You should never judge a book by its cover, and this story is proof of that. The relationship between Chloe and Liam is like that of many rom-com movies and I could not put this book down once I started.
Some of the material I struggled with as it was a little over the top for me but this was a very enjoyable book. I would recommend this book to others.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from Thomas Nelson Fiction through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Love, Unscripted is the newest release from the best selling author Denise Hunter. The plot is simple--a small town girl writes a best selling romance that gets picked up by Hollywood for a movie. They come to her hometown to film it. And she's excited--until she finds out who is playing her beloved book hero. Liam. Playboy Liam. How will he be able to connect with her beloved book boyfriend when he's the total opposite in character? And what is she supposed to do when he hears her TELLING her agent that?
Liam is annoyed that Chloe doesn't think he's a right fit for her book adaptation. He needs this role to fix the image he's getting in publicity. He's not really the playboy the media portrays...and he's in jeopardy of not getting more roles until his image is fixed. He heads into the town early to get a feel for the area and bumps into Chloe. Literally.
When Chloe and Liam are snapped by bystanders phone in what looks like a romantic pose and the photo goes viral, suddenly the world thinks they are dating. How are they supposed to tell everyone that Chloe can't stand him when he desperately needs his fans to believe he's being reformed?
Chloe and Liam agree to work together to the benefit of each. She will teach him what he needs to know to keep the integrity of her book character onscreen and she will pretend to be dating him to help him recover his fan base.
Both will learn a lot about what it means to have a lasting relationship and to take risks and to tell the truth no matter what.
If you are wanting a faith message--it's not here. This book has next to none mentions of anything faith based. I'd classify it as simply a clean romance. Was it predicable? yeah. cute? sure. Did I like it? yes. Did I love it? No.

I loved this rom-com book! It’s about a book being made into a movie, and it really should be made into a movie! It’s an easy read and it kept my attention. I even read while my parents were visiting because I couldn’t put it down. I loved how the antagonism between Chloe and Liam morphed into sparks. I really do hope this will eventually be a movie.

I enjoy books by this author so I was excited to read her upcoming release. This story is completely predictable but it is fun. Liam is my favorite character and I just loved all of the scenes with him and from his perspective. Chloe is fine but near the end of the book I was a bit annoyed with her and her attitude. She blames other people basically for her own life choices and it drove me a bit nuts. (You can't expect to live like the famous people and not have the media dig into every aspect of your life. We all know this.) Aside from that I really enjoyed this story. It is fun and flirty and silly and cute. It is a light easy read and it would be great to read on vacation. This book could very easily be a TV movie.
It is a fun read and while not my favorite by this author I still enjoyed it.
Four Stars.

