In the first novella when Willow’s longtime boyfriend dumps her just before the holidays, she takes their two week prepaid train trip across the US by herself. She meets a number of interesting characters including some possible romantic interests. The story is cute but the descriptions of a fireplace in a train room coupled with all the staff being dressed like elves was a bit too sweet for me. The audio format worked well but I could not become invested in the characters because the premise was unrealistic. The second story about a Christmas tree farm owner who travels a small town pretending to be the farmer and gets to unite with his best friend from his youth. This story worked better and I enjoyed it more. I thank NetGalley and Thomas Nelson publishing for the opportunity to listen to this ALC.

⠀🚊Dashing Through the Snow
Rating: 5⭐️
This adorable novella takes place on a 2 week long Christmas train ride and has everything I love in a Christmas rom com:
✔️relatable FMC trying to make the most out of a crap situation
✔️a bff willing to drop needed truth bombs
✔️a cast of wonderful characters who each find a unique way into your heart
✔️wistful holiday bucket list activities
✔️sweet & oh so satisfying snow ball fight
✔️charming MMC running the family business who ends with a grand gesture
🎧Audio Review: fantastic! I loved her voices for different characters, but especially the way she portrayed the squeaky elf that made me cringe, which was perfect for the context

🎄Pining for You
Rating: 2.5⭐️
I MAY have enjoyed this more if it had been the first story in the book. Dashing Through the Snow was “in your face Christmas,” happy and relatively light so that’s what I was expecting for this novella. Instead this one is a mildly holiday related book with heavier themes. It takes place on a Christmas tree farm but outside of that fact, nothing else is holiday related. It was such a drastic difference & I just kept waiting for the holiday cheer to kick in, but it never did. Then add that the overall themes were depressing (infidelity, poverty, gambling addiction). There’s such a drastic difference between the two that it left me feeling confused and asking, what happened and how did I get here??

Overall, I’d recommend checking this one out from the library for the first story. I’ve loved 3/4 stories by Melissa Ferguson so I’m still a big fan of hers.

Snowy Serendipity consists of two Christmas romance novellas, Dashing Through the Snow and Pining for you.

Dashing Through the Snow was probably my favorite of the two! I loved the Polar Express kind of vibes. I will say though I was sooo concerned our first possible love interest was going to be end game. I was questioning everything at that point. But Santa Claus comes through and our MC finally ends up with someone who is going to cherish her above all else. Well except maybe not above Christmas haha

Pining for You was a second chance romance. The main characters own/work/grew up on a Christmas Tree Farm so the spin on the name is perfect. I love a good ‘nothing is as it seems’ story. They really seem to get me worked up and fully invested and if you’re those two things you know it’s a great read.

If you’re looking for a couple of lighthearted Christmas romance stories, I highly recommend Snowy Serendipity!

I really enjoyed both of these stories that got me ready for the holiday season! I would love to ride on that Christmas train in that first story!! Loved the narration as well!

Y in the first story Dashing Through The Snow after her boyfriend Jonas just broke up with her her friend Elodie talked her into going on her Christmas train vacation by herself something she decides to do before the trip is over she will have two men vying for her attention The first is Ian and he takes being an elf on board the Christmas train very serious and then there’s Oliver who’s dad Clarence owns the train and now Olly is taking over and loving it before it’s over Willow will have a new love in her life and it’s not just a man. In the second book which is called Pining For You we meet Theo who’s new girlfriend looks as if she may just have mental health issues. So when he gets a call from the Christmas tree farm that his parents own quickly takes it because the man who runs it is the father of his ex and one true love sky. Sky however seems to be holding on to the past and assuming something that may not be true can Theo get her to see the truth before he loses her again forever? The second book was twice as long as the first in both or sweet romances but I must admit the first one was my favorite I laughed out loud more than once while reading these sweet romcoms if you love Christmas and Christmas romances then you should definitely get the spot I also thought the narrator did a great job with her comedic timing and her narration as a whole. I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for my free audio arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

The stories were cute but I definitely didn’t feel connected at all to the characters. It was a fast and easy listen.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advance listen

Both of these were cute, cozy holiday novellas. They were both short and sweet—very straightforward. This would be a good listen to get you into the holiday spirit—both are very PG

Cute stories to keep me entertained but I definitely didn't feel connected to the stories or the characters. I think that issue is because these are two short stories.

