The queen of twists did it again!! Coming from a huge fan of Frieda fan this was one of my favorite twists!! It kept me on my toes and like true Frieda fashion you kept guessing what was going to happen and I couldn’t have guessed the plot twist it left my jaw on the floor! If you are a fan of her this one is a must read!
This was my first Freida book and I will be going to the store today to get all of her other books!!!! This book sucked me in from the very beginning and kept me guessing! Highly recommend!
The Teacher is a fast paced thriller that will make you want to keep reading more and more. It also has such a powerful message about the vulnerability of teenagers. What I really enjoyed about the book is that each chapter had me hooked and I wanted to keep reading. I honestly didn’t like most of the characters but to be honest, Eve and Addie grew on me by the end!
As always, the twists and turns and shocking reveals were there as they always are with Freida’s books! Thank you Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
I’m starting this by saying I read this book in a day. I’m an extremely slow reader so reading a 400 page book in a day is absolutely unheard of. That being said, I could not put this down. Literally was reading while making dinner.
I have this book 4.5 stars, the only reason it didn’t hit 5 stars for me is because it was a little slow to start. BUT once it hit 50% it was SO GOOD. The plot twists were absolutely crazy, THAT EPILOGUE WAS UNEXPECTED.
I love Freida Mcfadden’s writing. I love how much it hooks me in. Highly suggest reading this book!!
I think all in all this book was one I defiantly got through quickly, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. The characters I didn’t vibe with and I thought that the inappropriate relationship between the teacher/student was just a bit much for me.
Thank you NetGalley for a ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
Frieda never misses. This book was thrilling, a page turner. I enjoyed this more than what I imagined & every minute of it.
Freida always delivers. I say this every time, but this book? It just keeps getting better. With short, page-turning chapters I read this in less than 24 hours. I HAD to figure out what was going on! If you think you have it figured out, think again.
This book is on the darker side and does cover some sensitive topics. We have multiple POV (which I love) and it’s split into parts (Part 1,2 etc) Our two main characters are Eve - a high school math teacher and Adeline - a 16 year old outcast that attends said high school.
I had so much fun reading this and cannot wait for Freida’s next book. If you need a twisty psychological thriller, pick this up on February 6th. The twists keep coming until the very end. Thank you so much to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC! Five stars from me!
Wow wow ! Yet another favorite by Frieda McFadden!! Another twist and ending I did not see coming! I will be recommending this title to all who reads this genre of books.
Things I said out loud while reading this book:
"What the f**k?"
"Are you kidding me?"
"Are you f**king kidding me?"
"Jfc, Freida."
"Holy sh*t."
"Babe? Are you busy? Listen to this sh*t."
"What a f**king a$$hole."
"Oh. My. God."
"Wait... what?!?"
This is her best work and I cannot be told otherwise. It's a must read.
The Teacher was such a gripping, fun read! With Frieda’s roller coaster of twists and turns, it was just impossible to put it down until I read until the end. The epilogue is sure to have you picking your jaw up and absolutely no characters can be trusted! Will you predict the twist?!
Mrs Freida McFadden, how did you do it again?! I have whip lash from all the twists and turns in this latest novel. Addie is just a normal teenager or so you would think. I can’t wait to reread this and know what I know now. If you are looking for a novel to stop you in your tracks and forget what time it is you will want this!
I enjoyed this book. I got an early copy from NetGalley and was super excited to check it out. Freida’s books are always quick entertaining reads. I definitely didn’t see the twist at the end coming. Some of the things that happened in the storyline were a bit of a stretch to be believable to me, but it was still a good page turner.
Freida McFadden is the queen of domestic suspense and never disappoints. What I appreciate about her books is her use of ordinary, relatable characters -- like Eve, the teacher in this book. The tale of a teacher entangled with a "difficult" student is one of McFadden's best.
Eve and Nate Bennet's life seems perfect on the surface, but is it? And how does troubled student Addie fit into their story?
The opening line, "Digging a grave is hard work," immediately drew me in. The Teacher is a thrilling read with unexpected twists.
The pacing of the first half of the book is slow. It delves into difficult topics but keeps readers engaged. The pace picks up in the second half, although there is a major plot hole at the end.
Thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for a complimentary copy of this book.
Thank you to NetGalley, Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Round this up to a 4.5/5 stars.
Freida has done it again. In her usual fashion she takes you on quite the fun, unputdownable adventure.
This one delivered, gave my brain whiplash and then I literally choked (seriously, wrong time to be eating a cookie) where this story took a turn and it hit me like a gut punch. I do not want to give ANYTHING away for the storyline for this one but in my opinion it's some of her best work.
Yet again I realize being a detective is not in my future.
This book was HANDS DOWN.. 5 stars!
After a while you start to get used to Frieda’s twists and turns and become a little less shocked every time. This book however… was just as shocking as when I read The Housemaid. By 70 percent through I was still clueless with 0 theories. Also another mind blowing epilogue!! I’m so pleased with this book!
In my opinion, definitely one of her best books! Great read! Fast paced, thrilling, keeps you on your toes! Finished this one pretty quickly and had a hard time putting it down!!
Freida got me again. I didn't see that ending coming. I loved the characters and the twists and turns. Once again, another hit. Thanks for always making me anxious for your next book.
This was a twisty roller coaster of a ride that had me hooked from page one. Just when I thought had the whole thing figured out, Freida McFadden expertly turns the whole thing on its head!
This book follows Addie, a high school student who is bullied for something that happened the previous year. It also follows Eve who is a teacher at the same school, her husband is also a teacher there.
This books had so many twists! I was not expecting the ending at ALL!
