I definitely loved the body switch twist that makes this unique from most other rom com type books. I also appreciate that the characters met almost immediately as I hate when it takes like 5 chapters to met the love interest. Both of the characters were likable but I really wish it was more dual pov rather than just 1 chapter. I also feel like the science-y jargon went a little over my head but overall I enjoyed this quirky and pretty face paced book!

This was a DNF for me simply because the author's writing does not work for me - it's overly detailed for what seems to be no other reason than lengthening out the story. In this book, the FMC was speaking directly to the reader with footnotes and graphs - not my cup of tea. I do appreciate that Ready's stories are unique, but I think her writing style makes it hard for more to appreciate them.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing the arc!

Switched was a delightful twist on. a romance and had several funny moments at the start when the main characters find themselves in each other's body. Serena believes she can only ever love science because falling in love means giving up your identity and self to the other. She's never going to do that - then she meets Henry. He's her new boss and they've just had a supposed one night stand - until he says he loves her. The two main characters are physicists that work at CERN so there are a lot of references to science. Henry is the nerdy type and Serena is the (unfortunately too typical) sloppy and slightly scatter-brained type.
The prose is good, lots of description that's very well done. My only complaints are the long existential discussions on what love is and that the ending went on for a full chapter longer than necessary. Maybe all that was leading to a follow-up book but I didn't care about it.

Even before starting this book I knew I would have liked it since I am a 2000 baby and absolutely loved It´s a boy Girl Thing.
If you, like me, were a fan of thet little gem than Switched it´s definitely for you.

It is a laugh out loud book, very easy and happy going with a super nice approach to the switching body concept.
I loved that even if the main character switched their bodies were craving what they were used to. I think it was a super nice and distinctive touch.

The audiobook was very well produced and the voice actress did an amazing job with the accents. I was laughing out loud when Serena was trying to do the brithish accent. Chef kiss.

Also Henry was so sweet. I love a well written cinnamon roll.

I started reading this and thought I had missed something. I then realised there is a previous book that introduces some of the characters even though the book alone can be enjoyed without reading the previous one. After that I was able to relax into the book and although it has a common story line to others I have read before I did enjoy the fact that the main characters had substance, they were educated, they had common interests in science which I thought gave the story another level. I really enjoyed it and will read the others written by this author

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc. This was delightful. You can tell Sarah Ready had fun writing this. Some parts were a bit ridiculous, but it was fun. I hate insta love but it actually worked well here. I mostly listened the audio and the narrator did a fantastic job.
This could definitely be read as a standalone, though you'd miss the fun of Zelda's cameo. This is perfect for someone looking for a lighthearted rom com with minimal second hand embarrassment (aka the bane of existence).

4.5 rounded to 5 ⭐️ on Goodreads and retailer websites. Switched is the second book in the Ghosted series by Sarah Ready. In Ghosted, a young woman found the ghost of a man in her new apartment and the two fell in love. Switched is about that woman’s best friend, Serena Otaki, a free-spirited California girl who worked at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva Switzerland. She loved physics, coffee, Star Trek, her cat, and her own brand of disorganized chaos. She was happily unattached and planned to stay that way. Henry Joules was a buttoned up Brit who was about to start a new job as Serena’s new supervisor. He loved physics, piping hot tea, his family, red meat, dogs, and obsessively cleaning his immaculate apartment. He was looking forward to settling down with the woman of his dreams. Right before Henry started his job, the two met and came together for a magical night and love at first sight, from which Serena fled, purposely sabotaging any potential for a relationship. They were too different to be compatible, and love was not in their future. Then one night there was an electrical event at the particle collider and when they woke up, Serena was in Henry’s body and Henry was in Serena’s. They had two weeks vacation during which they needed to find a way to switch back while traveling across the world together visiting each other’s families, always in each other’s company. Suddenly life and love had become very complicated indeed.

Just as I loved Ghosted, Switched was a hit for me. The differences between Serena and Henry’s personalities were significant and when contrasted against the inclinations of the bodies they were inhabiting, the outcome was comedy gold. I loved how the author used the characters’ experiences in each other’s shoes to create the understanding and acceptance which was necessary to take two very different individuals and fuse them into a believable couple. I adored Henry and Serena, two very likable characters who truly fit together despite their apparent incompatibility. I laughed so hard I cried a number of times while reading this story. The audiobook was wonderful and the narrators were absolutely perfect. I wholeheartedly recommend this paranormal, one night stand, enemies to lovers, opposites attract love story to readers who love romantic comedy. I am voluntarily writing this honest review after reading/listening to an advanced complementary copy of this book thanks to Netgalley and W.W. Crown, an imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC.

