The Freida twister hits again! WOW.
This book kept me in its grip from start to finish with turns until the very last page I did not see coming.

Freida strikes again with an unputdownable, unreliable thriller, this time with #metoo themes. I have read a lot of thrillers, but I can never tell exactly where McFadden is going. My only complaint is actually post-textual: the reader's group guide, if you were to use it, isn't super useful. A lot of it is "when this happened, did you see it coming?" Not sure I would use that component, but the novel itself serves.

This was the third book I’ve read by the author, and I liked it more than the other two (The Inmate & The Gift), but I almost dropped it around 50%. The only character that is anywhere remotely close to being likable is Addie, because she is a child, and it’s not her fault that the adults in her life failed her miserably. I absolutely hated how Eve treated her and even put blame on her at first for what happened. The final twist didn’t make much sense to me either. If “Jay” is who we are to believe he is, then how did Eve never recognize him… and why is there never an introspective moment to highlight the fact that she is honestly no better than her husband since both were having extramarital affairs with minors? …yeeeah, so this one got me riled up, but I finished reading it in a day and look forward to the author’s other works.
Thank you to NetGalley, Freida McFadden and publishers for the ARC.
(3.5 stars)

I keep thinking about this book as I try to put the pieces together. The Teacher by Freida McFadden has an unbelievably twisted end that you won't see coming.

This psychological thriller kept me reading because I had to know how things turned out!
The Teacher follows two women, Eve, a high school math teacher, and Addie, one of her deeply troubled students. In a Frieda McFadden book, nothing is as it seems.
I found this book to be pretty fast pace, medium at some points. McFadden does a great job of building suspense and tension. I found the characters to be complex, as they always are in McFadden's books. For the most part, I also believe they were realistic.
The Teacher explores themes such as the ethics and boundaries of student-teacher relationships, trust and betrayal, and revenge.
The reason I gave four stars was because there were some places where I felt things were too coincidental and I didn't find the ending particularly satisfying. There was also a loose string or two unless I missed something. In some cases the plot was cliche. However, I would read it again, especially after knowing the ending.
This psychological thriller is comparable to others in the genre such as The Silent Patient and The Woman in the Window, but it brings it own unique elements.
This book is perfect for anyone who wants something dark, tense, and mysterious. It is definitely a page turner but contains some graphic scenes and descriptions. If you are a Frieda McFadden fan I would consider this a must read.

Freida McFadden is the queen of plot twists, so I snagged the chance to get an ARC of this one because, hello, I am down for all things twisty in a book!
While the plot has been done before – two married high school teachers who both have secrets, including one having an affair with a student – this one was intriguing from beginning to end, and boy was that an end I did not see coming! I don’t want to give anything away, so I suggest going into this blind.
This is the perfect book to bring on your next mini vacation, or while you’re taking a break from the slopes. You can devour this in a sitting or two.
Thank you to Freida McFadden, Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for an advanced e-copy of this book for an honest review.

I have been Freida Mcfaddened once again! I was so excited to get the ARC for this book! I have read every single Freida book and this one did not disappoint!
The Teacher was a fun, twisted, unexpected thriller. When you think you have it figured out, there's always another twist to throw you off. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and an excited to recommend it to everyone I know!

Freida has done it yet again! The queen of untrustworthy characters and surprises.
Each character has their own set of secrets and some of them you would never expect. You think you know what’s going on but you have no idea.
The teacher kept me on the edge of my seat and I finished this in less than a day.

Wow, just wow. Freida McFadden truly knows how to write a twisted thriller . Though I hated some of the characters, I tremendously love Freida's writing style. Just when you think you've figured it out, its completely something else. I felt honored to be picked to read this before it was released and I hope I will get this opportunity again one day. Thanks Freida for the great books.

I recently read a couple other books by this author, so when I had a chance to get the ARC (thanks NetGalley!) I jumped on it.
It was a fun, twisty read! It was also really unsettling and icky at times due to the teacher-student relationship, but that’s a given when you read what the book is about.
The twists! I, of course, thought I figured out one and even though I did, there were several more and the last one I definitely did NOT expect.
There were a few things that kind of bothered me, but can’t really describe without spoilers and overall I had to appreciate the twists and overlook a few things which is why it’s not a 5 star to me.

This book kept me hooked. The twists at the end was amazing! Freida McFadden is one of the best at twists and this one was no different. I also put my review of this book up on my tictok.

Oh my gosh..this BOOK. This was my first Frieda McFadden book and I need to read her entire catalog now. I was shook to the very last page..her writing captivated me.

The one thing Ms. McFadden is going to do is keep us on our toes! I was engaged right from the beginning to the very last page.

Another book by Freida that does not disappoint! 👏 This kept me thoroughly engaged throughout the whole book and I could not put it down. Twists and turns all throughout. Definitely recommend 👌

**Possible Spoilers** This is a book about two married high school teachers who both have secrets. I'm usually a fan of Freida McFadden books, but this one felt like something I'd read before until over half way through. The plot of a married teacher having an affair with a student, meeting in a secret spot at school, telling the student his wife is awful & she is his soulmate, & on and on. I stuck with it because I just knew McFadden had to have a twist coming. The twists did not disappoint, especially the final twist in the epilogue! Not my favorite Freida McFadden book, but still worth the read. Thanks for the ARC. I look forward to more books from this author.

This book is soooo good. I was hooked from the first few pages. The story grabbed me from the beginning and i couldnt wait to finish!

This was probably more of 3.5. Thank you to netgalley for allowing me to read and review this arc. I like Freida McFadden. After the Housemaid, I will read anything she writes. I thought this was good. I read it in a day. Like most of her books, this was a really quick and easy read. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the Housemaid. It did have a good twist but I wish the ending was a little longer. The twist came so quickly, I had to read it twice to make sure I knew exactly what had just happened. The characters are all unlikeable but that’s a good thing. I think that was the intention because they are all really unreliable and awful. I almost wished this was as shocking as the twist in Gone Girl as it had a lot of those same vibes However, it was good. If you need a quick thriller to add to your book count, this would be a good one to read. I’ll definitely recommend it to my library patrons.

This was my first Frieda McFadden book and holy moly. I can definitely see why people are super fans. I will be adding this to our library purchase list for the month of February ASAP.

Thank you to NetGalley and Freida McFadden for the ARC!!
Every time I get my hands on a Freida book, I always think "she can't possibly do it again" & dammit I am wrong every time. I really thought I had this one figured out, but the end really shook me, I am still recovering. This book kept me invested the whole time & I had such a hard time putting it down. I feel like the highest point of the book fell a little flat but either way I still loved it!

Admittedly I went in thinking this was going to be a bit more of a thriller, but it's actually a domestic suspense. Highly recommend for fans of Frieda, this one won't disappoint.
