I love this author and was excited to see she was coming out with a new book!!
The Teacher is absolutely amazing and once you start it, you won’t want to put it down until you finish it. This book keeps you guessing who done it until the very end. You won’t be disappointed with this one. It is definitely a 5 star read.

As a teacher, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about reading a mystery/thriller about a teacher. Turns out, it was so good. I couldn't get enough of it. The story was told from multiple points of view, only some (or none?) of which were reliable, and had an ending that I did not see coming.
Although the main story line involved inappropriate teacher/student relationships, it did not feel forced because the high school point of view was written so well that it made you remember the incredible hormone explosion that is high school, way before you've mastered good decision making. Also, I loved the literary references sprinkled throughout, because of course that's the case when a character is a high school English Teacher.

I love Freida’s books and actually bought a signed version of it when it came out. As usual, it was a quick read, but as a teacher, I was a little disturbed by the warped minds in this novel. However, as always, Freida’s book left me shocked which just proves what an amazing author she is!

Loved this. This was my first Freida McFadden novel but it certainly won't be my last. Gripping and extremely fast-paced.

I'd not read any of Freida's books before but this certainly won't be the last. What a great story and totally gripping. I read it very quickly as just wanted to know what happens...

This was the first Freida McFadden book I've ever read and it will not be the last! In fact, I've been actively looking for all the rest of her books since I finished this one. What an absolutely insane ride! And that last twist blew my darn mind! This was a little hard to read, as I spent a few years working as a substitute teacher, so I know a little about the ins-and-outs of working in a school. I think the most messed up part is that I could actually see this happening in real life. Such a crazy book!

This is another fast page-turner from Freida! Once again I read this in 2 sittings over a 24 hour period. The Teacher reminds me of her earlier work with twists galore and jaw-dropping reveals. As a fan, I did enjoy the Poe references and was there a bit of a nod to a Tell Tale Heart? And also as a shoe addict, I enjoyed all the lovely designer "cameos" however I can see how it might get on the nerves of others. I would like to see Freida tighten up her writing a little bit. The characters' inner dialogue can sometimes be too juvenile and monotonous. I find myself skimming over the "well what can I do about it" and "I mean...." sentences while the character is making up their mind about something. All in all, it's another solid "Freida" and I don't think her fans will be disappointed in this one! Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

If you know me, you know I LOVE ME SOME FREIDA. This book was no different for me, it was such a thrilling read and perfectly suspenseful. I didn't see the twist coming at all and was TOO STUNNED TO SPEAK. I finished this one in 4 hours and was up until about 3 am. Freida does an amazing job of dragging you in one direction just to launch you in the other. My favorite thing about this book was the way it followed the same pattern I've seen in so many other books by her and other amazing thriller writers and I still couldn't figure out what was going to happen. Def needed a trigger warning or something on this one and was disappointed that there was nothing before the actual story to talk about it. If you are someone that also values trigger warnings, a big one is child abuse (sexual) both talked about directly and in passing in great details at times. .

I LOVE Freida McFadden and have read several of her books and this one was a game changer that blew my mind! I had to read some reviews and some Facebook posts to clarify some of the ending because it just left you with a WHAT? This book was just a total mind blower that kept you sucked in from the beginning and the ending was a shocker of all shockers where you think you have it figured out, but you are totally wrong! It is sad to say that this story happens everyday all over the country, even in small rural areas, where you are afraid to send your child or children to school and you never know who you can trust. Thank you Hollywood Upstairs Press and NetGalley for my advanced copy.

This book will keep you on your toes. It takes you on a wild ride of ups and downs. Throwing in a few twists, turns, and surprises. The ending leaves you in complete shock.
Frieda is the master of the art of the unexpected. I highly recommend this book, and it is definitely one of my new favorites. Well done, Frieda

Fantastic book and full of suspense and twists. The epilogue literally blew my mind! What a twist, I really don't think anyone would have guessed that! Definitely a massive big 5 stars from me!!!

Well Freida does it again! This story definitely took me for a ride- especially because I work in education myself, which made parts especially hard to read. I wasn't sure what to expect out of the student main character- what did she really have to do with the former teachers leaving? What would she get up to with her new English teacher? Well... way more than I thought! And then the end continued to shock me- I didn't expect the continued twists (although I should have- it's Freida)- and I didn't expect her guy friend to also be the man the wife was sleeping with! I'll never miss a Freida McFadden release- to me they are easy, devourable thriller reads that I know I'm going to enjoy. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

Let me start by saying that I typically enjoy Freida McFadden's book and all their unexpected twists and turns. I did not enjoy The Teacher very much. Personally, it may be because I have 3 teenage girls so that may have affected my reaction to the storyline. However, I also found almost all of the characters unlikeable which made it hard to become invested in the plot. I will still faithfully read any future books by this author though but I just think that this one was not for me at this time.

Easy, quick read. Page turner for sure. I never get through any other thrillers as quickly as Freida’s. I was nervous about the predictability of this one. But every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, there was a different twist. I’m wondering if there will be a sequel to this one…

Absolutely loved this book!! Freida McFadden is truly the queen of twists and for that is one of my favorite authors. She is an automatic read for me.
5 stars ⭐️

The Teacher was good. It does leave you wondering at the end of what happens to some characters. Who is Jay?

WOW!! JUST WOW!!
I was in complete shock with the fact that I was chosen for an ARC from the queen of thrillers herself!
But let’s get into it —
This book is a duel storyline with a teacher named Eve and a high school student named Adeline. I loved the way that Freida effortlessly switched between a Middle Aged character and the young teenager! She is a master at her craft. There are so many unexpected twists and turns on this one!
YOU ARE NOT READY FOR THIS ONE!! RUN DON’T WALK!!
THE EPILOGUE?! WTF?!

In true Freida fashion, you think you have it figured out a million times and then boom you don’t. The Teacher had me hooked in the first page and I literally couldn’t put it down. 10/10 and in my top 5 of favorites.

Unfortunately this book was not my favorite from Frieda McFadden. This subject matter is definitely a sensitive topic for most people, and while I know that the author does not condone inappropriate relationships between teachers and their students, the way the books ends there was never any closure or message of this is wrong. It felt a bit icky to me. I also thought the ending was quiet bizarre and that the twists were thrown in was just for shock value. There was so red herrings leading up to any of it and not enough clues throughout the book to support the twists.

Freida McFadden is a relatively new author for me. The first few books I read of hers I loved. This one - not so much. If you are just looking for an entertaining story, this one is great. There are a number of issues with the plot. Parts are just simply unbelievable. The crimes that were committed, yet not investigated hardly at all, was also very unbelievable (maybe I listen to true crime a bit too much). This just wasn't her best work.