I liked this book, I finished it super quickly. It was a great book to just sit and read and pass the time, it didn’t make me use too much effort to think about and focus on what was going on. It was a cute book but for me it was pretty forgettable.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% my own.

Every time I read a Sarah Ready book I am reminded of how much I love her writing style. The books draws me in immediately and I find myself binging them. Sarah Ready is a master at taking a romcom concept and making it unique and gripping.

Switched is the second book in the Ghosted series and I was glad to see characters from the first book pop up. I can’t wait to read the third book!

This was such a fun read with great characters and a capturing plot. I didn’t enjoy the British stereotyping and there were a few plot holes regarding the main characters quirks following the switching of the bodies, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and encourage others to pick it up!

Very well written but not really my cup of tea! You’ll enjoy this if you like the movie Freaky Friday but just as a romance version, science, and weird talk about switching bodies. It didn’t keep my attention but Sarah Ready writes unique stories!

Thank you Netgalley and W.W. Crown an Imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC, for providing me with an ARC of this book. This does not alter my opinions/rating of this book.
I was interested in this book so much that i read 50 pages without noticing it. This is such a cute romcom between two physicists who could not be more opposite than each other falling for each other. Callie has a carefree no-strings attached personality while Henry is the epitome of the family man willing to settle down. The author's writing style is very intriguing and easy to read. I found myself growing attached to characters in this book as the story continued. Even knowing that they would be switching bodies i could never expect what is going to happen next. A 5-star read for me is a book that gives me a physical reaction to the book. Such as feeling giddy, excited, gasping etc. This book did exactly that. This is such a cute rom com that will keep you hooked from the very beginning. I could not recommend this book enough.

Serena only has room for one love of her life. The stars. When Henry comes along, he looks like a good time. A fling to pass the time. However, sometimes our plans change. Serena has feelings for Henry. More than she wants to admit and he feels the same. Unfortunately, Henry is her boss and she shuts him down. But when they are switched into each other's bodies, they get a view they didn't bargain for. With family commitments on both sides coming up, they learn more about each other than they imagined.

I thought this was a cute cozy science romance. One of my favorite new genres. I thought that the characters were very likeable and fun. I'm not sure that I'm interested in the rest of the series, but I would look into them. The feelings confession overkill was a bit much for me. But I loved the characters and wanted to see how things turned out enough that I wasn't too put off by all the squishy lovey-dovey stuff.

Serena Otaki, a physicist at CERN in Geneva, has no interest in love or relationships. She doesn't want to lose herself by being with someone else. Then she meets Henry Joule who saves her after she gets herself varnished to a seat in a pub. Sparks fly and its love at first sight, but Serena is adamant she can not have a relationship at all, and she's just discovered he's her new boss. Fast forward a year of working together, they're both still pretending they don't have feelings for each other. Unfortunately, in a twist of fate, they both get stuck at work during a storm and switch bodies. Now, they have to navigate life as each other and figure out how to switch back quickly before it becomes too late.

I was invested in Serena and Henry's relationship from the very beginning. I love how Sarah Ready writes romance as this just felt so cosy and lovely. I loved seeing how Serena slowly came to the realisation that being in a relationship doesn't always mean you're going to lose yourself, and I loved seeing that Henry never gave up on his love for Serena. I also like how there was absolutely no miscommunication in this. Sarah Ready is definitely becoming one of my favourite romance authors.

This book started of slow and almost was a text book. Lots of long science descriptions that I just didn’t want from a novel and I almost quit.

But I did not and I am glad, it turned into a beautiful story about how we are shaped by our upbringing and how we get to choose which parts of that we bring to relationships.

In the end I liked it!

If you like fantasy stories like Freaky Friday, you will also like Switched. Henry and Serena ("Ducky") switch bodies after stating that they knew nothing about each other. Henry was in love with Serena, but she had no desire to get involved with anyone. She wanted to be her own person and didn't want to lose herself to someone else. They both learned much about the other person and their family relationships while living in the other person's body. Although we most likely won't change bodies with a special person in our lives, this book shows how it is important to really get to know someone. Often, their families provide much insight. You will need to read this book to find out if they ever switch back and is their a chance for them to live happily ever after.

