Thank to Netgalley and publisher for an arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Publication: February 20, 2024

Rating: 3.5 stars

This was my first book by Ready and it was just the light hearted read that I needed. I did enjoy that you don’t need to read the first book in the series to understand what is happening with this story.

I was initially drawn in by the synopsis of switched bodies but I did enjoy that the storyline did go a bit deeper. The biggest thing that I struggled with was the romance aspect of it and I was in a huge fan of Serena. Overall, this is the perfect light hearted and emotional read for any reader.

Perfect for fans:
- Singular POV
- Opposites attract
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Workplace romance
- Women in STEM
- Instalove/ love at first sight
- Similar vibe to Ali Hazelwood

Switched was a delightful, fun read. The main character, Serena, is a physicist in Geneva. She meets an amazing man, Henry, one night while being stuck to her seat. However Serena does not want to fall in love. In a twist of fate, Serena and Henry switch bodies and have to learn to become each other. What follows is a fun, romantic story that you will not want to miss.

This was a great escape from daily life. I enjoyed reading about Henry and Serena becoming each other. I have read other books and seen other shows with a similar twist, but never about two people who are romantically interested in each other. As you can imagine this created many wonderful moments in the book. This was a perfect Rom-Com in book form.

Thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown and Imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The book is charming and lovely, with both character well defined and thought through, yet evolving throughout the story course. The trope of body swapping is not well explored in the genre, hence this is quite unique and interesting read. I really appreciated the footnotes and drawings, they added an extra layer of cuteness to the book.

I do have a small comment though: as a European it really was bothering me that Ducky got „a two euro pilsner” in Cock and Bull, since they use Swiss francs in there and pilsner pint price in pubs is usually higher than 2€.

Fairly predictable rom com but it was still a good read that I enjoyed. Ready's books for me tend to not be anything that blow me away.

I really enjoyed this book. At first, I wasn't sure about it, and it felt a bit slow, but once I got into it, I ended up loving it!

The story is about Serena and Harry, who end up switching bodies, and then they spend considerable time trying to switch them back. I found this story really interesting and funny, and it was really entertaining. I highly recommend this book!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

OMG I finished this book several days ago, and I still am struggling writing a review because so many thoughts and feelings are facing in my head. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with both an audiobook ARC and a digital ARC of the book.

This rom com story surrounds Serena and Henry, two physicists living and working in Geneva. Besides working together, they are complete opposites - but after an electrical storm, the two swapped bodies. Hilariously awkward, the two try to navigate each other’s personal lives while also trying to switch back.

As an audiobook, it took me a bit to adjust to Serena’s tangents, mostly surrounding physics, but I soon found it not only endearing, but also informative. I was so sad when I finished this audiobook - though I basically listened to it nonstop for two days straight. I would listen it driving to work, to the grocery store, even while doing chores all around my house. I was transfixed and transported to the lives of Serena and Henry. Not only that, I then requested the digital ARC so I could tandem read and look at any images and graphs that the author added.

I am not typically a fan of blonde and cinnamon-bun MMC’s, but how can you not fall in love with Henry Joules? This story had so many layers, intersecting the personal relationships of the main characters with the relationship development between Henry and Ducky. My only wish is that we got more of Henry’s POV in order to experience more of his character development. On that note, Kelsey Navarro Foster did a wonderful job at narrating Serena’s POV (and I’m not just biased because we share the same name), but James Anderson Foster’s voice felt a bit too aged for me to envision him as Henry. Serena’s growth through these experiences is exponential, and I loved the normalization of women in STEM being criticized for balancing romantic relationships and career independence. Usually, sweet reads like this give me a toothache, but this one was a perfect balance of romance, comedy, growth, understanding and hope. I especially appreciated the author’s reference to our “glasses” affecting our word experiences (IYKYK).

It's been a while since a story actually made me cry for the MMC. I picked this one up because I was intrigued by the premise, despite this genre not being something that I generally gravitate towards. And I definitely didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did!

I typically start these reviews off with my thoughts on the FMC. But, in this case, I'm starting with Henry, our MMC. I can't really explain why, but despite his quirks, he is an incredibly relatable character. It doesn't help that he was also so stinkin' cute.

Now, Serena was an interesting and likable FMC. Her hangups were relatively justified, but I'm sure that the only reason that she doesn't make it to the top of my list is because no one in the story lives up to Henry.

Their relationship is fun and ridiculous, and full of ups and downs. Through the course of their... "adventure"... They learn so much about each other, themselves and the people that they love the most.

It's almost as if Serena doesn't deserve Henry's sweetness, but she is fully redeemable simply for the fact that despite all of her protests, she is the only one that takes the time to get to know him and understand him.

Yeah, so I am obsessed with this series from Sarah Ready. Ghosted was incredible, Switched, also incredible! I will be waiting on the edge of my seat for Fated. Can it drop tomorrow? I am ready for more!

You know that feeling when you are engrossed in a story and simultaneously want to know the ending but also want it to never end and stay in that world forever? Yeah, that sums up Switched. Dare I say, as much as I absolutely adored Ghosted, I may have liked Switched even more? Is that possible? How about I just love them both an extraordinary equal amount and wait with bated breath for Fated. Serena is beautiful, intelligent, and STUBBORN. Love literally falls down on her from the stars and she still tries her hardest to fight it with everything she's got. I mean, Henry is British! As an American, I am in love the minute he opens his mouth. Speaking of, I am dying to know what it is he does with that tongue...

