This is the first book I have read by this author and it makes me want to read more of this series. Very sweet and romantic, a perfect book for a rainy day.

3 Stars! Thank you, to the publisher, for this eARC via Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion!

The story touches on love, fake dating and more with a holiday twist. I really enjoyed getting to know Gwen and Logan. Overall, the story was cute and not too cheesy. Plus I am a sucker for holiday themed storylines.

I would definitely recommend it to those who enjoy contemporary romance.

I gotta tell you about this awesome book called One Sweet Holiday—it's the third one in Lucy Day's Jasmine Falls Love Stories series. I was totally hooked, I'm on a mission now to grab the first two books in the series!

Picture this: a fantastic holiday rom-com in a small town called Jasmine Falls, South Carolina. It felt like home right from the get-go. The characters, especially Gwen and Logan, were so cool. I loved their fake-dating adventures and the opposites-attract thing they had going on.

Lucy Day painted this vivid picture of the town; it was like I was right there. And let me tell you, the character interactions were a riot. Gwen and Logan had me grinning from ear to ear throughout the whole story. I love how easy it is to just get hooked and finish it quickly, especially since it's Christmas + Winter season now, just fit-in perfectly with the theme of the book! So if you're into charming small-town vibes, cute banter, and the whole opposites-attract deal.

I totally recommend checking out One Sweet Holiday and the other one if you're into heartwarming, laugh-out-loud romances. Huge thanks to NetGalley and Blue Crow Publishing for letting me dive into these books before they hit the shelves! <3<3

This book got me out of a reading slump. I loved everything about it.

I loved the sister bond between Gwen and Victoria, Logan offering help in the form of skills not money and the support and encouragement Logan provided.

I couldn’t recommend this book enough.

This book was so cute! It’s a perfect holiday read. I didn’t share this review in depth on my bookstagram account, but I did share it with my community on the attached post.

With most romance novels, and holiday books as well, you typically know what you’re going to get, so it’s a true art form to engage the audience all the way through. I loved the characters. I loved the romance arc, and I loved how it all wrapped up in the end!

This is such a great book and will remain on my holiday recommendations for next year!

This was such a feel good holiday read and one I just had to fit in before putting Christmas behind me for another year!

I adored our main character Gwen, she was so relatable! From her clumsiness to her witty comments, I found myself chuckling as I could definitely see myself in some similar scenarios.
Fake dating is one of my favourite tropes and this had an element of this however, it was more like real dating when you read from both perspectives and can see their true feelings from the very beginning.

The only thing this book was missing for me, was more of Logan and Gwen’s relationship. I wanted a little more excitement but enjoyed reading.

I think this book was middle of the road for me. I have never read anything from Lucy Day before, although I think I have heard the name. I do think reading this in January rather than during the Christmas time did affect me a bit, since I am so over Christmas at this point (lol). Should I have read this in December, I could see how this could have been a good cozy read, but it just wasn't what I was looking for at the moment. The characters were cute, though, and the relationship was, too. It was well-executed, but not something I would ever read again.

This was a sweet instalove romance. Loved Gwen and wanted to punch her mom!

Thanks Net Galley for the temporary ARC to review. These thoughts are my own.

I unfortunately do not remember how this ended. I do however remember loving the idea of this, but the FMC rubbed me the wrong way, as did her sister and the rest of her family. It was frustrating, the way she was treated, but I understand the importance of it to the plot. It was enjoyable, but not entirely memorable for me.

A cute slow burn holiday romance. Love a good opposites attract story. Felt like a hallmark romcom movie.

One Sweet Holiday was a cute holiday read. The characters were hilarious and while I could see the plot twists coming from a mile away, it was still a fun romance read. I love that the MMC seems to fall almost immediately and he does so much to reassure the FMC that she is worthy of care and affection. This book was really heartful and I would recommend to anyone looking for a cute and clean romance.

Finally a main character I can relate to! A nice holiday romantic book you don’t want to end! Two complete opposites attracting like opposite poles just like it would happen in real life, but still romantic enough that you get to disconnect and just day dream!

Thanks netgalley for the copy

A sweet closed door fake dating romance. Enjoyed the two love interests and their stories. I did find the plot wasn’t fully formed and the tension/ situations in the novel came about and were solved very quickly, think it could have benefited from a few more chapters.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy

ne Sweet Holiday -Lucy Day

This holiday rom com was everything sweet you’d expect from a romance backdropped by a bakery. Seriously.

