I don't think i was the target audience for this book, but it sounded intriguing. I actually hadn't heard of Goblin Mode, except in relation to being a beveridge goblin, and I thought Katie had just made that up. This is a lovely, well set up book whose main message is "it's okay to be who you are, even if that is a messy, grubby, binge watching goblin". While the idea of having a dirty house is not for me, or that not showering is fine (I love showering) the central message - that who you are and how you live is just fun, and don't worry about how great everyone else's life looks on instagram, is very affirming. This book would make a great gift for someone who needs to hear that message. It's also quite funny to me that a book whose central message is that everything doesn't have to be perfect has more than a few typos.
thanks to NetGalley for the free review copy of this intriguing book.
What a fun, creative self-care workbook! The art and design is sweet and inviting. In the age of self-help books, this one should be on everyone's shelf. Be free, Goblin!
I had heard about the Beverage Goblin from a Bookstagram account I follow but besides that I wasn't familiar with the entire Goblin way of life. This book is adorable and really gave me an insight of to how I've been living life recently. Laid back, no hustling, moment by moment. It is all presented in a fun and unique way. The book has great illustrations and more! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Would make a great gift!
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book or if it would be my kind of thing but it surprised me. Goblin mode as a term wasn't something I was familiar with (although reading it makes me think it's my natural way of life!) but I liked the term as something that goes against the kind of perfection (heavily curated) we see on social media. It's a great book especially for those who have grown up on social media or whose life it dominates and it's almost a form of CBT, giving spaces to help people reflect on how it makes them feel and to detach themselves from it a bit. Nicely laid out and illustrated, it's a well thought out and beautifully produced book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy in return for an honest review.

I’m not huge on self help books- everything always seems so unattainable for me. However this is my new exception! This was warm, cozy, funny, relatable with honestly great tools to help put the guilt away and focus on what you LOVE! I’m definitely ordering a physical copy

"Goblin Mode Guide to Life" beautifully captures the essence of being imperfectly perfect, reminding us that life doesn't always have to be picture-perfect or "Instagram ready" to be meaningful and enjoyable. It's a book that invites you to celebrate your quirks, your missteps, and your idiosyncrasies. I love its interactive nature; there are plenty of journal prompts which encourage you to embrace your inner goblin, to revel in your uniqueness, and to find joy in the everyday chaos of life. It's not just a book to read; it's a companion to accompany you on your journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance.
I adored this book, it feels accepting and non-judgemental. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone, particularly to those who constantly strive for perfectionism but get tired and lost along the way. An easy 5 stars from me!
Ok how is a book about goblin core inspiring and empowering? I don't know but some how this book is and oh my God do I love it. I realized that am in fact a goblin and that's totally perfect and ok.
An interesting look at goblin core and how to live your own goblin life. Some moments felt repetitive with similar and like statements throughout. I found it entertaining and an easy read.
Delightful! This is self-care/self-help that is loving and embraces the reader as they are. It's aspirational in the best way; what would your be if you let yourself be YOU? How would you feel if you were rested and in love with your own life? See it? Well, let's get you there!
I'll be getting this one for myself and my friends for sure.
I loved this little workbook and would definitely purchase it! So many great points are made, about self care and setting boundaries, with many interactive pages and space to write and doodle!
I’ve always been intrigued by the notion of ‘Goblin Mode’ and as the Oxford Dictionaries word of the year in 2022, it’s somewhat entered the public consciousness and become a whole new vibe in itself. Taking time for you, the sweatpant life, staying in and indulging in your own self care, it’s certainly something I can get on board with!
This book has everything in it to introduce you to what Goblin Mode life may encompass. From Goblin Aesthetics and Goblin work to Goblin home and Goblin Love, it sums up exactly what it is and how you can manifest and incorporate more of it in your life.
I loved the design of this book and just how interactive it is! It gives you space to reflect and write down your own thoughts. It encourages introspection and a deep dive into exactly what it is that you want and how you want to live and think. It provides just the right amount of guidance coupled with gentle nudges that makes it feel you’re being led and informed as opposed to preached to and told about this loose way of life.
It has space for you to pick up your own pen or pencil and jot down prompted responses to questions and some epic quotes to help you on your way. It really was a great book and one that would be great to have physically to connect with the pages and truly make the book your own. Super cute and loved the idea!
This is a fantastic little book all about the concept of "Goblin Mode" and how to be a "goblin." I enjoyed the bits about history and origin of the goblin, as well as a bit of folklore. This book is quite fun, as there is a lot of space for self-reflection and exploration. I would say this book is almost a guided journal centered around the concept and will have you asking yourself a lot of questions and reflecting on your habits, ideas, and stereotypes. Overall, fun and interactive book with adorable art throughout!
