The Worry Lines author remains unknown, but readers will know that they are kind, they are anxious, and they love potatoes. While the drawings are simple, there is a striking beauty to them that will evoke inspiration, comfort, and humor in readers.
Worry Lines: You're Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances makes a perfect gift, either to a loved one or to yourself, to stand as a reminder to find beauty in the world, to be kind to oneself, and to know one is not alone in this chaotic and anxiety-inducing world.
This was such a lovely little read. One page would make me laugh, the next would make me think, the next would make me feel better, and each one was relatable in some way. I really enjoyed this and will happily be recommending it to friends. Overall I felt quite hopeful at the end of this and it was the kind of warm hug of a read I needed.
I was not familiar with the author's previous work before picking up this book, but I'm really glad I did! The art and colouring is simple and allows the messages to speak for themselves, which makes the content very relatable. Covering a variety of mental health topics, the words are both validating and inspiring. It's one of those books that you might want to keep on a bookshelf, and then take out and read every once in awhile, when you need a hug or some extra motivation to keep on keeping on. I highly recommend this, and will continue to follow the author's work.
Thank you to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Witty, honest, lovely & funny.
A sweet, heartfelt surprisingly emotive book of comics in simple lines and primary colours, from one of my favourite internet comics; Worry Lines. I follow them on Instagram and always enjoy their posts. It's wonderful to have a collection of these adorable and apropos, uplifting comics to hold and share, and this would make a terrific gift.
Thank you to NetGalley, Authors and Publishers for access to an Advanced Reader's Copy. All opinions are my own.
Lovely and emotional and cheerful and sad and introspective and wonderful and cute! Just like life, this book is happy and sad and everything in between and it made me laugh and tear up and think about myself and the world around me. Love the simple artwork!
I enjoyed reading this book so much. The art is pretty simple, but you can still tell what the character is feeling, which are things everyone goes through. This book delivers a really important message that it's okay if you're not perfect. With all things considered, you're doing the best you can and that's what is important. It's a great book that makes you sit and ponder for a little bit after reading it.
I am so glad I requested this book, I didn’t know the artist at all and this was a wonderful discovery. This is a collection of vignettes that vary between funny, encouraging, self-loving and self-deprecating, but always with a kind and heartwarming tone. It’s entirely relatable for anyone who has ever felt anxious or worried, it’s easy to see oneself in those drawings.
Reading this book felt like drinking hot cocoa on a cold day and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
This curated selection of the most beloved illustrations from the wildly popular Worry Lines Instagram account is the perfect gift for a friend, family member, or anyone who may need a reminder that it’s OK not to be perfect.
I'm not familar with this Instagram comic but I love these things so I had to read it. It is such a sweet litte collection of cartoons that remind you that not only is it normal to not feel normal, its ok. And how ever you work through it you're not alone and you are doing great.
The cartoons and the sentiment made me smile. Being someone who has depression and anxiety it is so easy to think you are the only one n the history of the world to ever feel this way, and this just show how common it is, and no matter who you are, you can be there too.
I like that it does not preach to you or tell you to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and get over it. Worry lines acknowledges that your feeling are real and valid and gives you a nice warm hug.

WORRY LINES: You’re doing really well given the circumstances is a new curated collection of illustrations from the instagram account of the same name, Worry Lines. This book is an uplifting emotional support and that friend who will nod along with you at how we all struggle through tough days. The illustrations are typically simple line drawings with short captions that offer an affirmation of what it takes for many of us just to make it through the day. Themes include distraction, food, overthinking, loneliness, relationships, procrastination, feeling awkward, stressed, overworked. There are parts that are funny, but more importantly, this book features compassion, especially that most hard to find compassion – being good to yourself. This is the kind of book you’ll read through once and then pick up again and again for a quick reminder to take it easy on yourself, and that every little thing is going to be alright. It comes out on May 6, 2024, and you might want to pick up several copies – one for yourself, and others to give as gifts to your friends.
Worry Lines is the perfect book to read if you are feeling down, anxious, or stressed out. As someone with anxiety, I felt so seen and understood throughout the numerous comics and laughed so hard at the Who Left Me in Charge of Me section. I can definitely see myself rereading this book on my bad days, and I can't wait to purchase copies for my friends.

For anyone who has had a bad day or struggles or just is trying to live life…this is for you! The cartoon illustrations convey many emotions and situations to which so many will relate.
This is definitely a book that I will want to share with others in my life. It adds a bit of humor and poignancy to our human condition.
Many thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for this title. All opinions are my own.
Absolutely loved this encouraging collection of short comics that show the ups and downs of life.
These comics will give you hope, make you laugh, and let you know that you're not that different from everyone else.
