Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio for the advanced copy of Snowy Serendipity.
I really enjoyed the first story. It was magical and the perfect stress-free break for me from psychological thrillers…😊 It could have been a little longer because I couldn’t believe how fast it went. I enjoyed the book and now I want to go on a Christmas themed 2 week train trip!
The second book was not as Christmasy…but I still enjoyed it. Theo was portrayed in a negative light at the beginning so it was hard to love him and want them to find love. But the second half was sweet.
Definitely will get you in the Christmas spirit!
This is a collection of previously published Christmas novellas by Melissa Ferguson.
Dashing Through the Snow
Quirky Willow and her on-again off-again boyfriend have called it quits right before the romantic couples Christmas themed cross country train adventure. Finding herself alone on this trip, Willow ends up with a very unexpected companion and meets some very unexpected people along the way. A cute Christmas novella in a fun setting.
Pining for You
This novella features some of the minor characters from The Cul-de-Sac War, Theo and Ashley. Theo has been living his life in the city, but when he gets a phone call about the manager of his family's Christmas Tree farm being injured, Theo doesn't hesitate to step back in and help out. Only two problems, Theo can't drive a stick shift and Theo's ex-girlfriend, Skye, who he hasn't seen in 14 years is the daughter of the manager. Will Skye and Theo be able to overcome their hurts and misunderstandings? A fun novella full of real hurts and happily ever afters.
I received an ALC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Snowy Serendipity by Melissa Ferguson was a precious Christmas audiobook pair! The first book takes place on a cross country Christmas train and the second on a Christmas tree farm. I loved both and the narration was excellent!
I really enjoyed both of these stories that got me ready for the holiday season! I would love to ride on that Christmas train in that first story!! Loved the narration as well!
Two really cute stories that are perfect for any time of year. If you enjoy a clean romance with a little eye roll, these are for you!
Dashing Through the Snow
When Willow’s boyfriend of seven years dumps her on the eve of a romantic getaway, she decides to take the two-week train trip on The Christmas Express alone. Hurt as she feels, she can’t anticipate how the hilarious rebound ride with conductor Oliver, elf Ian, and aging world adventurer Clarence will heal her heart—and renew her sense of worth and holiday wonder.
Pining for You
Pining for You is a second Chance story involving Skye Fuller and Theo Watkins. When Skye’s dad Ralph, manager of Evergreen Farms Christmas tree farm, is injured as the tractor rolls on him, Theo returns to the farm, seeing Skye for the first time in almost 15 years. When the two went their separate ways it was not on a friendly basis and when they see each other again the same hard feelings seem to have remained. As Skye and Theo work together to put in the new evergreen seedlings, old times and old feelings arise and set about an unexpected series of events.
These are both fun holiday novellas just right for this time of year! I did enjoy them and do recommend them both.
In this double novella from Thomas Nelson, you get two GORGEOUS Christmas stories in one fabulous package...or in this case, audio book! That's right! I listened to this one through NetGalley (did you know that was a thing?!), and quite honestly fell in love with it! As opposed to the prior novel featured, this one is squeaky clean, but that doesn't mean there aren't moments of sparkage, moments of closeness, or moments that will make you wear a silly grin and sigh (yes, I totally did this!). Dashing Through the Snow .... gives us a woman on the romantic holiday trip of a lifetime, having to go it solo thanks to her now ex-boyfriend pulling the plug on the most wonderful time of the year. Willow seizes the day, thanks to her pushy but loving friend, and not only revels in the spirit of the season, but finds that while her heart may be wounded, it doesn't mean she won't love again...perhaps sooner than she thinks! Pining for You... delivers the story of Skye and Theo which takes place on a Christmas tree farm. Old wounds are healed, recreated, and potentially healed once again, but a lot of old truths are brought into a clarifying light, allowing these two matched at heart to find a start in the here and now. Of the two, I gotta play favorites with the first, but I have no regrets in listening to the second.
Such a fun book! It has two short stories in it that are easy to get lost in for a while. The first one will give you Polar Express vibes, cringy meet cutes that turn into awkward snake encounters, and a sweet old man that helps bring together the two love interests!
In the second story, it is second chances at its best! It was so sweet!
I loved that both stories had minimal drama. Since they are short stories, we still get a full character development and well rounded stories!
Dashing Through the Snow
Instead of getting engaged before Christmas, Willow finds herself single and heading on a pre-holiday vacation meant for two, all by herself. The Christmas Express has been a dream of Willow’s and she plans to make the best of it. She hits it off with Oliver, the conductor, and his father, Clarence, which brings unexpected joy to her adventure.
