I loved every minute of this book. Every. Minute. I started this at like 9pm last night and did not put it down until I finished it. It was cute (I'm talking giggling, kicking my feet), I cried once, and it had some damn good spice. I loved it. Loved. It.

Ahhh this book was so cute!! I loved Kendall & Vincent’s relationship, I felt like I was instantly transported back into college. Even though they did have some miscommunication, I feel like they brought that up and overcame it really well. All the side characters were amazing, I want a whole book about Harper & Jabari lol. I’m not a huge fan of insta love but I really didn’t hate it in this book! My only downsides is I wanted it to be dual POV so bad, I would’ve loved having Vincent’s thoughts!! And I wanted more basketball, give me the chapters of Kendall going to his games & meeting his parents! Regardless I really enjoyed this book & would highly recommend for a cute quick read!

This was fun, quick to read, and overall the smut was enjoyable to say the least! It was a quick plot and fast paced kind of story that I finished in one sitting. Loved the concept, enjoyed the characters, and vibed with the spicy scenes in this book.
Overall it genially surprised me! Thank you NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, this is a good book. It has all the makings of one at least. I don’t know if I was just not in the mood to read it (or to read a college romance in general), but I didn’t necessarily love it. It was enjoyable at times, and I found the spicy scenes entertaining and pretty realistic.
But that’s all.
This is a college romance between a well-known athlete on campus and a quiet girl who works in the library and loves to read spicy romances. It’s a sweet, sarcastic and fun read, but it didn’t stick out too much in my opinion.

Thank you, Netgalley, for sending me this ARC.
This was my first basketball romance and I loved it. Vincent is so swoony. He’s the star of the college basketball team and he’s studying human bio. Kennedy is this nerdy reader. She works at the university library and is studying literature.
He comes into the library, needing some poetry for a class and Kennedy happens to be working. They banter a bit…and then they kiss. You follow them throughout their story of miscommunication and their insecurities.
I gave it four stars because I thought some of Kennedy’s insecurities were valid, but I felt like it got a little immature at times. Their chemistry was cute and hot hot hot 😉
🌶️🌶️🌶️

THIS is how you write a college romance!
Equal parts swoony and sweet, Night Shift by Annie Crown is an absolute delight of a book. The characters of Kendall and Vincent feel so authentic to college aged kids, the play on common book tropes throughout the story were hysterical, and after several less than fantastic reads—it made me excited to read again.

Kendall likes books. Vincent likes basketball. They meet one Friday night while Kendall is working her overnight shift at the campus library. Sparks fly. You get the gist of it. And there is poetry involved.
I enjoyed the witty dialogue between Kendall and Vincent. Lots of funny, sweet, and steamy moments. I flew through this book in no time! If you are looking for something easy and steamy, this is the book for you! Thank you to NetGalley for this arc!

Loved this book!! It’s serving Sex Lives of College Girl vibes! There were some genuinely funny parts and super cute romance sections. It was also perfectly steaming! I think this is my favorite NetGalley advance I’ve gotten so far!

I received an advance review copy from @wbywattpadbooks on @netgalley for my honest review. I knew from the moment I saw the cover and read the synopsis that I would LOVE this book, and I was right!
If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would! It’s one of those stories that just sticks with you. Kendall is an introverted, in-her-head bookworm that I think we can all relate to in some way or another. I love that she lives her life through the pages of her favorite romance books and gets stuck in her least favorite tropes. It’s not long until you’re rooting for her to find her happily ever after.
Oh what can I say about Vincent Knight? I have a soft spot for misunderstood MMC’s and he worked his way right into my heart. He knows what he wants but is unsure of how to get it. His vulnerability is totally endearing. And when these two get together?! Fireworks.
If you’re a fan of Meagan Brandy’s “Say You Swear,” Elle Kennedy’s “The Deal,” or “Icebreaker” by Hannah Grace—you’re going to want to add this book to your TBR! Currently available on Kindle Unlimited and coming to paperback November 14th!

Night Shift is definitely a Wattpad book but in the best way. It was super adorable and the main characters, Kendall and Vincent, felt really relatable. It's a super easy read that was fun and gave college romance in a quick easy way. I wish that it gave just a little bit more than the surface-level information about the main characters but overall it was worth the read! Definitely get your hands on it when you can for a quick and humor-filled read that didn't feel forced at any point!

Vincent meets Kendall while she’s working the library night shift. They immediately hit it off but both are so alike they don’t know how to proceed. This becomes a theme throughout even though Kendall and her friends joke about miscommunication trope being the worst, a lot of it goes around.
I enjoyed Night Shift. The characters are young so they act young. But they also work on themselves and try to mature. There is a good bit of spice and honestly I wish this book were around when I was 21 because there are some good messages I could’ve used back then.

