Thank you to Poised Pen Press & NetGalley for the ARC!

The Teacher is told through various POV, maintaining a swift pace with a captivating plot. The prologue immediately draws you in, and the storyline evolves into an exhilarating rollercoaster filled with unexpected twists, keeping you on the edge of your seat. Just when I thought I had it finished it out, I was mistaken! It was such a fast paced one, that will have you flipping the pages fast! Some may say the plot is unrealistic however still enjoyable & it’s entertaining value makes it worth the read. A definite page-turner, with the epilogue delivering a jaw-dropping twist that left me speechless. It followes the main characters Eve, Nate, who are a teacher couple and Addie who’s a trouble student at the school they were at. I literally hated each character lol. The characters were honestly all hard to trust and/or believe. I didn’t know who was telling the truth, or who was lying. But this kept me intrigued so I didn’t mind it.

Anything Freida writes im going to read! This one was no different.

*Trigger Warning for sensitive topics such as grooming and child SA.*

"Simply The Best!!!"

The Teacher by Freida McFadden was a superb psychological thriller, once I started to read it, I was hooked!!!! This book is so good and very cleverly plotted with brilliant twists and turns that will have you glued to you seat! and very hard to put it down! So be aware........all your plans you had for that day will be thrown out the window.

Welcome to the Casham High where the lives of three people - Nate, Eve, and Addie. Eve and Nate are husband and wife they're both teachers at the local high school. Their marriage seems to be perfect from the outside, but behind closed doors it was a different story.
Especially, when Nate starts showing extra attention to a young girl called Addie who is just sixteen, she's a struggling student and sadly been caught up in a scandal with other teacher, the year before at the same school. She did nothing wrong and is now a target of bullying from her fellow students.
Addie has no one she can turn too. Her mum is trying her hardest to keep a roof over their heads and working every hour she can. Her father died last year in a freak accident........all she had "was" a close friend, but she could confined in him, their friendship has declined and he is going out with her main bully.....

She has no where to turn..........Wow This book is So good and the ending!!! OMG - Brilliant - Well, the book was Brilliant.

I highly recommend this book.........I could hug you.

Big Thank you to Netgalley and especially Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC!

Thank you to Freida McFadden for writing a psychological thriller. I was lucky enough to get an ARC advanced Reader Copy from Netgalley. This book started a little slow as it puts its characters in place. Two teachers and several high school students lead to tragic events. I have to say I was able to guess the majority of what happened in this book. This book is the best Freida McFadden book that I have read.

The school year just started and high school junior Addie doesn't want to go back.. not after the events from last year still lingering around. This year she has Mrs. Bennett for math. Mrs. Bennett is a pretty strict teacher and she's married to the hot English teacher, Mr. Bennett. Addie doesn't know what he sees in her but we soon find out that Addie and Mrs. Bennett have something in common.

This was my first Freida McFadden book and I will say this won't be my last. As soon as I was approved to read an advance copy. I dived in with a taste for an exhilarating story. The Teacher did not disappoint. The prologue was enough to keep me hooked but the story and the twists is what made me love it. Just when you think you have the story figured out, a twist hits you that makes your jaw drop. I enjoyed reading this books and all my emotions that I experienced from curiosity to anger to disbelief. I can’t wait to enjoy more of Freida’s books.

This personally was not my favorite Freida novel, due to some of the topics in it. I will say that I was very curious as to what was going on the whole time, and finished it quickly. The epilogue definitely caught me by surprise!!

I do wish I would have liked this more, but it just wasn’t my favorite and that’s ok! Another great twist though. Thank you NetGalley!

I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

⭐⭐⭐ and a half.

I've seen a lot about this author in some of the Facebook Book groups that I'm in, but since she's been self-published until now, I've avoided reading them as I find that self-published books are generally in need of a bloody good editor and it irritates me. So, now that she's been picked up by a publishing house, I thought I would give it a try.

My honest opinion is this: it's a reasonable enough plot line that ends with a bang, as it should, so points for that. The epilogue does have an especially good twist. However, I felt it was overwritten in parts (each chapter does not need to end with its own dun-dun-duuuuuhhhh moment) and there didn't really seem to be any finesse in the writing itself.

So, my take is this: it's a story you won't have to think about or really concentrate on, but it is entertaining with some dubious characters that you'll love to hate.

Freida has done it again. I managed to get my hands on Freida McFadden's upcoming new release the teachers through an ARC from Netgalley and I must say she is definitely a new fave of mine.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book. McFadden's writing style is very fluid, making it very easy to lose yourself in the pages. She does a great job of carefully balancing each character's backstory with their present reality which allows for excellent character development. I found myself invested in each of the characters and wondering what would come of them. This read was thoroughly enjoyable and I was able to finish this in less than 2 days.

That being said, the subject matter can be a bit touchy, so I was grateful that she was able to strike a careful balance between telling us what happened without being downright graphic.

