A book that helps young readers to understand that sometimes our behavior when we are angry can be destructive. And that if that happens it is important to clean up the messes that were made and apologize to those you've hurt while throwing a fit.

This is very well done for young readers. As a mom with a preschooler who has big feelings, we enjoyed this one. New perspectives on how to view this and come down from the anger are well appreciated.

This is the 2nd one I've read with my son's ages 4 & 6. They both loved it. The book did a great job explaining the big feelings the monster was feeling and the mess and chaos that comes with throwing a fit. I loved that they gave examples of how to calm down and be aware of your surroundings to come down from the big feelings your having. The book ends with the monster cleaning up his mess and making some friends that can help him next time he feels this way. This book will be a great resource to teachers, therapist, and parents who have kids with anger issues.

This was a cute book. I appreciate that it sets the precedent that being upset isn't a bad thing. It's only bad if you let it get out of control and hurt others. Good lesson for a kids book. The art was also cute and captivating without being too busy.

This book, written in verse, is bright and fun… and helpful!

• It is designed to help children develop social-emotional learning skills and children will definitely recognize some of their own behaviors in the story.

• The Angriest Monster is all about controlling tempers. In the story, the monster’s anger created a lot of havoc. But even the monster understood his behavior was destructive, both to himself and others. He learned how to calm himself down and cope with his anger in a less destructive manner.

• This is a cute book with a great lesson. The book is 34 pages long and targeted at readers 3 to 8 years old. Perfect for any home or primary school library.

Thank you @NetGalley and ViaNova Productions for an eARC of these books, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I was able to read three books by this Author and in this series and I loved them all. This one helps children identify their emotions and I know that is hard for kids to do, so this will be a great read for every child! I will definitely recommend this to my patrons at the library!

This a cute illustration book and the story in it is so endearing. It's a simple story but full of meaning and lovely messages. It help the children know what angry is, how to controlled it and why it needs to be controlled.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange of my honest review.

The Angriest Monster on Mill Street is another great book in the mill street series. The author has done an incredible job of picking out behaviors that many children struggle with these days and write a story to help explain these behaviors and how to deal with them. I think that’s a huge issue with young kids these days - they have all these emotions but have not been taught what they mean or how how to manage them. So meet Albie - he is a monster that has a horrible temper and gets so angry that utter chaos erupts around him. Albie has to learn to not only control his tantrums but also fix the mess they cause. What I found interesting in this book is that it can show a child how big their tantrums can turn or be perceived when I often think they don’t realize how their anger comes across. (At least this is my experience some as a mother). As with the other books, the illustrations are bright, colorful and will definitely capture the attention of a child. The cute rhyming prose will help keep a child engaged and teaches some valuable lessons on anger management in a cute, entertaining way.

“But now when he’s mad, Albie knows how to cope.”

I really recommend these books to teachers and guidance counselors at schools. Great stories with great lessons in a way that kids will be able to relate to.

My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a colorful way to teach children how to deal with big emotions and giving them the skills to do so. I wish I had something like this when I was younger.

What a great way to show how big tempers can feel and help show children how other people see their tantrums. It really helps visualize and show that others have big feelings as well but that they have other options and to see that they question why Albie did it so they can reflect on their own actions.

The monster books are quickly becoming a favorite of my 2.5 year old! She was very worried about the angry monster, Albie and wanted him to be happy. It was so cute to see her make the connections!

The Angriest Monster on Mill Street is another installment in the Mill Street Monsters series. I didn’t care for it as much as the author’s other book, The Messiest Monster on Mill Street, as I thought it could be a little scary for some preschoolers. However, the story does convey an important lesson on controlling emotions — that seeking help with issues is sometimes necessary and good for one’s wellbeing.

As with the other books in the series, the illustrations are cute and colorful. I loved how the emotions were illustrated. Though it got a little scary at times.

The rhyming wasn’t as distinct in this book. So I didn’t find it quite as fun to read. But I suppose it had a lot to do with the subject matter.

Overall, The Angriest Monster on Mill Street was a cute rhyming book that is sure to convey some important lessons in anger management to the young ones. Four stars.

I received a DRC from ViaNova Productions through NetGalley. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

Reading this story during reading time for our homeschooling, it was such a hit. I really feel like it was fun but also gets the important message across in a way children can understand. Great book overall and definitely recommend.

This is a good children's book, which is about a blue monster called Albie, who gets so angry that he causes chaos around him. He has to learn ways in which he can calm himself down, and not be so angry, so that he is not hurting anyone.

The images in the book are quirky and fun, and children will love them. The text is in rhyming fashion, which my daughter enjoyed.

This book is part of a series. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

I am a HUGE fan of books that help kids learn how to regulate their emotions and this was is great! It shows both what can happen if your anger gets the best of you, as well as what to do when you are frustrated and need to calm down. We will be purchasing for our home!

The Angriest Monster on Mill Street is a heartfelt story about Albie, and how our anger, when we don't learn to control it, can cause a lot of damage around us. This book is written in catchy rhyme, and the illustrations show the story in a powerful way. After Albie sees the damage his anger does, he looks around to experience some of the positive things around him. As his anger recedes and he sees the damage it did, he starts to clean up his mess. While cleaning up the mess he caused around town, he makes some friends. Now when he gets angry, he can talk to his friends and manage his anger.

This is a fantastic book for kids who have anger issues, to help them recognize and understand their own feelings, to realize that the way they behave has consequences, and they learn that there are ways to help them control and release their anger in a safer environment. Wonderful story for other kids, too, as it gives them a peek into how to help someone else who is getting upset. Wonderful book!

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!

I absolutely loved this book! I loved how it portrayed what happens when we lose our temper and how it can affect those around us. one of my favorite parts was when Allie tried to calm down by using his 5 senses. This would be a fabulous book for kids at school. I absolutely loved it!

This book is an easy reading and the story is great and will be easily interpreted by children, of course with the support of an adult to help draw a parallel with reality and with what children feel when they are angry and the consequences that can arise from an explosion of emotions.
The illustrations are also interesting and accompany the text very well.

Thank you to ViaNova Productions, LLC for allowing advance reading of this book.

An adorable rhyming picture book to help kids identify anger and learn ways to cope with the roiling emotion. Pictures are simple, but help young readers engage better with the text. A great book to help children learn mindfulness and how to identify and work through their emotions.
