Loved this book! Freida has done it again and keeps you guessing until the very end. This book hits you in all the feels at one point or another. It has scandal and a twisted plot. Love and heartbreak. Teenage angst and Adult drama. Everything you want in a good mystery. I couldn’t put it down. I have recommended this book to anyone who asks.

As always, this was an easy fast read for me. Freida always sucks me in. I struggled a little with the ending as I questioned how that could actually happen but I have to remember it’s a story and not real life. I usually find the twist very believable but this one was a stretch for me. That being said, the book itself delivered and I devoured it in a day!

I LOVE FRIEDA. Forever. Was this completely insane? Yes. But did I still read it in one day? Also yes. And that Epilogue? Don’t even get me started lol sometimes you read for vibes and this was one of those times

This was my first time reading Frida McFadden and it will unfortunately (most likely) be my last. I have heard great things about her other books, but this book had me in a constant state of frustration. The prologue was promising, but it was just annoying character after annoying character. I ended up DNF-ing this book at 25% and by looking at the synopsis, I am sooo glad I did not spend my time reading this.
As dramatic as this sounds, this book encapsulates everything I can't stand about contemporary mystery/thrillers: spouses that hate each other, cheat on each other, student/teacher "taboo" relationships, outlandish twists at the end that make no logical sense and are purely used for shock factor. Every character was unlikeable and wildly immature.
Definitely check Content Warnings TW (grooming, cheating, underage/pedophilia, etc).
Thank you for NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Usually I love Freida McFadden's books. I've read the Maid and a handful of others and always had a good time with the twists and reveals and POV switches. This one, while still having all of those things, I liked a lot less. Mainly because I used to be a teacher and I really hate on-page description of student-teacher relationships. Which this has. More than once. I skimmed through as much as I could but it still was not a great reading experience for me. I don't remember there being any references to the student-teacher relationship in the synopsis, but I took awhile after downloading to start so I take responsibility if it was mentioned and I missed it. Overall, the twists and reveals were less believable in my opinion than other McFadden books. (especially the final one, there's just...no way.) Personally, I'd choose the Maid and McFadden's other titles over this one. It felt a little more recycled, a little less fresh than the other ones. And if you're not a fan of student-teacher relationships, I would not recommend this at all. But if you're looking for more the same sort of pacing and secrets found in other McFadden books, you'll probably like this.

The Teacher by Frieda McFadden did not disappoint. The author's style of writing keeps one guessing throughout the book. Once you think you have it all figured out, there is another plot twist. The characters are well thought out and you feel as though you are part of the story. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery and of course, Frieda McFadden books.

Great book! I would definitely recommend this book. It was short but fast paced could not put it down. Definitely has everything I was looking for in a book. Has suspense, twist, turns and whatever you think is going to happen its not.

"The Teacher" by Freida McFadden is a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The author weaves a tale of trust and deception, unfolding the aftermath of a scandal at Caseham High. McFadden introduces a complex protagonist, Eve, whose journey to uncover the truth about a student, Addie, takes unexpected turns. The twist at the end adds a surprising layer to the narrative. While milder compared to McFadden's other works, the book earns a solid 4 stars for its engaging plot and skillful storytelling.

This book was addictive and I was amazed for the final plot twist (epilogue) but then I started to think a little more about it and it doesn’t make any sense at all.
It was a fun ride tho. TW: grooming

This is my first Freida McFadden book, and man this DID NOT disappoint.
I devoured this book in about 3-4 days - at times I had to will myself to stop reading and go to bed. After reading this, I see why McFadden has been deemed a Queen of psychological thrillers.
The character development was great, and the chapters were fast paced. I really did grow to like Addie. Never fully liked Eve, and always felt that there was something there with her I just couldn’t guess it.
The end has a few twists so be prepared. I really thought I had them figured out, but the main one NOPE did not!
Please do yourself a favor and READ THIS! You will not be disappointed.
Many thanks to Net Gallery/Poisoned Pen Press/Sourcebooks for an advanced digital copy of this book for my honest feedback.