What a lovely book! Prior to requesting this, I wasn't familiar with the author's drawings or content. I felt like with every page I turned, I was more connected and felt like every message hit me just right. I related to and felt seen by so many of the images and words. I have a whole folder of screenshots I took that I plan to pull up and re-visit when I need a little smile or to remind myself that what I am feeling is normal. One of my favorites is when the character slowly climbed the giant mug full of coffee in order to get in. Some days it feels just like that. Reading this delightful little book was like slipping on some fuzzy socks with your favorite hoodie and drinking a favorite warm beverage. I really felt like so much of this hit home and 100% plan to purchase this in physical book format to keep on my coffee table at home. What a joyful comforting delight of a book. I recommend this sweet anthology for anyone who sometimes needs to be reminded that yes, you are doing great given the circumstances!
Thank you tremendously to Netgalley and the publisher for putting this gem in my hands. I plan to dog-ear and create a well-loved version of this book once I get my hands on a physical copy!
This book was heartwarming, comforting, and uplifting. The illustrations were adorable, but I was surprised how poignant the messages in this book were. It addresses serious issues - anxiety, depression, grief - in a relatable, powerful way. I felt “seen” by this book and am looking forward to purchasing copies for friends and family. I really loved this book.
This graphic novel is a perfect cozy read for the world we live in today. It takes a look at life struggles and mental health in an amusing way that is both relatable and comforting.
Thank you Worry Lines for the eARC!
As a lover of graphic novels and a haver of anxiety and depression I went into this book seeking comfort, validation and humor. And I got all three in spades.
You're Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances manages to inject lightness and air into what can be such a suffocating experience without downplaying the severity of the lived experience. As someone who has been really struggling I truly felt like maybe I am doing okay given my current circumstances.
As I laid in bed reading this I laughed, I teared up, but most of all I felt seen. I'll be recommending this to everyone.
The second Worry Lines Book I read and I love it just the same. A wonderful compilation of minimalistic Comics about mental health and everyday observations and thought processes.
Thought provoking as well as comforting. Drawn in their recognizable style in black lines on white ground accentuated with bold colours here and there.
i loved this little graphic book regarding mental health. i related to a lot of the pages. it made me feel like my anxious feelings are valid and that it is okay to have these feelings. makes you feel like you’re not alone and human. i also liked the spurts of comedy within some pages to lighten the book with some laughter. highly recommend checking this one out!
This is my new favorite book regarding mental health. Every page felt like I was being watched and someone put all of my fears and worries and emotions into this book and spelled them out perfectly. It’s amazing- because it also assured me that I’ll be okay. And it’s okay when I’m not. It also assured me that trying to be normal? Is overrated. And I’m perfect just the way that I am. That felt so validating. It was such an accurate and powerful showing of mental illness and feelings of helplessness or unhappiness. The graphics were simple, effective, cute, and consistent throughout in a way that was incredibly pleasing to view. It was witty and had great comedic breaks that felt necessary to lighten the books energy but also accurate to the way life is and how many of us cope with mental health.
It made me smile. It made me laugh. It felt like a hug. This book made me feel human. Like a human who isn’t alone.
I follow this instagram account, and I save nearly every post. Reading this book felt the same way. Each page I wanted to hold onto forever, and I wanted to carry with me as a reminder everywhere I go. I can’t recommend this one enough.
"Worry Lines" takes a new approach to mental health and the stigma that surrounds it. Through the use of short, colorful comics, the author, also named Worry Lines, attempts to simplify the activity of reading about mental health and make it more approachable. Not only do the comics make the subject more enjoyable to consider, but their conciseness also allows for readers to consume as much, or as little, of the book as they wish to in one sitting, making it perfect for those times when a little pick me up is required!
Great for reading during one sitting, or a few pages at a time. Composed of instagram/scrolling-friendly pages of mildly affirming and inspirational messages, this book is a solid gift to a friend, coworker, or oneself.
This book is WONDERFUL. I bet most everyone will find some comfort and wisdom in here. Looking forward to purchasing Worry Lines for friends. Absolutely worth the read. This is a lovely addition to any bedside table. Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy.

I am so glad I requested this book! The cover is just too cute and I could not resist to request for this!
This book is funny and relatable! It’s like every time I flip to a new page it makes me laugh. I love how the drawings are simple yet colourful. The words are short but funny and relatable. Even the drawings alone are relatable! This book is like a warm blanket in winter. I’ve not read any book like this that’s why I totally love it. I would love to have a physical copy of this and every time life feels unbearable and confusing, I will just open this book and read it again and again. It would definitely elevate my mood.
Thank you to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this ARC.
