Freida McFadden has done it again and quite possibly better than ever! This was SO GOOD!!! I could not put it down and absolutely devoured it. Freida is the queen of twists and the queen of making me forget all responsibilities to read her books. 10/10. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Multiple POVs; fast-paced narrative and a gripping plot; the prologue pulls you in right from the jump, and the story itself is a crazy rollercoaster of a ride with so many twists that keeps you on the edge of your seat; extremely far-fetched but I don't even care because it was that entertaining; a page-turner for sure; the last twist in the epilogue had me more jaw-droppingly shocked than I've been in a longtime; I feel like 5 stars is the only option to rate this big I just want to tell EVERYONE about it.
Major trigger warning for child SA and grooming (among others)
Special thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for a DRC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I DNF'd this book at 52%. For the first 50% of the book I was really enjoying the fast-paced plot. I am a huge fan of dual POV, which Freida McFadden does well.

I was very intrigued as to what direction this story would go, all the while keeping my fingers crossed there wouldn't be a romantic/physical relationship between a student (minor, under 18 years of age) and teacher. For a while it seemed like maybe the main student character, Addie, was just manifesting a crush, but nothing would be reciprocated by the teacher, Nate. At about 50% Addie and Nate's relationship becomes physical.
As a teacher myself, I decided I needed to stop reading. I did give it few more chapters to see if it would stop after the intitial scene, but it did not. I am not comfortable with minor/adult relationships being portrayed in media like books as a form of entertainment. I felt this could have been a story about a student with a crush, but did not need the physical element between a minor and adult.
It was disappointing to read this because I was loving the first half and have enjoyed what I have read of Freida's work in the past. I strongly recommend trigger warnings be included at the beginning of ALL books.

Well, Freida has done it again. Each book I read of hers is better than the last one. As usual, there are twists and turns you will not see coming. The ultimate revenge! Clear your schedule for this one. Because once you start reading, you will not be able to put this book down.

As usual, Freda McFadden delivers a wild ride with her new book, The Teacher. This is one I couldn’t put down and was a very fast read. Just when you think you have figured everything out, another twist! I didn’t think I would like this plot as much because of the subject matter, however she kept my interest and I was invested in the characters. Her loyal fans will not be disappointed.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of the book.

This was another crazy, twisty, can’t put down book!! I devoured it in a little over 24hrs.
The Teacher follows 2 married high school teachers and a student they both have in class. There is a delicate subject involved but I think Freida handles it well. Are some parts unbelievable? Sure. Am I reading a thriller for accurate events? Definitely not.
This was a fun ride and definitely worth the read! And that final twist was shocking!!
Highly recommend this one!!

31 hours is all this took me to read (I have kids and work). My jaw is on the floor right now! I don’t think I can even pick it up at this point. Freida has once again written another book that I didn’t figure out! She is literally the queen of suspense! If you enjoy thrillers, check this book out! It hits shelves Tuesday 2/6! #freidareadah #freidamcfadden #theteacher #karasbookkollective

I am going to be so honest the first half of the book had me CONFUSED on how this book was even a book. There as some QUESTIONABLE sentences and I was just.. “am I reading this right?” But once it started tying together I was flabbergasted and totally understood the first half. I was shook at the ending realizing there isn’t ONE innocent person in this whole dang book.

This thriller by Freida McFadden (one of my most recent faves - how does she release so many books in a row??? I love it!) is about a husband and wife that teach at the same school and a student that they both teach that caused a scandal the previous year. I especially liked the final quarter of the book but I overall didn't like the premise as it made me feel too uncomfortable. I would still recommend it but with a trigger warning.

I requested this book through Netgalley because of how popular this author is. The summary of the book is pretty vague. I didn't know what I was walking into. Luckily for me a friend of mine read this book before I did and she gave me a heads up. Had I known the book contained some of these things I may not have requested it. Here is a list of some of the topics you should be aware that this book contains: Student teacher relations, pedophilia, grooming, taphophobia, & physical violence. I typically do not read books that contain pedophilia or grooming. I decided to read the book and told myself that I could quit reading at any point if it got too graphic. There were times that I considered DNFing this book due to the graphic content of the book. I chose to finish reading the story. Overall the writing of the story was quite good. The plot was pretty solid. Had a few good suprise moments. Towards the end I felt the author got a bit over zealous and went a bit overboard with the plottwists. Though they made for an exciting and entertaining experience it made it feel unlikely and unrealistic. I'd give this book a 3.75 round up to 4 stars. Thank you Netgalley for sharing this book with me in exchange for my honest review.

Ok I cannot stress how much of a page turner this book is. I received the ebook as an ARC from @poisonedpenpress and I couldn’t be more thankful. As soon as I transferred it to my Kindle, I couldn’t put it down. The build-up of the story…the character development…the inappropriate-ness of half of the things going on…I’m doing my best not to post spoilers but I haven’t met a Freida McFadden book I haven’t absolutely LOVED. The very first sentence of the Prologue had me absolutely hooked. Now I’m eagerly awaiting the 3rd Housemaid…

Freida does it again with a gripping page turner that will make you question everything until the very last second.

You did it again! Absolutely amazing book! Multiple times in the story. I did not know where the story was going. I love the two part story. Also! The ending left me with suspense and I have so many questions!

