Worry lines (you're doing really well given the circumstances) is a fun book filled with cartoons about mental health, anxiety, fear of failure etc. The cartoon style wasn't really my thing but I would still recommend this book.

Thanks to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

WORRY LINES is a fun book about a hard topic. Written entirely as cartoons, this book provides affirmations for those struggling with (mild) depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and low self-worth. While a bit simplistic, it was still an enjoyable read.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of the book..

Anxiety, depression, procrastination, potatoes, stress-eating and bingeing on autopilot, optimism vs. pessimism, non-toxic positivity, the joys of sleeping - WORRY LINES tackles many of the topics you'd expect, with varying degrees of success. I liked the overall vibe of the book, but not all of the comics resonated with me. Although those that did? I'd like to print them out and hang them on my bulletin board.

fwiw, this is a book I'd likely borrow from the library vs. buying a copy for everyday use.

Everyone should read this book!!

"Worry Lines" is this awesome graphic novel that tackles mental health stuff with these cool illustrations that just make the whole experience better. The drawings are simple, yet super encouraging and relatable. Some parts will crack you up, and others will really make you think.

I didn't know about this artist's work before, but now I'm totally going to keep up with what they do and grab a physical copy of this book when it hits the shelves! Making art that's easy to get, helps people connect, and gives that comforting feeling that you're not alone isn't an easy feat. "Worry Lines" nails it by showing we're all dealing with similar stuff in our own ways.

Worry Lines is one of those books you have seen parts of, whether it is in social media or in a text someone forwards through apps. You can read a couple of strips and call it a day, you can devour the whole book like I just did and you can certainly gift it to someone that is not having the best time of their life.
This is one of these books that makes you feel seen and understood. You laugh at yourself while getting a clearer picture of what is happening inside. You feel yourself smiling page after page. Some of the strips are just a hug you may need; some others talk about more serious issues… but they are all just amazing.
I really appreciated the inclusion of the potato, one of the most used and less seen parts of being, well, complex characters navigating even more complex situations. While dealing with endless doubts, strange feelings, sadness and… yes, “potatoness”.
I will definitely reread this.

Worry Lines: You’re Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances is a sweet and heartwarming graphic novel that address mental health in a unique way.

At the core of this book came this single theme: That it is ok to not to be ok.

With chapter titles like: “Cake it Til You Make it” this book touched on Mental Health in way that made the subject manageable and relatable to the readers.

Whenever I have come across mental health texts the subject can often be heavy and dry.

I saw myself in these cartoons and that made the book fly by.

Sometimes the best way to relate to heavy topics is by tackling it in a simply way.

This is a graphic novel that is going to sit with me for a long time.

Thank you Andrew McMeel Publishing for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I thought that this was a fabulous book!

I downloaded a review copy the day I received it and read it that evening.

The book was just what I needed, I will be honest, I do suffer from anxiety and there was quite a lot in the book that I could relate too – I have ups and downs and this was a book that makes you remember that it is not just you feeling like that and you really aren’t alone. Although it certainly can feel like that at times.

This is definitely a book I am going to be recommending and I loved the idea that you could read one or two of the pages a day as well and dip in and out of it, there was plenty in the book to make me smile too.

It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!

A beautifully illustrated book that is great for all ages. A great collection of relevant, relatable and comedic poems and comics. ‘Worry Lines’ dives into the inner thoughts of a struggling neurodivergent anxious person.

I’ve never related to a book on so many levels nor did I realise I needed this book in my life. ‘Worry Lines’ depicts a creative spiel on mental health and how to cope with the emotions caused by them. The book shows that it is normal and human to feel bad. ‘Worry Lines’ is a way to feel accepted and appreciated through the life of figuring things out.

I absolutely love this book. I love the simple, cute illustrations and its encouragement! This is a great book to get if you need a boost, or if you’d like to gift a good friend with a bit of sunshine to get through tough days. I really connected with the worries and illustrations, and felt less alone and more capable of overcoming them after. I would love to buy a copy of this to keep on my bookshelf as a positive reminder I am going to be okay anytime I need one.

Thank you for the EArc NetGalley and Andrews McMeel. I adored this book so much I wish I could give it to everyone. The illustrations are simple but gave me all the feels, mostly the feeling of being understood. I’d never heard of worry lines before this but you’ve gained a loyal follower, especially for days when I just need that little pick me up. Thanks for the great book!

We don't spend enough time normalizing our feelings. Feeling bad is normal, feeling ick is normal, feeling in love is normal. This cute little book showed acceptance for good and bad days and all the feelings that go with them, even when your feelings don't match your situation. This is a comforting book, but it also made me giggle a few times. The drawings are simple but perfect for the messages.
Thanks so much to NetGalley for letting me preview this

A cute illustrated book that’s perfect for hard times. Everyone has felt down at some point in their lives, and has had difficulty explaining their thoughts and feelings to others. This book perfectly captures those feelings through simple illustrations and little snippets of an understanding voice.

This is about loneliness and friendship, sadness and contentment, overthinking and anxiety, self-esteem and perception, coping, mental health, neurodivergence, and every feeling a person goes through in life. It’s about doing our best and taking life one day at a time. I think this graphic novel is extremely well done and does exactly what it intends in terms of filling the gap of emptiness that comes with living. I was blown away by how accurately some of the illustrations depicted the more complex feelings. This is exceptionally heartwarming and I would highly recommend this book to everyone. We’re all doing really well.

This book would make a perfect gift for anyone going through a hard time who could use a smile and a reminder that we're all in this together.
