The Little People Big Dreams series are fantastic and this one is no exception.
What a fantastic child friendly version of Beyoncé’s story. If your little one reads this then they may come away with a brand new role model.
The illustrations were beautifully done, engaging and also colourful. This makes it even more interesting for your little one.
Students really liked the book. They loved that it was about a musician because they like to sing too! Most of them had heard of Beyonce before, but they all learned new information about her life. Some students felt like the book was a little long. They weren't as interested in her early life as they were about her current music.
As an elder millennial, I LOVED reading about Beyonce and sharing her with my class. I thought the illustrations were rich and vibrant; very engaging. It seemed to cover a lot of the main events of her life, while remaining focused on her. We love Queen Bey! Thanks to netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
Beyoncé is a well deserved and one of the most inspirational additions to the Little People Big Dreams series for children. The artwork is beautiful, and I especially loved the crazy in love illustration and the ones with Beyoncé singing and her roar.
This is going to be a popular addition to the series and shows her life from a quiet young girl to stages through her career, including her childhood achievements and bands to the present day and becoming a mother.
I loved how inspiring this book is to young children today and how it shows that with hard work and determination, you can achieve great things.
I love this series and this one is no exception. I have recently used these in school with my Y6 class and they have devoured the ones we have available! I also enjoy reading them with my own children.
Would highly recommend this series.
My son loved reading this with me. He said Beyoncé is so fun
The pictures and brightness support how great Beyoncé is
This is a another fantastic edition to this wonderful series for young children. Beyoncé is a household name all over the world so I enjoyed discovering more about her childhood and I loved the illustrations by Jade Orlando. I didn’t realise that she’d won so many talent competitions as a young child or that she was in girl groups before Destiny’s child. Highly recommended for younger readers.
This is a new book in the ‘Little People, Big Dreams’ series which is out in April 2024. I had read some others in the series previously with my eldest child which were focused on historical characters.
I thought the illustrations were great and complimented the story of Beyoncé. There were some aspects about her that I had been unaware of as despite her long-standing success I did not have a lot of knowledge of Beyoncé other than her hit songs. As always with the books in this condensed style it is not possible to include all things about their subjects. I am enjoying the series covering a wider range of famous people and those from contemporary times.
I would rate this book 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 stars).
Thank you to the publisher, Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Books for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Who run the world? Girls!
Who doesn't love Beyoncé? Having the opportunity to read this book in advance is such a pleasure! Thank you so much!
I knew quite a lot about her life and about her dreams, but I always learn something new, like the fact that she started singing in her mum's work place.
I loved the art work, by the way! It is always pretty, but this one is so beautiful and colourful!
I hope this series never ends and I wish I could own them all!
Thank you NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange of my honest opinion, I really appreciate it!

Beautifully written and illustrated book about a woman who broke the glass ceiling. The images with her voice are wonderful.
Little People, Big Dreams hits another book out of the park this time featuring Beyonce. What an inspiration story about a young girl who pursued her dreams to accomplish big things. The pictures were wonderful and supported the text. Great for young and older readers wanting to learn about Beyonce's start in her career.
A celebration of Queen Bey in a children's series that is appropriate and well-structured. Anyone who loves Beyonce will love introducing her to the next generation through this title. :)
I enjoyed this book about Beyoncé. I learned things about her career that I didn’t know before . This was age appropriate and would be a fun way for kids to learn more about Beyoncé. This would be especially great for children who love to perform,
I love the Little People, Big Dreams series of books and this was a great addition. The illustrations were absolutely beautiful and really enhanced the story. The story was told in such a way that it would be simple enough for children to understand but also touched on some important topics. I liked the timeline at the end which included actual photographs and was written as a summary for a slightly older audience and I loved that book recommendations were given.
Overall I love this series and thought this one was particularly interesting as someone who has grown up with Beyoncé's music.
This delightful children's book provides a captivating glimpse into the remarkable journey of Beyoncé, affectionately known as Queen Bey, from her humble beginnings to global superstardom. Through vibrant illustrations and engaging storytelling, young readers are introduced to Beyoncé's unwavering passion for singing and her relentless pursuit of her dreams. As they journey alongside her, they discover not only her extraordinary talent but also her resilience and determination in overcoming obstacles. Beyond her musical prowess, Beyoncé emerges as a multifaceted role model, inspiring children to chase their aspirations with unwavering dedication and boundless creativity. With its empowering message and vibrant depiction of Beyoncé's iconic journey, this book serves as a wonderful introduction to the indomitable spirit of one of the world's most influential figures.
Beyoncé has been singing all her life and loved to perform in front of anyone who would listen. I loved the timeline and photographs at the end, always one of my favourite parts of these books. It wasn't my favourite book in the series. The Illustrations felt a bit odd, didn't have the usual feel.
With the release of Actii right around the corner, this book will be going onto my babies shelf to explain the icon, Queen Bey! Hopefully, then they won't think mommy's awful singing and dance movies are as cringey.... a mom can dream, right?
I got this on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review!
I love this series of small biographies for kids, and this was no different! Loved how it really focuses on ALL parts of Beyonce’s life and her various big achievements and not just the ones as a solo artist!
A great say for kids to learn more about Beyonce!
This is a great childrens book that showcases the life and childhood of Beyonce and how she grew to the woman she is today. This would make a great gift book for any child.
I love the Little People, Big Dreams series which feature biographies written for young readers. The focus of this is Beyonce and I did learn a little about her life from it. I took from it she found her passion and went after it finding great success. I was happy to have read it but I’m always a little cautious about purchasing books about living celebrities for my library as their lives are not complete. And entertainers particularly can fall from public favor. But Beyonce deserves her recognition as a performer, artist, business woman and mother.
Yet another absolutely awesome addition to the LPBD Book collection - we have an extensive bookshelf of these books and it's so fab to see some more 'recent' icons being added to the list. It's easy to forget some of Beyonce's history including the fact she was in a few different bands before Destiny's Child. I enjoyed reading this with my girls! Stunning illustrations throughout.
