I haven't read the first book but enjoyed this book in the series. The cute and wonderful character's development and their compatibility were fun to read.

An interesting and cute romcom, but you can't take these really high-stakes careers like lawyers, hockey players, etc and then make them closed door.

Such a lovely story!!

The pace was a little upsetting because I could tell where the story was going but kept feeling that it was taking a little too long to get there. The writing is delicious and I will definetly read more of the author.

I have to admit what caught my attention was the cute cover and after reading the summary, I definitely wanted to give this a try. I was not disappointed! The story was fun and cute with entertaining characters and I had a great time reading this. Tessa is a lawyer and she is trying to help one of her friends out by catching a scammer and poses as a struggling artist. She knows nothing about being an artist, but that is the line of work she claims to be in when she meets the cute guy, Zeke, at the art gallery. The scammer was close by, so she couldn't reveal what her true profession was, but then she learns that Zeke hates lawyers, so what is she to do? Zeke's ex was also a lawyer and she lied to him, and now he doesn't trust them and wants nothing to do with them. Zeke and Tessa really hit it off, but how does she tell him the truth? Will he accept her and want to continue a friendship with her?
This was a sweet and adorable read with endearing characters. The storyline flowed nicely and kept me engaged from start to finish. A clean and charming romance that I am glad to have had the opportunity to read!

I was not aware that this book was part of a series. This was a cute romance books-although I do like spice in my romantic books I loved the character's chemistry and overall build up to their romance. I am now wanting to read the first book and get into this series.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

It is such a great book, I will be reading it again! Tessa and Zeke's love story is so interesting. There is a fake identity (aka Tessa) and a lawyer who can't paint but is pretending to be an artist. It's just the perfect romantic comedy!!

I really enjoyed the main characters in this book. I loved how they brought realistic baggage and insecurities into the relationship and worked through them. I’m sure most people reading can relate to something the characters have gone through in the past relationship. I found myself not wanting to put the book down come the end. Not just for the outcome of the relationship, but also the outcome of Tessa’s cases.

This is interesting take on many romantic tropes. The basic is instalove, with mistaken identity and broken past. Zeke and Tessa finds line in between trying to make in Manhattan. It's a cute and sweet, clean romance.

Kathy Strobos has written, yet again, another divine romance featuring work rivals, slow burns and a totally captivating love story.

I just adored this romance story so much; from meeting the protagonists to watching Tessa's lies unfold in front of Zeke's eyes. Not only was this book beautifully written, it also contained pockets of humour which made me root for the characters even more. The moment in which Zeke invited Tessa to the workshop had me in hysterics and from that moment on, I knew I was going to find myself giggling at the most unfortunate of situations.

The backstory of Zeke added dimension to the character and made him even more likeable and 'real'. The whole book felt like real life and watching the relationship blossom between Zeke and Tessa felt like a dream!

Thank you for approving my request to read this book. It is a good book and it was entertaining in the first few chapters. However, I found the storyline to be a bit dragging. Also a bit frustrating because the characters was to and fro on their feelings. It is a nice read but maybe not meant for me :) Maybe meant for artists, especially lawyers since they're the ones who can relate to the characters.

This is the second book I have read by this author. It is also the second book in Kathy's 'New York Spark' series. I have also read Kathy's 'A Scavenger Hunt For Hearts' which is another fantastic book by Kathy which I would also highly recommend!!!


This novel consists of 47 chapters and 2 epilogues. The chapters are short in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!



LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOOVVVEEE , LOVED IT!!! A HUGE WELL DONE KATHY ON AN ABSOLUTELY SWEET FANTASTIC HEARTWARMER ♥!!!


I absolutely adored this beautiful, sweet, page turning romance with surprises you won't see coming!! The storyline itself is romantically charged and filled with love, friendship, lies, twists, humour, comedy, romance, fun and absolutely everything you could want in an absolutely adorable book!!! The storyline is unique and I absolutely loved the idea of a lawyer finding romance with a lawyer and liar hater so she decides to lie and make out she is a struggling artist!!! This is something I would definitely not recommend trying at home but by God it was hilarious to read!!! Although this is the second book in the series I had absolutely no problems reading it without reading the first book in the series prior to this one. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader. It made me laugh, scream, shout, angry, jump for joy and getting a few strange looks from my partner while I was doing all this!! Along the way there are tears, happiness, disasters, secrets, romance, friendship and sparks flying everywhere!! Kathy's evocative writing skills brings the story life and one minute your chilling at home with the book in your hand and the next you've been sucked straight into the storyline cringing with Tessa's lies, giggling away and feeling your heart warm up!!!

Kathy does a fantastic job of weaving the multiple protagonist storylines together at just the right times so we can see how both Tessa and Zeke are feeling and what they are doing without spoiling the storyline. This book had me in stitches on several occasions and at other times left me sitting there going shouting at a certain person and getting some very strange looks!! There was plenty going on and I absolutely loved every moment of it. The storyline is unique and I think it is such a fantastic plot I really would love to see this turned into a movie!! I would be the first barging their way in front to get tickets!! There were so many large and unique personalities in this book and thanks to Kathy's amazing writing skills each and every one of them came alive. I absolutely LOVED watching all the separate relationships develop and change between the characters and I would love to see where each goes and what they get up to next along with hoping to meet them in the future books in this series! I completely devoured this book in a couple of hours and it was a great escape from reality!!! This book was filled with a lovely range of characters and I would absolutely love to meet them all again!! Hint hint Kathy 😉 A huge WELL done to Kathy for bringing them to life!! I read the blurbs of the previous book in this series as well as the first chapters (included at the back of this book) and I cannot wait to get stuck in to them!!

This is a great romantic comedy.. I liked it very much! It is sweet, funny, and heartfelt.. Cute and sassy characters..

I didn’t read the first one so I’m not sure what I’m missing from it, I will be reading it soon though.

I’ve read all of Strobos’ novels, and I was pleased to discover her newest release, a fast-paced women’s fiction/romance read.
