I enjoyed reading this, but I hard time understanding somethings in the story. I was immediately aware of the stagnate state of her relationships in the city. The ending was practically written before the first chapter. It was a pleasant. but predictable. There were also too many descriptions of cheese and wine. It got really boring after the first chapter to hear about cheese and wine all the time. Also, there were times when they mentioned the crutches and then others while it seemed they had disappeared. By the end I was praying for Christmas to come so that the book would end.

Such a sweet and cozy Christmas book! I loved getting insight to all the characters in Chatham and the Inn setting during the Holiday was so special and magical. This is one of those books that you'll want to read sitting next to a Christmas tree drinking hot chocolate surrounded by your loved ones. This whole book just felt like a warm hug! There wasn't anything crazy that happened or shocking drama, but I think that's why it worked. It was just heartwarming when you need a light read. I definitely recommend for a feel good holiday book!

The most wonderful romantic, inspiring heartwarming story I have read in a while. It is perfect for the holiday season. Riley has just lost her job and travels home to help her mother who broke her leg so Riley will help at the inn. Her family members and the inn guests are so very colorful and realistic. Riley does have a boyfriend, Jack, who is a lawyer and works such long hours that they rarely see each other. Aidan is Riley’s first love from years ago. He is now a widower with a young son, Luke. Maybe that first love will be rekindled?!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Christmas Inn by Pamela Kelley is a festive, heartwarming contemporary fiction that I enjoyed.

This is my first book that I have read by Ms. Kelley and I really liked it.

There were several character threads that were all combined beautifully and all were associated with the locally rana nd owned bed and breakfast/inn in the picturesque Cape Cod. I liked that the author highlighted how much a hidden gem the location can be in the off season, and especially at Christmas.

Riley was the MC, but her mother, as well as Franny, Aidan and Luke, and Sean were all secondary characters that are all connected and get plenty of attention as well. Classic story lines that smoothly play out with happy and satisfying endings make this book a relaxing, heartfelt, and uplifting novel.

4/5 star

Pamela Kelley is one of my favourite authors of all time. I was so thrilled and excited to be provided an advanced copy of her latest book! Always set in a seaside town with romantic twists and turns (but not the scary/thriller kind!), family, and most important, food! The main character Riley experiences some difficult situations in her life and runs home to the Cape to help her mother run her inn. While she's there, she experiences far more than what she had probably planned for. I was rooting for Riley, her mother and Franny throughout the entire story! This is a fun, lighthearted family/romantic story about women who continue to grow and change at all stages of their lives. It keeps you drawn in and you cannot wait to see what happens next. When I begin to read a Pamela Kelley book, I generally won't put it down until I am finished. Pamela's writing is unique in that you feel like you're part of the story, and that her characters are your friends and family as well.

This was such a heartwarming and captivating read. Someone may want to go over again, as I did come across grammatical issues. That said, it didn't take away from the story itself. The characters were all well-defined and so easy to lose yourself in. I loved watching (reading) Riley come into her own light and shine. All the friends and relationships flowed so naturally. I would liken this to a Hallmark movie, but I feel this book was so much better and beyond that description. This book has it all: family, relationships, reuniting people, holiday magic, and charm. I will absolutely recommend this book to friends and to everyone in my book groups. Thank you for the privilege of reading and reviewing this book. 4.5⭐️

The Christmas Inn is a feel good holiday story about family and a second chance at love. Riley loses her job and decides to spend the holidays on Cape Cod to figure out next steps and help her mother after she broke her leg. I loved the setting of the book and all the characters. It definitely gave “Hallmark “ vibes. Very easy and quick read sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.

