This is an endearing book about managing big feelings and rolling up your sleeves to help clean up your messes. It's a good reminder for kids that they are going to feel angry and sometimes not even know why, but that they'll also notice things like rainbows and it won't seem so hard to just get by.

I also love the vivid colors in the illustrations.

One final note...I have a son named Albie and it isn't common to see his name in books. He got a kick out of that. :)

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the copy of this book.

This book focuses on an angry monster, who is screaming, kicking, hitting. The monster and temper grows huge and causes earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods. He realizes he doesn't want that and that he has lost control. The strategy to use the five senses to calm and ask for a hug. This book would be relatable to kids.

Ohhhh. Lovely. This book is about how to control ones temper when it gets big, but it does it in a sing song rhyming pattern that kids will understand and want to help with. I loved this book, from the story to the illustrations. It is one that many kids will want to read over and over again.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

OMG this book is super cute and such an easy read! Love how it rhymes.

I read this to my 9 year old and although she did enjoy it. She is saying the target audience should be between the ages of 3-6. I feel like this would be a great add to your pre-k or kindergarten class.

I think other ages could also benefit from it. Teaches not to let anger get the best of you and ways to cope with your anger.

Thank you for allowing me to review this book!!

My goddaughter absolutely loves the Monsters on Mill Street! This is the second book we've read together and it's a great lesson on anger management. Albie definitely reminds me of my younger brother when he was little and I love the calm down tools the book teaches kids to use. I will definitely be buying the entire series for my kiddos. The illustrations are colorful and entertaining for the kiddos and the lessons and rhymes are great.

I read, The Angriest Monster on Mill Street, to my two children. We enjoyed the pictures, rhyming and message the book shared. I would rate this book an 4.5 out of 5 stars. This is a common message to be shared about being angry but what made this book more unique is how is shared grounding techniques (focusing on your sense/moving body parts) and ways to cope (ask for help, talk to a friend, ask for a hug. My cousin is a preschool teacher and I will definitely buy her a copy of Angriest and Bounciest! Well done, Sarah Sparks!

Thank you NetGalley and ViaNova for allowing me to read, The Angriest Monster on Mill Street in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for this amazing lesson for my 7-year old. My 2nd grader Zoe loved this book. She giggled and thought the book was funny like several of the others we have read by Sarah Sparks. This book and the illustrations were delightful as always and with the built in lessons would be perfect for a classroom or home library.

Wonderful story about how kids can learn to control their temper. Great Character to follow along as he learns how his temper can make problems and then he has to learn to control it as well. Beautiful illustrations help with the story. This is a good family read. Parents can discuss with their kids when they get angry and what they can do to help calm down.

The Angriest Monster on Mill Street is a cute, rhyming picture book about Albie, a monster who gets so angry that he grows into a colossal menace, wreaking havoc on his neighborhood. Albie finally realizes what damage he is causing to those he cares about and uses his five senses to calm down; he smells flowers, feels a cool breeze, and sees a rainbow. The rhyming is choppy at points but still easy to read. The book should help teach little ones how to handle their negative emotions. It is part of a series with a corresponding website containing coloring pages and a blog with helpful tips on minor childhood problems. This type of book is an important addition to children's libraries.
Thank you to NetGalley and ViaNova Productions for the ARC.

The Angriest Monster on Mill Street is a story about Albie, how his temper gets the best of him, and one technique he uses to get that temper under control.
My 5 & 7 year old both gave it 5 out of 5 stars.
The illustrations have a simple and endearing style, and the text's rhymes, while not always predictable, did engage them both.

Here are a few of the things they said about the story:
- "It's telling you to take some time to calm down and relax."
- "The monster is really cute when he's not angry."
- I didn't like "that he broke all the windows on the street."
- The rainbow "was really pretty."

We have sometimes struggled with inflamed tempers in our household, so this is a welcome reminder that there are things you can do to defuse your anger.

Note: I received a digital copy of this book in hopes of a review through NetGalley

Sarah Sparks' "The Angriest Monster on Mill Street" brings us face to face with Albie, a little monster grappling with big feelings. Albie's temper sparks a series of chaotic events in Mill Street, and as the tale unfolds through lively illustrations and playful rhymes, it becomes a captivating read for youngsters. Albie's emotions are easy to relate to, and the diverse cast of characters adds to the charm. Beyond the story, it subtly imparts important life lessons about understanding emotions and problem-solving, making it a valuable addition to the Monsters on Mill Street series.

In "The Angriest Monster on Mill Street", we meet Albie—a tiny blue monster whose rage makes him roar. But while letting out all that rage feels good in the moment, it's not so great for the people around him!

As one of the Mill Street Monsters series, this validates young children's feelings while also demonstrating ways to express those feelings a bit more productively (or at least less destructively!). The illustrations are colorful and clean, and the whole thing is super playful—I love all the little details, like a skull shape as a door knocker. I can easily imagine stuffed toys being made to represent these monsters, too. All in all educational while being very entertaining.

Thanks to the author and publisher for providing a review copy through NetGalley.

A colorful way of showing how kids express their anger and how it feels on the inside. A clever way to show them it’s okay to feel it and it’s a part of us all! It just matters on where we direct it.

Albie is a small but very emotional monster, prone to crying jags and angry outbursts. When his emotions get the better of him, can Albie figure out a better way?

Children often have a hard time getting a handle on their emotions, so this book will resonate with many of them. The book has a good message and is written in a way that children will understand. The whimsical drawings do a great job of conveying the story and the rhythmical text is pleasing to the ear. Overall, The Angriest Monster on Mill Street is a great book for teachers and parents to help children in controlling their emotions.
