I loved this book! It was so sweet. I fell in love with Chloe and her sweet southern charm and innocence. This was such a heartwarming story, you couldn’t help but root for love.

Denise pens sweet romances with lovable characters and a few twists and turns. With this book, however, I struggled to connect with our characters- Chloe and Liam.
This is a gentle, contemporary read if you're looking for something light and fun.
Chloe is the author of a Best selling Novel that gets turned into a movie adaptation. This is where she meets Liam, the heartthrob actor who cajols her into a fake relationship.
The story follows them through this fake relationship that they both circle around. Chloe was a bit immature at times, even though I tried to look at this story through her lense. I felt it lacked the chemistry between them, and to be honest, her brother and his "new girl" had it in heaps. Liam, on the other hand, was likable. But, I would have liked a more realistic feel to him. I felt they were passive characters.
The story itself was okay. Not mindblowing, but like I said, light and easy. Apologies to the Arthor for this not so stellar review. I really wanted to LOVE this book.
In terms of the narration, I think it would have been better if it hadn't made Chloe seem like a spoilt brat (because of how it was read in high pitch tones and not as a knock to her character) and maybe voice differentiation between characters as it was sometimes hard to follow and had me rewinding to determine the switch between dialog. I actually will be reading this book to ascertain if maybe I struggled to connect with our characters because of listening to it via Audiobook.
My rating: 3.5 stars
I received the audiobook via Netgalley for an honest review... so here goes.
**All opinions expressed are my own.

"Love, Unscripted" by Denise Hunter is an excellent rom com. I found it very enjoyable! The dialogue seems very realistic. The characters are well defined, and most are likable. There are comical moments. It's a good Hallmark type story with more substance than most of those. This is my first read of any books by Denise Hunter, but I'll look for more as I really liked her style. This book would make a good movie.
Book author, Chloe, and leading man for the movie adaptation, Liam, decide to create a publicity relationship. Enemies -> lovers type plus pretend relationship that morphs. Great chemistry. Smut free.
Kathleen McInerney did a terrific job narrating the audiobook! I really liked the voices she used for each character.
Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction, a division of Harper Collins Christian Publishing, as well as Denise Hunter, for providing this audiobook for review purposes. All opinions in this review are my own.

This light, sweet romance features a fake relationship between a Hollywood bad boy and a small town author. The male lead feeling like a commodity makes an interesting twist. I would have appreciated a glossary of kitchen ordering slang for the restaurant. Apart from Chloe’s stepfather being a pastor and prayer mentioned once, there are no overt faith elements. The narrator does a good job differentiating characters, and especially shines in the scene when Chloe is sick. This makes for undemanding listening.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a review audiobook. All opinions expressed are my own.

Book Review: Love Unscripted

Chloe Anderson is a writer. She has a best selling romance book and lucky for her it is now being made into a movie. The movie is also being filmed in her hometown on the coast of North Carolina.. Chloe wrote what she thought was the perfect man. The producers of the movie had chosen Hollywood playboy 32 year old actor Liam Hamilton to play that man. Chloe is fuming about this choice as he is not what her character represents. After meeting and talking with Liam, who needs this role Chloe decides to go with it. Luke even suggest they should date or should I say Fake Dating for the press etc. Slowly as time goes by they start to become friends. The both have a pass with issues with deal with. Chloe probably has mor issues then Liam. Chloe come to find that Liam’s Hollywood playbloy persona is just an act and he is actually a really nice guy. Along the way there are many ups and downs, misunderstandings, confusion, hurts but in the end love and friendship prevails.

Aww, I loved this sweet, small town romance by Denise Hunter.
Love, Unscripted is about an author (Chloe) whose dream is coming true! Her debut novel is being turned into a movie. She's not so thrilled when she finds out who is playing the main male character. Liam is the opposite of the character he is portraying in the movie. The two decide for the sake of the book and movie to work together. You'll have to read to find out how that goes!
The narrator had a sweet voice that really went well with the vibe of the book!
Thanks to the author and NetGalley for giving me advance access to the audio book, in exchange for an honest review.
Highly recommend this book if you're looking for...
fake dating, celebrity crush, clean romance or small town
In some ways this book reminded me of Nora Goes off Script, so if you loved that book definitely check out Love, Unscripted!