Pining for You
Theo Watkins III is a Christmas tree farm owner, but a farmer he is not. He heads to his hometown for a weekend to play the role when Skye’s father gets sick. Her father runs the farm for the Watkins family. He’s hoping when he’s there that he’ll be able to win back his childhood best friend—Skye. She eventually realizes that even though they haven’t seen or spoken to each other in years that he’s always kept tabs on her.

This was my first time *reading* anything from this author, but I enjoyed it enough to look into other books she has published. Snowy Serendipity has two stand-alone romantic novellas with “holiday” themes.
The first one I really loved, mainly because trains are my favorite way to travel and who wouldn’t want to spend two weeks on a train doing Christmas activities with “elves”?! Okay…I’m sure some people wouldn’t, but this girl would. Where do I sign up?! The characters were charming and the story believable. I was a little disappointed it was a novella because I could have read a full length novel with these characters and the Christmas Express.
The second story I do not consider Christmas or even winter themed. It does take place on an organic Christmas tree farm, but that’s where the Christmas connection ends. It takes place in spring time. I also wasn’t as invested in the characters as I was with the first novella. Overall it’s a good book and I recommend it if you love happy endings and romances without sex.
Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio for the chance to listen and review this audiobook. All thoughts are my own. 😁
Loved this! Both stories were so cute and I really enjoyed that there were two entirely different stories in this book. They were short and sweet, and perfect for the holidays! I definitely liked the first story more than the second, because it felt like Polar Express turned Hallmark Christmas Movie! The unexpected bits of the second story were great too, and I loved the history between the two characters. Definitely recommend for a sweet holiday read! Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio for the audio ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I found this book lovely to read, the stories were romantic and a little funny at times, utterly charming with a twist of clever and dash of sweet. It was a nice Christmas Short Story. I love each character's unique goals throughout the stories. This book is for you if you love a Short Christmas Stories with a bit of romance. I loved how both short stories panned out. Snowy Serendipity is two short stories Dashing Through the Snow (also in On the Way to Christmas) and Pining for You (also in This Time Around) so you are following Willow as she tries to find love on a Christmas Express in the first story and in the second story you are following Theo Watkins a guy who will play farmer on the weekend to win back a girl.
This is two super cute winter stories. My favorite was the first story with Oliver. I absolutely fell in love with him. Such a cute story with a Christmas Train! Loved it so much
I religiously do NOT read book synopsis. I love being completely surprised by a book, especially when it's written by a favorite author....like Melissa Ferguson, for example. When I saw her Snowy Serendipity audiobook on net galley, I got super excited, hit request, and crossed my fingers.
When I got approved, I started listening without even looking at what the short stories were about.
It took me about 30 seconds to realize the first story sounded super familiar....and maybe 60 seconds to realize the same about the second story. lol
So, SURPRISE, these are stories I've already read.
I did not re-listen to them (though the audio recordings are great), but can without hesitation, say these are both absolutely adorable, cozy, yet unconventional wintery tales.
I love her stories, long or short, and these are no different.
Please write a full length Christmas novel and make my holiday dreams come true!!!!
SO CUTE
i love that this included two short stories l. i did prefer the first one but i really enjoyed both, i think they are both so sweet and super easy to get into.
Two great books in one! I enjoy reading/listening holiday books and these two were great. Although they were short stories they were full of laughs, sweet moments, fun adventures, love and fantastic characters.
Talon David and Kayla Jackson are new to me narrators and they gave fantastic performances. They gave the perfect voice, emotion and personality to each character.
Perfect reads to bring on the holiday season!
I am someone that can listen to holiday music year-round, certain Christmas movies can be watched anytime throughout the year, Hallmark Christmas movies are my guilty pleasure, and I like my holiday reads for Christmas in July, and/or starting in October. Snowy Serendipity gave me 2 different heart-warming stories to kick my Christmas reads off for the season. Both were cute and light-hearted and gave off all the feels that a comfort & joy season brings.
The first story, Dashing Through the Snow, takes place on a Christmas Train that I want to be on; and the second Pining for You had everything I love about a Hallmark Christmas movie--second chance romance, small town setting, comes back to the family farm and finds themselves after moving away--perfection in mini form.
Narration was pleasant to listen to and both narrators did a great job of binging the characters to life.
This is a compilation of two novellas that Melissa Ferguson has previously written. Thank you @netgalley for my early copy of these two cute little cozy Christmas reads on audiobook!
First is Dashing Through the Snow. Willow is left on a romantic 2 week train trip (dumped by her boyfriend). She has a hilarious ride with Oliver and Ian, ending with the best little “maybe this will become a full fledged cozy Christmas novel” moment!
