This book really kept me guessing, as always! A lot of twists and I did NOT guess that ending! Honestly I did not guess any of the twists, which is not a surprise. Another great read by Freida!
This book quickly sucked me in! And the ending oh my goodness blew my mind and left my jaw on the floor! Typical Freida writing another stellar page turner! This book is in my Top 2 favorite Freida books!! Highly recommend!!
Only the second Freida McFadden book, but I will be reading more.
Love all the twists and turns in her books. And this one was no exception.
There were some parts of the book, that I didn't like. but for the most, I loved the book.
So if you are looking for a book of suspense, then this book is the one for you. The end surprised me. There were things about it I didn't see coming at all.
Eve Bennett is a math teacher, her husband and English teacher at the same high school. Their relationship is not what it once was. Tries to engage her husband. Her husband seems to be uninterested. Their marriage is stagnant. This book. Is told in first POV and there are three characters that we see those POV’s from. Eve, Addie, and Nate. Now I really enjoyed the coworker today that has been my favorite book that Freida McFadden has written. I have tried the housemaid, and I am going to try it again. But since it infuriated me, I soft.DNF’d it. And it wasn’t because it was bad. But some of the characters had me angry all the time. I will say Freida is very good at getting an emotional response from me. While I didn’t have the same anger in the teacher that I did the housemaid. She had my brain turning from the beginning, trying to figure out what the twists were going to be and trust me when I said the last two chapters had my mouth open in shock, because I was not expecting it. That alone is something that does not happen to me often and because of this, I am definitely giving this book 5 stars. I really hope Freidas next book is just as amazing!
The Teacher had me hooked from the very first chapter! Freida McFadden never disappoints! This book was full of twists and turns and that ending had me completely shocked! The way everything came together in that last chapter was 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻! One of my favorite books by Freida so far!
Accurate depiction of teacher-student relationships.
Fast read, easy reading, witty and humorous at certain parts. There are some plot holes and the epilogue is exasperating. But this book is written in signature freida style so fans would definitely be in for a treat.
Thanks to netgalley and Sourcebooks for this arc!
OH MY GOSH!!!! I have to say, this is one of absolute favorite Freida McFadden books!! It is right up there with the housemaid!! The Queen of twists has outdone herself with this one!!! The ending literally had me say 😱😱😱 OMG!!!
Thank you NetGalley for letting me have early access to this book!!! I will be buying this once it comes out to have on my shelf and to re read!!!
A book I will never forget!!!
As a picky reader who gets bored easily and will absolutely DNF if I’m not thoroughly enjoying what I’m reading - I was SO thrilled to receive an ARC for The Teacher! Freida’s books are not only fast and easy reads, but she keeps me engaged and wanting to continue reading the entire time! The Teacher was no exception and I finished it within hours. I held many theories, always trying to guess what twist she will get you with this time. While I came close in parts, she held high with twists and turns all the way to the very end that I never saw coming! If you enjoy a good psychological thriller, you definitely need to check out The Teacher!
I’ll admit this book is addicting - I read it in two days and it’s definitely binge-worthy and fast-paced. But I didn’t think it was that suspenseful or mind-bending and I’m shocked to see all of these four and five star reviews. The only twist that truly surprised me was the one that came in the epilogue. The writing throughout this book seemed very juvenile. I know the author was writing a lot of this from a teen perspective but it became painful to read all of the “likes” and “for reals.” There is also a major plot hole at the end that I can’t look past. I’m giving this book 2.5 stars but rounding up to three because it’s entertaining and binge-worthy.
Okay wow! I am a massive Freida McFadden fan already but… she has possibly written her best book yet. I am a sucker for multiple perspective novels, and she nailed this one! Both main characters (Addie and Eve) were unlikeable, until they weren't. The perspectives are running simultaneously so there is never any confusion on what is happening in the story. I also loved how Freida left a cliffhanger on every single chapter, it was never enough to stop reading!! Don't stop at the end of the book, make sure you read the epilogue for the twists to keep coming....This is a five star read for me and it makes me want to reread all of her other novels.