This book is something that would be great to have, just to look through on a day when I can use a pick-me-up or a reason to smile. The images are simple yet inviting, with bold colors and generic people that I think anyone could relate to. I love how these simple images can give such a great visible portrayal of emotions and feelings. I saw myself in so many pages, conveying things that I often find hard to even describe with words. Through the book, the collection looks at a variety of struggles (anxiety, depression, procrastination, lack of focus, etc) we face in day-to-day life and puts a positive spin on them, making you feel like it's okay to not always be okay. I have a feeling I'll be ordering a physical copy of this book when it releases.
Thank you Netgally and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC of the book.
I have been in a reading rut for some time now. Stress from my job is slowly making my self-talk rather negative and I have very little motivation left in me.
Nevertheless, Worry Lines has created a simple, yet reassuring book that I checked everyday. It has taken me some time to get through it all, but the little vignettes were amazing, allowing me to reflect, reassess and try to change my daily routines and experiences.
I simply loved it!
I was given the first book by Worry Lines as a gift, so to see that there is another book coming is super exciting. I love the realness of the comics, but it also adds the humor element to it. If you're not laughing, you're crying, so this book is great.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
This book was like a hug. Super cute and wholesome. Exactly what you need when you’re not feeling yourself or need a little bit of support. Will be recommending to everyone.
I've been following Worry Lines on Instagram for a few years now, and the comics are always so relatable. I really enjoyed this collection of comics. It's a great introduction to anyone that is new to Worry Lines, and is a good selection of the author's work for anyone that is already familiar. I liked how the book was set up, as well. Readers that enjoy Sarah's Scribbles and Introvert Doodles will likely enjoy Worry Lines.
This book felt like a hug, it was so relatable omg! I now know I'm not alone haha we think we're alone fighting our demons, that only we have problems, but at the end of the day we're all struggling with different things, and we can all be there to help each other. The illustrations are really cute btw! Rating: 5/5 stars.
I've long been a fan of the Worry Lines account on instagram, and getting it all together in one book, segmented by feeling, was such a treat. It's such simple but nuanced art, that can evoke complex feelings and reactions. I really enjoyed the themes throughout the book and it made me think. I definitely shared several pages with my friends through text, just because it was so relatable to us or situations we had been in or friendships. If you've been a fan of the Worry Lines comics, this won't disappoint; and if you're not yet a fan, you really should be! Pick up this book and you'll quickly become one.
A wise, whimsical, and heartfelt collection of art. Each page is instantly relatable and full of laughs and reassurance that we are all, in fact, doing really well given the circumstances. A real delight!
This was such a delightful and much needed pep talk for me right now. I love the simple drawings and heartfelt messages. Would love to see this artist do a daily calendar or cards similar to what you’d see in a tarot or oracle deck.
I absolutely loved this? It was hilarious, cathartic and just what my heart and mind needed. I had to follow the IG page so ai could get a daily dose.
As a 90's baby that grew up with both an evolving internet meme world culture and the printed funny pages (yeah, those papers that were dropped at your house every morning ) this book hit home.
I enjoy light reads like this that feel more like meme scrolling than really "reading". The comics are relatable and make you think at some points and laugh at others. Overall, an excellent read. Will definitely be getting a print version of this for the library.
This book was an easily digestible, fun way to process big feelings. I found page after page that made me want to grab a copy of this book for MANY of my friends and family. From children to adults, this book was the cheerleader and validator that I didn't even know I needed.
i love this so much. inspirational quotes but make it relatable & sarcastic. It's like the creators put their intrusive thoughts into this haha. the illustrations are simple but perfect for this.
This was traumatizingly good for my little millennial heart. I would turn the page, read the caption and think "Yes, this is me" or "Yes, this is my friend So-and-so" or "Yes, this is my coworker" for every. single. page. Loved it.
This was so much fun, and a super quick read. Many of these comics were relatable, and many made me feel better or I had to show to my spouse.
Worry Lines is a collection of drawings from the Worry Lines Instagram account. Almost every single one resonated and I frequently found myself wanting to share them with others. Readers will likely want to copy a page and hang it in the office, or send an image to a friend. After reading this book I also went and followed the Worry Lines Instagram account, which is probably the goal of the book. :)

I struggle to review books like this. I feel like people that need this book right now, will benefit from it. But it won't be for everyone. It's not a book you should read in one sitting. It is a book you pick up when you are feeling not that great.
I've been following Worry Lines for a while now and their comics have always resonated with me. Do I recommend it? Yes. Because we all struggle sometimes and this book is just a reminder that you are not alone in feeling like crap.
Review copy provided by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Such a fun, cute, uplifting book. I love the graphic style and the mixture of funny and serious topics throughout the book.
Gonna grab this in physical form to keep on my shelf for days that I'm feeling low. Many pages hit me right in the feels - absolutely loved it!
Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the eARC!
Oh my gosh I freaking love this!
The art is funny, but still incredibly relatable with the struggles of being human.
