Wow!
The ending was a show stopper for sure! This book had so many twists & turns, but was not at all confusing. Clearly written & flowed extremely well.

I was so excited to be selected to read The Teacher prior to the release date!

Shout out to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC!

The Teacher is a fast paced thriller with multiple viewpoints- short chapters- but a lot of going on. All of these are things I love! (Busy mom- kids always needing something- you get it, right?)

Addie, a teen with a bit of a checkered history (I would have liked a Little more context behind that part of her character development) has no friends and is longing for some kind of acceptance. Her teenage naivety makes her relatable and sympathetic.

Nate and Eve- teachers at Addie's school are in a loveless marriage and both are detestable creatures of McFadden's imagining. I am pretty sure the only redeeming quality I found in either character was Eve's love of really good shoes- I can relate.

A bullied teen, a dissatisfied husband and a philandering wife make for a toxic combination.

As always Frieda has created a book that has all of the elements of a fantastic read. I always enjoy the easy readability, the twists and turns the characters take towards the book's grand finale, and the relatability of the characters (except, perhaps, for their more murderous tendencies that is!)

The ending of The Teacher leaves you filling satisfied that the person who needed to got what they deserved.

Although not my absolute favorite (I will stan The Housemaid always)- the teacher is a delightful addition to the Fried McFadden collection.

Eve, Nate and Addie.. a triangle of lies and deceit. Like most Freida books I didn’t see that coming. I love how fast paced this was, revealing a new twist every chapter with the final one never even on the radar. Another amazing five star read you won’t be able to put down.

The Teacher by Frieda McFadden was overall a 3 star book for me. I really enjoyed the fast pacing, short chapters, and progression of the story. I found myself not being able to put down the book, especially in the first half. The reason it only got three stars from me was because I feel like the ending was rushed and a little confusing on the timeline. Also, I didn’t enjoy the twist as a whole.

Thank you for sending me this arc!

***Eve and her husband Nate have a good life, Both are teachers at a high school.

Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye.

Addie can’t be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that’s what everyone says.
But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet… ***

***Thank you, NetGalley for the arc for an honest review!***

As always I look forward to a Freida book! Firstly I want to say I found the subject of this book hard to read in places and give it a trigger warning of adult/minor relationships which is a big part of the story line and anyone who has children may find some of it tough to read! with saying that I devoured this book in 2 days
were the characters likable? No but then when are they?

In Usual Freida fashion the last twist had me pause mid-reading to process everything! woah how does she come up with these?
There were a couple of plot holes but that could have just been in the Arc version! I won't mention them as it will spoil the end!

Beyond amazing!! I finished reading this book within 24 hours - with a full time job and everything. Out of all of Freida’s books I’ve read, this one is definitely near the tip. You will be engaged from page one and you’ll never guess the twists. Highly recommend to readers who enjoy a good thriller! Clearly 5 stars!

This was my ninth Freida McFadden book.. Freida is the author that got me back into reading last year.
I loved this book. I was convinced I knew what was going to happen in this book but of course I was wrong.
I don’t know how Freida manages to outdo herself every book.
The ending of this book had me in shock and the epilogue…wow!
Highly recommend!

Freida is so good at twists, her characters never even see them coming. I’m starting to wonder if she sees them coming! Her last book I read was the coworker, and I’ll admit it wasn’t my favorite. The Teacher was so much better! She has a way of keeping you reading bc you HAVE to know what happens. It’s a perfect popcorn thriller. It’s like watching a movie in your head and hard to put down! Are there plot holes? Yes. Are there really unbelievable things happening? Yes. Does any of that take away from the fun, absolutely not!

Fantastic! The story builds slowly but doesn't fail to deliver suspense and twists. The integration of Edgar Allen Poe's poems works really well. The very final twist was clever but I might have left that for another story - I'm still not sure what I think about it. I did laugh but I have so many questions. I think the ending might have been better without it.

Be sure to read the blurb about the content of this book before reading. There is one scene in particular that is pretty disturbing (and not in the typical psychopathic-murder sort of way.)

There were a couple of holes in the narrative that I think I caught. I'm hopeful they will be corrected in the final copy or in a future edition.

If you like Freida McFadden's books, this one will not disappoint.

Thank you NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press, and Freida McFadden for approving my request to read The Teacher in exchange for an honest review.

As a teacher, I was so excited when I first saw this title being released and knew I had to read it. I've always been a major fan of Freida McFadden, her books always have a great plot and the unexpected and unpredictable twists at the end always shock me. Well... The Teacher does EXACTLY that. Queen Freida has delivered once again!

The Teacher mainly follows Eve Bennett, a math teacher at Caseham High, and her student Addie, who was involved in a school scandal last year and is considered to be troubled. Eve's husband, Nate, is also a teacher at the school and when she expresses her concerns about Addie, Nate is quick to defend Addie and her behavior because not only is she isolated from her peers, it's clear that she is being bullied too. As the plot thickens, the lives between these characters become intertwined and in the worst way possible. You gotta read this to find out what happens because you won't believe it!

