I truly enjoyed this book. Sarah Ready's description of settings and facial expressions really enthralls you in this book and transports you. For me it felt more like watching a movie than reading a book in some ways.
Serena's miscommunication and I hate love attitude was frustrating for a second, but honestly, it made the 'enemies' to lovers all that more enjoyable for me. I usually hate when a character gets too attached fast or moves too quickly, but for some reason, in this book, it just seemed right.....
I found myself laughing out loud multiple times and it was just a fun read.
Thank you, Sarah Ready and NetGalley for giving me early access to this novel!

Writing: Quirky Plot: Unique, but not for everyone Rating: 4 stars Genre: Contemporary Romance Tags: Insta-love, opposites attract, forced proximity, fake dating, slow burn, minimal steam
"Switched" by Sarah Ready is a quirky and romantic tale that explores the complexities of love and self-discovery in a refreshingly unique way. The occasional breaking of the fourth wall, diagrams, and footnotes provided an interactive experience that enriched the storytelling and kept me intrigued throughout.
I loved the Freaky Friday body swap trope, but it felt a little weird watching Serena fall for Henry despite him looking and acting like her. I also enjoyed being able to relate to Serena's feelings of love being an end-all to the person she was. I also grew up with the theory that to fall in love was to lose yourself and your dreams.
Despite the central romance, I couldn't help but feel that the chemistry between Serena and Henry fell short of expectations, it lacked any depth and intensity until the final 20% of the book.
Nevertheless, "Switched" remains an enjoyable read, characterized by its whimsical charm and heartfelt exploration of love and self-discovery. Despite its occasional quirks and minor shortcomings, the story offers a delightful escape into a world where love transcends boundaries and challenges preconceived notions.
Thank you to Netgalley for sending me this ARC to read.

I had a fun time reading this novel! Definitely an interesting concept with the author’s own twist. Would recommend 10/10
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book centers around a plot that had me intrigued from the beginning: switching bodies and falling in love. The two main characters have a funny meet cute where the female mc literally gets stuck to a seat and the male mc has to help her. Sparks fly and their night is magical, but that’s not when the body swap happens.
Serena fears getting serious and pushes Henry away suddenly after realizing they’ll be working together. Late one night they are working in the lab when the unexpected happens and they wake up in each others’ bodies.
It would be easy for this concept to go cringe as there are mentions of physical differences and challenges of living in the opposite genders’ body, but they are tactfully done and the characters show tender care for each other as they face those challenges. Forced to attend a family wedding and deal with a family health scare, they become closer than ever as they live for each other.
This book is science-y and smart. I like that the female main character is prioritizing her hopes and dreams and the male main character is a supportive softie. An enjoyable read if you love Freaky Friday!

Switched, by Sarah Ready, is a cute opposites-attract rom-com, with definite Freaky Friday vibes, all set in a nerdy, STEM-filled atmosphere.
It's a quick easy read that even comes with electronic (I read an ebook) footnotes! Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

I always end up enjoying Sarah Ready's books; they always provide a delightful reading experience. This particular book was no exception. I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the story and of course, charmed by the characters. The inclusion of scientific tidbits. physics, and illustrations added an extra layer of fun when reading. However, what truly stood out were the footnotes; they were a brilliant and unique addition that added depth and humor to the narrative. I found myself wishing for even more footnotes, as they brought such a playful element to the story. The chemistry between Serena and Henry was another highlight for me. While I initially found the switching a bit jarring, I quickly grew to appreciate it. Witnessing Henry and Serena's gradual discovery of each other was a cute journey, and I loved seeing them get their happy ending. Overall, this book was fun to read, and I would recommend it to others.

4 stars ⭐️
This was such a cute read! I blew through it in two days. Freaky Friday, but make it nerdy. And I’m here for it! Fans of Ali Hazelwood, like myself, will eat this up.
I really enjoyed the author’s writing style and humor. It’s light-hearted and funny, but also has moments of sentimentality. I laughed out loud several times while reading this. And there were several heart-warming moments. It did start out with a lot of physics talk. Like A LOT. And while I was a science nerd in school, physics was my worst subject. But it was overall easy to follow and it chilled out pretty quickly. The characters were great. Serena (or Ducky) is the primary POV, and she’s hilarious. I really enjoyed Henry too.
There’s some instalove in this story, which is far from my favorite trope. However, I think it worked really well here. Without giving too much away, Serena is extremely avoidant of love to focus on her career, leading Henry to not be her biggest fan despite their instant connection. But I loved how, while being in one another’s body, they learn so much about each other. It was giving literal “put yourself in someone else’s shoes.” They begin to understand each other on such a visceral level,
Part of me wishes I would have listened to this on audio because I think listening to the accent switch would have been hilarious hahah.
Overall, this was an adorable opposites-attract romcom, and I highly recommend it!
Thank you to Netgalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for the eARC!

I love this series! It does a perfect job portraying the complexity that is love, but in the funniest, most magical way. I love the characters and their development in this one. I would recommend this to any and everyone.
Thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review

I absolutely adored this book. I could not put it not down, literally had my kindle in my hand while cooking.
It’s rare that I'll love every character in a book, but I loved every single one of these wee fictional people. This is an incredibly beautiful and well written story on true love and how it impacts us as human beings.
If you love Love and have a liking for physics, I recommend reading this book.

