If you don’t like insta love, look the other way. Kendall and Vincent are all over each other from THE DROP. Is it realistic? No. Is it a fun/east read? Yes

A guilty pleasure read, reminisce to nights spent on Wattpad. A classic fluffy good girl and jock opposites attract trope. This book is heavier on smut than most would assume lol. A fun, fast-paced read. Would recommend if you liked ice breaker.

Cute and rushed.
Feels typical of a wattpad published book but sometimes thats just the genre you want to read. If you're looking for good character development and an interwoven plot that makes sense I would not suggest this, but if you're just looking for a fun read, pick this up!
Thank netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy!

Uh, I LOVED this. I am not always drawn to sports romance, but the premise of this sounded really good. Was it perfect? No. Was it enjoyable as heck to read? YES.
I can totally see what others are saying about the “insta-love” issue, I get it, but it didn’t bother me that much. I adored how bookish and cute Kendall was, and how literature tied in with their story. Vincent has self-esteem issues, despite being a D1 basketball star, and I can’t get over how sweet he could be.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable story for me.

I really enjoyed this read overall. I love a good romance switchup from my normal fantasy and dark romance reads. I would read more by this author!

Super quick cute read! The MMC was literally my favorite. The storyline was a tad bit predictable just because of the FMC’s “book nerd” persona and that she loved her life out like a romance novel. Other than that it was a fun read, great palate cleanser type book to read between those big books that keep your brain way too busy

I may or may not of finished this book in one sitting.... I 100% did.
Overview:
A sweet encounter between a bookworm and a basketball player turns steamy in the stacks after hours.
Kendall Holiday spends her Fridays exactly where she wants to ensconced in a romance novel in an empty college library working the graveyard shift. The quiet of the library is dependable, and gives Kendall an excellent excuse for skipping out on the loud, raucous start to the weekend. Lost in the pages of her favorite love stories, Kendall blocks out the world―until Vincent Knight, the school’s star basketball player, turns up.
Opposites might attract in romance novels, but it takes a lot more truth than tropes to make it work in real life.
Thoughts:
This was a super cute and fun college romance. I loved a few things about the book. I always look for strong side characters besides the main characters and we get this in the book. Loved the friendships that were built.
"You're hereby fired as my life coach."
We got a side of an athlete which was different than what I have read in the past. We get to see the insecurities played out on his side which helped build the bond in the relationship. There were lots of funny moments and the banter was also really good.
A couple of things I would have loved to be a little different or would have liked to see more of:
Miscommunication is a big no for me. I can do some of it as it helps build plot. I would have loved to see a little less of this. Some of the miscommunications also seemed too fast to happen and I would have loved to see this piece slow down in some spots. I would have also loved to see more connection between characters and really build into that.
Tropes/Themes

Omg this book had me blushing 😭🥰🫣
Kendall and Vincent are two cinnamon rolls you simply have to love and root for!
Can you expect a classic literature level of a tale? No, I guess not. Was I kicking my feet and giggling whilst I read those two dorks making out! Absofuckinglutely yes!!
This was just the perfect book when you just want to switch your brain off and get comfy under a blanket with a cup of coffee and forget about the world ❤️
This book gets my full endorsement!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me a copy of this e-book. This was my favorite romance hands down. So much fun and spice!!

Night Shift is a cutesy romance book with a classic opposites attract trope perfect for those looking for a quick and entertaining read.
The first half of the book is undeniably the strongest, where the author skillfully builds up the attraction and chemistry between Kendall and Vincent. The banter and connection between them are genuinely entertaining and relatable. Kendall's love for romance novels and Vincent's confusion in the library create a charming setup for their initial encounter.
However, the second half of the book takes a somewhat different turn, with the focus shifting heavily toward smut. While steamy moments are a staple in the romance genre, the overemphasis on them in the latter part of the story left me feeling a bit disconnected, as the plot seemed to take a backseat, and the story loses some of its initial charm and depth.
Despite this, Night Shift offers an enjoyable read for those who appreciate a good romantic setup and engaging characters. The chemistry between Kendall and Vincent is undoubtedly the highlight of the book, and it's a fun journey to follow.

This was compulsively readable.
This book follows Kendall, a romance book lover, and Vincent, star basketball player, after they meet in the campus library. I really enjoyed Vincent as a love interest - he was very sweet, but not in a way that was overly cheesy. The characters felt real to me and I enjoyed seeing the glimpses of friendship between Kendall and her roommates.
I just wanted more at the end, to actually see more of them after they were offically together.
Overall, this was such a fast-paced and fun read that actually made me feel like I was reading college-aged characters. Would recommend!

Genre: Romance
Age Range: NA
So as a college student, I love reading books with settings in college and this book was no exception to my love for the genre.
Things I loved about this book:
1. Kendall's love of reading - I love MCs who love reading because I can relate and Kendall's love of fictional characters was such a great addition to her character.
2. Vincent's attitude and the way he treated Kendall - He was so sweet with her and it made my heart melt the whole book.
3. The Friendships - I loved every single friendship in this book - I loved how real they all felt and I wanted to be a part of their group.

