The day Bean and I read this book he had an outrageous temper problem, so I found this book completely relatable. Luckily he doesn't turn into a giant rage monster like Albie, but this story hit close to home. Albie was destructive and made a huge mess, but he learned that this was not okay, and he didn't like it. So, he learned how to talk about his feelings instead of blowing up.

Overall, each book in this series teaches young kids that it is okay to be the way you are, but sometimes you have to make adjustments so your actions are not harmful to them, or those around them. We read these books 3 days ago and my son can not stop talking about them. He says these books are about him or they have a little bit about him in them. The art is adorable, and the books have a great message for the little ones.

Albie is the Angriest Monster on Mill Street! He had some serious temper tantrums!! Bless his little heart – he learns that angry is NOT how he wants to be – and sets out to change! This is a fantastic rhyming picture book full of gorgeous full color illustrations. It’s a fun read and seems even funnier when you read it out loud. thanks to NetGalley and Sarah Sparks for a digital ARC of the Angriest Monster on Mill Street in exchange for an honest review.

Super cute with a good message and reminders on self regulating. As the mom I love the rhyming lines, that it’s not a ton of words per page and it’s not long. Illustrations are nice too

This is a great Children's book! The book is all about a monster who hasn't learned to cope with and control his anger. The anger causes extreme rage and he causes a lot of damage. He notices that this isn't the way he wants to live, so he takes a step back through grounding techniques. I love that the book specifically describes how he regains his control through determining at what he can hear, smell, taste, and see. His temper subsides and he takes the time to clean up his mess and find support in his friends. Overall its a great tool to share with kids who need help with their temper.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

The Angriest Monster is so cute! My kids instantly were involved with Albie and his story. They lost interest in the middle, but came back around at the end. They even wanted to talk about Albie and his big feelings afterwards! It helped them and I learn a couple more ways to calm those big feelings down. We will definitely keep this one around!

Sarah Sparks writes silly stories in catchy rhyme.
They tell tales of monsters who are having quite a bad time.
They are too bouncy, too angry, or make a big mess.
Their habits are out of control and cause quite a distress.
Kids see their own problems and learn just what to do.
I adored these stories and loved the art too.

The Monsters on Mill Street series is adorable. The stories teach lessons in a fun manner with silly rhymes and even sillier artwork. Albie, “The Angriest Monster on Mill Street” has a monstrous temper. As his anger grows, so does he. The bigger his tantrum, the bigger Albee grows. Soon his enormous size in combination with his temper causes monster sized problems for all those around. When he learns how to handle his emotions, he shrinks back down to size. Children will learn with Albie, what to do when their emotions get the best of them.

This is such a good way to teach kids about how to manage BIG feelings so they don’t explode. Alvie let’s his temper take control and wreaks chaos in Mill Street. When he finally gets himself under control he realizes that he can reach out to people when he needs help to cope with his anger about something. Again, the art and text of these books is top notch and definitely will make reading them fun for parents and children. The skill sets they teach are subtle and understandable. Just great all around!

Sparks has described the angry that a small child might feel through a series of illustrations and rhyming text. As Albie’s, the little monster, emotions grow, they are uncontrollable and lead to a series of natural catastrophes. In the end, however, he learns some steps to control his anger. I think this would be a great book for preschoolers. I thank NetGalley and ViaNova Productions for the opportunity to read this ARC.

My 4 year old LOVED these so much that he asked me to read all 3 books one right after the other. Then we headed over to Amazon to see if there were more books and are sad to report that there are not. Though he does hope the author decides to write more books about the monsters on Mill street.

These books are super quick and fun to read. They rhyme and depict different monsters who are facing a struggle with a different emotion or task, of course by the end of the book the monster realizes they simply can’t have it be this way and they give kids simple steps to follow to resolve the issue.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to review this ARC with honesty.

I read this with my almost four year old that enjoyed hearing about Albie (bonus points since our pet is named that) who struggled with his anger. It was a unique take on learning to work through your anger by focusing to the five senses and the things around you to calm down.

My kid smiled at the monster finding friends.

I loved reading this book.
The story rhymes, and it just made me want to sing throughout the book.
Which made it a very fun experience.

I really liked the illustrations that accompanied the impactful story. And how, in just a few words, he conveys lessons for children to use in their daily lives, showing them in the exhibition.

A super adorable story.

Thank you so much to ViaNova Productions and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

Albie is small but his temper is huge, when he gets angry he can get large, as a storm rolls in and he gets worse, causing chaos on mill street. He realises this isn’t what he wants and has to find a way out of the storm he created.

This was my favourite of the three I’ve read in this series, it’s was actually really sad and very beautiful. Albie didn’t know how to understand or control his anger and it got worse and worse with each time it happened until he could no longer contain it at all. He didn’t want to be so angry but had no idea what else to do with everything just getting to him.

He caused such a mess with his anger, a flood, storm and tornado, but when he wanted to stop he took a step back and found the beauty in things and took a deep breath, he found friends and helped fix the mess. This is what makes this a perfect book for parents as lots of children have anger problems that they don’t understand or can’t control. This would be a great read to help them understand it and that they can find help, they can learn to regulate and let the anger out without it being a big anger ball.

The Illustrations are always beautiful within this book, the story still so imaginative, I enjoyed seeing the literal showcase of his anger and he he grew and grew, how the flood came from his angry tears. Such a beautifully done book, so much heart, so many sweet monsters and done in a fun rhyming story.

A cute picture book about controlling your anger and not letting it control you. The graphics were fun and the kind of rhyming words were good. I think kids will like Albie the monster and learn something at the same time.

The Angriest Monster on Mill Street written by Sarah Sparks and illustrated by Sypha Venders is such a great kids book! I am a psychiatric social worker at an elementary school and will be purchasing this book to read to the kiddos I work with. I teach all the kiddos I work with about coping skills and how they can be used when they are feeling big emotions. This book is a great example of the five senses coping skill :)

Another cute installment from the Monsters on Mill Street. The rhyming story contains a bit of silliness and a lesson learned, and the illustrations are adorable.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I'm looking forward to reading these with my grandchildren.