I absolutely loved Ghosted so I was so excited to read Switched. Another great premise ( love body swap films) in this series of books, and while I love the author's writing style and her humour which is in abundance when the characters swap bodies, I found this story quite confusing at times once they'd switched!
There is a lot of scientific references too which is completely understandable from the story pov but it was a bit too much for me to understand. I think that if you are scientific minded you will love and appreciate this story. Because of the above points I found it hard to fully connect to the story and ultimately their romance,

so i did like the idea behind this book and now the main characters get to know/understand each other. i also found some moments that made me giggle! i enjoyed it but i think i just wanted more from it.

I haven't read a Sarah Ready book before, but had seen them all over instagram, and also know that some of the other bookstagrammers who are participating in #arcmarch would be reading this one so I decided to give it a shot. The story is about two physicists who fall madly in love but are unable to act on it, and then one day they switch bodies in a freaky friday-esque event. Unfortunately.... I didn't get that far. I DNF'd at 20%. I did keep reading along hoping that the big event would happen and I might get sucked in, but I found myself skimming lots and just couldn't get into it. There were a few problems for me, the first was that there was too much physics stuff. I took an astronomy class in first year of university and gosh, it was hard. I have no idea what she was talking about with half of the stuff and while the graphs and charts and science nerd moments were cute, it wasn't enough to make the more dense science stuff work for me. I also wasn't a huge fan of Serena's character. I need a good connection to the character or a very interesting storyline in order to enjoy a romance novel and with both of those not happening this time, it just wasn't really meant to be. I will take a peek at her other books though because maybe this one just wasn't the right one for me.

4/5 🌟
3/5 🌶 = PG13
Trigger Warning: Parental health crisis
Bonus: Freaky-Friday inspired romcom, Asian representation, women in STEM, enemies to lovers, he falls first.
One minute you're minding your own business, the next you've switched bodies with your boss who you slept with before realizing he was your boss.
This story about Serena and Henry was laugh out loud funny. Anytime an audiobook has me guffawing, I know it's good. I loved the funny banter, a happily ever after, and the body swap twist.
The only thing I would say was that it was at times easy to forget they body swapped during the book, but that didn't affect the story.
Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC and ALC of Switched.
Having read the first book in the Ghosted series, I was excited to read Switched. This works as a standalone but characters from the first book are side characters in this one. The premise intrigued me because I have never read a Freaky Friday-esque novel, especially a romance. Honestly, it didn't really work for me. I cannot picture falling in love with someone in my body while in their body so it was very challenging for me to enjoy the story. The main character would also break the 4th wall and I personally was not a fan of that either. Overall, the story was a quick, cute, insta-love but the body swap was not my favorite.

I definitely loved the body switch twist that makes this unique from most other rom com type books. I also appreciate that the characters met almost immediately as I hate when it takes like 5 chapters to met the love interest. Both of the characters were likable but I really wish it was more dual pov rather than just 1 chapter. I also feel like the science-y jargon went a little over my head but overall I enjoyed this quirky and pretty face paced book!

This was a DNF for me simply because the author's writing does not work for me - it's overly detailed for what seems to be no other reason than lengthening out the story. In this book, the FMC was speaking directly to the reader with footnotes and graphs - not my cup of tea. I do appreciate that Ready's stories are unique, but I think her writing style makes it hard for more to appreciate them.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing the arc!

Switched was a delightful twist on. a romance and had several funny moments at the start when the main characters find themselves in each other's body. Serena believes she can only ever love science because falling in love means giving up your identity and self to the other. She's never going to do that - then she meets Henry. He's her new boss and they've just had a supposed one night stand - until he says he loves her. The two main characters are physicists that work at CERN so there are a lot of references to science. Henry is the nerdy type and Serena is the (unfortunately too typical) sloppy and slightly scatter-brained type.
The prose is good, lots of description that's very well done. My only complaints are the long existential discussions on what love is and that the ending went on for a full chapter longer than necessary. Maybe all that was leading to a follow-up book but I didn't care about it.

Even before starting this book I knew I would have liked it since I am a 2000 baby and absolutely loved It´s a boy Girl Thing.
If you, like me, were a fan of thet little gem than Switched it´s definitely for you.
It is a laugh out loud book, very easy and happy going with a super nice approach to the switching body concept.
I loved that even if the main character switched their bodies were craving what they were used to. I think it was a super nice and distinctive touch.
The audiobook was very well produced and the voice actress did an amazing job with the accents. I was laughing out loud when Serena was trying to do the brithish accent. Chef kiss.
Also Henry was so sweet. I love a well written cinnamon roll.

I started reading this and thought I had missed something. I then realised there is a previous book that introduces some of the characters even though the book alone can be enjoyed without reading the previous one. After that I was able to relax into the book and although it has a common story line to others I have read before I did enjoy the fact that the main characters had substance, they were educated, they had common interests in science which I thought gave the story another level. I really enjoyed it and will read the others written by this author

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc. This was delightful. You can tell Sarah Ready had fun writing this. Some parts were a bit ridiculous, but it was fun. I hate insta love but it actually worked well here. I mostly listened the audio and the narrator did a fantastic job.
This could definitely be read as a standalone, though you'd miss the fun of Zelda's cameo. This is perfect for someone looking for a lighthearted rom com with minimal second hand embarrassment (aka the bane of existence).
