It feels like this book has been written numerous times from different perspectives. Faking dating a celebrity. Fall in love. Misunderstanding. It was Hallmarkish.

Thank you to NetGalley as well as Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the audiobook..

Super super cute read. I would rate more of 4.5 stars because it does have a few issues, but I rounded up because I really enjoyed the book. The characters were well developed, and their relationship made sense. Their lack of communication was frustrating at times, but it did make sense why they were so hesitant to trust each other. They both were understanding of the other issues and background and their relationship progressed nicely. This was a very clean and wholesome book as well. I listened to this book as an audiobook and was so invested in the story that I listened to the book in one day and ended up staying up half the night. The narrator did a great job. My only critique would be that this book is dual POV but only has the one narrator. I would have liked if there was a male narrator giving the males POV, but the narrator did the best she could to change her voice so we could tell whose POV it was. Overall, I would recommend this as a fun cute romance that has you rooting for all the characters.

This was a very fun & fast beach read. The narrator, Kathleen McInerney, does such a great job narrating the characters. She gives each charter enough change in her voice, that you know it is another character. Chloe Anderson has written a romance book with the perfect boyfriend that everyone is swoon worthy over. Chloe‘s book gets picked up to be a movie and the last person she can imagine to play the role of the perfect boyfriend happens to be who they cast. Liam Hamilton has gotten very bad publicity with his dating in the gossip magazines. Chloe decides she will go ahead and work with Liam to make this movie. This book is the perfect enemies to lovers trope set in a very clean, wholesome setting, think Hallmark movie. It’s a great book to take your mind off your own worries for a few hours.

I absolutely LOVED this book! I listened to it on audio and it was SO GOOD! I loved the characters and the storyline was beautiful! It reminded me of the Disney Movie "Starstruck." Chloe Anderson is a writer and her book turns into a movie. Liam Hamilton is a movie star who is not who everyone thinks he but that is a good thing. Chloe and Liam end up in a PR relationship when they start working on her book being turned into a movie. Once into the story, you learn about both of their family backgrounds. The audio narrator does such an amazing job with telling the story! It made me feel like I was really in Stillwater, North Carolina! As you get further into the story, you start to see Chloe and Liam's real feelings for each other. Will they stay a couple? Will they break up? Will he leave after the movie is finished? You need to read this amazing book to find out!

I just finished this audiobook and well, I couldn't concentrate on anything but listening to the story! I loved it! I really loved the Hollywood Bad Boy vs Good Southern Girl! The characters were well fleshed out and I followed the storyline completely! The narrator was amazing and helped the story move along! Enjoy!

Thanks to NetGalley! All opinions are my own.

What a great story about self discoveries, forgiveness and trust. Trusting someone to love who you are, learning that you are enough and forgiving the past and hurt they’ve experienced…. This was such a wonderful story!

For my booksta friends who love smut, this isnt one of them. This was more gentle and sweet with some cute funny moments! I think my favourite part was the epic kiss in the rain. I hate being in the rain myself, but that scene was picture perfect! Until…. 🤪 go read it to find out!

Ok… now this is a first for me, but the narrator was sort of robotic when reading and for me it was quite distracting :( and I kept thinking why does she talk like a robot? That was definitely something that bothered me. But maybe it’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

But the book was great! I would definitely try another Denise Hunter book again as this was my first book by her.

A sweet romance that will have you swooning and hoping for more books to come! On the surface our main characters appear to be opposites and completely unsuited for each other, but as they get to know each other better and share their childhoods with each other they find they are more alike than they thought. It really goes to show you that you shouldn't always believe what others tell you about someone, but should wait and form your own opinion about them instead. The small-town setting is the perfect backdrop for the plot and fits perfectly! The author has woven believable characters with unique hardships in their pasts that have helped created personalities that are so incredibly realistic. You feel as if you know them, live in the same small town and are watching the drama unfold with the rest of the town. The author has a wonderful way of sucking you into the story so that you feel as if you are living it along with the characters. The narrator definitely helps as they do an outstanding job of bringing the characters and story to life for the listener! I am definitely hopeful that this book will be the launch of a series so we can see more of this town and the characters that we met!

Chloe has recently written a novel, think along the lines of The Notebook, that is loved and now being turned into a movie. Liam (Chloe's last choice to play the lead role in the movie) has been signed as the lead in the movie. In order to improve Liam's bad boy image, Chloe has been asked to "fake date" Liam. At first she is very resistant to the idea and of him being in the movie, but as she gets to know him she finds there is so much more than what she sees on the surface. This was a beautiful story of love, set in a small town; filled with rich characters and a rather precocious cat. If you enjoy a romantic story that cuts out all the heavy topics and just gets to the heart of the romance and feelings, this is the story for you. Denise Hunter writes the kinds of love stories that I enjoy reading. Sometimes its just nice to read a romance without all the drama and angst that is common in today's novels. I listened to this on audio and I did enjoy the narration.

Sweet and nicely written, Denise Hunter's Love, Unscripted is a fake boyfriend, opposites attract romance. Hunter includes tons of vivid scenes of the colorful townsfolks, some nice family drama, and a very charming girl meets boy (of her secret dreams) love story.

The novel is nicely performed by Kathleen McInerney.

Love, Unscripted was a charming tale of unexpected love. The characters and the small town North Carolina setting were all balanced well and drew you in right away. Sometimes relationships are complicated and this appealed to me in this story, causing it to not be overly-sappy but rather believable and relatable.
I've read some of Hunter's works before and will surely pick up her next!
Thank you to NetGalley for this well-narrated audio version.