This was good! A quick read that, while slightly predictable, still kept me engrossed and turning the pages til 1:30 am so I could get to the ending.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!
You know what you're in for with a Frieda book, and The Teacher doesn't disappoint! The queen of crazy twists reigns supreme with this one, a wild ride with an explosive ending. Freida's fans will eat it up. Check her out on the Killer Author Club: www.killerauthorclub.com/killer-episodes.
This is definitely in my top 5 of Freida's books! It was so easy to read and kept me hooked the whole time. I loved it!

Blurb:
In this book we follow Eve and Nate, two teachers who are married and both work at a local high school, Addie a troubled teen with a recent scandal involving a wholly separate teacher from the previous year, Addie's ex best friend Hudson, and the popular girl Kenzie. As you try to untangle the web of stories weaved you won't believe how truly interconnected they become. This masterpiece will have you gasping and then breaking your neck trying to keep up.
As a huge fantasy and romance reader, I'm always looking for that perfect palette cleanser and this book was just that. I genuinely enjoyed this read but this didn't come as a surprise as I truly enjoy Freida's books.
I highly suggest snuggling up to binge it.
I am officially crowning you the Queen of Who Done It. Here is your crown 👑 wear it proudly.

Omg, this book is so good. I finished it within 24 hours. There are many twists that I've become to realize that is Freida's writing. I recommend this book to those who love thrillers and her other books!
⭐️ 5/5
WOW! Freida did it again. I was so caught off guard by the plot twists, especially the one at the very end! I never saw that coming.
I truly enjoy the way Freida McFadden tells a story and builds the characters. This book was a masterpiece!!
Thank you so much Poisoned Pen Press for allowing me to be an ARC reader! I am truly grateful.
As is usually the case with a book by Freida, the opening line sinks you in - and the narrator is talking about them digging a grave. The book continues and is told through the perspective of a few different characters- Addie and Eve, at first. Eve is a teacher, as is her husband, Nate. Addie is one of their students. There are several twists in this book, and my jaw dropped more than a few times. The subject matter of this book may be triggering / upsetting to some (teacher/student relationship.) It was a bit hard to read at times because of that.
I do love Freida's writing style, and I LOVE short chapters, so I was able to breeze through this book quite easily. I definitely didnt see the twist at the very end coming.
I also wish we got to know the real story about Mr. Tuttle, but that is never fully explained.
Thank you to NetGalley & Poisoned Pen Press for an e-version ARC of this book!
The Teacher is a story shown from the POV of Eve, a high school math teacher, and Addie, an 11th grade student at the same school Eve teaches at. Eve's husband Nate, is also a teacher at this school. The "hottest" teacher, actually.
Eve's life seems to be perfect. She has a good job, amazing shoes, and what seems to be the best husband in the world. Addie, not so much. During her sophomore year, there was a scandal between her and her math teacher. He was fired after parents were calling the school about the situation. Eve wasn't happy, as that teacher was her mentor. With this, Eve had a bad taste for Addie, but she had to suck it up, as Addie was in her class this year, as well as her husbands.
It's a no from me, dog.
This was my first Freida McFadden, and I can see why some may like the twists she brings to the table, but this made me have an awful taste in my mouth from the beginning. I felt as though the book was repetitive, over the top, and just so disturbing.
If you liked The Teacher (or A Teacher, I can't remember it) on Hulu, you'd like this.(there's your warning.)
SPOILER ALERT:
Here is your warning now, so don't read this if you don't want to know the ending.
Got it?
what. the. absolute. hell. was. that.
FOUR different relationships??? FOUR????? NO. NO. No.!!! The twists were gross and not at all your typical thriller. I regret accepting this ARC and forced myself to finish it in order to complete this review.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Freida McFadden never fails to have me on the edge of my seat. I've read eight of her books, and this definitely makes my top 3. Thank you to NetGalley & Poisoned Pen Press for providing me with a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review!