Love,Unscripted is a fun romantic story. Chloe Anderson writes a book with the leading man being a who is wonderful and understanding. Her novel is going to be turned into a movie. Liam is the actor that they have picked for this role, The only drawback with him is that he has a reputation and is opposite of the character in the book. Chloe and Liam decide to go into a fake relationship to make him look better and get more followers for Chloe. Another wonderful rom-com from Denise Hunter. Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins Christian Publishing. This is my opinion.
In Love, Unscripted, author, Denise Hunter, delivers a cute store about a small town writing and the star of her book turned movie. The pacing of the narrative is well-balanced, keeping the reader engaged The dialogue is fairly natural and engaging, contributing to the overall authenticity of the characters and their interactions. It does have several unrealistic scenarios and is at times a little rushed, but It's a fun story that's a clean, easy read.
LOVE, UNSCRIPTED by DENISE HUNTER is a lovely read, set in the small town of Stillwater Bay, with very real characters that the author portrays with her great insight into human nature.
When a local girl, Chloe Anderson’s, best selling novel is about to be turned into a movie she is thrilled, excepting for the fact that the actor that has been chosen to play the part of her hero, Ledger Ford, does not live up to the perfect man she has created in her book - the man with whom all her readers have fallen in love. Instead the producers have chosen Liam Hamilton, the “greatest player” in Hollywood, whose bad reputation precedes him……
What we learn from this entertaning story is that people are not always who they seemnto be on the outside. Although Chloe and Liam live completely different lives, they both struggle with rejection issues due to their respective fathers’ abandonment. We also see how famous people’s lives are not their own, and also the fickleness of people in a community. The themes of forgiveness, friendship and family dynamics are very strong.
I do not want to tell you any more for fear of spoiling things for you.
I cannot recommend this beautifully written and entertaining book strongly enough.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are competely my own.
Denise Hunter is so good at writing comfy romantic stories. I know I am going to get a happy ending and the cutest swoony moments when I pick up one of her books. Love, unscripted, is full of those moments and lots of hilarious interactions between our characters. The way their mutual understanding turns into friendship into something more was beautifully written. Our two main characters are equally likable, and together, they are definitely a couple worth rooting for. If you want a cute romcom read, this one won't disappoint you.
Though I was given an arc to read early these thoughts are my own
Denise Hunter does it again with Love Unscripted! She wrote another fun, easy to read, clean romance novel.
Chloe Anderson creates the perfect boyfriend on paper. But, when she meets Liam, the lead actor in the book turned movie, she’s not sure he’s the perfect match for her idea of the perfect boyfriend. He sets out to prove her wrong when they pretend to date to enhance their careers.
This book was so good! I was hooked from the first page and it didn't let me go from the first page. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Love Unscripted by Denise Hunter was is so entertaining and the main characters are so much fun. I was hooked on the first chapter. Denise Hunter is one of my favorite authors. Her characters always have such quick wit in their conversations that keep you smiling. Almost like that friend we all have that you feel better after being with them. Her books never let me down.
The plot is a different in some ways from other romances and that makes it more appealing. Chloe is a up and coming author with a book that is very popular and a movie is being made from the book.
Liam and Chloe are the main characters. Liam is a famous actor whose reputation is being destroyed by lies from social media and magazines. Liam has signed a contract to play the lead in the movie. Chloe is less than pleased with the signing because of his reputation After meeting him and having several conversations, they decided for the best of the movie to act like they were in a relationship to get the rumors of his love life down. This relationship continues through most of the filming of the movie. They fooled the paparazzi, social media and family into thinking they were really dating. But soon, real feelings for each other surfaced and confused them both. As the fake relationship is exposed by someone and truth is known by all, their relationship unravels. You will love seeing how this all works out.

