This book is excellent, I loved that it showcases Street food! It’s the best way to eat when traveling and exploring a different country and cultures. I enjoyed the recipes, the stories, and pictures. Can’t wait to to start cooking! Thank you to the publisher and author for a wonderful copy.
The photographs in this book look so delicious I could eat the pages! I found many outstanding recipes, like spicy lobster and pineapple curry and fried rice with pineapple to traditional pad Thai and coconut ice cream. I would recommend this book to add to our current recipe book collection, as it is an inspirational food read and definitely full of flavors to experience.
My husband and I LOVE Thai food and this cookbook is a dream. Easy to read, explained well, beautiful pictures. Can’t wait to try some of these recipes!!
I like this book. If you're like me who wants to learn about Thailand, especially Thai food, then this is book is a must read for you. The recipes are easy to follow and its influences are well explained. I am curious though, why the author decided to call Myanmar, "Burma", when it stopped being the official name of the country since 1989.
I loved browsing this cookbook! The photographs are absolutely beautiful and enticing. The recipes themselves seem easy to follow, and most ingredients looked familiar from my local grocery stores and Asian markets. I'm most excited to try out the mango sticky rice and won ton soup!
An absolute jewel of a book for those looking to expand their culinary capabilities into Thai cuisine (and also maybe cut down on takeout a bit)! The recipes included are a rich variety, and no matter one's dietary or taste preferences, there's bound to be at least one dish in here that will satisfy. I also really like how the recipe selection tries to get a decent sampling of Thailand's various regional cuisine styles. Combined with the general bits of culinary and cultural context included within these pages, plus the absolutely gorgeous pages, "The Thai Cookbook" is just a delight on all fronts.
What a delight to flip through this wonderful Thai Cookbook. The pictures are so vivid and the descriptions of each dish is such a welcome surprise. I was salivating just looking at the delicious dishes presented and will definitely purchase a copy of this book when it becomes available.
So many mouth watering dishes and are presented in a way that I am sure I will be able to dish up some great treats for my family.
I particularly love the informative pictures at the end of many recipes with tips.
Thanks so much to Netgalley, Quarto Publishing Group - Chartwell Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.
My wife and I were fortunate enough to have had a Thai exchange student spend a year with us. And come back, along with her family, for further visits. One of the best perks of having her live with us was her incredible ability as a chef. She made us so many delicious meals! From the dishes of her Bangkok home, to ones from her ancestral home near Chang Mai, we experienced dishes and flavors that were completely unknown to us. AND...when we would visit local Thai restaurants, she would order off the "special" menu that seemed to be available to native Thai speakers...and with the instruction that the food be prepared not in the "American way" (sweet) but in the authentic Thai way.
Anyway, since she has been gone we really miss her, and her cooking. I was really surprised when I received this ARC, as it reignited our memories of many of the dishes she prepared. The book is well written, very well photographed, and easy to follow. It has a wide variety of recipes. We have tried several already.
We have shared photos of our dishes with our Thai student via video chat, and she has given her stamp of approval. What better endorsement of a cookbook could one possibly ask for!
Stunning photos and great recipes! What a nice resource of information on Thai cooking. Lots of good information and looks like it would be fun to make them.
Oh yum yum yum yum!!! I've said many times before if I could eat Thai every day I would...it's just not conducive to my bank balance. But this cookbook goes a long way to helping me do this. There are some fabulously delicious meals in here. The pictures are mouth watering and the instructions are so easy to follow. Some of the ingredients are a little obscure but I have an Asian supermarket below my work which does help things a little. If like me you have a love for thai dishes then this is a fantastic authentic way to make some yourself. YUM!
Usually a cookbook is something I just can’t put down both visually and aesthetically. Somehow this fell flat it could be more about format
than actual content, but I didn’t want to head to the kitchen or linger over the visuals this time.
The Thai Cookbook: More than 80 delicious recipes, regional styles, and flavors

