Freida has done it again! A book full of secrets, scandals, lies, twists and turns, and a whole lot of shoes!!! Unassuming Addie has a past, one that spells trouble everywhere she turns, but some things are not always what they seem.
Trigger warnings.

This book had me hooked from page one. A very common occurrence when reading Freida's books. Every time you think you know where the story will go, you get whiplash finding out a new piece of information. I have read all of her books, and I am fairly used to it by now, but even I didn't see that ending coming! Nobody is innocent! So strap in and enjoy the ride!!
4.5/5 stars and I cannot wait for her next masterpiece.

Absolute jaw dropping ending! Classic Freida. I got bored a little bit about 85% through but the ending made up for it.

What a great read and although I kind of predicted the twist at the end it was still a thoroughly enjoyable read!
It is fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat stuff that will entertain you from the beginning to the end.
I think this is by far my favourite read from Freida McFadden.
Most of the story is told from the viewpoint of Eve and Addie but how reliable are they in telling us their story? Can we believe everything they say?
You cannot but help feel sorry for both of these characters.
Eve is caught in a loveless marriage with a husband who does not desire her anymore and the only thing that makes her feel better about herself is an obsession with shoes.
Addie is a 16-year-old girl who has been through a lot starting with her alcoholic father and then the friendship with a teacher that ended in him having to resign and her being ostracized and bullied by the rest of the pupils. This makes her easy pray for someone like Nate Bennett.
She just needs somebody to understand her, to give her attention and show her love and unfortunately, it is this vulnerability that makes her easy prey.
Nate Bennett is such a despicable character that I felt like throttling him at times!
A very enjoyable read that I can highly recommend!
Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Penn Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion

Mixed emotions with this one!
I love Freida's books. The twists are great and I enjoy that I can easily get lost in her books for hours until next thing I know, I've finished the book. This book however, wasn't the same. Without giving spoilers, it gave a lot of "ick" that made it difficult to read thru. It felt very dark for her books, and much different than the others. I enjoy the multiple character naration throughout the chapters. I liked that it was divided into parts, the flow of the book was great. I did enjoy the twists and felt that everything was wrapped up nicely in the end and felt complete. The ending did not feel rushed, which seems to be the issue with a lot of books I've read recently (Freida's not included). She gives great imagery with her writing, I can follow along with her words just as though I'm watching them happen. I just didn't love this book the way I love her others, so I give this 4/5 stars.

This book was phenomenal! I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one setting. If you like psychological thrillers, this is a must read! I love all of Frieda’s books but The Teacher is my favorite thus far!

I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.
This book has several triggers, so be warned. If an adult engaging with a minor is too heavy for you, please do not read this book. The basic concept of this book is heavy and dark, and the twists are insane.
Holy. Buckets. This was bananas. I loved the chaos and tension. Frieda has such a brilliant way of telling a story that evokes many emotions.
The way she writes manipulation is so clever and so deadly. The characters in this book were so well-rounded and defined. I didn’t want to like anyone, but Addie captured my heart.
The way this story unravels is wild. It is a genuinely twisted, full-circle free fall. I liked how poetry was used and referenced without being “too” much.
The way Frieda uses literary references makes my English major heart happy. The deliverance of karma was deliciously devious and exquisitely executed.
This would make such a fantastic series if done correctly. Every element is so critical, even the minor details. This was such an excellent novel. The topic is heavy, and the idea of an adult telling a child they are soulmates gives me the ick, but this was done well. Frieda left so much up to the reader's imagination, which was well played.
My mind is still reeling from the final twist. That I did not see coming, and for that, I applaud you, Frieda McFadden.

3.75⭐️
I usually devour Freida’s books but I got stuck about halfway through because it started to get kind of stale. But…once I got a little farther into the story it really started to pick up and I finished it in one night. I did not see the twist at the end coming at all. That increased my rating a bit because I love to be surprised.

I’m honestly not sure how people are giving this book 5 stars cause about 50% of the way through I got such a bad ick from it that I almost DNF. Also, this is probably the most generous 3 stars I’ve ever given. It honestly might be closer to a 2-2.5. I think maybe Frieda needs to take a break from pumping these books out so fast bc this one just wasn’t it..
We get it, Nick is soooo hot and Eve is so plain except for her amazing shoes.. ok
SPOILER…..
Literally wtf at the end how we find out Eve is also a predator… how are you gonna talk shit about your husband being a predator when you’re one?? “Jay’s” wife and kids… nah just his mom and 1 year old baby sister that he babysits. Weird as hell for a direction to take in a book.
Thanks NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the E-ARC

As always, Freida doesn’t disappoint. A little bit of the story was ick but the overall twists and book was still great! She has a way of keeping me hooked from the start!!