The book was an easy ready with great character development. In The Teacher, the interweaving of behaviors that were the same among many, but kept secret, only to be revealed by the end. Frieda McFadden writes with a great style, leading the reader to make inferences about characters or events that are later discovered not true, leaving the read perplexed.
The character development of Art was left to be desired. His role was poignant to influence other characters and conversations, but fell a bit flat at allowing the reader to feel his sense of purpose.
Overall, another amazing book with a fantastic twist. The writing captures the reader, making it hard to put the book down.

⭐️Rating: 4.5/5 stars
😰😱😍Genre: Suspense/pyscological Thriller
🍎 I was selected to read The Teacher as an ARC book and now I am giving my honest review. I would have read this is 2-3 days tops but I have 4 young children and currently undergoing a house remodel.
📕 Wow. I was left speechless. This book was sooo good. I will admit that the beginning was kind of slow and since I was forewarned about the trigger warning (inappropriate teacher-student relationship) when it really got into that part I almost stopped. It just wasn’t what I want to read from Freida (love and such an inappropriate relationship). But she put just enough needed for the story and then continues on with her thriller and suspense.
📗It really was a long read leading up to the good part so for that I give it 4.5 stars. However, the last maybe.. 10 chapters just keep you hooked! The ending unravels and it just keeps going and going!!! Twist after twist! You think she’s done because… let’s face it you gasped aloud enough reading but nope she has to throw in another in for good measure.
📘Now, another reason I only gave 4.5 stars is because at the end I kept saying things like, “yeah right, because that’s just how “someone” would act and bend at her every word.. but overall it was REALLY good and I’m so excited to jump into another one of her books! Thanks Freida!

YALLLLLL! She has done is again!! The Teacher is easily a 4 ⭐️ read, but the epilogue alone is a work of art that bumps this to a 4.5 ⭐️! My jaw was on the floor!!!🍎👠 Absolutely LOVEDDDD this book!!! 😃

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and read The Teacher prior to release day, and it did not disappoint. As with any of Freida's thrillers, I was hooked from the start. It was addictive, entertaining, and full of twists. And that Epilogue though 🤯

I’ve previously read a few Freida McFadden titles to see what all the hype is about. Up to now, my take was she’s a pretty good writer who’s talented at using a formula, outlandish character interactions, and killer plot twists- usually with a Bazinga! epilogue. Additionally, she’s written loads of these thrillers while also working as a full-time physician! so you have to give her credit for that. That said, The Teacher had the typical formula but felt awkwardly plotted- plodding almost, till towards the end. Lots of plot points left undeveloped or unexplained too. It was a mediocre read for me, only rescued by the final (creepy) reveal.

So many twists! While a few parts were predictable, there were several twists I didn’t see coming. Overall, a fast-paced, enjoyable mystery.

Nate and Eve, married, teaching at the same high school. Addie, the “troubled student,” is in both of their classes. Like always, I never figure out Freida’s endings ahead of time. Quick read. I always enjoy a good Freida book. Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC. I really appreciate if.

This was my favorite Freida in the last couple years. I absolutely flew through this and couldn’t wait for the ending, which didn’t fail to fulfill that Freida twist-chasing hunger. THAT EPILOGUE THOUGH! Absolutely obsessed.

The Teacher by Fredia McFadden
“It’s a lesson she'll never forget!” It’s a book I will never forget!!! 📚
The Psychological Thriller Queen of plot twists has done it again!👑 I believe we make it a challenge for her to come up with a twist we all don’t see coming and this time I think she delivered! This twist Broadsided me and I was stunned!
The Teacher is a trip back to high school 🏫with the charming and handsome English teacher Nate 👨🏫and some of the teen angst between characters.
Eve, plain Jane math teacher with a shoe obsession👠, somehow saddled handsome Nate, poet, but is their marriage perfect? In walks Addie, a student that was in the middle of a local scandal. My heart really went out to this troubled girl. With her sad past the teachers try to help her out, but who really benefits from this? This book had me up late into the night wanting to read One More Chapter! 📖
Plot holes and far fetched twists aside, this book was another win that I did not want to end! Fredia McFadden pulled me in and kept my attention!!!
Thank you NetGalley for once again letting me have this sneak peak into her brilliant mind!!

Really enjoyed this book. At the end my mouth was hanging open as I finished the twist. Highly recommend this book.
