As usual, Freida nailed the twisty psychological thriller with this one! I did successfully have it all figured out before the big reveal at the end, sans the very last plot twist that came in the epilogue. This was hands-down one of Freida’s best books to date!

Twists and turns at every corner, this kept me hooked right til the last page. My first Frieda McFadden novel - won’t be my last!

This was such a good read. I thought I knew where the story was going but I had no idea. There were so many twists I was not expecting. I enjoyed the ending and thought it was an absolutely perfect way to tie everything and everyone together.

Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Press for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Freida has done it again. I truly love all her books and this one did not disappoint. Had my attention from the Prologue. Two teachers in a boring marriage each have secrets of their own. A young girl who thinks she found her "soulmate". Man had it not been for the holidays I would of had this book done in days. The way that it kept your attention just enough to want to keep going. Plus Freida's short chapters always make you want to keep going. Can't recommend this book enough!!!!

I cant wait to purchase this book when it comes out just so I can read it again some day!!

I keep trying Freida McFadden books in the hopes that I will find one that is OK< and I think this is finally the one!
Sort of. I mean, it still has problems, but she is definitely honing her skills over time.

This time around, the story centers around a high school, where a married couple, Eve and Nate, teach Math and English, respectively. Both teach junior Addie, who became a little fixated on a kindly teacher the previous year, leading to rumors that he was abusing her and causing him to be let go from his teaching position (even though nothing happened). Addie's father had died, and her best friend, whom she loves unrequitedly, has ghosted her in favor of the school's most popular girl, McKenzie.

Overall, the plot is strong, even if McFadden relies on tropes, tropes, tropes throughout. Eve is obsessed with shoes and uses shoe shopping as therapy. Nate is a young(ish), handsome Poe lover who runs the school's poetry supplement. Addie's best friend is a second-generation Polish kid named Hudson (really? Not Oleksander or Gregor?) who's nerdy but is a football star. You get the idea.

It was entertaining, if a bit far-fetched, until I got to the Big Twist at the end, which reeeeallllly beggars belief and, frankly, I have some quibbles about even apart from its "of course it's this person" deal, so much so that I docked a star. Still, a fast read, plot is better than most,

I don’t know where to start!
Part 1 I found to be kinda irritating, slow and somewhat cringey which I guess is expected when your reading about a teenagers thoughts, I wasn’t sure I liked the
Book… then part 2 happened and wow! What a change of pace, I needed to know more, couldn’t put the book down, what a twist, then shockingly part 3 came and blew me out of the water! The ending was completely unexpected I had to read the epilogue twice to make sure I was reading it correctly and oh boy was it a crazy rollercoaster ride

Freida McFadden does an excellent job of keeping readers on their toes for her domestic thrillers. That is what I love about her writing. You absolutely need to suspend your disbelief and understand that you will be encountering some of truly terrible people in her novels. Once you do that, though, you get to enjoy being on the roller coaster of her writing with all that entails.
This book is about a married couple, who both happen to be teachers at the same school. The husband (Nate) is handsome and everyone's favorite English teacher. Eve, his wife, is a math teacher and a lot more strict than her husband. Enter Addie, a student who comes back to school after being the center of a scandal that shocked the school.
It was a compelling read, I finished it in a day of two. McFadden is always fun for unbelievable (in the best possible way) domestic thrillers. I will purchase for my library, always a favorite.

Another great one by Freida Mcfadden that kept me on my toes! I always end up picking up her books and not putting them down until I finish it. Some parts were not so believable as to why I did not give it 5 stars. For example the Jay twist at the end had me confused!

A big thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Freida McFadden for allowing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have really grown to love Freida McFadden! This was a good one. A married couple of teachers and a 16 yo girl who falls in love with one of the teachers. The rest is a fast ride that I couldn't put down. Don't want to give away any spoilers. But I liked the ending and even the epilogue was great.

Another awesome read from Freida! I enjoyed the characters in this and of course twist at the end. I can see this being a lifetime movie. Definitely one I would reread and I have only done that with a few books! Thanks Netggalley, Freida and Poison Pen Press for the chance to read and review!

Eve is a maths teacher at Caseman high school. She is married to a very handsome Nathenial who is an English teacher at the same school. People say that Eve is lucky to be married to Nathenial as she is a plain Jane and nothing to write home about. She also has a fetish buying very expensive shoes.
They both teach a student called Addie. Who last year was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teacher. The teacher who was later fired. Eve warned Nathaniel of occurred to make sure that it does not happen again. But it is easier said than done when Addie develops a fixation to her teacher.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of ‘The Teacher’. Ms Fadden has done it again with ‘The Teacher’. Another fabulous read from the author. Another tense thriller with the authors trademark twists that kept me reading to the small hours of the morning. Yes at times it was a bit farfetched but that didn’t deter me from reading. I couldn’t put this down. I loved it and yet again, I thought it figured it out when it came that explosive twists at the end. 5 stars from me.

Wow! This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and turning pages to see the end. Two teachers are married and in a boring relationship. The wife begins an affair with a shoe salesman and the husband begins seeing a student. In the end the husband has had lots of relationships with students . A really great read.

