for the fillings, but there were numerous recipes to make your own, homemade tortillas, which I had never done. It was a fun experience to learn to make on my own and even better to eat.
Next were the recipes for the insides. This book has a little bit of everything! Whether you like meat or vegetarian options, you can use something in this book. The only thing I wish I had were more inside recipes. There were more tortilla recipes than insides in my opinion. I wished it was a little more balanced.
I was in no way disappointed by the recipes in this book and I plan to use them on the regular for dinners at my house. Highly recommended for all those taco lovers out there!
I didn’t have enough time to try the recipes, but thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced reading copy. I’ll have to purchase it to try all the lovely taco, tortilla, quesadilla, chips, and enchilada recipes.
Wow, everything one wants to know about tortillas - history, making, using the press, rolling, and ingredients. But there is a lot more there are recipes, side dishes and variations on the tortilla and tacos- this is a very detailed book on this dish. Apparently tortillas have out sold hot dog and hamburger buns in supermarkets in America from 2010.
The recipes are many and varied and with lots of additional sauces, salsa, cheese, dips and crisps and anything else you need to know. Really interesting book. . Thanks you NetGalley and the publishers for the DRC
If you are looking into getting into Mexican inspired cooking this is the book for you! As someone who typically cooks American or Indian recipes, I really wanted to to understand the basics of Mexican cooking. This book really helped me understand how to cook the staples of Mexican cooking. I was captivated on how the recipes were organized and what really made these recipes stand out was the tips provided throughout on ways to perfect the recipes. Also the tidbits of humor peppered through the book added to the flare, and made it that much more interesting/engaging.
This is a great taco cookbook! It tells how to make homemade tortillas which I'm really excited to try. There are diverse recipes in this book and there are recipes that are unique. I would recommend this! Special Thank You to Dotty Griffith, Quarto Publishing Group, and NetGalley for allowing me to read a complimentary copy prior to publication in exchange for an honest review.
