Quick and Easy Low Cholesterol Cookbook is a unique cookbook with low-cholesterol recipes. It's a guide to a unique and creative way to lower your cholesterol.
Normal person cooking...
This book is not written by a doctor or dietician. He's regular person cooking to lower his cholesterol. A quick crash course in good and bad fats. It does offer up some easy to make recipes with cholesterol in mind.
This book gave some lovely inspiration to cutting Cholesterol but still produced meals that were enjoyable. The layout was easy to read and with it being split into mealtimes offered healthy options for all meals, not just the main one.
Practical, informative and quick this book is the perfect solution for those mid-week meals that you are always in a rush to make but then end up reaching for the less healthy options. A great kitchen resource.
You are what you eat and you eat what you see.
Photos would have tempted me to try some interesting sounding recipes.
It's a pass for me.
Decent cookbook. Pretty easy to follow. I would recommend. I will be purchasing a physical copy for my friends and family to borrow.

Very informative. I will be using this in the future to help with my medical issues. will recommend to others.
A great collection of low cholesterol items. A helpful tool for those who need this special diet and new ideas for meals in their lives.
Starting right out the gate with the negative to get it out of the way- there’s no pictures. That can make a break a cookbook and unfortunately I think people will over look this well written, helpful book because of this.
The recipes are well written and wonderfully organized. I love there is a whole chapter on vegetable main dishes. Not just sides or same old same old. The recipes are unique without a lot of hard to find ingredients.
If the pictures were included this may be a 4+ star book for me.
This is the second cookbook of the author that I review and I must say I am impressed the recipes do not repeat as much - kudos for that. The lack of pictures still makes this book hard to enjoy.
Some of the recipes are interesting, but without anything to capture your attention it's hard to get into it.
I appreciate that the author states he is not giving medical advice and just sharing recipes that worked for him and his family.
I will try some stews and soups from this book and I might even attempt the apple breakfast cookies too.
This is a very simple cookbook. The recipes look easy to prepare and there is some ethnic variety (e.g., Caribbean Fish Stew). But many of the recipes are pretty standard ones you'd find in any American cookbook. While it is labeled as low-cholesterol, the ingredients required are easy to source. It would make a good gift for someone just starting a household or perhaps someone who's just learned they've got to reduce their cholesterol levels. But I wouldn't buy it myself for one big reason: there are no photos. For me, a big part of food is what it looks like. Without seeing the end result of the recipe, I'm not very inspired to make it.
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing an advance review copy of this cookbook. My opinions are my own.
QUICK AND EASY LOW CHOLESTEROL COOKBOOK by Dick Logue is scheduled for May 2024 publication and is subtitled "Flavorful Heart-Healthy Dishes Your Whole Family Will Love." The emphasis here is more on health and Logue does provide nutritional information. One fun recipe (with zero cholesterol) that I would like to try is called Breakfast Cookies – made with mashed banana, applesauce, quick cooking oats, dried cranberries, milk, pecans, and spices. Sounds yummy, right? I am also looking forward to cooking some Vegetable Mains like Grilled Stuffed Portobellos or his Tomato and Basil Quiche. Logue has edited several other cookbooks with a heart healthy or low sodium emphasis, but sadly, this new title has very few photographs and that seems a real detriment in terms of making it enjoyable to cook in a healthier way. True to the title's promise, these recipes are often geared to beginners with relatively few ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions.
3.5 stars ... could be 4 if it had more photographs
As someone who has high cholesterol this book was great in helping to find new and inspirational recipes. A good selection and easy to follow instructions.
This is a wonderful cookbook that is excellently illustrated. It has great appeal for those of us who like to make many items from scratch. There are a lot of sauces and dressings that will save me from buying jars of overprocessed items. Informative information about the need to lower cholesterol. I will use this often and will consider it a valued part of my recipe collection.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this sneak peek. I needed to expand my low cholesterol recipes options and I have already discovered a few favorites here.
Amazing looking recipes, looking forward to trying them.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

This fantastic book is brimming with essential information, making it an ideal resource for anyone seeking to improve their eating habits.
I appreciate its straightforward and simple approach, and I’m eagerly anticipating the opportunity to try out some of these delightful recipes for myself!
Navigating through the pages of the "Quick and Easy Low Cholesterol Cookbook for Beginners" by Dick Logue, I am struck by the book's commendable layout, which is not only great but also easy to follow, making it accessible for both novice and seasoned cooks. However, the absence of visuals for the featured dishes leaves a slight void in an otherwise well-structured book.
One notable feature is the inclusion of serving sizes for each recipe, positioning this cookbook as an excellent choice for families seeking balanced and nutritious meals. The author's dedication to health-conscious cooking is evident in the detailed nutritional information provided, encompassing carbs, fat, calories, and sodium. This comprehensive data simplifies meal planning and proves invaluable for those actively managing their cholesterol levels.
A unique and personal touch is added to the cookbook through the author's backstory, providing readers with insight into the inspiration behind the recipes. The information about cholesterol is presented for ease of understanding, and the inclusion of details on calculating cholesterol in food adds an educational dimension to the book.
The book's segmentation into sections, offering various meals that ensure culinary variety, is a notable strength. The cookbook caters to different tastes, from condiments to vegetarian options. Including a low-fat baking section further expands its versatility, showcasing tempting recipes that beckon experimentation.
In addition to the recipes, the book provides practical tips to assist readers in staying on a heart-healthy track. The clear and readable layout makes it an ideal resource for beginners and advanced cooks seeking a heart-healthy lifestyle. The nutritional information accompanying each recipe proves to be a valuable resource for individuals aiming to manage their weight and monitor their caloric, fat, sodium, and cholesterol intake.
Overall, the "Quick and Easy Low Cholesterol Cookbook for Beginners" is appreciated for its simplicity, even though the absence of accompanying pictures for the recipes is a notable drawback.
I extend my gratitude to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds and New Shoe Press for providing me with the e-book in exchange for an honest review.
The recipes in this book were fantastic! My husband is military so there are times he needs to cut weight for a weigh in, or he just wants to eat healthier in general, but finding quick, healthy, easy recipes can be difficult at times.
I’m so glad we were able to make some of the recipes in this cookbook and find new favorites to stay healthier.
The explanation of cholesterol at the start of the book, what it is and the different types was really eye opening. I think the first step in trying to lower cholesterol is being able to understand it.
I struggled a little with this title, as I did the other book in the same series, just because you need to adjust your diet for whatever health reasons, doesn't mean you need to take the joy out of food. The recipes read well, are short and easy to follow, although I don't find it necessary to point out 'reduced-fat' in the title of some of them. By the very nature of this cookbook, there's low-fat ingredients, no need to keep pointing out what you're missing.
Again, this book is missing pictures. Personally I don't think you can have a cookbook worth anything without photos.
I'm often times on the lookout for healthy dinner ideas, especially when they're quick and easy. I'm really looking forward to trying these recipes. I'm bad about cooking the same things over and over again, and hopefully these will break the cycle of boring dinners. There are tons of dessert recipes for a sweet tooth like me - I cannot wait to make the crumb-topped cherry cobbler.
I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this cookbook in exchange for an honest review.