I felt this one was a bit slow at times in the middle of the book and picked up again toward the end. As a teacher myself I was hoping for a unique thriller based on a teachers daily life, but I am not a fan of the student/teacher sexual relationship storyline. That being said, I love Freida’s writing style. Having read all of her books this wasn’t my favorite of hers but still worth the read.

Holy s*** this book was a wild ride. This was my first book I've read by McFadden and it did not disappoint. I could not put this book down and just had to keep reading. It's chock full of twists and characters you'll hate but can't stop reading about how f***** up their lives are. Wow wow wow.

This is my fourth Freida McFadden book I’ve read this year and certainly won’t be my last! So far, all her books that I’ve read have been enjoyably addicting, quite the page-turner with the crazy twists, and without a doubt, always end up reading it in one-sitting! Whenever I see a Freida McFadden book on NetGalley, I click request without turning back! It’s so hard to review her books because there’s so much to say but don’t want to give anything away!! Thank you to NetGalley for the advance reader copy!

The Teacher is a dark read and at times due to the subject matter, uncomfortable. It revolves around a high school teacher couple, Eve and Nate. As described, Eve is known to be the strict and stern Math teacher and Nate, the charming and handsome English teacher. While Eve and Nate have their own challenges in their marriage and life, more problems arise in their classrooms due to a student they share named Addie. Accusations and scandals follow Addie from her past and continue to throughout The Teacher. Readers will be captivated by the twists and turns and the multiple POVs to try and grasp everything Freida throws at you - can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Wow! Great plot with excellent character development. McFadden knows how to weave a tale and this is one of her finest. Lots of twists and turns, and a story you won’t be able to put down. A husband and wife, both teachers, and both teaching in the same high school. Perfect careers, right? Hmmm, something seems to be a little off kilter. You will be flipping pages until you come to the crashing ending. Don’t Miss this one, it’s a keeper. Thank You To NetGalley, The Author Freida McFadden and The Publisher Poisoned Pen Press for allowing me to read this great novel for my honest review.

Oh my goodness! The moment I lay eyes on any Freida McFadden book, I find myself canceling everything in my life. Even in the midst of preparing Christmas dinner, with invited friends and a few accidental crisps due to my divided attention—I just can't resist diving into more chapters.

Her latest book should be promoted as the literary equivalent of Pringles: once you pop open the book, there's no stopping!

"Teacher" may have its faults, like plot holes, far-fetched twists, and characters you'd rather punch, curse, and scream at than care about, especially when bad things happen to them. Yet, it's undeniably addictive, with an extra-fast pace that keeps you entertained. I caught myself nervously laughing at the end of chapters, and thankfully, the final twist was a masterpiece. No one could see that coming, not even those with strong spidey senses and detective skills like me, who typically ruin surprises by revealing the killer in the middle of movies. I must applaud Freida McFadden; that amazing conclusion had me singing Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do"!

Now, let's delve into the main story, centered around three highly antipathetic characters: Eve, a math teacher happily married to the very handsome and older Nathaniel, an English teacher at Caseman High School. People give Eve side-eyes, assuming she's too lucky to have lured a man like Nate with her mediocre looks. However, behind closed doors, nothing is as it seems. Her husband touches her monthly as a mandatory activity, and they grow estranged each day, fueling her obsession to buy more expensive shoes and hoard them in secret places around the house.

It appears everyone is enchanted by her husband's charm. But when a problematic student named Addie is assigned to both her and her husband's class, Eve realizes she needs to be cautious. Addie is the reason one of her favorite teachers resigned due to inappropriate behaviors. Did the teacher truly touch that girl, or was she the stalker ruining the man's life? What if Addie sets her eyes on her husband? What if things spiral out of control?

I'll stop here to avoid spoiling your reading experience. Despite its shortcomings, I had an amazing, highly entertaining time with this thriller. Especially in the second half, things get so batshit crazy that you keep telling yourself, "no way," but yes way—it's a ride of expecting the unexpected! I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars to a solid 4; it's unputdownable, twisty, and well-executed.

I eagerly look forward to reading the next addictive book by the author, including the third book of Millie the Housemaid.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press/Sourcebooks for sharing this wonderful book's digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Freida McFadden is a physician specializing in brain injury. She writes psychological thrillers. I have read a couple and really enjoyed them. I was excited to read this story and review it. Unfortunately, I didn't find this story very exciting. The premise, a student-teacher relationship was a bit disturbing, but a psychological thriller it wasn't. The main characters, teachers Nate and Eve, and student Addie were rather predictable, as was the storyline. As usual, Freida had a twist at the end of the story which usually adds a lot of interest to a story. But in this case the twist had a blaring hole in it. Definitely not my favorite Freidan McFadden book.

This is a compulsively readable thriller that sucks you in right from the beginning. I enjoyed the pace of the story however there were some unbelievable parts. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. #TheTeacher #FreidaMcFadden #NetGalley

Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for allowing me to read an ARC of this book. This is only the second book I've read by this author, and she is quickly becoming a favorite. The three main characters, Nate, Eve, and Addie have their own distinct voice. Nate is the handsome, easy-going English teacher. Eve, his wife, is the strict Math teacher, and Addie is the school pariah after an incident that happened the year before. I won't give any spoilers, but this book hooked me from the beginning, I couldn't put it down; I finished it in one day. And the ending...WOW. Love, loved this book! I will definitely be reading as many of Freida McFadden's books that I can get my hands on!
