Description
Sometimes you have to run away to find yourself
Reeling from the sudden loss of her older sister—her only family—Addie May flees Los Angeles without a plan or a destination, and ends up in Georgetown, Texas. Lost and alone, she’s taken in by some kind local ranchers, and there she meets farm hand Zac Ryan, who starts to cut through the grief and pain and show Addie that she has something to live for.
But the small town holds more than just a fresh start for Addie. Fate has brought her face-to-face with a piece of her past, and she can no longer ignore the parts of herself she thought she’d left behind. Without knowing what’s on the horizon, Addie must find the strength to move towards her dreams. Because healing happens when you let love in, and life happens when you start living it.

Meant for me
I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN. If I could, I would’ve read it in one sitting.
I would recommend checking for tw before diving in.
From start to finish, this book was the most WHOLESOME read. I cried, I laughed, I swooned.
This story follows Addie’s life after immense tragedies as she experiences grief, new life experiences, and love all while learning to heal herself. I love that the author showed that ultimately, it’s within yourself to heal and not the expectations of others to heal you. My heart absolutely shattered for Addie and all she went through. Her strength is unmatched. I wish I could hug her.
Zac. Truly a character who will go down as one of my most adored fictional men of all time. My heart did leaps for this man. He is everything. And why is it that i suddenly want to be called “ma’am?” 😂🫠
I absolutely adored all the characters in this book. It all felt so real, so relatable, and so validating.
Hands down, one of my favorite reads. It was absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful all in one.
I cannot wait to have a copy of this physical book. I already know I’ll be re-reading it right away.
Thank you Netgalley and Tay Marley for allowing me this ARC. Congratulations on the adult debut! Excited to read more from this author.
Well this book did an emotional number on me. This was such a well written book from an author I am so glad I have discovered. A book that navigated dealing with grief beautifully. Small town vibes as well... just an hidden gem of a book. I hope this gets the hype it deserves upon release in Feb 2024
Ugh, what a tear-jerker - this one ripped my heart out multiple times and stomped on it! Addie experienced way more than most people should at her age. While the chemistry between her and Zac was well-written, I wish we learned more about them...I would have loved more of his journal entries! Some parts lagged a bit, but overall it was a quick and enjoyable read - her writing style and topics remind me a lot of Colleen Hoover! Thanks for the ARC in exchange for my review!
All I can say is WOW!!
I absolutely adored this book, from the first page I was hooked, and I’m so thankful I got the chance to read it. (Even though it had me sobbing in places)
Meant for me follows the journey of Addie May who struggles through grief, adulthood and motherhood, set in the beautiful countryside in Georgetown Texas. Following Addies story of overcoming her grief and finding herself and love along the way was so sweet to follow and really pulled at the heartstrings.
I loved the scene building, the character building and the plot was fantastic, the characters were so easy to fall inlove with, I especially adored Willa and her character throughout the book, she was absolutely adorable!
I overall loved everything about this book from the writing style to the whole plot line, and it 100% deserves the five stars.
Oh my goodness this book reminded me of a Colleen Hoover novel and I was HERE for it! It had me glued to my tablet!
Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for letting me read an advanced copy and letting me review it. I absolutely fell in love with this book it tugs at your heartstrings (especially mine) This book captured my attention and I did not put it down. I love how it showed what grief is and how the main character went through her own up/ downs of how she was handling grief. I would 100% recommend and tell everyone to read this book. I cant wait until more people get to read it and what they think of it.
God, I am not an emotional reader but this book truly did a number on me. I cried so much. Tears of joy, sadness and grief. I fell so in love with the world and characters in this book.
I cannot stress enough how beautifully grief was discussed and accepted within this book, it kind of felt like therapy.
This book is about making the most out of awful situations, learning to live and finding family in others.
I have nothing bad to say about this book, I loved it. I will 100% buy a physical copy and read it to death because it brought me that much peace and comfort.
I loved everything about this book. (Maybe except Hanna😂) I easily fell in love with every character. It’s more than just a love story. It takes you through the ups and downs of grief and even parenthood. Just when I thought I knew what was gunna happen, twice, she through me for a loop.
