Holy forking shirtballs!!! I always go into Freida's books with a healthy expectation of twists and thrills, and this one did not disappoint!! First of all, the short chapters are always welcome, and I just loved the pacing of the story - not too overwhelming or slow. After the first couple of twists, I thought "OK, great twists, I know now where this is going, what else can happen that I'm not expecting?". Well, turns out, A LOT! My god, that last twist but just... I don't even have words!! Love this so much!
Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen press for the ARC! This was amazing, one of Freida's best and I could not put it down!
Another great and fast read from Frieda McFadden. I swear I always think I know what will happen and then she throws a twist in there that I never saw coming. I will read anything this woman writes and devour her books in a day or two. The ending of this one really threw me!!
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance reader copy of this book. McFadden is a must read for me, so I was thrilled to receive this advance copy. Freida is a fabulous thriller author. The book is full of twists and turns and in true McFadden style the ending is shocking. Loved it!! 5 stars!!
This is the third Freida McFadden book I've read and my favorite so far. An addictive page-turner. Here, the twists and plot points seemed less random than in some of the other books, so they landed much better. Fun vacation/weekend/1-2 sitting read!
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read the ARC!
I think this is by far my favourite Freida! It keeps you hooked from the first to the last page and it's definitely a page turner!
Easy read, full of suspense and the twists!! OMG!
Loved it!
Definitely 5 ⭐
This book was simply addicting. I could not out it down after I started it. Again, you think you know what's happening and you have it figured out and then BAM you get hit with a twist or two. I definitely recommend this book!
I was so glad I had this downloaded to my kindle after being stuck in a doctor's waiting office for 3 hours--I read the entire book in one sitting! It was a very quick read with short chapters ending on a cliffhanger to keep the reader going. There were a couple plot twists that were over the top, but sometimes as I reader I just want a juicy, escapist book, which this definitely was. Plus there were a couple twists in the last few pages that I did not see coming that made the book even more satisfying. I loved it!
One of Freida McFadden’s best works! An intriguing story that I just could not put down. I liked the different points of view and she nailed the mind of a teenager. There were twists I did not see coming!
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars! Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! All I can say is…..what did I just read! This thriller was CRAZY! This is my second Frieda McFadden book and this book was better than the first one I read! Eve is married to Nate and they have a somewhat normal relationship, according to Eve’s standards. Addie had a scandal at school and doesn’t want to go back this new school year because of how she will be treated, but she doesn’t have a choice.
In my opinion, you get a lot of storyline in the first part of the book, that will help you understand what is going to happen and why. Then the twists and turns start happening and you won’t be able to put the book down. I can’t say anymore besides read this book when it comes out!
★ 3.75 stars ★
Freida McFadden is becoming a go-to mystery/thriller author for me! The beginning starts with someone digging a grave, but we don't know who it is yet; it makes you want to keep reading to see who is digging and who is being buried. The middle of the story does get a bit slow when delving into the relationship between Addie and Nate, but it provides the necessary background to fully grasp the twists at the end. Just when you think you know where the story is heading, you get thrown a new twist to the story, just to get another twist thrown at you in the epilogue.
Thanks to Netgalley for the free arc of this book!
4 stars
Bravo! Miss McFadden has done it again. Always so dependable with these thrillers. I loved this one, possibly one of my favorites by her, at least top 3.
Like every Freida McFadden novel, I devoured this story in less than 24 hours. Just when I thought everything was working out and being nicely wrapped up, there was one more twist I never saw coming. I really related to and felt so much sympathy for Addie, and for Eve (at least up to a certain point). The story really picks up around 1/3 of the way through.
Another thrilling read from the author!
The book is about teachers, students and secrets.
Told in short chapters from dual perspectives and compelling writing that sucks the reader I .
It starts out with Eve who is a teacher introducing herself. She teaches high school and her husband also teaches at the same school.
Eve teaches math while Hate teaches English.
Then we meet Addie who is a troubled junior. She is in both teacher's classes.
Eve is not happy that Addie is in her class because of a scandal last year.
So the tale unfolds with Eve and her handsome husband teaching.
Chaos ensues as it does in every book by this author.
This book had me glued to the kindle until the very end. So wild and surprising.
I rated it 4 stars and highly recommend it along with her previous books.
I will definitely be selling this next year.
Thank you net Galley the author and publisher
When Addie gets assigned two new teachers, one she loves and one she hates, she has a very interesting school year. Freida McFadden is an amazing author! She is excellent at developing characters that make you love and hate them at the same time. The twists and turns take you by surprise and I never would have guessed the end!
My girl does it again. This I found to be a HUGE redemption after I was let down by The Coworker. This was gripping, twisty, shocking, and everything that I've come to love (and expect) from Freida. Absolutely loved it and she got me again with the big twist. I swear no matter how much I try, I just can't figure it out! Thank you to @poisonedpenpress and NetGalley for the ARC!
Another book by Freida that left me mind blown at the end! I can honestly say I did not see the twist and turns coming throughout the whole book. But the last few pages had me saying out loud “no freaking way” and that to me, is a really good book! I felt pity, anger, frustration, confusion, sympathy and empathy reading this book then I have in awhile. The main characters captivated my attention in the beginning, and it was that way til the end. The Teacher goes between the views of a teacher (Eve) and a student (Addie) after a scandal happened the year prior. Just when I thought I had figured out the plot, I was quickly corrected Another great writing by Freida.
Thank you NetGalley for releasing this ARC to me!
Excellent book. Keep me guessing until the end! No one does thriller like Freda! Can’t wait to. Read the next one!
Frieda has done it again. I have read most of her books and yet I still have yet to figure out all the twists. Being a teacher myself I was so ready to dive into this book. I also love how her books are from multiple point of views. I become eager to read the point of view and the experience from each character. Which you see throughout this story in each of the 3 parts. When I began reading "The Teacher", Frieda had me drawn in from the very first sentence. And with the prologue you can never assume who she is writing, you may think you know but you don't, Throughout the story I found myself flipping back and trying to decode her clues and what Frieda wants us to know and what she doesn't. But yet again, I was like "OMG! WOW! She did it again!" I didn't see that coming. I had my ideas and instincts about what was going on and who was involved, but yet again I was shell shocked. Then during the Epilogue Frieda comes in swinging again for the final round to knock me out! My mouth was on the floor. I always am left wondering how she does it again and again in her books. Frieda, I love your writing style! Your humor and wit is so engaging. The way you develop the characters is perfect, but you don't bore me with love stories and background knowledge. You get right to the point and throw in twist and turns to keep my eyes peeled and not letting me get any sleep. I have never loved reading until I starting reading your books and now I can say I love reading! My favorite pastime.
All I can say is oh my! Beat book I have ever read hand down! Eve and her husband Nate have a troubled marriage. Both are teachers. Both have a student named Addie who is also troubled. What could go wrong? I really don’t want to spoil anything. Let’s just say there is infidelity, murder , and a lot of juiciness trying to figure out what is going on, who is at fault and how the characters fit together. So good! And I literally had my mouth open on a last little juicy piece of the puzzle. I really don’t want to read anything else until the next authors look becuase I will compare everything to this! Read this!
Thanks to poisoned pen press and net galley for the chance to read this ARC.
Frieda McFadden does it again. The twists in this books were unexpected. The characters were characters that you love to hate. Addie can bring out some sympathy, but she knows exactly what she’s doing and does it anyway! If you are a Frieda fan, this is must read.