The photographs in this book a beautifully done. They complement the recipes and encourage the reader to turn on the stove. When I purchase a cookbook, I do so for the recipes. A cookbook that has more pages devoted to explaining why they wrote the book and where the recipes came from and the history behind everything is NOT what I’m looking for. This cookbook has the perfect balance between recipes, photos and information.
The very first recipe in this book is Prawns in a Blanket; the photograph had my mouth watering. Shrimp, garlic, and ginger all wrapped in a spring roll sheet, then fried until golden brown. This recipe serves 4…ha ha not if I beat everyone to it.
The Chicken Stay makes 40 sticks. After marinating the chicken then thread it on a bamboo stick. Heat your grill to high. Barbecue for 10 minutes on each side.
There are plenty of other recipes: Grilled Fish, salads, sauces, stir fry, and desserts. There are several I intend to try. I have been looking for a recipe for a salad containing: thinly sliced been, noodles, cucumbers, and lettuce all stir fried. I had the salad a long time ago and loved it but have never been able to locate the recipe. Unfortunately, it is not in this cookbook either.
This is a great cookbook, and you will want a copy to add to your collection.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a review copy. My reviews are always my unb
Great book and as always I love cookbooks and love trying new recipes. I don't have a Thai cookbook at home but this one had everything I need to make some great Thai food. The recipes are easy to follow and even though there are a lot of ingredients in some of these recipes they are all once you can get these days.
A fun and informative cookbook and one I will be using now and into the future for sure.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

If you are looking to expand your cooking experiences you will need to pick up this cookbook and travel through food.
Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity.
I really love Thai food! I was so excited to see this cookbook but disappointed that there were so many ingredients that I could not find at my local supermarket. Going to try to make some of the dishes that I do have the ingredients for.
I found the recipes included here are managable to follow through, as it didn't use much ingredients. I could say it is quite simple and since im familiar with some of the menu, I could understand the cooking steps better. However, i wish author could add more small images for every menu, so we could have a better look of it. With that being said, I like how organised the book is, the recipes were divided into a few categories such as soup, dessert, sweets, stir fries and so on, making it easier to navigate through. Thank you netgalley for the advanced reader copy, I enjoyed reading it and learn a lot more about Thai culture and the thoughs expressed above are duly written based on my point of view.
I really love the pictures, history and organization of this book. I have visited Thailand and it is definitely a place my family and I would visit again. We love the food, the people, the culture, and the beauty of the country. I do cook Thai food at home, and I really enjoyed trying these recipes. I chose a handful of recipes to cook. Not all the ingredients were easy to find at my local grocery store. With all honesty, I tried the easiest recipes. I'm not a great cook and do not like anything that is time consuming. They were easy to follow and very flavourful. There was a great variety of recipes, and I was impressed to see they also had Khao Soi (Chang Mai Noodles).
I recommend this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

As much as I love Thai food, I am highly allergic to the ubiquitous CILANTRO (and parsley) that shows p in almost every dish … so I like to make it myself. I have taken a few Thai cooking courses and actually prefer this book over the recipes we made there: they are well written so cooks of all levels can understand the steps and they make each recipe seem easy to make.
The photos were incredible and like China and its 15+ regions and 15+ different styles of cooking, this goes into Thailand’s different local cuisines as they are marvellously different. A great book to give to a college student so they save money on take out and delivery…or yourself if you are guilty of that crime.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for my copy of The Thai Cookbook by Editors of Chartwell Books in exchange for an honest review. It publishes November 7, 2023.
In the world of cookbooks, I haven't come across very many that represent Thailand, so I found this book to be a gold mine! This is full of wonderful photographs, and mouthwatering recipes! Definitely give this a go if you're looking to expand your cooking horizons! It would also make a fabulous gift!
The Thai Cookbook is a wonderful cookbook that is easy to understand with instructions that are easy to follow. Almost all of the recipes have pictures. It is also nice to see that there are pictures on how to do some special instructions as well. There are backgrounds and/or descriptions of each of the recipes presented, which I appreciate a lot, because it highlights the food’s significance in the Thai culture.
As for the recipes, both metric and imperial measurements are given, which is always a positive sign that the author has taken into consideration the readers’ location and measuring system. The ingredients can be easily bought from a regular grocery. There is also a section for the basic recipes for sauces, jams, curry pastes, relishes and how to cook rice. I like this part because it makes the cookbook very beginner friendly. By making a separate section on the basics, it also opens up the possibility to experiment with dish or to use in other dishes, like fusion dishes, for example.
I also like the fact that there is a section for sweet snacks and desserts, although it I wish there are more recipes included in this section. I was most excited to try the recipes included in the Streetfood section.
Thank you to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Chartwell Books for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