I have now read all of McFadden's published thrillers. While I did enjoy this book it is unfortunately my second to least favorite book by McFadden. That being said, it is not a bad book. I think the main issue for me is that because one of the POVs is a teenager, a majority of this book read pretty YA. I also found aspects of this book wildly ridiculous. I am not saying I wasn't entertained.. however, I didn't feel this book hit as well as previous McFadden books. I also rolled my eyes at a few of the twists, especially the last one. I still think this book was a good one, just not incredible

More like 3.5 stars! I thought I knew what was going to happen and then all of sudden Freida throws in a twist!! This happened multiple times throughout the book. I absolutely ate this book up

This is another great “twisty” read by Freida McFadden. The Teacher keeps you guessing throughout the whole book…and then boom another surprising plot twist! Love reading anything by Freida McFadden!

I thought this book was, interesting, and it held my attention, so it was a very quick read. However, I was very disturbed, which I think was the point of the book lol There are many elements that deal with some pretty heavy topics, but I knew this coming into the book, well assumed, given the title.

Freida has done is yet again! I absolutely devoured this book. Twist after twist! Just when I thought I had everything figured out, she throws another twist in there. I don’t normally reread books, but I think an exception will be made for this one. She never disappoints!

This book was SO GOOD!
I loved the twists, especially the last two twists! Like wow👏👏👏 This book was a freakin’ adventure. I didn’t read the blurb of this book and that made the experience even more better!
What more should I say? It’s Freida McFadden who wrote this book. And she always gives the best to her fans!
The story was brilliant and the way it was executed was AMAZING!! Fast-paced as always and I loved the characters in this story. The tension, suspense, mystery, and not-knowing-what-for-happening kept me on the edge.
Also, can we take a sec and appreciate how brilliant this cover is? I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
I highly recommend reading this book and read it without reading the blurb. Trust me, it's gonna be great!
A huge thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Another amazing Freida book!!!
She’s a twist master!
Her books are always full of complex characters, deep plots and shocking turns.
The Teacher couldn’t be no less fluid and surprising.
A MUST READ for all thriller fans!!!

This is probably going to be in my top five favorite reads of the year. I am absolutely obsessed with this book and finished a few days ago and STILL cannot stop thinking about it. It was easy to get through, the plot, the characters, everything was just phenomenal. The ending, of course, it’s Freida, so obviously *chef’s kiss*. Again, I’m obsessed. And because Freida McFadden uses amazing narrators for the audiobook versions, I will also be listening to that to get the full experience.

The prologue has someone digging a grave to bury a body. The rest of the story is told in alternating voices -- the teacher and the student. To say more would be to reveal too much.
Even though I could predict some elements, there were many surprises and the tension and suspense was so great I could not put this book down! As a former high school teacher, I can attest that the situations depicted here are scarily accurate -- including the creepy parts. If you love suspense, this is the book for you. Read it!!

Wow! I am so thankful that I was able to do an ARC review for this. I could not put it down. So many twists and turns. One twist would happen and then two seconds later something else happens! It was amazing. Then the epilogue, my mind was blown! Freida has done it again, a perfect psychological thriller!

Lesson One: Trust No one
Thank you, Netgalley and @poisonedpenpress, for my copy of “The Teacher” by Freida McFadden.
The Teacher is a twisted psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. The Teacher is told through multiple POVs: Eve, a math teacher at Casham High School; her husband Nathaniel, a popular English teacher; and high school student Addie, who has had her share of trouble.
I will say that the author managed to craft a book in which I was not too fond of all three main characters but made me stay engaged the whole time. At times, I did feel bad for Eve and Addie.
Eve is stuck in a loveless marriage, trying to find the perfect pair of shoes to solve her problems. Addie is a troubled young woman who did not have a stable home life and perhaps intentionally ruined the career of another teacher.
If there were ever a character that was a walking ick, it would be Nathaniel. He is a master manipulator.
The story was a page-turner; I could not put it down. I devoured it. The story had so many twists and turns. One in particular made my jaw drop.
I would rate this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
