The story got me hooked, and I finished it in just a few hours!

I loved Hannah; she's an amazing and vibrant character, despite having some insecurities. I have to confess, at first, I wasn't really into Liam, but as the story unfolded and the character grew, he won me over. Seeing him stand up for her and defend Hannah really warmed my heart.

This book has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, and the spicy scenes are just * chef kiss *.

Thank you, NetGalley and NRC Publishing, for sending me this ARC.

"Mostly Loathing You" by Nicole Ryan is a delightful romantic novel that explores the thin line between love and loathing. The story revolves around Hannah Thatcher-Miles and Liam Park, whose relationship has been defined by animosity and dislike. However, when circumstances force Hannah to accept a position at Liam's father's law firm as his assistant, they find themselves in close proximity, leading to unexpected twists and turns.

The novel's strength lies in the dynamic between the two protagonists. Hannah and Liam's banter, tension, and evolving relationship create a compelling narrative that keeps the reader engaged. The author skilfully navigates the complexities of their connection, revealing layers of vulnerability and understanding beneath the initial loathing. The tension builds as they are thrown into situations that require them to revaluate their feelings.

Nicole Ryan's writing is engaging, balancing humour, romance, and emotional depth. The pacing of the story allows for the gradual development of the characters and their relationship, adding authenticity to their journey. The incorporation of familial relationships, especially the connection between Hannah's brother's wedding and their workplace interactions, adds additional layers to the narrative.

The exploration of the theme "love and loathing" is well-executed, prompting readers to question the nature of emotions and whether initial animosity can transform into something deeper. The novel captures the essence of the romantic comedy genre, providing moments of levity and heart-warming connection.

"Mostly Loathing You" is an enjoyable read for fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedies. Nicole Ryan delivers a satisfying blend of witty dialogue, romantic tension, and character development, making it a recommended choice for those seeking a light-hearted and engaging love story. The novel's exploration of the transformative power of emotions adds depth to the familiar trope of enemies-to-lovers, creating a story that is both entertaining and heart-warming.

This book was a hit right away with the opening dedication and playlist. They really set the tone for the book and I was hear for it!

This story follows Hannah and Liam. Their families have been best friends forever, and they have hated each other for a while! So much tension - It’s the classic brother's best friend/family friend/enemies-to-lovers trope.

The story really came together when Hannah moved to Atlanta and started working at her family's company temporarily, with Liam. These two had quite the tension!!

I thought this was a fun and easy read! It was great watching Hannah’s growth and seeing her achieve her goals. You really root for her in this story!

I do feel like they got together too fast for my taste - I prefer a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers more!

But, if you're looking for an easy, fun read with great characters - I would definitely suggest this book!

Tropes:
*Brothers best friend
*Childhood enemies
*Forced proximity

Hannah and Liam have a shared history with their parents being close family friends, and with Hannah's brother being friends with Liam. However Hannah and Liam have never gotten along which is ok when they had limited interaction.
However that changes when Hannah takes a job working alongside Liam and with this added proximity the scene is set for an enemies-to-lovers story.

I could not believe that this is the authors 2nd novel - it was good with fully fleshed out characters, the banter/text messages between the main characters is so cute and funny, and I really easily devoured this book in one day.

I'm all for a enemies to lovers. This was a wonderful enemies to lovers book. The only thing that I got a little confused for during reading was the relation to everyone in the book but once I paid better attention, I got it pretty easily. That was a me problem not a book issue.

Hannah and Liam have been in each others lives forever. They grew up together, Liam is Hannah's brother Jackson's best friend. Liam and Hannah have always had a small bit of rivalry and contention between them growing up. It was hinted at that there was one particular moment that solidified Hannah's hatred of Liam and thankfully was further explained.

Reading these two navigate going from hating each other, to employee boss, then to sleeping together was a riot. There anger towards each other really only fueled the way their attraction imploded between them. I loved seeing Liam stand up to Hannah's mother and he really grew so much as a character throughout the book when he started to put aside whatever resentment he had towards Hannah. He did have some dumb boy moments but, he's a man so that's bound to happen.

Overall, it was just what I enjoy in an enemies to lovers romance.
