This book gave me so much serotonin! I did not think I would love reading a romance novel with only one point of view, but it somehow worked for this book! Sure, I would like to have Vincent's perspective, because I enjoyed his character that much, but it did not stop me from devouring the book.
It's such a fun romance, which plays on the usual tropes as our main character, Kendall, is an avid romance reader and thinks of her life as a novel. It was such a low-stake romance, with a puppy love interest and top-tier smut (!!!), and I'm just ready to consume more content about Kendall, Vincent, and their friends!

Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, W by Wattpad Books for allowing me to read Night Shift by Annie Crown. This book was so cute. I loved every second of this story. I finished this book in one sitting and it left me wanting more.

Oh my was this book fun! Short, sweet, and spicy! Our main character Kendall was a bookworm after my own hear. She works the night shift at her college campus library every Friday night, and brings her romance novels along. Just like myself, she lives in her novels and dreams of meeting a man like the ones in her romances. One night she meets the last person she would expect to see in the library: the basketball star Vincent Knight. Their first meeting was electric and the chemistry was established immediately. Right away, we learn that Vincent isn't who we would think he is. He is smart, kind, and very into Kendall. This opposites attract romance was very sweet and deeper than one would imagine based on the cute cover. I enjoyed this read and it's perfect for fans of college/sports romances!

Thank you to NetGalley and W by Wattpad for providing me with this advance copy in exchange for this honest review. Night Shift is available today (and I recently saw is available on Kindle Unlimited.)
This absolutely reads like a Wattpad book but honestly, it’s pretty cute and easy to read. Kendall is a bit frustrating as a main character - she reads a lot, so she knows all the tropes yet she can’t figure out how to even talk to Vincent, our hot shot star basketball player. I would call this new adult since our characters are in college, and there was definitely some immaturity written into them, which made them a little hard to connect with, as I’m a little out of that stage of my life. Overall, this was cute, and mad props to Annie Crown for getting this published - I’d like to see how her writing develops.
Thank you again to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC - this in no way affected my honest review. Night Shift is available to pick up today!

The cutest college romcom I have read in a VERY long time. This was cliche in all the best ways and had so many of my very favorite tropes and elements. Usually the “Attracted at first sight” doesn’t do it for me but I think for this cute story of the library girl and the basketball player it works so well. The pacing was excellent, the sex scenes well spaced out and not too much for the story. This was so much fun and o can’t wait to read more by Annie crown!

Kendall is an introvert and a bookworm. She would rather spend her Friday nights working at the campus library than partying. One Friday night the basketball team captain Vincent comes to the library I search of poetry books. This Friday night, life and romance change for both of them.
Cute and predictable story. Its a book that talks lots about romance novel tropes. And this one focuses on miscommunication. The female main character is very negative and judgemental, which annoyed me early into the book.
Thank you to Netgalley, Annie Crown, and the publishers for this free ebook. This review is 100% my own and honest review.

If I’m being completely honest, I’m on the fence of how I felt about this book and am unsure whether I loved it or disliked it…
On the one hand, it’s a sports romance with an adorably swoony MMC, has tons of bookish tropes and references, is spicy, has great banter, and features an FMC who sees the world like I do (through the lens of a romance novel). I found myself giggling and cheering for the main characters the whole time.
On the other hand, I found myself cringing several times throughout the book at the actions of the FMC (could my girl be any more oblivious??) and found the entire thing pretty rushed. I wish the author had spent more time dedicated to their relationship and interactions outside of like three main scenes. For example, since it was marketed and comes off as a sports romance (he’s a D1 basketball captain for gods sake), I would’ve liked more basketball and sports rather than just mentioning it in passing at a party or bookstore. Also, for a book that makes fun of and shits on the miscommunication trope so much, THERE SURE WAS A LOT OF THAT SHIT IN THERE. Like I understand that it’s supposed to be ironic, but I think an author who clearly understands how frustrating and annoying the miscommunication trope is wouldn’t jam-pack her novel full of it, even for the sake of irony.
In summary, I think it’s an overall decent romance novel but if you are looking for a sports romance or hate the miscommunication trope (like me), I would skip this one and read a Becka Mack book or something.