Gwen’s sister is getting married. It’s Christmas. It’s her busiest season at work. And did I mention that last year, she cancelled her wedding just days before? Needless to say she’s not looking forward to this holiday season.

And then it all changes when Logan shows up. Scottish, devilishly handsome, billionaire Logan lands right next door.

This could have been entirely too cliched and predictable if it weren’t for Gwen. Her character is really well written, in my opinion, and far too relatable. Perfectionist. Responsible to a fault. Making sure everyone is okay and, sure, a bit of a workaholic. She has layers of family drama to wrestle through and all of it just works.

Logan is everything you want for a leading man. He’s a fixer - which Gwen needs - and it could be overbearing except that he does it with such kindness….and the Scottish brogue.

Try this one if you like :

🧁 small town setting
🧁 some good sister vibes
🧁 romance by proximity
🧁 opposites attract
🧁 holiday parties and ugly Christmas sweaters
🧁 cozy, cute stories that wrap up with a bow

It just made me smile…can you ask for more than that over the holidays?

Dnf, I was too bored and didn't care what happened between the main characters. There wasn't enough interest in the relationship

Book Review 📚
One Sweet Holiday by Lucy Day - 4.5/5

I'm ashamed to say that this is my first book by Day, I'm not a huge lover of mushy romcoms, especially at Christmas time (yes I'm a Scrooge). But this was absolutely amazing. I really loved the whole thing and would happily read it again.

Imagine, just imagine sitting in a big cuddle chair with a soft blanket, rain hitting the windows, a cup of hot chocolate, Christmas tree in the background and a perfect Christmas book. Now when I set that scene the book I'm holding is One Sweet Holiday.

The writing style is beautiful, such wonderful wording and descriptions and it was so easily to start reading and not stop until you are done. An amazing plot and story, with amazing characters (most of which are likeable). A perfect Christmas book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Blue Crow Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC - this is an HONEST review from my own personal opinion.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.1 rounded down to 4/5.

Lucy Day's "One Sweet Holiday" invites readers into the heartwarming chaos of Christmas in the small town of Jasmine Falls, South Carolina. Centered around Gwen Griffin's quest for the perfect wedding date for her sister's upcoming nuptials, the novel combines a cute holiday rom-com with the classic fake dating trope.

The strengths of the book lie in its heartwarming narrative, creating a festive atmosphere without venturing into cheesy territory. The relationship between Gwen and Logan, the hot Scottish bazillionaire next door, adds a delightful touch to the story. Their fake dating arrangement unfolds into a genuine connection, offering readers a comforting and quick read.

The support and charm that Logan brings to Gwen's life are particularly commendable, and the novel successfully addresses the complexities of difficult family relationships. The sisterly bond between Gwen and Victoria adds a layer of depth to the story, creating a relatable dynamic that resonates with readers.

However, the novel does have its shortcomings. The predictability of the plot's direction and the reliance on certain romantic tropes, such as insta-love, might deter readers seeking a more nuanced narrative. The lack of extensive plot development could leave some wanting more substance to the storyline.

Repetition surfaces in the form of the mothers' obsession with finding partners for Gwen and Logan, which may feel redundant to some readers. Additionally, Gwen's reluctance to share the true reason behind her canceled wedding raises questions.

While the panic attack Gwen experiences upon seeing her ex-fiancé with his new partner may seem contradictory given her feelings toward him, it contributes to the emotional tension in the story.

In conclusion, "One Sweet Holiday" is a charming addition to the holiday romance genre, providing a delightful escape into the festivities of small-town Christmas. Its strengths in heartwarming storytelling and the exploration of family dynamics outweigh the predictable elements and minor inconsistencies. Fans of closed-door romance and those seeking a standalone holiday read will find enjoyment in Gwen and Logan's journey.

This made for a quick and enjoyable holiday read. The romance was steamy without being explicit and the characters were mostly likeable and easy to get to know.

Gwen is nervous about her sister's upcoming wedding after having to break off her own engagement last year. Enter the "hot Scot" Logan - heir to a massive fortune, add a heaping spoonful of small town holiday fun and you've got the perfect combo for a holiday romance.

The book was fairly predictable and moved a bit quickly at times, but I appreciated that Gwen was imperfect and felt more like "every girl" with normal fears and insecurities.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an advanced copy to read. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.

A fun holiday romp. The ending was a bit abrupt, but the overall story was enjoyable, and a solid holiday read.