I really enjoyed this entertaining book! Serena meets Henry one night at a bar and sparks fly between them. Before they can take it any further, Serena finds out that Henry is her new boss at CERN, the world’s largest particle collider. They are both high level physicists, and months haven’t forgotten their first meeting.

One night they are both working during a fierce thunderstorm, the power goes out, and they switch bodies. The switch shows them their true feelings towards each other, but they don’t know how to switch back.

I liked the way the romance developed after they switched, the Swiss setting of CERN, and I learned about particle colliders as well! 5 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

Serena Otaki loves Physics, her one true love since she was a little girl. She doesn't think that she can have two loves. If she loves a man, she must give up her love for physics. She meets Henry Jules one night and they have a very intense night together. She might even be falling in love. But that can't happen, She won't let it. And worse of all, he feels it too. It turns out that he is her new team leader at work and she stops everything before it can go any farther. Then one night about a year and a half later, they somehow switch bodies. Now they have to figure out how to switch back.

I loved this book. It was amazing. I was laughing at parts, and crying at others. Everything a good romcom should be. There were a few fun twists and turns but that is what makes a book good. I loved how Serena learned so much about herself, even though she was in Henry's body and had to pretend to be him with both his family and hers. They still have some memories from the other person and through them, they both start to really learn and understand each other. Serena understands Henry's passion and Henry understands why Serena is so scared of love. I also really enjoyed the graphs, charts, and footnotes throughout the book. Because after all, what self-respecting scientist doesn't love a good chart?

After a swoon-worthy one-night stand and certain love at first sight, Serena learns that Henry is to be her new boss at her dream job as a physicist at CERN and immediately severs their relationship. Fast forward and a rare electric storm at the lab causes Serena and Henry to switch bodies and, in their attempts to switch back, end up having to stick by each others' side and heart.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ maybe a high 3, low 4)
Spice?: 🌶 fairly modest

This book is a STEM nerd's dream. The mystical elements to it were the thing that kept it most interesting. It took me a minute to hit the inflection point with this book but once I did, it was a fun, fast read. I loved Henry's honesty and transparency throughout the book. I loved that Serena was a sex-positive, feminine, bad ass STEM nerd.

The big leap in time a few chapters in was the most jarring thing about the book, less the suspension of disbelief from the body swap. The writing was a bit too flowery for me at times, with excessive space and place descriptors that didn't serve to move the story forward very much.

Read this if you love Ali Hazelwood's STEMinist books, The Seven-Year Slip, or the TV show The Big Bang Theory.

Thanks to Swift & Lewis Publishing and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy!

“Serena, I’d like it very much if we could switch back before next month.”

I did this one as an audiobook. The narrators were excellent, as always.

I didn’t realize this was a STEM themed book, which I don’t usually enjoy but it’s Sarah Ready who I love so I figured I’d stick with it. I know STEM is all the rage these day but it’s just not something I typically enjoy. However, if anyone could get me to STEM dabble it’s Sarah Ready. This one was fun once I got myself used to who was who and in which body 🤣😂😂

I laughed so hard at her description of Henry in the butterfly négligée and when he had to deal with a monthly lady issue 🤣😂

Sarah has a true gift for writing well rounded and well developed characters.

This is an extremely creative book, in the same vein of the first book in the series. A creative plot premise that I don't traditionally read a lot of. While it's the second book of a series - it's definitely a stand alone. I enjoyed that there were brief cameos of the characters in book one, but that would not detract from the story line if this was the first book from the series that the reader was reading.

Read this book if you enjoy:
> Women in STEM characters
> Fantasy/sci-fi story elements
> One bed
> He falls first
> Slow burn

I think the body-switching elements of the story were well crafted - for something that could easily get confusing to follow. The reversed POVs were interesting and mostly flowed well - a few times, I forgot that they'd actually switched bodies. There were parts of the story that went a bit over my head with all of the physics explanations and narrative. I enjoy a good woman in STEM character, but I'm not a physicist - which gave me a little bit of a challenge to follow along with a few plot points. I do think the author did the best they could to break down the concepts and try to make them accessible.

Overall, an enjoyable read - it moved pretty quickly and kept me engaged throughout the majority of the storyline. I was a bit disappointed that the MMC only got one chapter of POV. I was expecting more of a dual POV when I started the book, so that took a little time to adjust to.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the audio to listen to and review!

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for an advance copy of Switched by Sarah Ready!

“And by true love I don’t mean the kind where you’re giving yourself up. I mean the kind where you’re fully you”

This was the first book I’ve read of Sarah Ready and after this I am a fan! This feel good, charming story of two scientists who switch bodies made for such a cute read! A love conquers all if you will - and those truly are my favorite. It’s a bit of a slow burn, enemies to lovers and zero spice.

I was so excited to find another book in the same series as Ghosted. It was a great read, but this I one was better. I couldn't put it down, so I read it all I'm one sitting. It was like Freaky Friday, but it was a romance. It was funny and sweet. I am so glad the couple got their HEA, they deserved it.