A twisty fast paced novel that keeps you guessing.

Eve and Nate seem to have a perfect marriage and good careers at the same high school. However, not everything is as it seems. Last year a scandal occurred at the school and one of the main students involved is in Eve's class this year. Eve struggles with how to handle this student while also being concerned about the state of her marriage.

Good characters, fast pacing and an ending you may not see coming.

Wow. She caught my attention from the beginning and held it til the end yet again. Word to the wise. Don’t start this book late at night because you’ll have a hard time putting it down. Student/teacher relationships and how they can be perceived, suspense, mind games…it’s all there! Just when you think you figured it out, think again!

Freida has won me back over happily . This work gripped me from the beginning and the twist just kept coming full speed. Nothing is ever what it seems with Freida. This story follows Two married teachers . The Husband is seen as the “hot” teacher that every teenage girl and staff member swoon over . Then the wife is a math teacher who is described as not equally as attractive as her husband . Their marriage is is broken in so many ways yet they both think the other doesn’t realize . Then we have high school junior Addie who is an outcast due to her appearance and a rumor . Addie latches on to the handsome male teacher and the twist begin. My mouth is still on the floor . This is a fast paced thriller that you won’t be able to guess the outcome. It’s funny how someone can set out to harm someone but the moment they are harmed in return it’s all gloves off .

Wow!! I love me some Freida McFadden, but this one has topped them all for me! I read it in under 5 hours. (Although, it wasn’t 5 straight hours, a lady needs her beauty sleep) From page 1 I was hooked. I was constantly guessing and re analyzing my guesses! It was so much better than anything my own mind came up with! Do not miss out on this book! Run to the stores! Definitely 5 ⭐️s!

THE TEACHER
Freida McFadden

What are your plans for this evening? Don’t pick this book up unless you have about four hours available to rapidly flip pages.

I received THE TEACHER late one Friday afternoon. I couldn’t wait to read it, so I started it right away. Two minutes in, the first chapter was done, and I knew whatever plans I had for the evening were canceled. Me and McFadden had a rendezvous, and I was ready.

THE TEACHER stars a handful of characters. Eve is a teacher, known at school as Mrs. Bennett. She is married to the handsome Nate, otherwise known as Mr. Bennett. Eve is a math teacher known for her tough grading and displeasing nature. Nate on the other hand is well-loved by students and keeps himself busy organizing a poetry club and helping wherever he can.

Addie, otherwise known as a big problem, attends the school where Mr. and Mrs. Bennett teach. This semester Addie is in both of their classrooms and what will happen this semester will blow your mind and is the plot for THE TEACHER by Freida McFadden.

If you’ve never read McFadden's book before, let me break it down for you. The writing is simple yet effective. The suspense is executed to perfection. I couldn’t read it fast enough, I was rapidly turning pages and had to physically force myself to take breaks and take a breath.

Parts of the book feel like Pretty Little Liars fan fic. Characters who go there and go there again. Characters who are bad and don’t care about being good. The kind of bad we all agree is a little good now and again.

I won’t spoil the ending. I won’t spoil the twist. Read it for yourself and come back here, tell me all about it.

THE TEACHER comes out on February 6th and if you see yourself alone or bored with the present company this coming Valentine's evening, I’ve got the best book for you to read to help you pass the time.

Thanks to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the advanced copy!

THE TEACHER…⭐⭐⭐⭐

Eve and her husband Nate are both teachers at a local school. They live a good life-she’s a math teacher, and he’s a respected English teacher that also doubles as the “hottest” male teacher at school. Everything is going well until both Eve and Nate see their class roster has the name of a girl that was wrapped up in a scandal involving a teacher last year-Addie.

I’ve read many Freida McFadden books, and this one was as good as the rest of them. She has a way of bringing out the goodness-and darkness-of each character in a way that works towards the twisty plots.

The Teacher drawls you through the book and you think you know where it’s heading until-like normal-the ending has one final piece that was unexpected. I read this one in one day and would recommend it to friends!

If you’ve ever read a Frieda McFadden book, then just know this is very on brand for her!!

I want to thank NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC!

I devoured this book okay! It’s told from a view different POVs but it doesn’t get confusing at all! The characters are relatable yet each has a mystery about them. The plot was amazing because it’s not what you expect at all!

The first twist, is something that could be guessed however the execution is so good and interesting that even if you assumed it, it is still an enjoyable read. BUT THAT EPILOGUE TWIST IS MY ROMAN EMPIRE CURRENTLY!

If you find yourself bored or “pushing through” any part of this book, please I beg of you, read it through to the end and read that epilogue because baybeeeee you will be staring at the wall internally screaming

As an avid Freida fan, I'm quick to jump on all of her releases. Again, she has blown me away with her roller coaster writing style. It grabs you from the beginning and won't let go, leaving you wanting to jump back in line for another turn. Bravo!