Denise Hunter has penned another lovely story that is inspired by having a previous book made into a movie. This book has an adorable first meet-cute between the hero and heroine that made me smile. The story is lighthearted and yet dealt with some sad issues Chloe and Liam experienced in their individual lives. I found the book to be very enjoyable and inspiring.
I listened to the book, and the narrator's voice is perfect for the characters. She did a great job.

I received a copy of the audiobook to provide an honest review.
The narrator, Kathleen McInerney, did a great job narrating the cast of this audiobook. She kept the story flowing & engaging.

Chloe Anderson, an author of a bestselling novel, learns that her book will be turned into a movie - the catch? Hollywood’s bad boy, Liam Hamilton, will play the lead role. Chloe is devastated because she does not believe he can portray her lead character properly. What follows will surprise everyone.

A story of fake dating, small town, and family drama. I was fully invested throughout and really cared about the characters!

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins Christian Publishing for the arc of this book.

Love, Unscripted, by Denise Hunter, is the story of author Chloe Anderson as she works with Hollywood studios to bring her novel to the silver screen. Chloe wrote her bestselling debut novel, Beneath the Summer Skies, after an intense heart break. Chloe has based her leading man, Ledger, on all the characteristics she looks for in a man. It may be lofty, but Ledger is her ideal. When tabloid bad boy Liam Hamilton is given the role, Chloe is not kind with her reaction not knowing she is on speaker phone and Liam is on the call. As he has already accepted this part, Chloe angsts that he cannot possibly portray the character accurately.

When Liam arrives in Stillwater, NC, well before filming begins, he encounters Chloe in a crazy afternoon meeting and they decide to call a truce leading to an unlikely alliance to help each other. From this point a beautiful story unfolds as two improbable people begin an unexpected adventure.

Again Ms. Hunter has written a lovely book about real people finding their ways in an often unkind world. This book looks inadvertently at the negative effects of social media and tabloids and the dangers of the anonymous comments sending daggers to the hearts of real people. This is currently a very serious social problem that has been well addressed. Ms. Hunter has presented a well scripted story that I very much enjoyed and do recommend!

This is my first Denise Hunter book and I'm now a fan!! This was the perfect beach read, and it kept my interest the entire time, which is a hard feat in itself. The characters were so likable, and I loved the premise of the story. A lighthearted, heartwarming book about two flawed people who fall in love.

This one is the perfect light and breezy summer read. It has a little bit of everything and leaves you with everything tied in a nice pretty bow.

Immediately we are transported to a quaint little beach town and all the charm that goes with it. Chloe is the quintessential small-town woman who happens to write a best-selling romance novel. As it is being made into a movie, Liam Hamilton is cast as the lead and Chloe is less than pleased. There is no way the Hollywood bad-boy can play her leading man who acts in the name of love at every turn.

As Chloe and Liam embark on a journey together that benefits them each personally, sparks fly and they are each enchanted by the other. But with all the time spent together, secrets are divulged and the past rears its ugly head and drives a wedge between the budding romance.

Both Liam and Chloe are tested, coming out on the other end each stronger for it. Their love is questioned and stretches the span of the country, but the way they reconcile is so so sweet.

Looking for a beach read about a beach town with a swoony romance?! This one is perfect!

✨Review✨

To give you just a taste of this adorable book…

“Where will you call home, Liam?”
“Wherever Chloe is.” ❤️

I love a good love story, and this one was so charming! Chloe wrote a book, and her best friend Mariah has it in her bookshop on the beach- (like how fun is that!) She got the call that her book is going to be made into a movie! Dream. Come. True. But she wants it to be perfect. She’s gone through a lot and she wants it to be told perfectly. They chose Liam, and actor who has been in the tabloids for all the things she doesn’t want her “perfect guy” in the book to be. Liam is a gorgeous guy, but the tabloids have made him to be out to be a flirt, and not great with relationships. On accident she says all this while he listens. Liam though shows Chloe he is not what the tabloids make him out to be. He is learning the area, reading the book to study the part, and has a lot to show Chloe who he really is. The producers think it would help the film, and his reputation (that also becomes hers now with this book becoming a movie) to fake date. So they do! They play the part, she helps him get the idea of the dreamy man she has written about. But as they begin to spend so much time together they both fall for each other. Sadly, past things get brought to the surface, miscommunication, and the tabloids come into the picture in not the best of ways. This book was absolutely adorable! A fun, lighthearted, and extremely charming love story. I have always admired Denise Hunters writing and her sweet love stories she tells.

Add Love, Unscripted to your to be read lists! It comes out March 11.

This was great! Novelist enters in a fake relationship with the actor playing the lead role in the movie based on her book. But, is it really fake? Great small town atmosphere and an easy read! Narrators were wonderful! Took it for a beach day read and was perfect!

Denise Hunter delivers another delightful story with Love, Unscripted. A stand alone novel, Love, Unscripted is set in a small Atlantic beach town and tells the story of a bestselling book author and the man chosen to be the hero in the movie. Author Chloe has a difficult past that has influenced all of her relationships. As she uncovers more about herself throughout the story she also falls more in love with actor Liam, who is playing the "perfect book boyfriend" in her book turned movie. Both characters have depth to them, and we follow their journey of discovering more about themselves so that they can be more open to one another. A perfect beach read, Love, Unscripted, is a clean romance that will keep you listening! The narrator has just enough southern undercurrent to her voice you will feel as if you are in the town of Stillwater Bay with Chloe and Liam.
