Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Explore this delightfully cozy and joyful novel of second chances at the most wonderful time of the year, from USA Today bestselling author Pamela Kelley.
I have a tendency to read several high-tension historical fiction or thrillers and then I just need a break to clear my mind. This is the book for that!
A tried and true plot, lots of heartwarming romance and friendships. A cozy read that won’t leave you on the edge of your seat, but will leave a smile on your face. I enjoyed this novel. I recommend this as your next holiday read!
Pamela Kelley is one of my auto buy authors. Thanks to #NetGalley I was given the opportunity to early read The Christmas Inn and this story did not disappoint. I loved reading about Riley and her search to find herself. She reconnects with her high school boyfriend who is now a widower with a nine year old son.
This book gave me the holiday feel goods. I highly recommend this book, especially during the holiday season when you can get a chance to kick back with a mug of hot chocolate and enjoy the story of Riley finding home again.
Five stars from me.
Another great read by Pamela Kelley. Great book to sit by the fire with. The characters are well developed and you can’t help but hope that Riley ends up back home. Her boyfriend isn’t attentive and the hometown guy has potential. It’s almost like a hallmark movie but the writing is excellent. I was engaged from the first page. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
Chatham, Massachusetts on the Cape is a very special place. Small town, slower pace, better work balance, kind neighbors. When Riley’s world in New York City came tumbling down, she went to stay with her mother for a few weeks at her Chatham Inn. While there, she helped rediscover who she really was and her life changed forever.
A great fun read.
📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 “Well, cheers to a happier holiday season than usual.” Sometimes the glass is half full, sometimes the glass is half empty, and sometimes it just is what it is. This Christmas season is not looking so bright for Riley, who is returning to Chatham to help her mother run the inn after being laid off from her job. But perhaps Christmas magic can change Riley’s fortune. Pamela Kelley once again combines the charm of Cape Cod with realistically relatable characters for an amazing book with the right amount of Christmas magic sprinkled throughout. The Christmas Inn is the perfect holiday book to kickstart the holiday spirit.

If you like sweet and wholesome holiday reads then this is for you! Just like a Christmas present, Riley’s job, love life and family matters gets wrapped like a boy. A dependable holiday read.
If you want a feel good romance, Pamela Kelley has it! Her books are so descriptive that you can picture and almost taste what she’s talking about. This was no exception and I loved it!
Loved this book by an author I enjoy a lot. My only critique is not being a wine drinker, the constant reference to names and types of wine was lost on me. Perhaps if it was about a winery or wine region. But that's just a personal opinion, and in no way diminished the quality and enjoyment of the book.
4 stars
I really enjoyed this book. Very cozy and full of well written characters. Even though I read in July I was sucked into a world full of the magic of Christmas and love of all kinds. I did find the beginning a bit slow, and at the beginning found the transitions between characters a tad jarring, however once the storylines began to intermingle it balanced out for me! Greatly enjoyable and a nice easy cozy read for the winter season.
A wonderfully heart warming Christmas story about the importance of family and discovering what is important in your life. Love the setting of Chatham Cape Cod. Reinforces the interest in visiting the Cape at the holiday.
Such a charming Christmas story! There are three different generations of women in this book. Two are second chance romances. Each woman has a slow transformation of what they want in their futures. Each one is on a different path of self discovery. I loved how the characters interacted with each other. This is a wonderful tale of new romances and new friendships. This was such an uplifting book all with the backdrop of Cape Cod and Christmas. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
My Thoughts
What is better than spending time with family and friends for the holidays?
Newly unemployed Riley Sanders finds out firsthand when she comes home to help her mother Beth and in doing so finds herself able to realize Chatham is still the home of her heart.
When you read this delightful Christmas season tale the mixed themes of second chances and new beginnings will shine through over and over before the end of this book.
Not only Riley herself but her mother Beth and their guest Franny have their storyline to make this a fully fleshed out romance that showcases all the best during the holiday season.
A solid holiday season read with some ups and downs that gave its characters a bit more realism and a lot of time spent enjoying good food with good people that readers could relate to easily.

Pamela Kelley's The Christmas Inn is a heartwarming story that perfectly captures the magic of the holiday season. This novel is a delightful escape into a world filled with second chances and festive cheer. Riley Sanders' unexpected job loss leads her back to her family’s inn, where she finds herself immersed in the spirit of Christmas and the warmth of family and friends. The writing beautifully portrays the coziness of the inn, from the crackling fires to the smell of freshly baked cookies. This festive and feel good novel is also testament to love, family, and the possibility of new beginnings.
Riley has lost her job and is asked to head home to help her mom who has broken her leg and runs an inn. Predictable story, set in Chatham, Hallmark-y. An easy, enjoyable read with one exception. Here and there, things are repeated--as in when her mom is talking about her old high school boyfriend and his son who are staying at the inn. You read about his wife's passing, how sad they are. Literally, the next section repeats. And again. We get it, 3 years ago, she passed. They are sad. It's Christmas. Of course, there are more characters who add to the mix, Riley's jerk of a current boyfriend is dumped, and all is well that ends well. It's a typical "feel good, holiday book", good as a filler, holiday "get you in the holiday spirit". Thanks to NetGalley & Ms Kelley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book!! The characters are amazing. It felt so Christmas cozy and I wanted to spend more time with all of them! Granny was my absolute favorite and reading her sisters letters were such a joy!

There, Riley finds more than just a distraction; she reconnects with her high school sweetheart, Aidan, and discovers a deeper sense of family and community. The novel beautifully explores themes of second chances, family, and the magic of Christmas. Riley's journey is one of rediscovery and healing, as she reconnects with her past and finds new purpose in helping her mother and the inn's guests. The story also delves into the importance of community and the joy that comes from helping others.
Kelley's writing is engaging and comforting, much like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter's night. Her descriptions of the inn and the holiday festivities create a vivid and inviting atmosphere that draws readers in.
Another terrific book from Pamela Kelley her characters become friends from page one this will make a wonderful new series in a long line of great books

Whenever I see a Pamela Kelley book I immediately drop whatever else I'm reading and settle in for a delicious vacation. The Christmas Inn was such an amazing book I never wanted to end. The story was set on my favorite place on earth, Cape Cod. The characters were so down to earth and likeable. As always Kelley's attention to detail leaves the reader feeling as though they are part of the story. It was truly Christmas in July.
Riley loses her job in Manhattan and goes home to Chatham to help her injured mother run her Inn. Once there Riley settles into a routine, makes friends and runs into her widowed old love and his son. Though she has a steady boyfriend, Jack in Manhattan, she finds her feelings for her old love reigniting. As her time on the Cape comes to an end, she is more confused than ever about her future.
I truly enjoyed this book and was torn between reading non-stop or slowly savoring it. Shocker, non-stop won out.
I can not wait for Pamela's next book. I know whatever I'm doing the book will take priority.
