Tim Burton; the auteur of the weird and morbid. I grew up watching Tim Burton's films scared of a few of them, at first, but now I love them for their otherworldliness and uniqueness in the world of cinema. Finding Ian Nathan's book, I found it fascinating, showing the inner workings of Tim Burton's mind. Each chapter shows an intriguing mechanic in the making of his films as well as the hidden details from his childhood that make Tim Burton's work much more intriguing.
Overall, Tim Burton: The Iconic Filmmaker and His Work was an intriguing and inspiring read that delves deep into the mind of one of cinema's most unique filmmakers. If you love Tim Burton's work and want to see the amazing inner workings of his mind, I highly recommend Ian Nathan's book.

A must read for any tim burton fan!

As an avid reader and fan of Tim Burton's movies, it was so cool to have two of my favorite hobbies come together in this book. I absolutely loved this. This coffee table style book is broken down into ten sections focusing on many of Burton's most prominent films including (but definitely not limited to) Beetlejuice, the Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland, Big Fish, Wednesday, and more.
There are beautiful photographs throughout of behind the scenes images from many of these movies as well as additional information about how these films were made. I definitely recommend this book for any fans of Tim Burton's movies, as this is a stunning compilation of Tim Burton's continuous and growing legacy.

This book is just gorgeous. The images selected from the different works of Burton were lovely and it was so exciting to see so many behind the scenes shots. Tim Burton has such a known artistic talent, but going through his past and how that has come to be was very enjoyable. I would love to have this book as part of a collection to be able to display and share. It would be a great book for any Burton-fan!

Thank you Netgalley for the advance reader copy of Tim Burton by Ian Nathan in exchange for an honest review. Tim Burton is one of my favorites and I have been lucky growing up with Beetlejuice, Batman, Nightmare before Christmas and more. Whenever he has a new movie coming out, I get excited. It was really nice learning a bit more about him and the movies and show he made.

Being a movie watcher and loving stuff by Tim Burton it was wonderful to step into Tim’s world and know more about the man behind many films I have enjoyed.
For the fan this would be a must have book and a great coffee table one as well. Certainly the behind the scenes and also the ideas of what has been produced is well detailed in this wonderful book.

A great read for anyone who has seen any of Burton’s films. I grew up watching his movies and was always drawn to the dark allure that I knew each movie would provide. This book gives details not only to the films ( and in Wednesdays case show) but also the man behind the madness.

This was an exciting book to explore.
Consider a visual reading experience covering the highlights of Tim Burton's early life and highly prestigious directing career. There are excellent pictures included with each film covered. You will read about and see backstage photos of films like Alice in Wonderland, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sweeney Todd, and many more.
I appreciated this book's presentation of information and formatting. It is well put together and I enjoyed reading it.

It's really fun to read the stories behind Burton's works. I've always loved his style, and that it's so obvious when he's involved in a project, even when the new project is completely different from everything that came before.
His origins are funny, too, especially how Disney hired him for some projects and he created works that were brilliant but way too dark. The accompanying photos are fantastic, with several of the actors and many candid photos of Burton himself.
I highly recommend this for anyone who loves quirky art. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

I have long loved many of Tim Burton's iconic films, so requesting this book to review was a no-brainer. Tim Burton: the Iconic Filmmaker and His Work was an insightful read from start to finish. It introduced Burton from his childhood, following his career right through to the current day and the forthcoming Beetlejuice sequel. There were several pages dedicated to each of his major projects, incorporating commentary, film stills and behind-the-scenes shots. All up, this book is highly recommended for Tim Burton fans as a lovely, well-presented overview of his directing life and works. I am giving it 5 stars.
I received this book as a free eBook ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly this book was fine. I feel like this book reminded me of the "biographies" I would get at a Scholastic fair at my elementary school days. It's actually funny because I have a book on Batman two from the same fair mentioned. I didn't really learn anything more than a search on Wikipedia couldn't have given me.

Absolutely brilliant as a huge Tim Burton can this was a brilliant read and loved the cover. The details in this book are amazing I will definitely be preferring this to add to my book collection

This was a really fun book to read, although I just don’t think biographies or memoirs is something that I am the biggest fan of. I do usually read them to gain information on people that I do like because I do like Tim Burton but unfortunately I don’t think this was everything I was intending it kind of got skewed a lot onto all of his characters and less of his journey which was unfortunate, but I think it was really good and I will deafly recommend

Great read for any Tim Burton fan. It gives an inside look of behind the scenes of his popular movies.
