A great book filled with the "basics" that is perfect for anyone looking to adjust their eating habits. I found this really straightforward and simple and I can't wait to try and cook some of these recipes for myself.
This book was helpful with a number of recipes that helped us to kick start our meal plan for low cholesterol. Really appreciated how easy it was to follow. Wish there had been a few more pictures but that might just be the pre release version
This wasn't my favorite cooking book but there are some good recipes. The book is broken down into color-coded sections but there aren't any photos which disappoints me. I also wish the instructions had been in bullets instead of paragraphs.
This cookbook is awesome! It's so easy to follow and has recipes that are perfect for a low-cholesterol diet. I've already bookmarked several recipes to try out. Love how it offers plenty of healthy options which is great!
This book seems to fit the title very well - no hard to find ingredients or lengthy instructions. All pretty simple. I think if you are looking for anything beyond the basics you may be disappointed but for weekly night dinners that fit my health goals i found it successful.
Again, the book is as easy to follow as his recipes, especially for conversion to European measurements, the only problem in my opinion is that photos are missing.
Anche in questo caso il libro é facile da seguire come le sue ricette, soprattutto per la conversione nelle misure europee, l'unico problema secondo me, é che mancano le foto.
I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
I’ve very recently been diagnosed with high cholesterol and so am in the process of overhauling my diet. The introduction to this book is the most helpful thing I’ve read on the subject so far - clear and concise. I haven’t cooked anything from it yet - I must say the lack of photos makes it a little uninspiring - but there’s certainly a few I’d like to try.
First up, I don't think I've come across a modern cookbook without pictures before - this was disappointing because I am swayed by pictures of food though I appreciate it may not matter to other readers. I was also surprised as how few recipes were vegetarian friendly. And though there is a section on vegetarian mains, the mains felt unimaginative. Who has even been full up on stuffed Portobello mushrooms or wraps filled with just courgette and onion as a main?
There were a lot of red meat recipes which I found unusual for a low cholesterol cookbook but I guess this may appeal to those who want to continue to eat saturated fats.
Another great cookbook for people who want to eat healthy and have a bit of fun cooking. Easy recipes, great ingredients, helpful information and tasty to boot.
This is quite helpful to those who want to lower their cholesterol and become healthier without taking medication. It is helpful, useful and makes being and eating healthy fun.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
This cookbook gives valuable information about cholesterol in foods at the beginning which would be nice for people who have just been diagnosed with high cholesterol. I have personally had high cholesterol since the age of 20 (hereditary) but my husband just recently found out his cholesterol was high.
None of these are particularly difficult recipes. They do require an extensive spice cabinet, but most good recipies do.
Definitely could have used some photos in the ARC.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Like the recipes! Trying one in the kitchen right now. Will see how this goes. Only concern is that sometimes it's difficult to source some of the ingredients in this book (at least from my kitchen).
This was an easy to follow and nicely formatted cookbook with recipes geared towards a low cholesterol diet. I have book marked several recipes to try. (Breakfast Cookies!) The one things I appreciated about this cookbook was there was no ‘you can’t have’ but rather a lot of healthy options.
I really like how in-depth this cookbook gets into explaining the differences between normal cooking methods and cooking with low cholesterol. The entire beginning section was very informative and helpful for someone just learning how to manage their cholesterol.
I also really appreciated how it was split up by mealtimes, with explanations of healthy habits for each mealtime.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC, all opinions expressed are my own!
Really useful recipes but lacking imagery which would have been useful to use as a reference.
Despite this, still super useful and insightful.