A delightful, fun second chance romance.
Riley Sanders and her marketing team have been let go right before Christmas. Not only is she out of a job, but finding time with her hardworking lawyer boyfriend Jack, is getting harder and harder to accomplish.
Talking with her sister Amy, Riley learns their mom has fallen and broken her leg and needs help running the inn. Riley packs up and heads home to pitch in during the hectic Christmas season on the Cape, never dreaming she is about to come face to face with her first love, Aidan Shaw, a widower, and his son Luke who are guests of the inn.
Life falls into a busy but comfortable pattern with her mom and the inn guests including Aiden and Luke. Fanny, who just lost her sister and is staying at the inn and enjoying the memories brought about by the sights and sounds of the area. Most surprising of all is the feeling of finding family for Riley. A feeling she didn’t know she had missed so badly.
The Christmas season brings people together and this book brings joy and a second chance at love you won’t want to miss. Grab your copy of The Christmas Inn and enjoy!

My thoughts on the book: Yes this book is very reminiscent of a typical Hallmark movie type theme. And in fact that Author makes mention of (Hallmark) several times through out the book in describing the setting and scenes in the book itself.
What I liked about the book: The characters were fun and believable and easy to relate to.
The author was very descriptive of the characters, the settings, the food, etc...this was both a plus and minus for me. I like having good descriptions of things but sometimes felt she went a little overboard on the descriptions or they were repeated a lot throughout the story.
Besides the "romance" aspect of the story there were also plot lines for the other characters besides the main character (Riley).
It was light hearted, fun and easy to read. No explicit sex scenes (which for me is a plus as I don't think they are necessary for a book to be good), no foul language either (also a plus for me). - It's the kind of book you can read from start to finish in a day or put down and pick up a few days later and get right back into the story.
What I didn't like about it: Again I did feel some of the details were repeated over and over such as the (wine/cheese) which is mentioned a lot in the book. I almost thought that the people drank way to much wine and ate way to much food to be normal. But that's just a minor "picky" detail about the book that you could easily overlook.
Over all for this kind of genre of book I would give it a 4 star rating. It was a nice, pleasant book set at Christmas time and fun to read. So I would recommend the book to anyone wanting to just sit down with a cup of tea, coffee or even a glass of wine and enjoy a relaxing time reading.

The Christmas Inn by Pamela Kelley is your typical Hallmark Holiday Christmas movie style book. Girl goes home for Christmas after losing her job to help run the Inn after her mother breaks her leg. Old boyfriend and his son are there, the mom is dead. They fall in love again, Christmas Magic!!! I found this to be a very trite and somewhat boring novel. I skipped a good part of the middle, checked to make sure the end was what I thought it would be and moved on. If you love sappy Christmas stories, this is for you!!! Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

This book hit all the right feels about a Christmas in July book. It will be very popular in the winter too. Definitely adding it to one of my favorites.

After losing her job in Manhattan just before Christmas, Riley returns home to Chatham for the holidays to help her mother at her bed and breakfast. Riley misses Manhattan and her boyfriend, but she soon falls into a comfortable routine in her hometown. After meeting new friends and getting reacquainted with an old flame, Riley begins to wonder if searching for a new job in Manhattan is the right move for her.

True to form, Pamela Kelley has written yet another heartwarming story that makes you feel like you've made new friends by the end of the book! The characters are down to earth and likeable, and the author has you cheering for them along the way. The story is reminiscent of a Hallmark movie and is a nice break when you need to relax and just enjoy a good story.

I am so glad I was able to read this upcoming novel thru NetGalley and the author Pamela Kelly. It was fun to read on a hot beach day on the Cape and will be very popular this winter too. The author sets her novel on Cape Cod and her descriptions are very true. The characters in the book all experience growth and it’s another winner for Pamela Kelley!

This was the first book I read by Pamela Kelley. A 5 star read for me. It was an enjoyable book that I couldn’t put down. Finished it in one sitting . Felt like the perfect Christmas hallmark story. It made you feel like you were there with the characters in the story. I felt Riley’s sadness and regret once she went back to Manhattan after being home. It was heart warming once she went back home to Chatham. Will be reading more of her books.
