I’m sorry, but I couldn’t continue this. I really tried. The writing style isn’t it for me. I’m sorry. The cover is so beautiful tho🥹

"Meant For Me" by Tay Marley is an absolute gem! With captivating characters and a heartwarming plot, this novel swept me off my feet from the very first page. Marley's writing is engaging and filled with emotion, making it impossible to put down. The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the romantic tension kept me eagerly flipping pages. Healing happens when you let love in
Life happens when you start living it.

This is so a real feeling and has you immersed from from the moment that it starts. I didn’t put this one down from start to finish. I loved this book. It does have a little bit of spice and it was well written. I really enjoyed it. The FMC is relatable and their personalities are incredible. This is realistic and gripping and a ride of emotions. This has twists and turns and I love how the characters grow over time and the story progresses instead of staying still. This is a wholesome swoon-worthy story. This has a lot of emotions that keep you feeling all your feelings. This story will keep you turning pages and I love that its based in a small town in Texas and that it was portrayed so well for someone who is not familiar with the area you can tell how much effort, work and attention she put into this.

Addie wakes up in a hospital in the middle of nowhere Texas having no idea where she is or how she got there. She appears to be running away from something, but what?

As Meant for Me unfolds, we learn just what drew Addie away from her life as an event planner in LA to a farm in Texas. She is taken in by a nice family who realize her need for protection and safety.

My only complaint about this book is how far fetched it is. Some of the plot lines made me roll my eyes a bit. If you don’t mind just your regular old story about a girl who runs away from tragedy to a new life she isn’t sure she really wants, this book is enjoyable. Tay Marley does a good job of conveying some pretty heavy topics and emotions.

This was a very enjoyable story. Addie lost her sister and felt lost herself. She decided to go to Texas. When she landed in Austin, she started walking around & ended up many miles away from the city. She met a policewoman named Raine who invites her to her family’s Sunday brunch. This leads Addie to meet the rest of the family and takes her on an unexpected path. Highly recommend reading this one to see how Addie’s story played out.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for advanced copy, and I give my review freely

This book blends romance, friendship, and family strife. The author hits just the right note on all three, which will draw you into the lives of the characters and potentially take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Addie is grieving for the loss of her sister. We don't know how she died until much later in the book, and once certain details are revealed, her attempt to disappear makes sense. Addie runs from her home in California to Texas and Georgetown at that. Knowing that the author lives in another country, I always wonder how well they will portray a smaller town in Texas and how closely the town resembles fact. While I think it might be off just a little bit, since Georgetown is a little larger than portrayed in the book, it isn't too far off.

The friendship between Addie and Zac grows over time. There is an attraction between the two, but it takes time to grow into a full-blown relationship. But I like that because many times, relationships are rushed. This one meanders, much like Texas folks.

There are several twists and turns, and fate has stepped in to give Addie more than she ever bargained for. To share any of that would spoil the book, so you will have to pick it up and read it for yourself.

This is the first book by this author that I have read, and I can say that it truly did delight. We give it 4 paws up.

First of all - thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to receive this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I requested to read this book because the cover is really beautiful and the storyline sounded up my alley.

Unfortunately, the writing was subpar and it was hard for me to get into the plot. Lots of tropes going on, the romance fell flat for me, and the combination of plot points just seemed unbelievable.

I think this book could have been great if it had more extensive proofreading and editing. Overall, this was a 2 star read for me.

I found myself still thinking about this book hours after I finished it and that tells me all I need to know about this story.
It captures you, compelling you to turn the pages until all of the words are used up.
Definitely a recommendation from me.

I appreciate receiving this ARC from Netgally. This book started strong for me, but in the middle, the storylines started to be all over the place. I feel there were some parts that deserved extra time and should have been developed more and other parts that the story could have done without. The ending was expected and sweet, which I loved. I mean…who can’t appreciate a happily ever after?♥️