I’m a particular fan of the section on overthinking.
You’ll basically want to gift this as encouragement for anyone going through a struggle and share the art cause people will get it.
Worry Lines is an adorable, heartfelt book that truly made me feel seen and less alone. This book is a very sweet read for anyone who struggles with insecurity, depression, and/or anxiety.
Each page features a relatable comic drawing, some a little more sad and some a little more funny, and some a little more encouraging.
I plan on purchasing this book for myself to read when I need a pick-me-up, for my friends for Christmas, and insisting my therapist get a copy for her office!
You're Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances is an uplifting book made entirely of kindhearted drawings and short uplifting captions. Its primary focus is on nurturing a positive self-perception and supporting mental well-being. The book achieves this by adopting a simple, friend-to-friend conversational style that warmly acknowledges your emotions without delving into an overly analytical approach popular in today's world. This heartwarming collection embraces imperfections and guides you through life's hurdles with sincerity and warmth, offering comfort like a reassuring chat with an old friend.
I have no idea where this comic originated. I loved it. It's so relatable. I probably did a million screenshots 😂. The artstile is cute and simplistic and I certainly enjoyed it.
It's a commentary on more or less universal situations of adult life. Like failing deadlines for instance my strong suit. 💀
It's probably the cutest and the funniest self-help book I read. (It isn't saying much because I don't read that many self-help books)
I had never heard of worry lines. Worry lines are brief, minimalist cartoons, sometimes just a few lines, which address topics such as anxiety, self esteem, and just, well, yeah, just being in the world day to day. The focus of the book is that you are doing well, or at least the best you can, so just hang in there and, hey, try learning to enjoy life. There is a full plate of life out there, don't waste your time. And you are doing just fine. You are a human being. Your feelings and concerns are not a defect of the operating system.
This is such a sweet book, full of bright, colorful drawings and words of encouragement and sentiments a loving friend would share. You're Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances is like a book full of hugs.
Having "one of those days" that's stretched into weeks? There's a drawing here for you. Feeling (fill in the blank)? There's a drawing here that will both acknowledge how you're feeling and remind you that you're okay.
In a world full of self-help books that offer pop psychology but no real balm for the pain one may be feeling... this book is different. There are no lengthy sections analyzing your actions (or lack of action). Just kindhearted drawings by someone who understands the human experience and translates it beautifully into sweet, simple drawings.
Recommended for everyone because we all can use encouragement at one time or another.
Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of Worry Lines: You're Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances.
Miigweetch NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
"Worry Lines" is a heartwarming compilation that seamlessly translates the essence of the beloved Worry Lines Instagram account into a delightful book. The anonymous artist's ability to capture the intricacies of human emotions, from anxiety to love, is nothing short of remarkable. Each page feels like a reassuring pat on the back, and the whimsical tributes to the power of potatoes add a delightful touch. This book is not just a collection of illustrations; it's a genuine reminder that imperfection is a shared human experience, making it a thoughtful and uplifting gift for anyone navigating life's challenges.
I recommend this book to any reader in need of some gentleness or a reminder that it’s going to be ok.
4.5 out of five stars from me! An almost perfect collection of comics!
I absolutely loved this!!!!
It's so colorful and I feel like a kid reading this. It made me smile and I felt seen.
I think this would be amazing present to someone who maybe doesn’t feel amazing at the moment and you would put the biggest smile on their face with this book, for sure.
Highly recommend :)

This book is like a long hug from the author. I've known their work from Instagram and always perceived it as the perfect way to start my day. These illustrations are like an encouragement and good word from a person who wishes you all the best and understands that emotions and life in general is hard. Yes, it is simplistic at times, but also heartwarming and really relatable. I would say this collection would be a perfect gift to cheer someone up.

Worry Lines by Worry Lines. Awesome, uplifting with adorable drawings and spot on take on people's worries (mine anyway). Definately will be wanting a print copy of the book for my keeper bookshelf.
Thank you to the authors, Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
This is honestly perfection in a book!
The drawings, the sentiment... I found myself giggling and feeling seen with every single page turn. Normally, with these kinds of books, I only like a handful of the pages but I resonated with almost every single cartoon. The author has such a great way of distilling the human experience to a cute little comic that feels relatable and comforting.
This would be a great gift and a helpful reminder when the days feel a little extra heavy.
Reading this was such a wonderful experience. I couldn't help myself and ended up reading the entire book in one sitting! I felt so comforted and understood. The messages in the book made me feel less alone in my struggles.
I had seen some of the artist's work online (without knowing much about the artist), and I'm so glad I came across this book.
I loved that it was divided into chapters/categories.
I would recommend it for anyone who likes memes or is interested in mental health and self-care.
I had an amazing time reading it, I even wish it was longer! But realistically, it does satisfy you.