I always enjoy stories written by Denise Hunter. This one is no different. When Chloe writes a best seller and finds out it's being made into a movie, she is thrilled. Her life hasn't been what she hoped for, so she created a male character that would be the man of her dreams. (or is he?)
When she finds out the movie company has hired an actor she doesn't feel fits the role because of his past and what the tabloids have written.
An engaging story with a great setting, wonderful character development, small town coziness, family love and drama, friendships and a few misunderstandings that held my attention and had me hoping for a perfect romantic ending for Chloe.
This book was a fairly easy read that held my attention all the way through. Set in coastal North Carolina, it had all the bea<chy vibes with the added bonus of a bookstore nearby. Book stores always hook me and reel me in.
Chloe Anderson has written a best-seller that is being adapted into a movie. The actor playing Ledger, the hero of the book is Liam Hamilton, a Hollywood hunk with a pretty bad reputation. Chloe doesn't realize she's on speaker phone when she is informed that Liam will play the lead and she does not react well to the news. From there, life gets interesting, to say the least.
Denise Hunter has written a pretty standard novel using the romance novel formula--and when it comes down to <boy loses girl>, it is done in a most spectacular fashion where all kinds of secrets are revealed. Betrayal is rife, even though it was a rather bit player in the book who does the betraying.
There is a very cute side story going on at the same time where Chloe's brother and her best friend, Meghan, become enamored of each other. And it is Meghan who finds out who truly betrayed Chloe.
The one thing I have against this book is that it is labeled as a Christian book but Christ is not mentioned anywhere in the book. There is no mention of faith or active Christian lifestyles. It IS a clean romance, where passionate kissing is the steamiest part of the book.
Four Stars.
Thomas Nelson Fiction provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
This was such a sweet book. Great characters, and a fun setting of a movie production. Perfect for a beach read or to settle in with an enjoy on a chilly winter night - it's sweet and romantic without being graphic. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well, they added to the story without being a distraction
Love, Unscripted is another sweet, clean, inspiring romance by Denise Hunter. A fake relationship is one of my favorite tropes, and the humor in this story is top-notch. Chloe and Liam are an adorable couple, and if you love small town romances then this book is definitely for you. I really enjoyed it, and I would happily recommend it to everyone.
Chloe’s biggest dream is coming true . Her bestselling book is coming to theatre !
She wants it to be perfect: especially with the leading actor/actress.
When she’s told who is the leading actor she tells it like it is. She is not impressed with his character , with his lifestyle and so on and so forth only to find out a little too late that he’s listening to the call . This part made me laugh out loud.
The lead actor , Liam comes to her town to check out the town where the filming will take place. He is having a serious image problem and he and his agent (and best friend ) decide the solution would be to pretend date the author, Chloe. Chloe at first says a big no but then changes her mind when she realizes how much it can help her and because she can ensure that Liam knows what the character is really like. Pretend dating soon turns into real dating but insecurities and trust issues might make it pretend again.
I enjoyed the book! Did I know what would happen from the beginning ? Yes. Did I continue to read and still really enjoy the book ? Yes. I enjoyed learning more about Chloe and Liam: their lives , their friends and family. There were some side stories including Chloe’s brother and best friend which just added to the overall story.

Have you ever dreamed of that perfect boyfriend? In Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter Chloe Anderson pens the perfect boyfriend in her debut bestselling novel. The book is so popular that a company picks up the movie rights and against Chloe’s wishes casts the known bad boy of Hollywood as the lead role. Sparks fly – for good or bad? You will need to grab a copy to find out.
I absolutely love Denise Hunter’s books. Thanks NetGalley and Harper Collins Christian Publishing for my ARC.
This book is a cute story about two people that fall in love, although it is an unlikely match. Chloe is having her book turned into a film and Liam is cast as a main role against her wishes. This book was a sweet quick read that reminded me of watching a Hallmark movie. Although predictable, I enjoyed reading this book.
This is an interesting read. What starts out as a fake relationship turns into something more serious, but not without misunderstandings and challenges.
This read gives you a true but frightening look at Hollywood and filming movies. I would never survive!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. My opinions are my own.
Chloe Anderson has written a bestselling romance that is now being made into a major movie. She is excited until she discovers the bad-boy actor Liam Hamilton has been cast in the lead role of the perfect boyfriend. Chloe expresses her dismay and disgust to the producer on the phone not realizing Liam is in the room, and overhears her withering feelings. Soon Liam and the cast are out in Chloe’s town to shoot the film and Chloe inadvertently gets associated with him via a paparazzi photo. She and Liam who have had a rocky start, are forced for the sake of the movie to look like they are an item. Chloe hopes she can at least give Liam some tips on how to portray the ultimate book boyfriend and soon they become friends and find themselves falling for each other.
Denise Hunter has penned a sweet romantic story filled with some humor as well as deeper themes of how children are affected by the betrayal of their parents. Liam is dealing with a severely alcoholic mother. Chloe’s father abandoned her for another family. She carries the abandonment into all her relationships as does Liam.
The setting of a beachside town in North Carolina is lovely and Denise handles the issues of a writer faced with watching her novel be turned into a film with the sophistication that can only come from personal experience. The subplot of Chloe’s best friend and her brother also is compelling.
I received a complimentary advance reader copy and this review is my honest opinion.
