Melissa Ferguson’s Snowy Serendipity is an audiobook composed of two Christmas novellas (short stories).

The first story, Dashing Through the Snow, follows Willow as she heals from a breakup she didn’t see coming. While riding on the The Christmas Express, she encounters a wide cast of characters that help her find her purpose and passion in life.

The second story, Pining for You, reunites childhood sweethearts, Skye and Theo. The two lost touch 15 years ago. They left off on bad terms, but when they are are forced to work the Christmas tree farm together, they can’t help but rekindle their love.

As with all of Melissa Ferguson’s books, these are sweet, clean romances. They both are quick stories, that make for an easy listen. In addition, the content is safe for listeners of all ages. A perfect choice of entertainment while traveling in the car this holiday season.

Special thanks to Netgalley, Melissa Ferguson, and Thomas Nelson (Zondervan Audio) for allowing me to listen to this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Are these two short stories for me? No, unfortunately. Are these stories cute as all get out and will I recommend them to lovers of Hallmark-esque stories? ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY!

Both of these stories are adorable and leave you with the HEA that so many are after. These are quick, filled with lovable characters, and leave hope for love. These may not be my type of romance books, but I know that these will absolutely make someone's day.

If a cross country train ride is on your bucket list, you'll love this audiobook. If rekindling a youthful romance on a Christmas Tree farm sounds like a good time then this audiobook is for you too. I was delighted to hear two different stories of love lost and found from the same author. The characters in both stories were warm and realistic. The settings, who doesn't love a train or a tree farm? It was easy to imagine and step inside each of these stories and watch the magic happen.

I throughly enjoyed this book omg. This was a book with two novellas - Dashing through the snow & Pining for you. These both were short, cozy cute holiday reads. I personally didn’t really like the second one.. I’m not sure if it was because I didn’t like the characters or the story line but “pining for you” wasn’t for me. BUT “dashing through the snow” I LOVEDDD!! I didn’t want this one to end. It was giving very much .. the polar express & the FMC Willow was going through a break up. I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about this novella except for the fact that I wish it was longer!!

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Snowy Serendipity was a meet cute Christmas novella duology that was a fun quick holiday romance read. I’ll be reviewing both books within this novella duo, and the audiobook itself.

Book one: Dashing Through the Snow

Audiobook itself: The narration was was lovely and fun however there are editing errors as early as chapter one that cause the sentences to glitch, and or leap around. I replayed them several times to ensure it wasn’t any sort of loading or user error and unfortunately these glitches remained. Not sure if this is limited to my copy or not. It also at times sounded as though there were chunks of dialogue that was recorded and spliced in separately which was very noticeable with the change in tone and sound quality. I think these things would likely be a major frustration for audiobook users and would be worth fixing if it’s not limited to my copy. The narrator however was very pleasant and fun, lots of spirited emotions in the story that fit the FMC very well and brought the side characters to life. Would listen again.

Story: Our FMC Willow is quirky and immediately root-for-able which had me engaged in the story from the very beginning. I found her to be really fun, funny and likeable as well as her roommate who brings a lot to the opening plot with her banter and advice. The cast of lovable sidekicks continues with Ian and Clarence who are so adorable you want them to be real. Another come to life wish worthy character is our MMC Oliver who has it all, whit, charm, and Christmas. Cheer aboard the Christmas Express, and happenstance romance was just what Willow needed after a horrible break up, and her journey aboard the train is fun to ride along with. This is a relatable, realistic, rom com like quick HEA holiday romance read for anyone wanting to get into the spirit and looking to have a heaping dose of awww I wish it was me in their life! As a self proclaimed Christmas-aholic and hopeless romance this was exactly what I was looking for and will be a great gift able book for holiday HEA lovers for Christmas. I’ll admit the elves to the rescue ending had me teary eyed!

Book 2: Pining for you:

Narration: Audio quality was better here and didn’t have any of the issues the first one did. Narrator was just okay for me, but maybe a little less emotion in this tale than the previous. I didn’t feel as engaged as the previous narration. However it was still an enjoyable read and listen.

Story: I will admit the opening plot was a bit confusing for me and I had a had to relisten to it to get clear which characters were from the dinner sequence and from the Tree Farm plot but that may have been just me. Our FMC Sky and MMC Theo are childhood friends to semi-enemies after a heartbreak up and this book is about their second chance to work things out while helping her Dad on the tree farm Dash works on which Theo is the owner of. Even though Theo is happy in his life he is still turning his head to Sky and can’t look away. Sky blames him for more than their past but also what she perceives as the most unforgivable of hurts after finding what she thinks is proof. However through their time on the farm they are forced to work through and work out the truths of things and fall back in love along the way. I didn’t find this story as exciting or compelling as the first and I’m not sure if it’s the narrator being a bit on the more mellow side for emotions or for the story feeling low stakes. I just didn’t connect to it in the same way as the first story so this one may just have not been for me.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for the opportunity to ARC read this audiobook. My thoughts are my own.

Thank you Thomas Nelson and Zoldervan Audio and NetGalley for audio ARC of this book.

This book contains two short stories. What could be more romantic and set a Christmas mood than The Christmas Express and Christmas Tree farm! While listening to this book I was feeling the holiday mood and was ready to unbox my Christmas tree.

Both stories were really sweet and warmed my heart while bringing a smile on my face.

Talon David and Kayla Jackson did an amazing job in narrating. They both portrayed the characters and their moods in a great manner.