What a sweet low stakes book this was. Which is my current JAM.
Kendall is a literary obsessed campus library worker who is ambushed by the star basketball player at her night shift job at the library. In a moment of uninterrupted cozy seclusion, Kendall and Vincent (the hockey player) make out. But she's worried about aesthetics etc. her anxiety has drummed up a lot of issues and it spirals when miscommunication. Happens again and again.
Kendall is accused of storying EVERYTHING and I loved it. I thought it would get annoying but it was cool to see how her brain worked. How she called out stereotypes. And how she was blantantly in the real world and not her romance novels. It was incredible how awkward her and Vincent were and how they had trouble communicating because of their inherent shynrss. And the sex scenes were incredible because they were realistic more than anything. Both fumbling and awkward and laughter.
Was it insta love? Sure. But it was fun and sweet and not too over the top.
Don't know what I was expecting but it far exceeded my expectations. Cute lovely little story.
Also. Love the tall girl rep. (I am not tall at all but I love the diversity. Not all women need to cr dis th snd Kendall was the perfect iteration of soft and feminine and tall or gorgeous and gentle. I really liked her as a lead. O

This was a fun, spicy read. The author clearly knows her English lit!

I loved this book from the very first page.

This was a fun read and I really enjoyed the dynamics between the characters! I really liked how open and clear all the romantic scenes in this book were written, and how they didn't glamorize or hide any aspects of intimacy, even though it did feel a bit like the relationship moved very quickly for what it was based off of. One thing that I wasn't a fan of was the fact that the same thing was used to create tension in the plot several times, which got a bit frustrating because the characters didn't learn from their previous mistakes; overall though, Kendall and Vincent were very human and I enjoyed reading their story!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was a quick, funny, cute read. The main characters were relatable and charming. Overall it was a lovely romance with a good amount of spice.

A bit of a sports romance with a book lover and some spice!
This was a light, cute and easy read and the short chapters also make it nice and quick too!
Kendall and Vincent were so cute. I loved that Kendall was a book lover! I also enjoyed their friendships with some of the secondary characters which helped develop the story.
It was a fun and easy romance read- definitely add this one to your tbr.

This is a love letter to the After series by Anna Todd. This had mayor miscommunication and that is my least favorite trope. I wanted to like this more, but it wasn’t hitting the mark for me. Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for a review.

Sometimes all you need to pull you out of the depths of a reading slump is a goofy, ridiculously meta romance book about romance books and the people that read them ) bookworm x basketball player?? yeah I read this incredibly fast.
"I memorized poems for you because I wanted to be able to talk to you about the shit you like.” STOP ITTT 😭 that’s too cute!
This was SO MUCH FUN and despite the obvious silliness and some miscommunications, I actually really loved Kendall and Vincent's dynamic. Their banter was supreme and their physical chemistry was off the charts.
Just a plain ole good time that requires zero brain power and can easily be read in one sitting.

This book was a fun and spicy YA romance between a studious student librarian and the star of the college basketball team. As a former member of high-demand religion, I never had a "sexual exploration" period in my youth. I married young and that was it. While the story wasn't too deep or complex, the characters were enjoyable and I enjoyed reliving my college years vicariously through their budding romance.

I absolutes loved Kendall and Vincent. Cute story with excellent characters and writing. Dernety would recommend to fellow romance lovers ! Four and 1/2 stars!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of Night Shift by Annie Crown.

This book was a cute easy read, giving ‘Icebreaker’ vibes.
Bookworm meets basketball player? Say less.
I found it to be an enjoyable/bingeable read finding myself laughing throughout.
I love the female friendships (if found family is you thing - it’s a trope that I absolutely adore - then this is for you) Kendall and her roommates relationships is amazing.
I think it is safe to say, if you’re in a slump, this will be sure to pull you out of it!
Thankyou NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