It was such a fun and quick read. I love that the story was fast paced yet you won't even feel that the story was rushed. Also a very refreshing college romance. It has just the right amount of spice. I super love the flanters (flirty banters) between Vincent and Kendall. Plus points to all the bookish references because they made this book even more enjoyable to read.
I love that the FMC is also a bookworm and reads smutty romance novels because guilty pleasures are part of life's necessities. Kendall was so relatable and I love characters whom I see myself into.
And just like Kendall, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘐'𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤.

I was so in to this book at first — I love the concept and the first scene between Kendall and Vincent. However, I could tell from the get go that the writing was a little rough, pretty YA, and a bit cheesy. My feelings didn’t change as I kept reading so I will be DNFing at 20%. It just seems kind of childish, I guess I expect college students to be a bit more mature and secure in themselves than how Kendall is. The writing is also not the best — it’s pretty choppy — and I thought Kendall’s roommates were incredibly immature and annoying. I’m not hooked enough to wait for the spicy scenes, but thanks anyway for the ARC! I know this took Booktok by storm so clearly there are some fans out there :)

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!
A quick stress buster of a romance. I don’t love Insta-Romance so I rated it a tad low for me. I did like that the female MC is a fellow romance reader though! Pick this up for a quick, easy read.

Honestly i don’t have much to say since this was a damn good time. All i’m gonna say is all the girlies were right.
This felt like a nostalgic reading experience for some reason.
The cute cover delivers a cute romance.
I had min expectations and enjoyed my time reading it.

Kendall doesn’t like parties. Lucky for her someone needs to work the overnight shift at her college’s 24hr library on Fridays.
Vincent is the captain for the school’s basketball team and needs help with a poetry assignment. After a flash in the pan flirtation between the shelves Kendall can’t stop thinking of him. But really what could he want from her?

I’m going to be honest. This is insta love, heavy miscommunication, light porn with plot type of book.
All of that to say this is the perfect pallet cleanser. I went in with no expectations and got a really fun read out it. The book is self-aware in a way that could be cringy but (to me) was always still funny. Kendall and Vincent are incredibly cute and while everything plays into what are usually annoying tropes this book is setting out to give you a good time and it delivers. I’m not going to tote it as a literary masterpiece but if you need a low stakes read with some fun (vanilla) spicy scenes this is a good option to turn to.
This ARC review is a touch late so good news for you it’s already out!

Night Shift is a new adult romance read. I'm not sure if it's technically a "novella" but it's a short and quick read.
Kendall Holiday is a book loving introvert who works at the college's 24 hour library. Vincent Knight is a handsome star basketball player on campus. The two cross paths when Knight comes to the library needing help with a poetry assignment. From there, the reader follows the duo as they both awkwardly stumble towards the beginning of a relationship.
This story has insta-lust, miscommunication (but with quick resolution), and FMC virgin tropes. My favorite part was Kendall's love of romance novels and how it both hindered, and empowered, her own romance journey.
Night Shift was a satirical at times, and quick witted throughout. Overall, a very quick and enjoyable new adult read with hints of spice throughout.
Thank you NetGalley and Wattpad Books for the free digital ARC in exchange for an honest, and unbiased, review.

Absolutely loved every part of this book. Great storyline great characters and the writing was outstanding

Things you should know about this book going in:
— it is not YA (I thought it was based on the cover). It’s actually NA and set in college.
— it is VERY steamy! Seriously, be prepared.
I’m very picky about books set in college because I feel like the way college is depicted isn’t realistic. The characters never attend class or study but somehow everyone has a 4.0, that kind of stuff. This was one of the better depictions, since both of the main characters do homework and read books and study. There’s also not a ton of partying which I also found refreshing.
Night Shift follows Kendall, an English major who has a work study job at the campus library. She doesn’t like wild parties so she volunteers to take the Friday night shift. One night, Vincent, star of the basketball team, walks in and asks her for help and the story goes on from there.
This is definitely very instalovey on both their ends, but I really liked both of the characters. I was worried Vincent would be just another meathead, but he was actually very sweet and considerate of Kendall. It was refreshing how open they were with each other.
I also found the book to be very well written and snappy. This is the author’s first book, so I was impressed by that.
Overall I really enjoyed this one, though it was a LOT steamier than I was expecting given that cute cover.

I devoured this book to the point that I didn’t want to go to sleep because I needed to see what happened between Kendell and Vincent. Annie Crown killed it writing Night Shift and I am still obsessed with it. Kendell, our lovable, smutty bookworm works the Friday night shift at the 24-hour library on campus because she doesn’t like people only to have the star basketball player come to her during her shift and ask for help with a poetry assignment. Naturally, they have to go to the stacks away from prying eyes and things get heated against the bookshelves.
Both Kendell and Vincent brought personality and amazing witty banter to the table. I loved the romance trope nods throughout the book getting called out in a way that felt funny and organic and not forced. I could honestly go on for ages about how much I love Night Shift, but I think romance lovers who like their spice should just enjoy it for themselves.
Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad Webtoon Book Group for the advanced copy of Night Shift. I adored reading this book so much.
