A sweet story of second chances both in romance and in life. Riley's come home to help her mother Beth who is laid up with a broken leg and she turns her eye to updating and marketing the family inn. Aiden who she more or less dumped is now a widower with a 9 year old precocious son named Luke. You know these two are going to circle one another but there's a hitch when there's a possible job back in the city for Riley. This is as trope-y as can be but it's livened by the people staying at the Inn and, well, Cape Cod. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Good storytelling makes for a good read.

The Christmas Inn by Pamela Kelley
This is a perfect cozy Christmas story where friends find second chances.
This novel has several sweet stories intertwined. It is so well written you will want to sit and have a glass of wine with Riley and Beth.

Riley Sanders loses her job and finds her way back home in a small Cape Cod community among friends and family. Riley’s mom, Beth, broke her leg and is grateful to have Riley home. As they enjoy the holiday season among friends and family, the small community becomes a family and they find second chances at finding happiness and love.
The characters are so relatable and likable you will want to sit with them and join the story! While reading this you can imagine the crackling fire, smiles, snowflakes lighting on your face, and enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate piled high with mini-marshmallows.
Read this one and enjoy your stay at the Christmas Inn! 4.5/5⭐️s

The Christmas Inn
By; Pamela Kelley
Publisher: St. Martin’s Press
Pub Date: 9/24/24

It’s Christmas already in the book world and this is my first of the year. Pamela’s books always remind me of a Hallmark Christmas movie! I love how some of her characters from her other books are sprinkled in this one too.
Riley has unexpectedly been laid off from her job in Manhattan. Its turns into the ideal timing when her sister calls to tell her their mom fell and broke her leg. Riley knows her sister has her hands full with toddler twins, so she heads home to the Cape to help out. There we meet the guests of the Inn her mother owns including Riley’s high school boyfriend and his 9 year old son. This was a quick read which I really enjoyed on what’s hopefully the last 90° day in Iowa.
Thanks to Pamela Kelley, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for this galley.

The Christmas Inn by Pamela M. Kelley is a wonderful holiday read.and a feel good romance book not be missed. Riley loses her job and comes back home to help her family with the inn because her mother has broken her leg and has the time to re-evaluate her job options and her current relationship which her current boyfriend. I like the female characters in this story and their stories which keep you hooked in reading this book. Riley meets up with an old boyfriend and his son and realizes that he offers her the work balance life that she has been looking for and her current boyfriend Jack does not make her a priority in their relationship. Franny is a great character and is a great storyline in this book and the town of Chatham becomes a place they all call home. I will read anything that Pamela M. Kelley writes and this was a pleasure to read. Bravo Pamela 👏📚🙋‍♀️🇨🇦❤️💐

Settle down in a comfortable chair with a warm blanket and a cup of tea to read The Christmas Inn. It’s the perfect book for a peaceful afternoon, full of characters you’ll fall in love with and a Cape Cod location you won’t want to leave.

Just before Christmas, Riley leaves New York after she’s laid off her marketing job. Her mother has broken her leg and needs help with the inn she owns so Riley is back in her hometown of Chatham. The guests at the inn are charming, especially Franny, an older woman who has also returned home and Aidan, her high school boyfriend, now a widower. Riley applies her marketing skills to bring new business to the inn and is happily settled in when the prospect of a new job in takes her back to the city and the boyfriend she left there. Now she has to decide where her future will be.

The Christmas Inn is a delightful addition to the holiday season. I loved it and have added Pamela Kelley to my list of favorite authors. 5 stars.

I love Pamela M. Kelley's books. They always make you feel warm and cozy. Stephanie Németh-Parker did a great job narrating this book and kept me entertained throughout the book. Her voice was very smooth and made me feel like I was there with the characters. The characters and story are well written and enjoyable. Riley returns home to help her mother at her bed and breakfast while she's recovering from a leg injury. Riley misses her life in Manhattan and her boyfriend at first but then starts getting into a comfortable routine. She starts meeting new friends and getting reacquainted with her old boyfriend and son. This was such a heartwarming story set in a small town that made you feel all warm and cozy while you listen to it. I didn't want to stop listening to this book. I felt like this would be a great Hallmark movie! If you want a feel good book that will put you in the holiday spirit please grab this audiobook. I would highly recommend this book. Grab a cup of cocoa and find a cozy chair to curl up in and ENJOY!!

