Thank you Netgalley for this eARC. Going to say 3.5 stars rounded down to 3. This is not my favorite of Freida McFadden, I did need to keep reading and wanted to know what would happen, but not a huge fan of the relationships in this book. And that epilogue made me dislike pretty much every character in this book.

I’ve read a lot of Freida McFadden’s books, but this one as by far my favorite. The amount that anxiety that this book caused me with the amount of twists and turns was insane. I loved the multiple points of view that this book gives. I know that style is normal for McFadden but it was done so well here, and it made it impossible to put down.

Forget everything you know about Freida McFadden's writing, The Teacher brings us a book full of guessing.

If you think you've figured out the plot, you will be sorely mistaken. As with the fashion of a Freida novel, this book has twists at every corner. Freida's writing has taken to a whole new level and this book is testament of how far she has come. Although the topics covered in this book might be on the sensitive side it still grips and holds you tight.

I really enjoyed how the story of Addie and Eve unfolds and found Nate's character to be a lot more than what I expected in part 1. With a typical "student falls in love with a teacher"story there is actually a lot more too it and a thrilling ride is ensured. Well done Freida, I love it!

Thank you Netgalley, Poisoned Pen Press and the author, Freida McFadden for sending me this ARC to read and review.

In typical Freida fashion, she wrote another book I just couldn’t put down. Trigger warning for inappropriate teacher/student relationships. As a teacher, I couldn’t wait to read this! It lives up to the hype, although some of it predictable, I definitely didn’t figure out the surprise twist at the end! Thank you Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+⭐
The Teacher by Freida McFadden was insane! I mean AAAAAAAAA insane! I can't even express how lucky I am (and special (at least I feel like one)) to get an advance copy, even though it's 4 days before official publishing day! Anyway, back to the book!
YES! This is the one! This is a good one! Yes, this book makes you mad from time to time (but this is what we want - real feelings), and this book makes you question things (yes, it's happening even though you don't see this!)...
I just loved it... it's like a masterpiece between naivety and manipulation, it's like an archeologist digging into the unexplored field of lies and secrets...

This definitely is one of my top favorite 5 Freida books!

Eve and Nate are two married teachers in the same high school. They never fight, they never argue, and they look like a perfect couple.
Addie and Kenzie are two students who hate each other! Addie caused so many lies and topics of gossip but Kenzie the popular girl, the main cheerleader, the one with her minion army will do everything to make Addie's life a living hell!
Hudson and Addie used to be best friends but now he is with Kenzie... he is like a solder between good and bad.
They all are in the same high school but they don't have any idea of what is going on!

I can understand how this book can make people angry at the same come on, it's happening more than you can imagine! Just talk to your teenagers! Give them this book! Make this a must-read novel in high school! And this will solve many future problems!
I loved this book, I nearly stopped my day for this book!
Took me from the morning to the evening... but I LOVED IT!

Embark on a rollercoaster of suspense with The Teacher, a thriller that pulls you into its dark and twisty narrative, making it nearly impossible to put down. As a mother, delving into the unsettling dynamics of the teacher-student relationship was a challenging journey, yet the sheer enthrallment of the storyline kept me hooked. In this riveting tale, every character seems to elicit a visceral response, creating a narrative where disdain and fascination collide in a truly gripping fashion.

Thank you to Net Galley and Poisoned Pen Press for the Arc!

This book!!! I loved every second of it. I love how Freida's books are quick and easy reads but still hold so much darkness. I was so wrapped up in this story, I didn't do anything all day except read. This was definitely my favorite of FM's recent books and I just know it's going to be a huge hit!! 5 stars!!!!!

Wow! Freida has done it again. This whole book had me wondering and asking questions around every corner. Parts of it infuriated me and stressed me out, but I couldn't stop reading it. I needed to know what happens and how it all ended. The epilogue got me the most though. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I am so happy I got the eArc for this book and I can't wait for everyone else to read it! FIVE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

***NOT MY DESCRIPTION, FROM BOOK***
Lesson #1: Trust no one

Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except…

Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye.

Addie can't be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that's what everyone says.

But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet.