This book was so cute! I love a book about a book. Then you add in the film adaptation, the forced proximity, fake relationship. and i'm sold. They are so sweet.

I really enjoyed listening to this book during work. It's a very lighthearted enemies (?) to lovers novel that had me enthralled at every turn. I did find it a bit predictable with the typical betrayal trope nearing the end but overall a good beach read.

On the heels of a breakup and feeling absolutely lost in love, Chloe uses her hopeless romantic energy to write an absolutely beautiful and captivating romance! Her character is “the best book boyfriend ever” and so swoonworthy that it is making it to the big screen! While the casting does not go as perfectly envisioned from her book baby, the story that follows is worthy of the same treatment Chloe’s book receives! Love, Unscripted is a wonderfully lighthearted and enjoyable listen with so many beautiful themes that will touch the heart of any reader.

I really liked the book.
The characters were super sweet and we felt the love sparking between them.
The characters are dealing with things from their childhood and now the impact it has on their lives.
I also really liked the secondary characters who helped with the development of the story.
The audiobook made the experience more sensorial by involving us in the history of the small town through a soft voice full of personality.

OK. So…I love sappy stories!
And apparently, I love anything Denise Hunter writes…
I did NOT expect this to be a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, and yet it was!!! 😮😮😮
So…Chloe is an author. She went through a bad break up and realized that there are NO perfect men out there…
So, she created one. IN HER BOOK!
Mad guess what? The world went crazy!
Everyone fell in love with him!
And now….it’s going to be a movie!
So let me stop right there…
All my avid readers: You hear one of your favorite books is going to be a movie! You get excited! You go watch the movie!
MOST of the time you’re disappointed…because…THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE!!
Well, Chloe knows this…and she wants the movie to be just as good!
So when she hears that her PERFECT GUY is going to be played by the biggest playboy out there….well, she’s NOT HAPPY!
And that makes for the best kind of book!
Chloe and Liam will have you CRACKING UP throughout the book!
So many sweet, funny and hysterical moments!
Absolutely loved this one!
But know that there are also some pretty deep moments too. This is the kind of book that makes you feel ALL THE FEELS…and that’s my FAVORITE kind of book!
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!

Thanks so much for reading!📚⭐️📖

I am always happy to see a new book by Denise Hunter! She provides the kind of book I pick up when I need a break from more serious books with heavier topics or lots of descriptive prose and the covers are always beautiful!
I enjoyed the banter between Chloe and Liam as well as their backstories which gave them a little more depth. The audiobook was good but I wish there was more of a distinction between the voices of the male and female lead. It was pleasant to listen to and I was able to listen comfortably at 1.75 speed.
I think you will like this one if you like clean romances that have a little bit of depth and lots of food and fun!
Thanks to @Netgalley and @thomasnelson for offering a review copy for me to read in exchange for my honest thoughts!

A heart warming romance with a lot of fun elements sent in small town North Carolina. Wonderful characters and very well written! I would highly recommend this book to anyone! Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.

When play boy actor lands the starring role in her first book to film movie; Chloe is less than thrilled. Fearing her new venture in film will blow up as a playboy is not how her book character is. This could lead to decline in book sales too. Fearing for her future some how along the line the two make a deal. Both benefit from the barter but when things turn up and media picks up things are questioned. This audiobook was am enjoyable fast read romance novel. Would recommend for anyone interested in celebrity gossip, books to films or those who love Hallmark movies.

Well now, I’m throughly charmed and in a post-read tizzy after finishing this delicious contemporary romance. If ever a book screamed ‘beach read’ this one does — from the pretty cover right through to the very last page.
And, oh my! Two of my favourite tropes — enemies to more and fake dating — written to sweet (and angsty) perfection. With liberal doses of humour mixed in. Such a fun read, though some deeper topics are covered as well which keep things realistically messy and just a bit desperate at times.
I’m not usually one for a movie star hero. The whole Hollywood scene isn’t something I care about at all. Or the social media hype that goes along with the rich and famous so, normally I would have passed over this novel BUT Denise Hunter is the author so….I decided to be brave. 🙂
And, wonders of wonders, I actually enjoyed the movie aspects of this novel. Hunter adds just enough details to feel authentic without the ‘Hollywood’ aspects overwhelming the story. Of course, the whole PR scheme screams ‘Hollywood’ but it plays out brilliantly with lots of lovely ‘getting to know you’ kind of scenes to smile and swoon over. And then, when things really heat up — clear your fainting couch and keep your smelling salts handy because it’s not just the summer temps rising…until…well, let’s just say the author doesn’t make it too easy for Liam and Chloe to achieve their happily-ever-after.
I listened to the audio edition of Love, Unscripted (brilliant title tie-in by the way) narrated by Kathleen McInerney who amped up my ‘reading’ enjoyment all the more. She is a talented storyteller who brings characters to life in such a compelling way. Superb listening experience.
My thanks to Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio and Net Galley for providing me with an audio copy of this book.

