I'm thrilled to have been given a preview excerpt of the forthcoming new book in this brilliant series. I'm only upset I can't finish it!

An 80 year old man is murdered in a small village. As the residents found the dead man difficult and confrontational, there are several suspects. The difference in this case is that Josie Ottey is on leave whilst moving house. This leaves DS George Cross with a new senior investigating officer. Fireworks ensue.

I absolutely love this series and, although each book can be read independently, I recommend to read them in order to follow George's story and how his brilliant eye for detail solve his cases.

I truly can't wait to finish this book as soon as possible. My review is my own and unbiased.

I love the George Cross books. He's an interesting character who I could see translating well to TV.
I knew this was only an extract of the book, but found it hard to review it properly. In view of this I've based my rating on previous books, but knocked one star off as I really can't class this as a full review.

Well I had no idea this was just an extract until, bam, no more chapters. I did really like the character of George Cross and will hopefully get to finish the book. I want to say thanks but tbh I don’t want to get an extract in the future, too hard to do a complete review. I can easily see George Cross in a tv series.

I need more!! This was my 1st time reading part of this series and I am hooked already. The writing style, humour and the realistic characters are all perfectly combined into an engaging read

Lovely read with George Cross the centre of the story with his unique way of dealing with problems. Although the novel is full of Tim Sullivan's humour , there is a serious undertone that makes it a riveting crime novel.
Although this is a extract I would really love to have the opportunity to review the full book. Thank you for the extract which I enjoyed.

I received the first 19 chapters of this book from NetGalley to review. I have read a few George Cross books previously and find him a really interesting DS. George is on the spectrum and is quite different to other police characters in other books.

I really enjoyed what I read in this extract and will purchase the book when it is available.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced reading extract.

Another brilliant story from Tim Sullivan, but how could you leave us holding our breath until January to find out what happened….

A Teaser..
An elderly man is discovered dead in his home. Is it an accident or a murder? The fall down the stairs would certainly imply an accident - the stab wound, however, implies something far more sinister. Enter D S George Cross. Say no more. ‘The Teacher’ will be the sixth instalment in the DS Cross series of thrillers and this extract simply confirms what this reader already knows - that we can expect another compelling and wholly engaging read.

An extract from the new book in the DS Cross series. This series is one of my favourites and seeing DS George Cross’s personality and his relationships with all the important people in his life grow has been lovely to follow through the series . Can’t wait for the whole book to be released, if it’s anything like the other 5 it will be 5 stars ⭐️ from me !!

Unlike other reviewers, I did realise that this was an extract, but love this series so much I wanted to spend time with George. Tim Sullivan is an absolute genius at writing characters, not just the loveable main character but other minor characters. The London outsiders, the publicans, the self important MP; we have all met these types of people. As for Ottley struggling with reverting to teenage sulking while living with her mother… we’ve all been there. I can’t wait for the arrogant new police character get his comeuppance and I like that George is getting some measure of protection from his usually useless boss. I can’t wait to read the whole book and immerse myself into the world Tim Sullivan has created.

I enjoyed this extract so much that I've now gone back to read all of the DS Cross books. A great series with an amazing main character, and I love Tim Sullivan's descriptive writing.

This is an extract of Tim Sullivan's latest in his wonderful crime series featuring DS George Cross which I adore. However, I was too excited to notice it was merely an extract before I had pressed the request button, I do not read extracts simply because I hate being interrupted once I have started a book I am thoroughly enjoying, and I was definitely enjoying this in which a not very popular retired headteacher, Alistair Moreton is murdered, as so Cross will investigate, leaving no stone unturned to uncover a killer. I hope very much the publisher will make the full book available on Netgalley for review purposes, I am very much looking forward to reading this!

I admit I was a bit disappointed to realise that this was an extract from the new George Cross book but it certainly left me eager to read the whole book when it’s published.

I have read and loved every one of this series involving DS Cross and this one definitely isn't going to disappoint. .
Again, Sullivan skilfully breathes life into the distinct perspective and remarkable talents of a detective with autism, challenging misconceptions about individuals on the spectrum and touches on themes of tolerance and empathy as Cross' colleagues embark on a journey to collaborate with him and appreciate his unique abilities.
With not only the mysterious death of a teacher to try and unravel Cross has a new boss to deal with it.
This extract held me in its grip from start to finish, and I eagerly anticipate the new novel to see how both storylines develop

This is a review of an extract I received via Netgalley.

I haven't read any of Tim Sullivan's previous DS Cross novels, but if the start of this latest book is anything to go by, I'm missing out on some good reads! The Teacher sees the Avon and Somerset police investigating the murder of retired headteacher Alistair Moreton. DS George Cross finds himself working with a different partner to usual, and I found the interaction between them to be very entertaining. I'll definitely be looking out for the complete book upon release, as I desperately want to know whether Cross will solve the case.

A good start, hence 4 stars. I'll reconsider my review upon completion of the whole book. (Did not state extract when I requested on netgalley, that appeared after)

This is a sample of the latest in the excellent DS George Cross series of the Avon and Somerset Major Crimes Unit.

Retired headteacher. Alistair Morton is found dead in his cottage. George is on the case, unfortunately not with his usual partner DS Josie Ottey who is moving house. He has the “misfortune“ to be working first of all with DCI Ben Carson and then the substantially greater misfortune to be working with DI Bobby Warner, temporarily drafted in from Kent. However, what this does give us readers is some absolutely delicious interplay between the three of them which makes me smile.

Consider me well and truly tantalised with this sample and absolutely all in for the complete copy. I can’t wait to find out if George is right and Warner wrong, I do sincerely hope so! I love George who has become a firm favourite lead character in police procedural mystery thrillers. George has Autism Spectrum Disorder or Condition as he prefers, which makes him a superb officer as this sample attests. There are some excellent interviews with one between George and Alistair‘s neighbours being highly entertaining leading to yet more smiles.

Although this is only a section of the book, the mystery of Alistair‘s death has me gripped especially as he hasn’t been exactly popular with the locals and there could be quite a queue of suspects beyond the obvious.

This is an extremely well written series which has everything you could want in a novel of the genre and I can tell already this is going to be yet another winner.

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Aria and Aries for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

I swear this wasn't specified as an extract when I requested it. The extract is good, and I'm certainly intrigued enough to read the entire book, but I'm not sure how to rate this!