I am a sucker for a Christmas story and for two of them to be wrapped up in one audiobook, was the star on the Christmas tree that I needed. Well, the two books both got you ready for Christmas cheer. I did find that the first one with the story of Willow and the train ride was unique and a little more whimsical. I appreciate the authors style and ability to bring you into the characters quickly. Sometimes Novella is all that you really need. These two books will probably become ones that I end up picking up every four or five years around the holidays to bring me a little cheer.

Snowy Serendipity combines two holiday novellas - Dashing Through the Snow and Pining for You. The first follows recently dumped Willow on a train trip aboard The Christmas Express. It's quirky, it's found family, and it has major Hallmark movie vibes. The second story centers around childhood friends Skye and Theo as they overcome differences and find a little something more.

This was a really sweet, fun, and light-hearted listen. Melissa Ferguson writes really broadly-enjoyable romances and these two novellas were no exception. A fun Christmas theme, a super cute cover, and adept narration make for a great audiobook to get you in the holiday spirit!

Thank you to Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio via NetGalley for gifting me with an ALC to review. I enjoyed it!

Two very cute Christmas novellas. The first novella is almost like an adult version of polar express and I loved it! Wasn’t into the second book as much as the first.

Snowy Serendipity by Melissa Ferguson was a precious Christmas audiobook pair! The first book takes place on a cross country Christmas train and the second on a Christmas tree farm. I loved both and the narration was excellent!

This is a collection of previously published Christmas novellas by Melissa Ferguson.

Dashing Through the Snow

Quirky Willow and her on-again off-again boyfriend have called it quits right before the romantic couples Christmas themed cross country train adventure. Finding herself alone on this trip, Willow ends up with a very unexpected companion and meets some very unexpected people along the way. A cute Christmas novella in a fun setting.

Pining for You

This novella features some of the minor characters from The Cul-de-Sac War, Theo and Ashley. Theo has been living his life in the city, but when he gets a phone call about the manager of his family's Christmas Tree farm being injured, Theo doesn't hesitate to step back in and help out. Only two problems, Theo can't drive a stick shift and Theo's ex-girlfriend, Skye, who he hasn't seen in 14 years is the daughter of the manager. Will Skye and Theo be able to overcome their hurts and misunderstandings? A fun novella full of real hurts and happily ever afters.

I received an ALC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

These two wintery novellas are reissued titles in this dual audio collection. I had not read the first novella, Dashing Through the Snow, so it was a new story to me. It was definitely festive and was full of Christmas holiday vibes. It was a short listen and, although I liked the two main characters, I did not ever feel particularly connected to them. I also wondered at the age of the main male character, to have a father who was in WWII didn’t line up with the youngish main character that I was envisioning as I listened to the story. So maybe I misheard something.

As I was listening to the second novella, I began to realize that I had actually read this one before. Pining for You takes place in winter at a Christmas tree farm, yet isn’t really Christmassy. However, I do enjoy second chance at love stories, so it was fun to listen to it. There was more character development in this novella than in the first one, but it is still fairly short and I did not deeply connect with these characters either.

I felt that the narrators voices matched their stories well. If you are looking for easy to listen to winter tales that don’t overload you with too much detail or heaviness, these are fun holiday choices. I enjoyed listening to them.

The review discusses an audiobook collection of two holiday-themed novellas, "Dashing Through the Snow" and "Pining for You". The first story, "Dashing Through the Snow," was enjoyable due to its Polar Express train fantasy vibe. The narration by Talon Davis was expressive and engaging, while the second story, "Pining for You," was short and had serious issues. The narration by Kayla Jackson was well done, but the story's approach of each chapter from a different character's point of view could have been improved. Overall, the audiobook was enjoyable but could have been improved with a longer format.

Thank you so much to Netgalley for this audiobook for an honest review.