Nothing is ever what it seems.
No one is perfect.
Nate and Eve may look like they have it all. The perfect marriage, the perfect little cozy house, the perfect careers. But as perfect as they paint their picture, no one could possibly know what was happening behind closed doors.
Addie is known for one thing and one thing only, ruining lives. She’s the talk of the school, and it’s hell without her best friend by her side… the best friend who can’t even look at her anymore.
Freida nailed this book. I lost count of how many times I audibly gasped while reading it. The twists in The Teacher are mind blowing, and you won’t regret reading it!

The Teacher ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a twist!!!
Eve Bennett has a good life, in fact everyone tells her how she’s so lucky all the time. She has a nice house, a good looking husband and a great job as a math teacher. The only thing she would want more of is money to splurge on her favorite thing, designer shoes. Or is it?
Addie is a student at the same high school and just happens to be in Mrs. Bennett’s class. She struggles with math (and isn’t a fan of Mrs. Bennett) but she’s super smart in English. She loves poetry and loves being in her English class. It also helps that her teacher, Mr. Bennett, is hot. She doesn’t have many friends or the best reputation at the school, especially after the scandal that happened last year. Maybe this year will be better, or at least she hopes.
I liked this one! That ending was a shocker and I had to go back a few times to reread it just to connect all the dots. Mainly because I was so shocked🤯 like really! REALLY!?! I also enjoy Freida’s books and the layout she has them in. I like the dual POVs and the now and then timelines. They are fast paced and super addicting. Some will say they are a little predictable, but I don’t care, I still like them!
I will say this book did make me mad only because of the subject that it contains with a highschooler/ teacher relationship. But there was a warning about that, in fact she even wants you to be mad about it. The author handled it with care and did not romanticize it, but portrayed it as how easily teenage brains can be manipulated by someone they trust. And she was right because I wanted to throw my kindle across the room after that ending. Ahh!!!
This book launches on February 6, 2024. Be sure to add it to your TBR, especially if you’re a Freida McFadden fan! Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press/Sourcebooks,
for my advanced readers copy this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks, Poisoned Pen Press as well as Freida McFadden for the opportunity to read and review "The Teacher" in exchange for my honest feedback.
Wow - Frieda has done it again. This could very well be her best book yet. My jaw dropped multiple times throughout the novel, and just when you thought you had it figured out - another shocking twist. When you pick-up a Freida McFadden book, you know you are in epic tell-tale that will leave you wanting more.

Eve and her husband, Nate, are teachers at a high school. Nate is a hot, handsome teacher, and the girls in the school practically swoon over him. He is friendly and helpful to the pupils.
Addie is a student in Eve's class, and also in Nate's class. She has a huge crush on Nate, but has a reputation of stalking teachers.
I heard so much about this latest Freida McFadden book.
The subject matter is touchy to say the least.
The book has everything, romance, illicit sex, attempted murder.... yes, everything contained in one book.
I did enjoy it, and devoured it almost in one sitting, as I started it at bedtime. Big mistake.
But I am left with questions. A few of them. Did Eve really not recognize Jay?
Nate's shenanigans, I mean, teenage girls talk about everything, and many of them do not listen to advice from adults! Deny everything if questioned? Hmmphh.
I know that personally, I am the worst liar. I blush and stutter, and no one would believe me if I had to lie.
I can't say more than that, as I don't want to ruin the book for anyone else.
Anyway, I did enjoy the book, and I did not guess the twist.
Well done, Freida, you have another book with someone with an obsession, this time it is shoes, not turtles!
Thanks to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read this book.

Wow!!! Freida has delivered another twisty masterpiece. The general storyline was easy to follow, and some major plot points were fairly easy to figure out ahead of time. But then you're hit with a haymaker in that epilogue. The way my jaw fell...I did not see that coming!
This book does deal with a subject that is very taboo, and that is the development of a physical and emotional relationship between a high school teacher and his 16 year old student. He tells her everything that the poor stressed out, psychologically susceptible/damaged young girl needed to hear to feel safe, loved, wanted, etc. It was so easy to take a girl that young and impressionable, who had grown up in an abusive household and was bullied at school, and make her do anything he wanted. Our MMC, Nate, is the very definition of a child groomer. Even though 16 is the age of consent in the state the story is set in, this is supposed to give you the icks when it comes to Nate's behavior. And his relationship with Addie is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the devious actions of his character.
This book was extremely fast to read through, which is something I love about Freida's books. I've read her entire catalogue, and enjoyed them all. The Teacher is a fast paced, twisty thriller, that you won't fully grasp all of until the very shocking ending.

For a high octane psychological thriller I'd give this book more than 5 stars!!! McFadden has really outdone herself with this book.! She weaves the story very slowly like a spider weaving its web and all of a sudden the story turns on a dime and it's a race to the finish! The ending is an OMG jaw dropper that you will not see coming!

I'm not sure what to say about this book. It was a fun, easy and fast read. I caught on to most of the twists early, except one. That was a fun surprise in the epilogue. As I said, it was a fun read, I kinda of knew where it was going, but interesting to see how it got there.
Thanks to netgalley, poisoned pen press, and Freida for the entertainment of the advanced read copy. Happy publishing day on 2-6-24