Chloe is thrilled that her first book, with her perfect boyfriend, is going to be a mayor motion picture filmed in her hometown. But when news of the male lead been playboy Liam Hamilton, she isn’t sure he can really make justice to Ledger. Can they fake a relationship for both their gains and not fall in love when their time together has an expiring date? A sweet story about facing your demons, friendship, family and finding your soulmate. The audiobook with Kathleen McInerney is awesome.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Sometimes romance books of this nature can feel redundant, but it didn't feel that way at all. It was a heartfelt novel about two people finding their way through their own childhood past and finding a way to each other.

A good fake romance with a celebrity- check. This one is really goody I like that in theory he had to become the dream guy that she put into paper but he was really just perfect for her the way he was. They both had some insecurities to get past to make the relationship work and it turned out really cute.
🌀Synopsis
Chloe’s writing is really taking off. So much so, they are turning her book into a movie. When the producers select a male lead, Chloe doesn’t agree with their choice. In fact, Liam is the last one she wants playing this part. She is sure his playboy reputation is going to ruin the movie.
Liam and Chloe get off on the wrong foot but Liam is determined to make this work. His reputation has gotten out of hand and now it’s impacting his career. Barely and of it is true but people don’t know that. Which is why he decides to really put his all into this movie. Private lessons on the main character from Chloe turn into fake dating which turns into real feelings. The only question is, what happens when the movie is over?

This was the first Denise Hunter book that I have read. It had a very Hallmark movie vibe to it. I like Hallmark movies!
I was drawn to the book by the premise. I rarely read blurbs and I just skimmed this one. From what I read, I thought this book had lots of potential. I did enjoy the story and the characters. But I did find it VERY predictable. There wasn't really any kind of twist or interesting event happen that I didn't think was going to happen.
I did listen to the audiobook. It is read by a female narrator. She did a decent job. I can't recall anything that irritated me about her reading style. And I don't also recall anything that was super impressive about her either.
I wish to thank Thomas Nelson, Zondervan Fiction Audio and Netgalley for the ALC of this book. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.

More like Love, Scripted....Denise Hunter brings her usual clean sweet romance to life on the pages. As the reader nothing caught me be surprise, it was all very well, scripted. Typical of this genre the main male and female character have a rough first encounter, have a little strife, but join forces for the trope of "Fake Relationship" , so of course you know they will be exposed the relationship will dissolve and in the last few chapters they will reunite, apologize, and there will be an epilogue of happily every after.
As a female, I love these stories. I know what is going to happen. Maybe it is comfort, they make you feel safe. Ask me in a week for details, and I will be a deer in the headlights. I won't be able to pull out anything. Very flat on the page, nothing memorable. But as I say it, the whole time I read it I was invested in story. I was cheering for them to overcome the inevitable break up.
I didn't like the 2 cases of miscommunication, I hate that, but it is what it is.
I really appreciate the "clean" romance. We had nothing spicier than a kiss, it is refreshing to read characters that are not sloppy drunk, over medicating or sleeping around. I was a little disappointed there was not more of a Christian feel, like I said details have already left me, but I do not recall mention of Jesus, or the gospel outside of characters going to Church.
I know the overarching theme was forgiveness and trust, but, I think in previous Hunter novels she was more bold in proclaiming Christ in her books. But I have not read many of her newer books in a while.
I would say you will enjoy this book if you want a clean quick read that will make you happy while you are reading it, but it won't stick with you.
Thank you NetGalley and Denise Hunter for allowing me to review this advanced copy. I was not influenced or paid in exchange for this honest review.