Two sweet Christmas Novellas to get you excited about some Christmas love ❤️

Melissa Ferguson is always an auto buy for me because her stories are always sweet and clean- what more could you ask for?

Audiobook Narrators were fine, not my fave, but not bad either. Stories were around 2 hours each and had good character development for the time they were given.

This book is a compilation of two novellas by Melissa Ferguson.

The first story is Dashing Through the Snow about a two-week trip across the country on a real Polar Express! This was my second time reading/listening and I still loved it! A quirky cast of characters on board changes the main characters life. A very fun and heartwarming Christmas romance. FIVE stars

The second novella was Pining for You. This book was so different that I had to check it was by the same author. I did not like this story at all. The only character that I found interesting was Skye's mother. I don't enjoy giving bad reviews, but this plot was just flat. ONE star

I would say definitely read or listen to Dashing Through the Snow. It has me wanting to find a Christmas train! Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for an advance audio copy in exchange for my honest review. Narration was good. Giving it 3 stars for a combined score.

This is a compilation of two novellas that Melissa Ferguson has previously written. Thank you @netgalley for my early copy of these two cute little cozy Christmas reads on audiobook!

First is Dashing Through the Snow. Willow is left on a romantic 2 week train trip (dumped by her boyfriend). She has a hilarious ride with Oliver and Ian, ending with the best little “maybe this will become a full fledged cozy Christmas novel” moment!

Second is Pining for You (previously found in This Time Around). Theo owns a Christmas Tree farm and Skye is back in town once her father (who works at the farm) becomes ill. She and Theo have been nemesis for years. She’s artsy and he drives a Tesla, not a tractor…which makes some great banter and just the loveliest of HEAs.

Loved both of the narrators so if you are looking for a cozy Christmas read to listen to while you wrap papers, shop online, or otherwise adult, this is great for you!

This is a 2 in 1 audio book;

Really enjoyed the first book! Christmas train, holiday romance book. Loved the build-up between the two main characters. Witty and charming with some funny parts to it.

The second audio book did not feel like christmas to me.

The first story is way better than the second one. I wish that the author had chosen to fill out the Christmas train story more and made it a full novel on it's own. The second story was just an unpleasant read. The main character was no fun to hang out with and the male lead was a second chance cheater? Gross, no thank you. Nothing about the second story was appealing.
4 stars for the first story
2 stars for the second story
Rounds off to a 3 star rating

Thank you to Netgalley, Melissa Ferguson, and Thomas Nelson & Zondervan audio for an advance listening copy of the two Novellas in Snowy Serendipity. These were enjoyable and quick novellas to get you in the Christmas spirit. The first story had me feeling all the emotions and was easily my favorite of the two. While I enjoyed the second one, I found the narration a little confusing as the same voice was used for both of our main characters. I look forward to seeing what else Melissa Ferguson will do. These are out now and would be a great couple of Novellas to add to your Christmas reading list! 4 stars for the first novella and 3 stars for the second!

This was a really fun listen! Got me so excited for the holiday season. Feels like a hallmark movie in my ears! Narrators were great also.

Perfect reads to bring on the holiday season!

I am someone that can listen to holiday music year-round, certain Christmas movies can be watched anytime throughout the year, Hallmark Christmas movies are my guilty pleasure, and I like my holiday reads for Christmas in July, and/or starting in October. Snowy Serendipity gave me 2 different heart-warming stories to kick my Christmas reads off for the season. Both were cute and light-hearted and gave off all the feels that a comfort & joy season brings.

The first story, Dashing Through the Snow, takes place on a Christmas Train that I want to be on; and the second Pining for You had everything I love about a Hallmark Christmas movie--second chance romance, small town setting, comes back to the family farm and finds themselves after moving away--perfection in mini form.

Narration was pleasant to listen to and both narrators did a great job of binging the characters to life.

This is a short and sweet collection of two Christmas novellas. The first is a forced proximity story set on a cross country train ride. The second is about a girl returning home only to reunite unexpectedly with an old flame and now they have a second chance at romance. These two stories are sweet and focus on cultivating meaningful moments with family and friends who are like family. The audiobook narration was great and made for a very pleasant backdrop to my afternoon of errands in the car and cleaning up around the house. This book is a great way to get a head start on the holiday season and find a lighthearted romance to enjoy.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced audiobook copy of this story. All opinions are my own.

Two sweet stories to get into the holiday mood! I thoroughly enjoyed both of these but I would have loved if they were even a bit longer. I don’t think it’s going to be a new favorite but I will definitely be recommending!

Melissa Ferguson brings two previously printed holiday themed novellas:
Dashing Through the Snow
Willow's long-time boyfriend dumps her on the eve of a planned romantic getaway. Despite this, Willow takes a two-week train trip called The Christmas Express. She meets an elf named Ian, Oliver-the hunky conductor, and a sweet world traveler named Clarence. This is a sweet story of love and new beginnings.

Pining for You.
A sweet story of lost love won over again. Theo has a chance to win his old love back years later, by trying to prove himself as a farmer. Can he shed his city boy ways and prove himself?

Narrated by Talon David and Kayla Jackson. Both narrators bring these stories to life, creating an enjoyably entertaining experience just in time for the holidays.

I was hoping to feel a bit of Christmas magic listening to this audio book of both short stories. The first book gave me a flicker as I liked the idea of a Christmas trip on a type of Polar Express train trip. The second book was harder for me to connect having a plot of a second chance. They’re cute, but cheesy like Hallmark, not touching like say Santa Claus or other staple Christmas movies/books. Cute for a quick read, but not very memorable either.