That feeling that the story is missing more pages, I have the feeling that the stories should be longer, but it happens to me usually when I find a novel that I like and want to keep reading
.
It was a little difficult to understand the first story but as it progressed I got fully into the story and felt that I needed more pages to continue in the story.
.
with the second story I went quickly into the lives of the characters and it was so good that it seemed very short to me. For me, the plots and characters were so good that they fell short with the number of chapters.
.
Two beautiful, cozy stories about love and family, the first is more fun and heartwarming with Willow taking a trip on the Christmas Express train taking advantage of the tickets that her ex-boyfriend had bought before the breakup, where a lot of funny characters make her feel accompanied and lead her to find love in a very hallmark mode. And the second is more romantic with a second chance to trust in love again, when Skye's first love returns to town to his tree farm and she has to work side by side with the man who broke her heart while he desperately tries to regain even the friendship that used to exist between them.
.
Two cosy and beautiful stories to hear while doing some cosy craft or decorating the christmas tree.
.
Thanks to Melissa Ferguson, Thomas Nelson and Zodervan audio for give me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my voluntary and honest opinion

It's always a bit tricky to review an audiobook version of something I haven't read in print or ebook. Clearly there are two parts to the review - the text of the story and the audio narration. And obviously they interact with each other in the general appreciation of the author's work. This work was a collection of two holiday-themed novellas. Both of them were pretty adorable and generally well-narrated.

The first, "Dashing Through the Snow", was definitely my favorite. At times I was a bit confused, since I was listening to the story for the first time without benefit of being able to turn print pages back to check if I'd missed something or just forgotten a bit. But sometimes novellas are like that. On the whole, the story had a Polar Express train fantasy vibe that I really enjoyed. I was willing to suspend any disbelief I might have had to just go along (literally) for the ride - where do I sign up? The narration, by Talon Davis, was expressive and capable; listening to her reading engaged my interest and gave the story's characters just the right emotional temperature.

The second story, "Pining for You", was a good story, though I felt the "shortness" of the story much more than in the first novella. Though the story took place at a Christmas tree farm, I didn't get much holiday feeling from the writing. If this story had been first in the collection, it wouldn't have been quite so jarring by comparison. The story involved some serious issues that might have benefited from a longer format. The narration, by Kayla Jackson, was well done, though in my opinion, a story where each chapter is from a different character's point of view, like this one, should have two narrators, one for each character. I am used to this approach in other audiobooks, and it made this audiobook harder for me to engage with.

Full disclosure: I received a copy of the audiobook through NetGalley and chose to review it.

Not only do you get to read a sweet romance story and be completely entertained, you get two for the price of one!!! This is my kind of reading experience! I love a bargain, but a bargain on a great audiobook or book is even better! Add in that Christmas is the theme of one book and a tree farm the setting of the other and you have me swooning with delight. My Hallmark movie loving heart is already thumping with joy, but now let me tell you about the stories so you will understand the fun to be had! In the first book, a Christmas themed train ride that takes place in the weeks leading up to Christmas finds our delightful main character nursing a almost, but not quite broken heart from a breakup that was meant to be. I say meant to be as we all know that she is going to find love on the train right!?! Lots of entertaining twists make this lighthearted and sweet story and absolute delight to listen to. The narration is wonderful as it helps aid in bringing the story and emotions to life. In the second book, we have a second chances theme between old friends turned lovers turned spurned love with a distance of 14 years separating them from their breakup. The problem is neither of them got over the other, but can they overcome the pride and miscommunications as well as secrets that are still holding them apart!?! Never fear, a happily ever after is near, but you'll have to listen to find out if it all works out. The narration in the second story was even better than the first in my opinion, although it was a close call. I love how an audiobook can bring the reading experience even more fully to life. This was my first experience reading this author, but it won't be my last! I can't wait to read or listen to more from her!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for providing me with this free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Average score: 3.5 stars.

3 stars. I totally loved "Dashing Through the Snow" which was sweet, funny, and romantic. A very Christmassy novella which was a joy to read. I especially loved the HEA! I also enjoyed listening to the narrator, Talon David, who also did a great job in narrating "Famous for a Living". In fact, I loved this story so much that I bought the "On the Way to Christmas" ebook which included it as part of three Christmas stories. Reading it was just as much fun as listening to it.

2 stars. "Pining for You" was OK but I just couldn't connect with the main characters. I got impatient with them and ended up not listening to the last 30 minutes.