This book is an emotional read that requires tissues and chocolate. Addie is a woman reeling from grief when she arrives in Texas. She left her home and the event planning business that she had shared with her much older sister and simply boarded a bus going east. Heartbroken and weary, a kind police officer, Raine, takes her under her wing and introduces Addie to her family. Raine’s brother Zac is not exactly happy to have city-girl Addie on the family ranch, as his city-girl ex broke his heart, but even he can see the sadness and pain in this beautiful woman’s eyes. Even as he acknowledges her beauty and his attraction to he, he becomes determined to bury it. Fate keeps putting Zac and Addie in each other’s orbit, forcing both to look further and see a different side of each other. As it happens, Addie is in no hurry to go home and Raine is in need of help in planning a wedding. When she agrees to stay and help Raine, Addie also agrees to stay on ranch with Zac and his father. The ranch becomes a place of healing for Addie and getting to know Zac is not just a distraction from her pain, Her love of plants is allowed to flourish on the ranch and her feelings for Zac and her new friends begin to deepen and grow. Then Fate or a divine being throws a few other twists at Addie that change everything for her and her budding romance with Zac. With so many twists and emotional upheavals, what will happen next for Addie? Does her future include Zac and a new home in Texas?

These wonderful characters and heartstring-tugging story grabbed my attention and heart right from the first page. Addie’s pain is palpable as her story unfolds, but slowly her broken heart heals. The twists and turns in this book sometimes had me in tears and sometimes gave me reason to smile, but always made me eager to keep reading to discover how or if Addie and Zac attained a happily ever after. I would certainly recommend this book to lovers of romance, but especially to those who enjoy emotional storylines.

First I would like to thank NetGalley for an ARC of Meant for me by Fay Marley.

I wanted to DNF this book at least 10 times and honestly I wish I would have sooner. If it was my personal book I would have, but felt I needed to give it a fair chance as it’s an ARC.

Personally I felt like too many things were happening to make it not enjoyable. Miscarriages, adoptions, rape/SA, grief, loss ending up in a hospital 20+ miles from home. Oof. This book is somewhat similar to Colleen Hoovers book reminders of him and I would read that one instead. This one is really forgettable and I was forcing myself to finish it.

Maybe I’m too big of a book slut but I needed spice or something. The way Zac talked to

After looking at other reviews my opinion is not that popular, so I think if you like these types of books you should go for it, but it wasn’t meant for me. <——see what I did there?

Meant for Me, by Tay Marley, is a must read for 2024! There is so much to love (and love to hate) about this book. The characters are all so real and even the annoying ones have a place in the story. The descriptions of people, animals, and even plants bring them to life and make you care about each one. There is so much going on in this book, and just when you think everything is going to work out, something else comes to light and mixes things up a bit. It was definitely a page turner, because, well, I just had to know! Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ARC ebook that I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

While it takes a while to get into it, this story was perfection. Zac is *chef’s kiss*. If you don’t like fate, then this is not the book meant for you. It truly is “meant to be”. While some parts are predictable, some are shocking. I loved it and it gave me all the feels. I laughed, cried, & had my heart put back together.

I do wish the intimate scenes weren’t in it, that is one of the reasons I like Tay. I didn’t know this was a new adult book.

CW: minimal swearing, SA, 3 descriptive intimate scenes.

*3.5

it took me a good while to be fully immersed into this story, but all of out the sudden i was hooked!!!

i love me some romance filled with allll the emotions and this one has plenty of that and more. i wish the actual romance between the main characters had a bit more depth into it and more scenes, but honestly everything else that was happening was just so heartwarming, emotional and sad at the same time that it didn’t even bother me much.

the secondary characters were so special and such a vital part of the story, i loved every second of scene with them. and i really really appreciated addie’s grief journey and how it wasn’t rushed in order for the main characters to be together right away.

this was my first tay marley’s book but it definitely won’t be the last.

There was. A lot going on in this book. It was hard for me to get into and hard for me to finish. I feel if it had one less trope it could have really locked in and expanded and really pushed it.
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy!

I loved this book! When Addie’s sister dies suddenly, she leaves Los Angeles and the life she shared with her and ends up in Georgetown, Texas. Addie loves to walk and walked until she collapsed. Raine, a policewoman found her. She took her to a hospital until she recovered then brought her home to her dad’s ranch for brunch. She met Zac and the relationship evolved. It is Zac who patiently listens to her and convinces her she has a reason to live. I loved the setting of Los Angeles and could feel the chaos that existed for Addie doing a job she did not want. Her time on the ranch was restful and I could feel the calm as she helped on the ranch. Willa, the girl that will become Raine’s stepdaughter once she and Milo are married, was a delight. I loved the way parenting was exhibited in the story. Wonderful characters and great story of forgiveness with twists along the way.