Second is Pining for You (previously found in This Time Around). Theo owns a Christmas Tree farm and Skye is back in town once her father (who works at the farm) becomes ill. She and Theo have been nemesis for years. She’s artsy and he drives a Tesla, not a tractor…which makes some great banter and just the loveliest of HEAs.
Loved both of the narrators so if you are looking for a cozy Christmas read to listen to while you wrap papers, shop online, or otherwise adult, this is great for you!
If a cross country train ride is on your bucket list, you'll love this audiobook. If rekindling a youthful romance on a Christmas Tree farm sounds like a good time then this audiobook is for you too. I was delighted to hear two different stories of love lost and found from the same author. The characters in both stories were warm and realistic. The settings, who doesn't love a train or a tree farm? It was easy to imagine and step inside each of these stories and watch the magic happen.
These were 2 short and sweet Christmas stories. Think cheesy Hallmark vibes but I loved them and it was exactly the feel good Christmas story I was looking for.
Two Novellas That Have Been in Other Compilations (Audiobook Review)
• Dashing Through the Snow
(also in This Time Around)
Narrated by Talon David
Talon reads this in a way that draws you in further. The pace and how she reads it enhances the book and does not distract.
I realized as I listened that I knew this story! I then paused and figured out I read it last Christmas. I have never been able to read a story twice because I can remember everything I read. I decided to try to listen to it. It was fun to listen and just relax giving into such a cute story!

• Pining for You
(also in This Time Around)
Narrated by Kayla Jackson
Kayla was fun to listen to. She kept the story moving and allowed you to just sit back and enjoy the book.
This was a new read for me. It was a good story and had some thoughtful points. Loved it!
This is a perfect read that will have you ready for winter! Grab a mug of Hot Chocolate, cuddle under a blanket with a fire in the fireplace!
I love Melissa Ferguson’s books! I can’t wait to read her next one! Enjoy!
I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I loved both stories in this book! Melissa does a great job in painting the pictures of the surroundings and the characters are so relatable. I especially love when she uses real places that I’ve been to in scenes.
Love both books so very much. I loved both couples' cute stories. They are hallmark feels, and I wish that both couples had a longer story. These are also very short stories, so it's a quick read that is perfect for an in-between book.
Two incredible gems full of unique characters and scenarios. The first was a cozy romance that captures the magic on a Christmas Express train full of fun activities and elves.
The second is a girl who can work on a tractor with a wealthy fellow who is afraid of spiders. I love that she includes the male POV in the second story. Author Melissa breathed life into these full-of-humor Christmas novellas. I can't say enough about them.
Magical and cozy: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
📖Blurb: In this cheerful and heartwarming collection, bestselling author Melissa Ferguson offers up the gift of cozy joy in two sweet novellas for the holiday season.

This was such a sweet book! I loved the characters, and their love story. The dialogue was realistic and enjoyable.
Snowy Serendipity by Melissa Ferguson is a collection of 2 sweet , fun, romantic holiday stories.
Dashing Through the Snow tells the story of Willow a fun, adventurous, full of life young woman who is broken up with after 7 years. And on the night before they are supposed to take a romantic holiday trip, the trip of her dreams. Willow goes on the 2- week Christmas Express train trip alone. She has dreamed of this trip and will not let the breakup ruin her fun. She meets 3 special men along the trip and they change her perspective on her situation.
This is a cute, fun, sweet, story of finding oneself after.a break up, adventuring and meeting the people that come up along the way.
5stars
Pining for You is the story of Theo Watkins, a Christmas tree farm owner who runs into his childhood best friend Skye Fuller. Somehow he agrees to accompany her on a trip to Virgina in order to win her heart. He plays farmer and falls for her further but farm life isn't so much his jam. Does their location and his attitude prevent love or do they both realize their feelings for one another?
This is a cute story but is a hard followup to Dashing Through the snow as it jumped right into the action where Pining for You was a slower start. But so well done.
The Narration was superb as well!
Romantic, feel-good holiday stories, with narrators that really pull you in to the holiday spirit.
Snowy Serendipity consists of two novellas, Dashing Through the Snow and Pining for You. Each one has that Hallmark-Happily-Ever-After feel that makes you want to curl up with a blanket in front of the fire. The storytelling has you smelling the pine trees and fresh snow in Pining for You and tasting the hot chocolate while being whisked away on a train in Dashing Through the Snow. I loved the ancient history romance in Pining for You, where our characters are reconnected after years apart, and the fated meet cute in Dashing Through the Snow. Each story gives you all the warm-fuzzies and brings that good-old holiday romance cheer that everyone could use a little bit more of. If you love feel-good, HEA, sweet romance, then this duo is for you!