WOW! This is now in my top 3 favorites for Freida McFaddens books! She always gets me right from that first sentence. I came up with a theory like always, and I was absolutely wrong! It's wonderful that Freida has written many thrillers, and I am still unable to guess exactly where she will take the story. Sometimes I have correct suspicions, but not with this one. I'm almost always unsure of who I should like and dislike, unless it's Enzo. (IYKYK 😉) Back to this book though, it took me less than 24 hours to read. I couldn't stop thinking about how The Teacher would end, so when I woke up before my alarm the next morning, I devoured the rest of the book. Also, shoes and poetry. That is all. 😆

Check out The Teacher on or after February 6th, and it will be available on Kindle Unlimited as well as in stores! Thank you to Mandy at Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity!

This book had suspense from the very start and ended with a draw dropping ending. Freida McFadden books have set a standard for thrillers that I have come to expect and love! We were able to hear the story from multiple POV which really allowed us to get into the characters heads. The story follows a math teacher Eve who seems to have a perfect life married to Nate, or does she? Addie, a student at their school is returning from a major event from last year that is not known to us in the beginning of the book.

There are times while reading this book that I wanted to curse and/or punch some of these characters! The twists and turns are continuous throughout this story. There is something special about Freida’s writing that pulls you in!

Thank you, NetGalley & Poisoned Pen Press, for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Teacher by Freida McFadden is told from multiple points of view, Addie, the high school student; Eve, her math teacher; and Nate, her English teacher, who happens to be married to Eve.

There were so many lies, twists, and shocking moments. There were several cringy-worthy moments. I could not put this book down, I had to keep reading as the suspense was so good and the tension heart-pounding. I gasped out loud when I came to the end and the major twist and finally figured out how it all tied together. Incredible writing by Freida McFadden in crafting such a gripping novel and mystery.

I would recommend this author's books to anyone who enjoys sneaky antagonists, heightened tension, false clues, and suspense. You won't be disappointed.

Just a warning: this book deals with grooming.

One of the things I love about Freida McFadden is that when you read one of her stories, you never know which character to trust. The Teacher does not disappoint. It’s multiple POV’s. You have a student, who may have been a victim of a predatory behavior a year prior. You have a husband and wife teaching at the same high school with a marriage on the rocks. Between bullying, skeletons in everyone’s closets, and the prologue that promised us a soon-to-come dead body in the woods, the book is impossible to put down, until you turn the very last page. Add the twisty twist that concludes the story, and The Teacher delivers. You think you’ve figured everything out and everything is wrapped with a neat bow on top, and then the very last chapter and epilogue pack a punch. Loved it.

Another 5 star read from Freida McFadden! I read this in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. It involves the relationship between Addie and 2 teachers at her school. It is told from multiple POV, which always adds to the suspense. Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for the ARC.

Frieda doesn’t disappoint!
A book about how young women can be easily influenced by an attractive teacher. And how they are able to use their power to control the situations.
I enjoyed the twist that Frieda always has up her sleeves for her readers. But honestly the last one at the end I definitely did not see coming.
Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy

This was my first ARC! I’m a teacher and I usually stay away from media with student teacher relationships because they gross me out. I decided to give this one a chance because it’s Frieda. I ended up loving it. I think this is one of my new favorites. Everyone who has read a Frieda book knows there are twists. The very last twist got me. I don’t think I would’ve ever guessed it. Someone actually just asked me which books I’d recommend and now I know which is at the top!

I was so excited to receive an advanced copy of one of my favorite author’s books… but this was such a let down. The writing felt very quick and cheap, and the way that it centers around grooming was handled poorly. Sure, it had the plot twists per usual, but even those didn’t sit right, all the way through the epilogue. I’ll keep reading her future work, but I’m disappointed in this one.

I luckily got an ARC of this! Thank you Poisoned Pen Press and Freida McFadden vi NetGalley!

Freida NEVER disappoints!!! The beginning was a little slow at first but WOW it really picked up and I could not put this book down!!! And the ending in typical Freida fashion ended in SUCH a twist!! I did NOT guess that !!! 5/5 !!! It’s a must read!

Rarely does an author hit it out of the park every time. But Freida McFadden does! This may be my favorite of hers. The number of times my jaw just absolutely DROPPED! So many unexpected twists in this story of two married teachers, each who seem to be hiding something. I devoured this in a day. Thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this fabulous ARC!
