***NOT MY DESCRIPTION, FROM BOOK***
Lesson #1: Trust no one

Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except…

Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye.

Addie can't be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that's what everyone says.

But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet.

WOW! This is now in my top 3 favorites for Freida McFaddens books! She always gets me right from that first sentence. I came up with a theory like always, and I was absolutely wrong! It's wonderful that Freida has written many thrillers, and I am still unable to guess exactly where she will take the story. Sometimes I have correct suspicions, but not with this one. I'm almost always unsure of who I should like and dislike, unless it's Enzo. (IYKYK 😉) Back to this book though, it took me less than 24 hours to read. I couldn't stop thinking about how The Teacher would end, so when I woke up before my alarm the next morning, I devoured the rest of the book. Also, shoes and poetry. That is all. 😆

Check out The Teacher on or after February 6th, and it will be available on Kindle Unlimited as well as in stores! Thank you to Mandy at Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity!

This book had suspense from the very start and ended with a draw dropping ending. Freida McFadden books have set a standard for thrillers that I have come to expect and love! We were able to hear the story from multiple POV which really allowed us to get into the characters heads. The story follows a math teacher Eve who seems to have a perfect life married to Nate, or does she? Addie, a student at their school is returning from a major event from last year that is not known to us in the beginning of the book.

There are times while reading this book that I wanted to curse and/or punch some of these characters! The twists and turns are continuous throughout this story. There is something special about Freida’s writing that pulls you in!

Thank you, NetGalley & Poisoned Pen Press, for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Teacher by Freida McFadden is told from multiple points of view, Addie, the high school student; Eve, her math teacher; and Nate, her English teacher, who happens to be married to Eve.

There were so many lies, twists, and shocking moments. There were several cringy-worthy moments. I could not put this book down, I had to keep reading as the suspense was so good and the tension heart-pounding. I gasped out loud when I came to the end and the major twist and finally figured out how it all tied together. Incredible writing by Freida McFadden in crafting such a gripping novel and mystery.

I would recommend this author's books to anyone who enjoys sneaky antagonists, heightened tension, false clues, and suspense. You won't be disappointed.

Just a warning: this book deals with grooming.

One of the things I love about Freida McFadden is that when you read one of her stories, you never know which character to trust. The Teacher does not disappoint. It’s multiple POV’s. You have a student, who may have been a victim of a predatory behavior a year prior. You have a husband and wife teaching at the same high school with a marriage on the rocks. Between bullying, skeletons in everyone’s closets, and the prologue that promised us a soon-to-come dead body in the woods, the book is impossible to put down, until you turn the very last page. Add the twisty twist that concludes the story, and The Teacher delivers. You think you’ve figured everything out and everything is wrapped with a neat bow on top, and then the very last chapter and epilogue pack a punch. Loved it.

Another 5 star read from Freida McFadden! I read this in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. It involves the relationship between Addie and 2 teachers at her school. It is told from multiple POV, which always adds to the suspense. Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for the ARC.

Frieda doesn’t disappoint!
A book about how young women can be easily influenced by an attractive teacher. And how they are able to use their power to control the situations.
I enjoyed the twist that Frieda always has up her sleeves for her readers. But honestly the last one at the end I definitely did not see coming.
Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy

This was my first ARC! I’m a teacher and I usually stay away from media with student teacher relationships because they gross me out. I decided to give this one a chance because it’s Frieda. I ended up loving it. I think this is one of my new favorites. Everyone who has read a Frieda book knows there are twists. The very last twist got me. I don’t think I would’ve ever guessed it. Someone actually just asked me which books I’d recommend and now I know which is at the top!

I was so excited to receive an advanced copy of one of my favorite author’s books… but this was such a let down. The writing felt very quick and cheap, and the way that it centers around grooming was handled poorly. Sure, it had the plot twists per usual, but even those didn’t sit right, all the way through the epilogue. I’ll keep reading her future work, but I’m disappointed in this one.

Freida NEVER disappoints!!! The beginning was a little slow at first but WOW it really picked up and I could not put this book down!!! And the ending in typical Freida fashion ended in SUCH a twist!! I did NOT guess that !!! 5/5 !!! It’s a must read!

Rarely does an author hit it out of the park every time. But Freida McFadden does! This may be my favorite of hers. The number of times my jaw just absolutely DROPPED! So many unexpected twists in this story of two married teachers, each who seem to be hiding something. I devoured this in a day. Thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this fabulous ARC!

Wow!
The ending was a show stopper for sure! This book had so many twists & turns, but was not at all confusing. Clearly written & flowed extremely well.

I was so excited to be selected to read The Teacher prior to the release date!

Shout out to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC!

The Teacher is a fast paced thriller with multiple viewpoints- short chapters- but a lot of going on. All of these are things I love! (Busy mom- kids always needing something- you get it, right?)

Addie, a teen with a bit of a checkered history (I would have liked a Little more context behind that part of her character development) has no friends and is longing for some kind of acceptance. Her teenage naivety makes her relatable and sympathetic.

Nate and Eve- teachers at Addie's school are in a loveless marriage and both are detestable creatures of McFadden's imagining. I am pretty sure the only redeeming quality I found in either character was Eve's love of really good shoes- I can relate.

A bullied teen, a dissatisfied husband and a philandering wife make for a toxic combination.

As always Frieda has created a book that has all of the elements of a fantastic read. I always enjoy the easy readability, the twists and turns the characters take towards the book's grand finale, and the relatability of the characters (except, perhaps, for their more murderous tendencies that is!)

The ending of The Teacher leaves you filling satisfied that the person who needed to got what they deserved.

Although not my absolute favorite (I will stan The Housemaid always)- the teacher is a delightful addition to the Fried McFadden collection.

Eve, Nate and Addie.. a triangle of lies and deceit. Like most Freida books I didn’t see that coming. I love how fast paced this was, revealing a new twist every chapter with the final one never even on the radar. Another amazing five star read you won’t be able to put down.

The Teacher by Frieda McFadden was overall a 3 star book for me. I really enjoyed the fast pacing, short chapters, and progression of the story. I found myself not being able to put down the book, especially in the first half. The reason it only got three stars from me was because I feel like the ending was rushed and a little confusing on the timeline. Also, I didn’t enjoy the twist as a whole.

Thank you for sending me this arc!

As always I look forward to a Freida book! Firstly I want to say I found the subject of this book hard to read in places and give it a trigger warning of adult/minor relationships which is a big part of the story line and anyone who has children may find some of it tough to read! with saying that I devoured this book in 2 days
were the characters likable? No but then when are they?

In Usual Freida fashion the last twist had me pause mid-reading to process everything! woah how does she come up with these?
There were a couple of plot holes but that could have just been in the Arc version! I won't mention them as it will spoil the end!

Beyond amazing!! I finished reading this book within 24 hours - with a full time job and everything. Out of all of Freida’s books I’ve read, this one is definitely near the tip. You will be engaged from page one and you’ll never guess the twists. Highly recommend to readers who enjoy a good thriller! Clearly 5 stars!