This is my first book by Sarah Ready but I’ve already got additional books by her on my Kindle queued up and ready to go.

This book was a delightful take on “Freaky Friday”. It was fun. It was funny, and I adored the FMC.

The book follows Serena Otaki who is a brilliant and beautiful physicist who’s spent her whole life avoiding love in favor of her career. She’s messy and unorganized and totally relatable. Henry Joule (yes that Joule for my fellow science nerds) is her uptight, meticulous new boss. Did I mention he’s an Englishman and that they may have had a night of passion before they realized Henry was her new boss?

These two collide one night in the most unexpected way, leaving them in each other’s bodies. Utter chaos ensues and what’s left is a hilarious story of two people who learn that love sprouts in the most unpredictable places with people that you never expected.

As these two literally walk a mile in each other’s shoes, they get a deeper understanding and appreciation for how the other side and gender lives.

I will say that I did listen to the audiobook and read on my kindle at the same time. I found that the audiobook was fun, and the narrators were fantastic, but the story is mostly told from Serena’s point of view. I think that narration from Henry would have helped me keep the dialogue less confusing since they were in each other’s bodies. Also, there are some cute illustrations in the printed copy.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I feel like the concept was well done. This is a great book to grab a cup of coffee…or tea with and cozy up for an afternoon. Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing, for the advanced reader’s copy.

Paranormal romance is a new territory to me but I really am enjoying this series. This was a little harder for me to understand ( and I think it's because I'm dumb but I really recommend reading with an open mind to appreciate Serena's story).

I knew I would love Serena's personality since Jillian's story in Ghosted and her story was just perfect. She is the perfect nerd and though I was not a Star Trek fan, the amount of reference wasn't overwhelming. She's a physicist and I love the theories she discussed and the diagrams throughout the book. Henry was a dry character at first but I loved getting to know him and his family throughout the book. I think the idea of switching bodies (thought accidentally, MAYBE with the help of physics) helped each other understand their feelings toward one another. I love the idea of feeding into the body's memories and sticking through the body's preference even though the soul in it is a different "owner" or being. Serena is a career-driven character who chose physics over love with the fear of getting lost in whoever she falls with because she saw it in how she was raised; but throughout the book, we see the misunderstanding in her belief and how she found it all on her own-though with a little nudging from Henry. Also, Henry's POV in this story about made me cry. It's so beautiful. I recommend reading this if you're looking for a body-swap romance that is heaving in science too! It was a fun read overall!

Thank you NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

If you are a fan of the movie "It's a Boy Girl Thing" then this book is for you. This was a very quick read if you are looking for a palette cleanser in between longer/ heavier reads. It was witty and light, but seemed to break the 4th wall in unusual places. I love an enemies to lovers trope but it felt more like a self love to lovers book as the female main character falls in love through things that the main love interest does while in HER body. Overall the book was a fun read for me and I have already recommended it to others.

Pros:

Cute and Witty: The banter between Serena and Henry is sharp and full of moments where I was giggling and kicking my feet.

Body-Swap Premise: The sci-fi twist on the enemies-to-lovers trope adds a layer of depth that allows for unexpected situations.

Character Growth: While both Serena and Henry initially come across as narcissistic, the body-swap experience forces them to confront their flaws and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and each other.

Cons:

Borderline Narcissistic Leads: Both Serena and Henry can be self-absorbed in the beginning, which might turn some readers off.

Lighthearted Science: The science behind the body swap is more lighthearted than hardcore sci-fi, which might not appeal to everyone.

Predictable Plot: The enemies-to-lovers trope itself might be familiar to some readers. (But I eat it up every time)

A very cute rom com body switch HEA. This book had me giggling. I really enjoyed how adorable the MMC and FMC were.

In the end, I really enjoyed this story. Getting there… well, it was a little rough.

The first 80 pages or so were really choppy and seemed inconsistent and all over the place. Once Serena and Henry swap, it feels like another author has taken over and the story really comes together and feels much more linear and cohesive then the first quarter.

There’s your normal miscommunications and forced proximity while trying to figure out how to undo the switch. The events are interesting and humorous when appropriate.

All in - it’s a great quick read once you get through the first 9-10 chapters.