Every year I like to read at least one Christmas themed book. The Christmas Inn has all the cozy feels of the magical Christmas season. Riley has been laid off and learns her mother broke her leg and could use extra help at the family run inn. With nothing to lose she heads to Cape Cod. Family bonds and old relationships flourish in this magical setting. Read this book for a sweet holiday story. Snowflakes, warm cookies, and romance included <3

Thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Griffin, Pamela Kelley for an early copy and a delightful read.

I really enjoyed this Hallmark type Christmas romance. Riley goes to Cape Cod in early December to help her mother run her B&B. Her old high school boyfriend, Aiden, who is now a widower, is there with his 9 year old son, staying while his house is undergoing renovations. It's all very sweet and Christmasy, and exactly the kind of book I want to read to wind down in the evening, or chill out over the weekend.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this novel.

3.5⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for an advanced copy of The Christmas Inn.

Riley lives in New York and has a job she loves, a successful lawyer boyfriend named Jack-it is everything she has dreamed of. Until she gets laid off right before Christmas. She decides to head back home to Cape Cod to help out her mom who injured her leg at the Inn she owns. There she is also reunited with her ex boyfriend Aidan and his son Luke. She starts to wonder if her life in New York is really all it’s cracked up to be.

I enjoyed this book. I loved that it took place in Cape Cod around Christmas. I also really enjoyed how descriptive the author was about the town-it made me feel like I could see it all.

I love cape cod, I love Christmas, I love cozy holiday novels. This was hallmark-esque. A big city girl comes back home to take care of her mom. Upon returning home she rekindles something with her high school boyfriend who reminds her there’s beauty in slowing down.

Riley Sanders lives in Manhattan, but all of a sudden her whole team at work was let go. Mind you this is right before Christmas. Her sister, Amy, calls to tell her that Mom has had an accident. Amy is wondering if she could come down and help Mom. She has lost her job and yes she is more than happy to go down to Cap Cod to help Mom. It is a quaint little town of Chatham. A place where everyone makes you feel at home. Riley has not been home in awhile. Plus she can help Mom with her Inn.

Christmas will take her mind off losing her job. But will search online for a job while in Chatham, the town where she grew up as a child. At the Inn, there is a lady named Franny staying there after the loss of her sister. Her sister had asked her to stay at the Inn. After her sister's passing, the attorney gives her letters her sister had written. This will make her stay longer and she becomes friends with Riley and her Mom. Also staying at the Inn is her high school boyfriend and his son, Luke, who is 9 years old. You see, Aiden is a widower now. Her Mom enjoys Riley's company as she lives alone, after being divorced a few years. Helping Mom with the work at the Inn takes her mind off Manhattan and it gets her into the Christmas spirit with family and friends.

I really enjoyed this book. I wanted to read this book because #1 Pamela M. Kelley had written it, #2 it was Christmas Time and #3 it is at Cap Cod. Never have been there, but love the descriptions Pamela writes about the area. I want to take the opportunity to thank Pamela, the publishers and Net Galley for giving me the opportunity to read this novel. So looking forward to reading more of Pamela's books, this is my 2nd one and loved them both.

📖 A feel-good novel as delightful and comforting as a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night, The Christmas Inn is bestselling author Pamela Kelley’s most heartwarming and magical book yet.

Riley Sanders didn’t plan on losing her job as a content marketing manager right before Christmas. When she calls her sister Amy to vent, she learns that their mother has broken her leg and could really use some help at the inn. Riley decides to head home to the inn, nestled along the shores of Cape Cod, in time for the Christmas rush. She is happy to help and needs something to distract her as mistletoe is hung and snowflakes begin to fall.