3.5⭐️ The Night Shift was a very quick read, I started it one morning in bed and a few hours later I closed it and realized that I was already 70% done! This story of two college students who meet in the 24 hour library on campus pulled me right in and was like cotton candy. I liked the description used in this book, I could totally picture where the characters were and the world they were in which I always love in a book. I loved how these characters were just young people figuring romance out for the first time, it was awkward and honest and sweet but definitely still spicy.
The Night Shift would be a perfect quick vacation or weekend read for anyone who is looking for a new adult contemporary romance.
Thanks to NetGalley, Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group and the author Annie Crown for providing me an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Love, Love, Love! I can't wait to see what else this author comes up with! 10/10 amazing! I truly enjoyed this story so much.

Thank you NetGalley, Wattpad webtoon book group and Annie Crown for the opportunity to read this as an ARC

Tropes include college romance, college athlete, he falls first, and insta love
This was such a cute love story. FMC is a book nerd who thinks her life plays out like all the romance books she reads. The MMC is a college basketball player who needs help with poetry. They fall for each other fast and hard. The author nailed the feelings of college students Who are young and a little immature who need to learn how to communicate, which was the main relationship problem for the couple who obviously figured it out for the happily ever after!
If you’re looking for a cute, insta love, college romance quick read I would definitely recommend this!

3.5✨ rounded up. This was super cute, was this the greatest book? No but the vibes were there and Vincent was hot and I devoured this book in basically 24 hours.
I loved that Kendall was a book reader but annoyed me as she was comparing our perfect Vincent he was out to be the bad guy when he was just our perfect gentleman angel baby.
Overall, had a fun time reading it! Thank you NetGalley for this arc.

This book was a great, quick read. The insta- lust factor was hot. It was a little bit of a slow burn at first but worth the read.

Sometimes Opposites are more alike then you think! This collage romance between a basketball star and girl with her nose in a book is beautiful. It shows that everyone can have insecurities and self doubts and overcome fears to fall in love! Spicy scenes are on point

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Annie Crown and the Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for giving me the opportunity to read and review this ARC!!
Let me start by saying that this book was so relatable!!
I always love when the main character of a book is a bookworm, so it made me related to Kendall so so much. I mean, girlie already got caught reading smut on the second chapter and she had to stop herself multiple times from romanticising everything. AND THAT’S SO ME! I loved the little book things and references like talking about tropes, or comparing her moments with Vincent to the unrealistic experiences that book characters sometimes have and cherishing the fact that they were more normal and awkward than said book characters.
Vincent was really cute and as I’m used to very confident (maybe a little bit too confident) and often dark characters, him being all nervous and sometimes awkward in front of the girl he liked was really sweet and like a breath of fresh air for me. Like FINALLY the male main character gets nervous for once! Also the fact that he learned poetry for Kendall and reading romance books just because she liked them was heartwarming <3
Their relationship was really cute and I really liked that they honoured communication so much. The more spicy scenes were fun to read and relatable, and also very realistic! Which I appreciated a lot considering they are college kids, and awkwardness and inexperience should be expected.
As for the side characters I would like to highlight Nina, because she’s THAT GIRL for me. I just wanted to personally thank her for calling Kendall out.
One thing I do want to point out is that I would’ve loved to see more of Kendall and Vincent’s relationship, and read about them navigating what it was like to be together. As well as I would’ve liked to learn more about their pasts and lives, because I felt like the knowledge I have of either of them is a bit too shallow. But both of these things were expected considering it’s not a really long book.
I also want to thank Annie for highlighting the misogyny that a lot of us readers (especially women) face for reading certain genres like romance! As an avid romance reader, I can’t even begin to count the amount of times I’ve felt judge by others for reading this genre, which sometimes unfortunately leads to me being ashamed of something that makes me extremely happy.
“*It’s sometimes difficult to be a romance novel enthusiast in a sea of academia and internalized misogyny that suggests the genre is somehow less important and less worthy of praise than literary fiction.”*
Overall a very light, quick and easy to read and wholesome book!!

Libraries are amazing places to be at night. In the dark all sorts of things can happen only it is usually in the pages of the books instead of in between the stacks. Kendall has every intention to spend her night shift at the college library reference desk in a steamy romance novel, but is forced into enacting the steamy escaped with the colleges' star basketball player. Kicking this Shakespearean romance off to a leaping start, the chemistry between Kendall and Vincent leaps off the page. Tension ratches up as miss communication complicates both sides.
I adored this book because I once worked at a library reference desk and could sympathize with Kendall. She was believable and well thought out character with Vincent being a surprisingly not typical star athlete. It was 2.5 hot peppers in the spice. One hot romance scene in a book store made me want to go running to the nearest used bookstore to see if I could find a cozy spot. I love mentions of books and romance reads as well. It definitely ticked all my boxes.