Now the parts that I wasn't too fond of. I didn't like the reveal in the end. I was first introduced to McFadden through her novel Never Lie, so the ending seemed a bit recycled. Also, it didn't really make all that much sense to me. I find it hard to believe that Eve, one of the 3 POVs in this story, wouldn't know who he was or wouldn't have run across him throughout her day. Details within the story suggested that she didn't, although I just don't think it's plausible that she wouldn't have, given who he was in a relation to the school. This is just a bit of logic that didn't quite fit the bill. For that, I knocked off a star and I'm giving it four stars.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

This book was everything that I was hoping it would be! So many head spinning twists that I had to take a break every few chapters and try to absorb all the chaos! The story is about a married couple that are both high school teachers at the same school who seem content and happy to the public but behind closed doors are struggling. I loved all the drama but for some there were many triggers such as grooming, sex, and violence. I would highly recommend if you like psychological thrillers, this book won’t disappoint!

Whoa! I’m always so shocked at how Freida’s endings throw me for a loop. I was positive I was beginning to catch on, but nope! I was completely wrong. Then the epilogue was the icing on the cake! I couldn’t put this book down. I wish all psychological thrillers had this amount of twists and turns! Once again, Freida brings on the a-1 thrill!

Wow!!😳 Oh my goodness!! I wish I hadn't loved this one, but I did! An amazing author that has always written books that catch me off guard, but this one tops all the rest. Although, you do have to go in knowing it is scandalous and unethical, as well as unimaginable. As a teacher, these are considered "Bad teachers" and please don't think the rest of us could possibly do something like this. LOL...
One student, Addie, is coming back for the new school year after last year was scandalous involving a teacher, Mr. Tuttle. He was fired after being accused of having a relationship with Addie. Addie says it never happened.
Eve, admired Mr. Tuttle and he was her math mentor when she started teaching math and found it hard to believe anything could have happened. After Mr. Tuttle tells Eve to watch out for her that she is dangerous, she is unaware how bad it is going to get. Her husband, Nate, has Addie in his English class, so this is about to get interesting when he feels his wife is being cruel to her.
Addie is bullied and found to be the blunt of everyone's jokes...cruel jokes. Her best friend Hudson even ignores her after he knows her deepest secrets. The twists just keep coming and the last one will blow you away with your mouth gaping and rereading it.
Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this incredible ARC in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars

I’m a big Freida fan. I like her writing style and her fast-paced thrillers with twists abound. This one is quite possibly one of my favorites of hers.

A 16-year-old student, Addie, has had a rough year. Her alcoholic father dies, a teacher takes her under his wing and rumors fly about an inappropriate relationship between the two of them and it all goes downhill from there. Addie and her best friend become distant, the most popular girl in the school targets Addie and bullies her relentlessly.

Mr. Bennett is her “very hot” English teacher and he takes interest/pity on her. She loves poetry and that is what he is teaching, in addition to the poetry club he convinces her to join. He is one of the schools most beloved teachers and he is married to Mrs. Bennett, a teacher most students despise.

The story starts out with someone burying a body, but you don’t know who. All of these characters (and others) entangle throughout the book. There are many twists throughout the entire book. The final twist left me with more questions than answers. So many questions- but it was so good.

Thank you to Freida McFadden, Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for an advanced E copy of this book.

WOW! Freida has done it again!

As a newer Freida reader, I have been devouring every book by her that I can get my hands on. This book had everything I was looking for! It included a wonderful amount of mystery and suspense, and kept me on my toes throughout. Freida is such a beautiful writer and I love her ability to allow the reader to connect with the characters in such an emotional way. I definitely foresee this being another top seller and chart lister for Freida!

This is my first Freida book and I am hooked!!! The twists and turns of this story kept me up all night. Every time that I would put it down I picked it right back up! The story is dual pov and honestly, it helps build the suspense. I have recommended this book to everyone!

I tried to write this review numerous times, but felt like I was rambling too much... So, please enjoy my very brief spoiler free review below...

Freida McFadden has done it again!

What can I say... from the prologue to the epilogue the mystery and twists of this book hooked me.

Freida is the queen of twists and turns! Just when I thought I had read ALL the twists The Teacher had to offer, Freida left me in shock with a gigantic twist at the end that I never saw coming. I literally messaged her on Facebook to confirm this twist!

Her twists and turns always get me! This book was absolutely wonderful!

The Teacher does involve a student teacher scandal/relationship which reminded me of My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell. However, The Teacher is a psychological thriller which offers a nice reprieve so that the content isn't too heavy, if that makes any sense.

If you're looking for something that will leave with your eyeballs bugging out and your mouth hanging wide open at the end, this is the book for you!

This was the most unhinged book I’ve read in a long time and I truly mean that as a compliment. If I’m in the mood for a bananas thriller, but one that provides a great escape and is a whole lot of fun along the way I know I can always turn to this author. Her plots are always slightly ridiculous and some things just work out a little too conveniently, but if you want brain candy this was a blast. The chapters are short, you get several POVs and with lots of twists you will have a hard time setting this one down. Don’t think too much when you’re reading this, suspend all disbelief and just enjoy the ride and I think you’ll have a good time with this addictive read.

*Cue Applause* This book was everything you expect from Freida and more. Nate and Eve, a married couple and fellow teachers at Caseham High, find themselves involved with a student named Addie, who they have been warned is deemed "trouble." The dual POV chapters has me turning page after page anxious to see what was coming next. The epilogue was INSANE and I definitely did not see that one coming, however it did leave me with some questions and a few plot holes in my opinion. Still a great read!!

⭐️ 3.5

Overall a great Freida book! It took a while for the thrill to start. I found the ending to be really sped up which is why I rated it 3.5 instead of 4 stars.