When she gets there, she not only finds delicious cookies and a crackling fire to lift her spirits, but also the sense of family she’s been missing all along. There’s Franny, a woman who has just lost her sister and has four unopened letters from her that she plans to use to open her up to new experiences on the Cape. And there’s Aidan, her high school sweetheart, now a widower, who is staying at the inn with his nine year-old son, Luke. What begins as a quick stay over the holidays to help her mom turns into something that means much more—a second chance at romance, a deeper sense of found family, and all the joy and wonder that comes with Christmastime on Cape Cod.

The Christmas Inn by Pamela Kelley AUDIO/Print is a charming story, just as are all of Kelly’s books. Riley Sanders had just been called into a meeting and been laid off, as had her entire department. The company was just going to use AI to create content in the future. She was having trouble getting her head around it. She responded by packing a suitcase, grabbing her cat, and taking off for the Cape. She could spend some time with her mother. Her mom had bought an inn and Riley thought she was crazy, but her mom was really happy. Since this was all happening in the weeks before Christmas, she could help out there, apply for any job she saw, and wait until the new year to get serious. That turned out to be a decent plan. She even helped her mom out with some marketing. Others in the small town saw what she was doing and requested her help, too.

Riley had a boyfriend., Jack. He was a very busy lawyer and she only saw him once a week, twice in a good week. He came up one weekend to meet her family but that didn’t really work out. It turns out that Aiden, her high school boyfriend and his young son were staying at the inn while some work was done at their house. She was happy to see an old friend and enjoyed their time together. She applied for two jobs, one at the law firm Jack worked at. She wasn’t sure about that, but went ahead anyway. Riley was a really likable woman, at a crossroads in her life. She thought she knew what she wanted, but maybe she was wrong. We were with her while she decided. It was a fun book. Not a huge plot, but entertaining, and Christmasy.

Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was the narrator and her voice was well-suited to this kind of light romance. She did an excellent job with the main characters as well as those who just flitted through. It is a toss-up which is the better way: reading or listening. Whatever you are comfortable with, just don’t miss this story.

I was invited to read The Christmas Inn by St Martin’s Press and to listen by MacMillan Audio. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #StMartinsPress #MacMillanAudio #PamelaKelley #StephanieNemethParker #TheChristmasInn

The Christmas Inn is the perfect cozy December read. I love the community and small town of Chatham. I love all the characters, both new and existing from other books. Chatham is the perfect setting, and it's so easy to picture all there is to see and do there, the cold air and snow, all the holiday activities, etc.

The only con to this book has to do with Jack and his lack of awareness in his relationships. I get it, though. Most lawyers work those same hours. Therefore, relationships suffer.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this arc!!! All thoughts and opinions are own.

This is the perfect cozy winter read. The story made me want to immediately book a trip to Cape Cod. I loved watching the developing relationships and seeing how they all fit together! Riley was definitely a favorite character! Such a heartwarming story!

The Christmas Inn by Pamela Kelley is a book about Christmas on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I always enjoy having a Christmas read. The premise of the story is good. A single woman loses her job a few weeks before Christmas. Coincidentally her mom breaks her leg. So off the daughter runs to help Mom. Mom runs an Inn on the Cape. Who happens to stay at the Inn while their house is being repaired? Yes you guessed right – high school boyfriend. Yes you can figure out the ‘happy ending’ at the beginning of the book. This is a Christmas fluff book after all.

There were several things that just irritated me hence my rating. At the beginning of the book the characters hang the ornaments on the Christmas tree and THEN put on the LIGHTS! Really? The other thing that annoyed me was the amount of wine and the endless descriptions of the wine and cheese. The only thing these people drink is wine and a lot of it. Maybe an AA meeting should be scheduled at the Inn. For me this type of fluff with so many errors and fill will never do it for me.

I would like to thank St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
